[Xue] If there is heat in the bladder (Pang Guang), Jiawei Xiaoyao San (Modified Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) is appropriate. If there is deficiency of Qi in the Spleen and Lung, Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) with Yi Zhi Ren (Alpinia oxyphylla Fructus) should be used. If there is Yin deficiency of the Liver and Kidney, Liuwei Wan (Six-Ingredient Pill with Rehmannia) is appropriate. A pregnant woman presented with enuresis and internal heat; her Liver pulse was surging and rapid but weak upon deep pressure, accompanied by pain in both temporal regions and distension in the hypochondrium. I diagnosed this as Liver Fire with Blood deficiency, and prescribed Jiawei Xiaoyao San and Liuwei Dihuang Wan (Six-Ingredient Pill with Rehmannia), leading to a quick recovery. Later, she experienced alternating chills and fever or fever alone, and the previous symptoms recurred due to anger. I had her take Bazhen San (Eight-Treasure Powder) and Xiaoyao San concurrently to clear Liver Fire and nourish Liver Blood, resulting in a cure.

[Zhang] In pregnant women, labor damages the meridians, causing heat within. The heat affects the Blood; when Blood is heated, it flows excessively and seeps into the bladder, causing hematuria.
[Xue] For the above condition caused by anger stirring up Fire, Xiaochaihu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) with Shan Zhi (Gardeniae Fructus) is appropriate. For that caused by labor stirring up deficient Fire, Buzhong Yiqi Tang is appropriate. For heat accumulation from rich flavors, Qingwei San (Clear the Stomach Powder) with Xi Jiao (Rhinoceros Horn - *note: usually substituted with Niuhuang or other herbs in modern practice*), Lian Qiao (Forsythiae Fructus), and Gan Cao (Licorice Root) is appropriate. For Heat in the Liver Meridian Blood, Jiawei Xiaoyao San is appropriate. For sinking of Spleen Qi, Buzhong Yiqi Tang is appropriate. For Spleen deficiency with Blood Heat, Jiawei Xiaoyao San is appropriate. A pregnant woman presented with hematuria due to anger, accompanied by internal heat, thirst, alternating chills and fever, distension in the chest and breasts, and poor appetite. Her Liver pulse was wiry and weak, indicating Liver Blood deficiency with Heat. I prescribed Jiawei Xiaoyao San and Liuwei Dihuang Wan concurrently, leading to gradual improvement. Subsequently, she took Bazhen Tang (Eight-Treasure Decoction) with Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix), Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex), and Shan Zhi, resulting in a cure.
