Large pig stomach (one) Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian, 黄连) (3 liang) Fresh Ginger Root (Shengjiang, 生姜) (crushed) Honey (Fengmi, 蜜) (each 2 liang)
First, thoroughly wash the pig stomach and drain it well. Then, place green onion, Sichuan pepper, vinegar, flour, and the aforementioned herbs into a silver or earthenware vessel. Add water and wine, and decoct for half a day. Strain out the Coptidis Rhizoma, wash away all residual honey and wine, chop, and grind into a fine powder. Mix with water to form a paste, insert into the pig stomach, and suture tightly with silk thread. Return to the silver or earthenware vessel and decoct in water until soft. Grind into a mud-like consistency, and mix with the following herbs:
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, 人参) Schisandrae Fructus (Wuweizi, 五味子) Dioscoreae Rhizoma (Shanyao, 山药) Eucommiae Cortex (Duzhong, 杜仲) (peeled, sliced, stir-fried with ginger juice, remove fibers) Dendrobii Caulis (Shihu, 石斛) Corni Fructus (Shanzhuyu, 山茱萸) (pits removed) Semen Plantaginis (Cheqianzi, 车前子) Sophorae Tonkinensis Fructus (Linghuaijiaozhi, 苓槐角子 - likely a variant or typo for Sophorae Fructus/Huaijiao) Cuscutae Semen (Tusizi, 菟丝子) (soaked in wine, steamed, ground; 5 liang) Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin, 黄芩) (4 liang - Note: Original text says "Huang" alone, inferred as Huangqin based on context, but strictly translating visible text would be incomplete. WHO standard prefers full names. Here we assume Huangqin based on common formula structure for this context, or leave as 'Huang' if strict. Given the prompt asks for accuracy, I will use Huangqin as it is the standard herb starting with Huang in this context, or note the ambiguity. However, for translation, I will use Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin) assuming the missing character was Qin, as "Huang" alone is not a standard herb name in this list format.) Agarwood (Chenxiang, 沉香) (0.5 liang) Moschus (Shexiang, 麝香) (1 qian, separately ground and added)
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Knead with the pig stomach paste until uniform. If the paste is insufficient, add cooked honey. Pound for thousands of strokes. Shape into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 50 pills per dose before meals, delivered with warm wine or rice gruel. Another version includes Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu, 白术) (2 liang) and Yangqishi (Yangqishi, 阳起石) (1 liang).

Tieyin Powder (Tieyin Fen, 铁胤粉) (ground) Oyster Shell (Muli, 牡蛎) Anemarrhenae Rhizoma (Zhimu, 知母) Scrophulariae Radix (Xuanshen, 玄参) (each 1 liang 1 fen) Sophorae Flavescentis Radix (Kushen, 苦参) (1 liang) Cinnabaris (Zhusha, 朱砂) (2 liang, separately ground) Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian, 黄连) (1 liang) Ophiopogonis Radix (Maimendong, 麦门冬) (heart removed) Trichosanthis Radix (Tianhuafen, 天花粉) (each 1 liang) Folium Aurum (Jinbo, 金箔) (200 pieces) Folium Argentum (Yinbo, 银箔) (200 pieces)
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Mix with well-cooked honey and a small amount of fresh Trichosanthis Radix juice. Shape into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Coat with gold and silver foil. Take 20–30 pills per dose. First, take one dose delivered with Trichosanthis Radix juice, followed by Ophiopogonis Radix decoction. When symptoms subside, reduce to twice daily. Avoid fried foods, alcohol, and sexual activity. Another version includes Aloe (Lvhui, 芦荟) (2.5 qian) and Stir-fried White Hyacinth Bean (Chaobaibian Dou, 炒白扁豆) (2 liang).
