[Anzhong San] Treats chronic or recent spleen pain, regurgitation (food reflux), spitting out sour fluid in the mouth. It addresses cold pathogenic qi lingering and stagnating internally, accumulating without dissipation, leading to fullness and distension in the chest and diaphragm, nausea, vomiting with reverse flow, sallow complexion, emaciation, and fatigue in the four limbs. It also treats stabbing pain due to blood and qi disorders in women, where pain in the lower abdomen radiates to the waist with a heavy sensation. All these conditions can be cured.
Corydalis Rhizoma (Chuan Yujin) [Note: Text says Xuhusuo, usually Yanhusuo/Corydalis], Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma (Liangjiang), Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum (Ganjiang), Foeniculi Fructus (Huixiang), Cinnamomi Cortex (Rougui) (each 5 liang), Ostreae Concha (Muli) (4 liang).
Grind the above into fine powder. Take 2 qian each time, mixed with hot wine for administration; for women, mix with light vinegar decoction. For those who do not drink alcohol, take with salt water. No specific timing is required.
[Fenxin Qi Yin] Treats all cases of disharmony of qi in men and women. These are often caused by worry and overthinking, anger damaging the spirit, feeling sorrowful before eating, or circumstances not going as desired. This causes stagnant qi to remain unresolved and accumulate between the chest and diaphragm, failing to flow smoothly. This results in stifling oppression in the heart and chest, false distension in the hypochondrium, dysphagia/blockage, dry heaving, retching, and nausea, dizziness of the head and eyes, fatigue in the four limbs, sallow complexion, bitter taste in the mouth, dry tongue, reduced appetite, and gradual emaciation. It also treats post-illness false oppression in the chest and diaphragm with loss of appetite. All such conditions are treated.
Aquarietatis Lignum (Muxiang) (avoid fire), Morus Albae Cortex (Sangbaipi) (stir-fried, each half liang), Syzygii Arillati Pericarpium (Dingxiangpi) (1 liang), Arecae Semen (Dafuzi) (processed), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng) (remove rhizome, stir-fried), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen) (cut into pieces, each half liang), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) (honey-fried, 1 liang).
Cut the above ingredients into small pieces. Take 2 qian each time, with one cup of water, add three slices of fresh ginger, one jujube (split open, remove pit), and ten stems of Juncus effusus (Dengxincao). Decoct until reduced to 70%, strain, and take warm. No specific timing is required. Another prescription is found later.
[Deming Choudao San] Treats men and women with accumulated cold in the spleen and stomach, disharmony of the middle jiao, false oppression below the heart, abdominal pain, reverse fullness in the chest and hypochondrium, expectoration of cold phlegm, inability to swallow food, belching with acid regurgitation, bitter taste and lack of flavor in the mouth, and loss of appetite. It also treats women suffering from long-term stabbing pain due to blood and qi disorders.
Zingiberis Rhizoma (Ganjiang) (cut into pieces, add Semen Crotonis (Badou) half liang, stir-fry together until black, then remove Badou); Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma (Liangjiang) (add Mylabris (Banmao) 100 pieces, stir-fry together, then remove Banmao).
Process the above thoroughly and grind into fine powder. Take 2 qian each time, with a little salt, mixed with boiling water. No specific timing is required. Regular consumption awakens the spleen and stomach and promotes appetite. This medicine greatly resolves alcohol toxicity. Take on an empty stomach or before meals; mixing with warm wine is even better.
