一方治疗瘫痪的秘方：蛤蚧（一对）、麻黄（四两）、川乌（二两）、草乌（二两）、透骨草（四两）、艾叶（一把）、川椒（四两）、白花蛇（四钱）、防风（四两）、紫花地丁（一升）、大盐（四两）、槐枝（一条）。
用水两桶煎煮，将大缸半埋在地里，待水温适宜时，坐入缸中洗浴。再用两桶水煎煮药渣，待冷却后，再加入热水。可以一日一夜连续进行，临出缸时，用水冲洗头顶数次，再用芥末稀贴患处，用纸绢包裹，睡在热坑上，以汗出尽为度。忌早起，饮食就卧，效果甚妙。

Symptoms include hemiplegia (left or right paralysis), aphasia due to stroke, pain in hands, feet, arms, and body, difficulty in movement, and reduced appetite. Take two large cups of human milk (preferably from a healthy woman with sweet-smelling milk) and one large cup of sweet pear juice. Pour into a silver vessel or tin container, place in a pot of boiling water to heat through until yellow foam rises on the surface, then remove the foam. Take once after Wugeng (3-5 AM). This formula can eliminate various phlegms, tonify deficiency, generate blood, and prolong life. It is a method of using humans to supplement humans, with unmatched efficacy. For patients with aphasia and hemiplegia due to stroke, this formula has been verified effective. I have frequently achieved good results by administering human milk alongside Dihuang Wan (Rehmannia Pill).
Regarding Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) and Liu Wei Di Huang Wan (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill): The former treats deficiency of Yuan Qi (Primal Qi) and Spleen-Stomach; the latter treats weakness of Kidney Water and True Yin. If the patient is constitutionally weak, or has suffered from illness for a long time without recovery, or has been over-treated with attacking/draining medicines, and is not suffering from exogenous Wind, both formulas should be used together. These are gentle, kingly remedies that can achieve complete success. If the patient suffers from severe deficiency-cold and is over forty years old, formulas such as Shi Quan Da Bu Tang (Comprehensive Great Tonifying Decoction) and Ban Long Gu Ben Dan (Banlong Root-Solidifying Pill) should be used instead. These are sacred medicines for strongly tonifying deficiency-cold, specifically treating chronic hemiplegia.
Jia Wei Shi Quan Da Bu Tang (Modified Comprehensive Great Tonifying Decoction):
Huangqi (Astragali Radix, stir-fried with honey water), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, remove rhizome), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, remove oil and rhizome, stir-fry), Baifuling (Poria, remove skin), Gancao (Licorice Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried, each 5 fen), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, washed with wine), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, stir-fried with wine, each 8 fen), Da Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Lateralis Radix, wrapped in flour, roasted, peel and umbilicus removed), Chenxiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix, each 3 fen), Wuyao (Litseae Fructus), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, remove rhizome, stir-fried with wine), Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex, remove bark, stir-fried with wine), Mugua (Chaenomelis Fructus), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove rhizome), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Yiyiren (Coicis Semen, each 5 fen), Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Gancao (Licorice Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried, each 3 fen).
Crush these herbs for one dose. Decoct with Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and Zao (Jujubae Fructus) and take orally.
Regarding stroke causing left or right hemiplegia, immobility of hands and feet, stiff tongue, and dysarthria: Administer Shangchi Yin (Shangchi Drink) or combine with Dihuang Yinzi (Rehmannia Decoction). This yields miraculous effects.
Jianbu Huqian Wan (Tiger-Hiding Pill for Robust Walking):

Grind into fine powder. Mix with refined honey and five pig spinal cords. Form pills sized like paulownia seeds. Take 100 pills per dose on an empty stomach, administered freely with warm salt water or warm wine.

Secret Recipe for Treating Paralysis:
Gejie (Gecko), Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba, 4 liang), Chuanwu (Aconiti Radix, 2 liang), Caowu (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix, 2 liang), Tougucao (Herba Siegesbeckiae), Aiye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium, one handful), Chuanjiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium, 4 liang), Baihuashe (Bungarus multicinctus, 4 qian), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 4 liang), Zihuadiding (Viola Yedoensis, one sheng), Da Yan (Salt, 4 liang), Huaizhi (Branch of Sophora Japonica, one strip).
Boil with two buckets of water. Bury a large vat half-deep in the ground. When the water temperature is suitable, sit in the vat to wash. Boil the dregs with another two buckets of water. When cool, add hot water again. This can be done for one day or one night. Before exiting, wash the top of the head several times with water. Then apply a thin paste of mustard seed to the affected area, wrap with paper/silk, and sleep on a hot kang (heated brick bed) until sweating profusely. Avoid getting up early; eat and lie down immediately. This is very effective.
Regarding the Immortal Transmission of Duke Shi’s Soaking Wine Prescription: Duke Shi suffered from wind disease, resulting in hemiplegia and contracture of limbs, making walking impossible. Doctors were consulted, excellent remedies were given, but after ten years of treatment, there was no improvement. He requested to return home and sought famous doctors widely. At Fengxian Post Station, he met a strange man, stated his condition, and received a prescription. He soaked the herbs in wine. Before taking it, he could not rise without assistance. After drinking one sheng, he could comb his hair. After two shengs, his limbs had strength to flex and extend. After three shengs, his speech was fluent, and he walked normally. After four shengs, his limbs relaxed, joints harmonized, and he walked swiftly. The effect was miraculous, too numerous to describe.

One variant adds Huashe (Bungarus multicinctus, soaked in wine, remove skin and bone, 4 liang, effect is miraculous).
Finely chop the herbs. Use 35 jin of good wine. Place herbs in a raw silk bag, suspend in the wine, seal tightly. After fourteen days, place the jar in a pot, suspended above water, boil until the contents inside the jar bubble. Remove and bury in soil for three days to remove "fire toxicity". Open the jar to take the wine. Do not face the jar mouth, lest the medicinal power injure the eyes. Drink one or two zhong (small cups) at a time. Do not let the medicinal property cease. Avoid wind-aggravating foods. When preparing this wine, do not boil too long or it will be ineffective; burning one incense stick is sufficient. This is effective for left/right hemiplegia, facial paralysis, limb numbness, bone/joint pain, thirty types of wind diseases, and four types of Qi disorders.
Xianling Jiu (Immortal Spirit Wine):
Xianlingspi (Epimedii Folium, alias Yinyanghuo), one jin, chopped. Place in a raw silk bag, put in a non-leaking vessel, soak in good wine. Seal tightly with thick paper. Spring/Summer: 3 days. Autumn/Winter: 5 days. Then open and drink according to capacity. Aim for mild intoxication, not drunkenness. Treats all cold-wind labor-qig, tonifies waist/knees, strengthens heart/mind. Treats male impotence, female infertility, elderly dementia/memory loss. Most beneficial. Also treats lateral wind, hemiplegia, skin numbness.
Regarding Wind Diseases in Men, Women, and Children: Left/right hemiplegia, hemiparesis, facial paralysis, waist/leg pain, limb numbness, dysarthria, difficulty walking, body-wide sores/rashes affecting head/eyes, tinnitus, difficult phlegm/saliva, skin itching, headache (lateral/correct), new/old cases, tetanus (lockjaw/opisthotonos), snake/dog bites, knife wounds, uncontrolled bleeding (topical application effective immediately), hemorrhoids/fistulas with pus/blood (oral administration cures instantly).

Grind into fine powder. Take 3-5 qian per dose, gradually increasing to 6-7 qian. Before sleep, mix with wine. Non-drinkers may use scallion water.
Regarding treatment for men/women with depleted Qi/Blood, exogenous Wind-Damp invading collaterals, causing limb numbness, body-wide bone/joint/waist/leg pain, progressing to hemiplegia, facial paralysis, various stroke syndromes, inability to walk.
Xianchuan Heihu Dan (Immortal Transmission Black Tiger Pill):
Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, soaked in rice water overnight, peel slice), Caowu (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix, clean peel slice), Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, clean crush), Shengcong (Allii Fistulosi Bulb, with roots and white leaves, pound 2 liang).
Mix these four ingredients thoroughly. Seal and store. Spring 5 days, Summer 3 days, Autumn 7 days, Winter 10 days. Stir daily. When time is sufficient, dry in sun. Add following herbs: Wulingzhi (Trogopterori Faeces), Ruxiang (Olibanum), Moyao (Myrrha) (each 1.25 qian), Chuanshanjia (Manis Squama, roasted remove ash, 5 qian), Ziran Tong (Pyritum, fire-roasted vinegar-quenched 7 times, 2.5 qian).
Grind with previous herbs. Make pills with good vinegar paste, sized like paulownia seeds. Take 30 pills per dose on empty stomach with hot wine. Taking every other day is better. For women with cold deficiency of Blood Sea and abdominal pain, take with vinegar water before sleep. Limit to 20-30 pills; do not overdose. Do not drink cold water/food after taking. Numbness indicates efficacy. Contraindicated in pregnancy. One girl with "chicken claw wind" (tremors/spasms of fingers) was cured immediately.
Recipe for Contracture of Limbs Not Extending:
Yazao (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fruit), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix) (equal parts).
Chop, decoct in water. One dose yields immediate effect.
Recipe for Stroke: Aphasia, facial paralysis, salivation, limb numbness, bone pain, waist/knee weakness, all wind-damp.

Harvest grass on May 5th, June 6th, Sept 9th. Wash leaves, dry, put in jar. Layer with wine and honey. Steam then dry. Repeat 9 times. Grind, make pills with refined honey, sized like paulownia seeds. Take 50-70 pills with warm wine.
Case 1: A man near forty suddenly developed tidal fever, dry mouth preferring cold water. Doctor treated with cooling herbs, ineffective. After 4-5 days, heavy body, immobility, rigid limbs, deafness, delirium, eyes open but unconscious, floating-large-weak pulse. This was extreme depletion of Qi, Blood, Spleen, Stomach. I prescribed Shi Quan Da Bu Tang (Comprehensive Great Tonifying Decoction), removing Baishao and Shudihuang, adding Shu Fuzi (Prepared Aconite). After one dose, patient slept snoring with rattling phlegm. Others thought Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig), Fuzi, Renshen, Huangqi were errors. I said: "The medicine is fighting the disease, do not worry." Given another dose. After an hour, he could move. Next day, several doses, symptoms subsided sequentially. This is treating based on pulse rather than symptoms.
Case 2: A man originally weak, improper diet/lifestyle, left hemiplegia, sweating, coma, phlegm obstruction. Doctor used Renshen large tonics. Sweating stopped, mind cleared, mobility improved. Later violated taboos. Left leg swollen from knee to foot, heavy as stone, unbearable pain, much phlegm. Liver/Spleen/Kidney pulses were large-rapid, soft-choppy on deep pressure. Morning: Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang + Huangbai, Zhimu, Maidong, Wuweizi, decocted to send Dihuang Wan. Evening: Dihuang Wan ingredients + Huangbai, Zhimu. Several doses, symptoms receded, but self-abandonment of taboos prevented full cure.

Ruxiang (Olibanum, 3 qian), Moyao (Myrrha, 3 qian), Mianhuazi (Cottonseed, 6 qian), Baintang (White Sugar, 6 qian).
Grind, dissolve in yellow wine, take to induce sweating.
Case 3: Obese man, heavy drinker, stiff tongue, unclear speech, facial paralysis, surging phlegm-Qi, limb paralysis. Diagnosed Spleen Deficiency with Damp-Heat. Used Liu Jun Zi Tang (Six Gentlemen Decoction) + Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix), Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus), Shenqu (Medicated Leaven). Recovered.
Case 4: Stroke with Phlegm-Cough due to Middle Qi Deficiency, poor appetite. Suddenly phlegm obstruction, asthma, head shaking, eye twitching, flailing limbs, pulse difficult to feel. Complexion yellow with green tint. Liver Wood overacting on Spleen Earth. Prescribed Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang + Baifuling, Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma). Decoct, add Jiangzhi (Ginger Juice) before taking.
