Answer: The Yangming meridian is the sea of the twelve meridians. It originates at the side of the nose, intersects at the forehead, enters the upper teeth, emerges to surround the mouth, and crosses at the Renzhong (人中) point, with the left meridian crossing to the right and the right to the left. After childbirth, Qi and blood are depleted, and Ying-Wei (Nutritive and Defensive Qi) regulation is disrupted. Blood and Qi scatter into various meridians but cannot return to their proper positions. This causes black Qi to appear around the mouth and nose, leading to epistaxis (nosebleed). This condition arises from postpartum deficiency-heat generating this disease. It is difficult to treat and is named "Stomach Extinction and Lung Failure" (Wei Jue Fei Bai). Regarding this syndrome, Baoqing Prefecture has no specific formula; one should urgently administer Hupo Heisan (Amber Black Powder). If the patient's nasal blackness recedes and bleeding stops, the prognosis is favorable. (See Formula in Question 82)
Answer: Ying (Nutritive Qi) is blood, and Wei (Defensive Qi) is Qi. Ying circulates within the vessels, while Wei circulates outside the vessels. Moving up and down together, they are referred to as Ying-Wei. Due to excessive blood loss during childbirth, Ying-blood is suddenly exhausted, leaving Wei-Qi without a master. It gathers exclusively in the lungs, causing asthma (wheezing). This is named "Lone Yang and Extinct Yin," which is difficult to treat. If lochia (postpartum discharge) is not discharged smoothly, causing stagnant blood to coagulate and ascend to fumigate the lungs, it also leads to rapid breathing. In such cases, administering Duoming Dan (Life-Restoring Pill) will remove the blood stasis, and the rapid breathing will cease naturally. (See Duoming Dan in Question 81)
Xuanfuhua Tang (Inula Flower Decoction) treats wind-strike after childbirth or coughing, wheezing, chest fullness, and phlegm-saliva obstruction caused by wind-cold, summer-heat, or dampness. If wheezing does not stabilize after taking Duoming Dan, this medicine can be taken.

Prepare as a decoction (Yinzi). Take 4 qian per dose with 1.5 cups of water, 5 slices of ginger, and 1 jujube. Decoct until reduced to 0.7 volume. Take warm before meals.
Answer: Within five to seven days after childbirth, if one exerts oneself to get out of bed, or engages in sexual intercourse within a month, or suffers from sorrow and anger disturbing the harmonious Qi, or undergoes excessive moxibustion damaging the Zang-Fu organs, initial symptoms include dry eyes, trismus (lockjaw), and muscle twitching. Gradually, stiffness and rigidity of the waist and spine develop. Such cases are incurable. This is due to human error, not accidental contraction of wind-stroke. This collection provides no formula; San Yin Fang discusses it in detail.
Bafeng Tang (Eight Winds Decoction) treats confusion resembling drunkenness, delirious speech, palpitations with fright, mental confusion, and hallucinations of seeing ghosts.
