Malaria is a disease caused by the invasion of wind-cold pathogenic factors. Therefore, if one is injured by summer-heat in summer, one will inevitably suffer from malaria in autumn. If the pathogenic factor lodges in the Yangming channel, chills and mandibular tremors occur.
If the Juyang (Taiyang) channel is deficient, pain in the head, neck, waist, and spine results. If all three Yang channels (Taiyang, Yangming, Shaoyang) are deficient, bone coldness and pain ensue, causing coldness throughout the interior and exterior of the body. When Yin qi reverses to an extreme, it returns to the exterior, leading to... [Text fragmentary].

This is the syndrome of Heart malaria. Deficiency syndromes are treated with tonification... [Text fragmentary].
A pulse that is wiry, small, and tight indicates that purgation may be used. A wiry and slow pulse suggests the suitability of warm herbs. If the pulse is rapid and tight, sweating therapy may be applied. For any pulse that is floating and large, acupuncture and moxibustion are contraindicated. In treating malaria, intervention should be performed approximately the time it takes to eat a meal before the onset of symptoms; otherwise, the timing is missed.
