治疗肾水枯竭，不能上承滋润，心火亢盛炎上，不能与肾水相互既济，导致心中烦躁、口渴，小便频数，饮食减少，肌肤逐渐消瘦，或者腿部浮肿，脚部先变得瘦小，适宜采用清降心火、滋生肾水的方法，其烦躁症状即可顿止。
治疗心火亢盛炎上，肾水不足无法上济，导致烦渴引饮，气血日渐消耗。

Treating Xiao Shen (Kidney Wasting-Thirst) characterized by excessive thirst and drinking, with frequent urination occurring a few hours after meals.
Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, remove rhizome), Sharen (Amomi Fructus), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Shan Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix, remove rhizome), Gualou (Trichosanthis Fructus), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma) (each half qian above).
Gewu (Puerariae Lobatae Radix).
Combine the above as one dose, add two zhong of water, a small amount of honey, decoct to one zhong, take at any time.
Treating exhaustion of Kidney Water, inability to moisten upwards, Hyperactive Heart Fire flaring upwards, inability to achieve mutual interaction (Ji Ji), resulting in restlessness, thirst, frequent urination, poor appetite, gradual emaciation of muscles and skin, or leg edema, with feet becoming thin first. It is appropriate to descend Heart Fire and generate Kidney Water, so that restlessness will cease abruptly.
Treating Hyperactive Heart Fire flaring upwards, Kidney Water failing to nourish upwards, resulting in irritability, thirst with desire to drink, and daily consumption of Qi and Blood.
Huafen (Trichosanthis Radix, two qian), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, remove rhizome), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Yuanzhi (Polygalae Radix, remove heart, mix with ginger juice, dry by baking), Bai Fuling (Poria, remove bark), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix).
Combine the above as one dose, add two zhong of water, two red dates, decoct to one zhong, take before meals.
Treving various thirst diseases.
Huangqi (Astragali Membranacei Radix, honey-fried), Fuling (Poria, remove woody core), Gualougen (Trichosanthis Radix), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, remove heart), Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix), Wuweizi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus), Gancao (Licorice Radix et Rhizoma, fried, each one qian).
Combine the above as one dose, add two zhong of water, decoct to one zhong, take long after meals.
Treating Xiao Ke (Wasting-Thirst).
Huafen (Trichosanthis Radix), Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, remove heart), Gan Ge (Puerariae Lobatae Radix) (each two qian above), Wuweizi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus), Gancao (Licorice Radix et Rhizoma) (each one qian above).
Combine the above as one dose, add two zhong of water, one hundred grains of Jingmi (Oryza Sativa Germen), decoct to one zhong, take long after meals.
Treating Xiao Ke (Wasting-Thirst).
Pipaye (Eriobotryae Folium, remove hairs, fry), Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, slice, bake), Gan Ge (Puerariae Lobatae Radix) (each two qian above), Da Wumei (Mume Fructus, two pieces), Danzhuye (Lophatheri Herba), Gancao (Licorice Radix et Rhizoma).
Combine the above as one dose, add two zhong of water, decoct to one zhong, take at any time.
Treating Kidney injury due to loss of spirit/vitality, Kidney Deficiency leading to Xiao Ke (Wasting-Thirst), with uncontrolled urination.
Lurong (Cervi Cornus Pantotrichum, remove hair, soak in wine, fry), Shudihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, wash and steam), Huangqi (Astragali Membranacei Radix, remove rhizome, honey-fried), Jineijin (Galli Gigerii Endothelium Corneum, bran-fried), Roushouyu (Cistanches Herba, remove scales, soak in wine...).
Grind the above into fine powder, make pills with refined honey, size of Sophora japonica seeds, take fifty pills per dose, swallow with rice soup before meals.
