香豆散
治霍乱烦渴吐泻。
藿香（去土） 甘草（一分） 肉豆蔻（面裹煨各一两） 白扁豆 人参（去芦各半两）
上为末。每服一钱。水八分盏。入生姜二片。煎至五分。去滓温服。
（硫黄一分）朱砂一钱，麝香少许。
将上述药物研成细末。用艾叶煎汤调服半钱。在吃奶或进食前服用。
艾黄熨法：治疗泄泻导致身体困乏、病情危重。
蓖麻子七个（去壳研成泥状），熟艾绒半两，硫黄研末二钱。
将上述药物拌匀。先在肚脐上铺一张纸，将药敷在上面，再铺一层稍厚的纸作为衬垫。用熨斗以适宜的温度进行熨烫。不可让熨斗过热，以听到肚脐内有响声为度。
吐泻方
阎孝忠说：凡是小儿吐泻，多因受寒引起，应当温补。我常用理中丸来温暖中焦，五苓散来引导逆气。（五苓散治疗小儿尤为巧妙，所谓“逆”即指呕吐）。连续服用数次，同时给予异功散以扶助正气，用温性药物调理，往往就能痊愈。如果已经出现虚损，应当迅速恢复胃气，给予理中丸，并研磨金液丹的粉末，用生姜米饮煎煮后调灌服用。只有多服才有效，服用到二三两也没有害处。等到胃气恢复，手脚逐渐变暖，仍频繁给予粥食，即使是病情危重的患儿，往往也能死里逃生，十有八九能救活。金液丹治疗小儿吐泻导致极度虚弱最为奇妙。沈存中论述金液丹时提到，亲眼见到几个小儿吐痢剧烈、气息已绝，服用后得以存活，这确实不是妄言。必须多服才能见效。如果是因吐泻引发惊风，身体冰冷抽搐，转变为慢惊风的，理论记载在惊门中。（其中的理中丸、五苓散、金液丹方剂，都收录在《和剂局方》中）。
异功散
治疗吐泻导致的虚冷病证。先给予数服异功散，能够温暖中焦、调和气机、增进食欲。
人参（去芦头）、茯苓（去皮）、白术、甘草（炙）、陈皮（各等分）。
将上述药物研成细末。每次服用二钱，用水一盏，加入生姜五片、大枣二枚，同煎至七分，不拘时候通口服下。
参苓散
治疗伤风受冷，脾胃不调，各种吐泻。
人参（去芦头）、茯苓、白附子、羌活（去芦头）、白术（各一分），肉桂、犀角（镑成屑）、藿香（去土）、川芎、芍药、甘草（各一钱）。
将上述药物研成细末。每次用半钱，用金银花薄荷汤调服，不拘时候。
圃参散
治疗脾胃虚弱，气机不调顺，受风冷侵袭，各种吐泻，手足厥冷。
人参（去芦头二两）、白术（一两）、白扁豆（炒一两）、罂粟米（四两另研）、山药（三两）、陈粟米（三两用生姜自然汁浸泡三个晚上取出晒干）、白茯苓（一两去皮）、木香（三分）、川芎（一两半）、乌药（一两半锉碎）、甘草（三两炙）、厚朴（去粗皮生姜制二两）、白芷（一两）。
将上述药物研成细末。每次服用一钱，用水一小盏，加入生姜三片、大枣一枚（去核），同煎至半盏，温服。空腹及进食前服用。
和中散
治疗三焦不调，寒气停滞膈上，吐泻不定。
藿香（去土）、白豆蔻、人参（去芦头各一两），木香、丁香、干姜（炮）、厚朴（去皮生姜制各半两）、甘草（一分）。
将上述药物研成细末。每次服用一钱，用水一小盏，加入生姜三片，煎至六分，温服，不拘时候。
益中汤
治疗脾胃不和，受冷引起的吐泻。
丁香（半两）、草豆蔻（去皮三个炒）、人参（去芦头半两）、青皮（去瓤半两）、桂心（一分）、诃黎勒（去核一分）。
将上述药物研成细末。婴儿服一字，两三岁服半钱，五六岁服一钱，用木瓜紫苏汤煎煮调服，日夜温服，不拘时候。
沉香散
治疗脾胃不和，吐泻不能进食乳食。
沉香（一分）、丁香（一钱炒）、木香（五分炮）、桂心（五分不见火）、甘草（一钱炙）、茯苓（一分）、藿香（去土一钱）。
用法如前方。
观音散
治疗同上。
人参（去芦头）、甘草（炙）、白扁豆（炒）、石莲肉（去心各一分）、茯苓（一钱半）、白芷、黄芪（捶碎涂蜜炒）、木香（炮各一钱）、神曲（二钱）。
将上述药物研成细末。每次服用一钱，用水半盏，半个大枣，煎煮三沸，温服，不拘时候。
人参散
治疗同上。
人参、茯苓、石莲肉（去心各一分）、甘草（二钱炙）、黄芪（半两蜜炙）。
将上述药物研成细末。每次服用一钱，用水半盏，半个大枣，煎煮三沸，温服，不拘时候。
白术散
治疗胃气虚弱，吐泻口渴。
白术、人参（去芦头）、木香、白茯苓、藿香叶（去土）、甘草（炙各一钱）、干葛（二分）。
将上述药物研成细末。每次服用一钱，用水一小盏，煎至六分，温服，不拘时候。
半夏汤
治疗脾胃虚寒引起的吐泻，以及有冷痰等疾病。
半夏（好的药材一两，用汤浸泡清洗七次，切片焙干）、陈粟米（三分，没有就用陈粳米也可以）。
将上述药物切碎。每次服用三钱，用水一大盏，加入生姜七片，煎至四分，温服，不拘时候。
张涣七香丸
治疗吐泻不能进食乳食，心腹胀满，小便不利。
青皮（浸去瓤，一半生用一半炒用一两），肉豆蔻（半两面裹煨至香熟），牵牛子（一两炒）。
将上述药物研成细末，用糊制作成梧桐子大小的丸药。每次服用二三十丸，用生姜米饮送服，不拘时候。
治疗婴幼儿吐泻：取乱发半两烧成灰，鹿角一分研末，一同研细，用米饮送服一钱，每日三次。
丁香安胃丸
治疗小儿胃虚，气逆呕吐，泄泻烦渴想喝水，精神昏沉困倦。
肉桂（半两）、丁皮、藿香（去土）、滑石、茯苓（各一两）。
将上述药物研成细末，用炼蜜和成药丸，大小如鸡头米。每次服用一丸，用温水化开送服，不拘时候。
温中丸
治疗胃寒泄泻白色稀便，腹痛肠鸣，吐酸绿水，不想吃乳食。
人参（去芦头）、甘草（炙）、白术（各一两）。
将上述药物研成细末，用姜汁糊制作成绿豆大小的丸药。用米饮送服一二十丸，不拘时候。
糯米汤
治疗吐泻不止。
糯米（一百粒）、木香、黄连（去须，这三味锉碎如米粒大小）。
将上述药物同炒至米粒焦黄，去掉木香和黄连不用，只用炒焦的米研成细末。后用枇杷叶去毛洗净，焙干，与米末等分混合均匀。用白开水调服半钱，不拘时候。
进食丸
治疗伤饱乳食不消化，壮热腹痛胀满，呕吐无度。
木香、枳壳（麸炒去瓤）、当归（去须洗焙）、代赭石（火烧醋淬不计次数直到易碎为止另研）、朱砂（研飞各半两）、巴豆霜（一分）。
将上述药物研成细末，用糊制作成黍米大小的丸药。一岁幼儿服一丸，温水送服，不拘时候。
不二丸
治疗伤食吐泻不止。
巴豆（三十粒去皮去心膜研细，另用好黄连半两用水浸泡取浓汁染两张纸包裹巴豆压去油），朱砂（研末一钱水飞），寒食饼（一钱炒）。
将上述药物一同研细，滴水泛丸成绿豆大小。用新磨的水化开一丸服用，不拘时候。
感应丸
治疗脾胃虚怯，乳食过度，吐泻身热腹满。
肉豆蔻仁（四个面裹煨）、丁香末（三钱）、川姜末（二钱）、木香（三钱）、百草霜（四分）、杏仁（二十八个去皮尖另研取霜）、巴豆（十四个去皮膜出尽油取霜）、黄蜡（二两熔化过滤掉渣滓后放入好酒同煮半小时放冷凝）。
将上述药物一同研成细末混匀。先熔化黄蜡和药成膏，怕太硬时可再加少许油。每次随做随丸成黍米大小，温水送服三四粒，在吃奶或进食前服用。
豆蔻散
治疗伏暑伤热，吐泻烦渴，腹胀小便少。
硫黄（一分）、白滑石（三分）、丁香、白豆蔻（面裹煨各半分）。
将上述药物研成细末。每次服一字或半钱，用米饮调服，不拘时候。
藿香散
治疗伏暑冷热不调，吐泻不止。
藿香（去土）、白芷、丁香、缩砂仁（各等分）。
将上述药物研成细末。每次服半钱，用沸水冲服，不拘时候。
香石散
治疗伏暑烦躁，吐泻口渴。
丁香、滑石、硫黄、白芍药、甘草（各等分）。

三和散
治疗伏暑吐泻，津液干燥减少。

乌烬散
治疗中暑口渴，烦躁闷乱吐泻。用谷精草不限多少，烧至存性，用器皿盖住，放冷后研为细末。每次服半钱或一钱，用冷米饮送服，不拘时候。
大七宝散
治疗霍乱吐泻。
木香（炮）、丁香（炒）、桂（去粗皮不见火）、茯苓、人参、诃子（去核）、麻黄（去根节）、当归（去须土）、甘草（炙）、大腹皮、川楝子（去核）、秦艽（去芦炒以上各一钱）、地榆（二钱炒）、藿香（去土一钱半炒）、肉豆蔻（一个面裹煨）。
将上述药物研成细末。每个婴儿服一字，两三岁服半钱，四五岁服一钱，用水半盏，加入半个大枣，煎煮数沸，温服，不拘时候。
建脾膏
治疗霍乱吐泻。
丁香、藿香（去土）、人参（去芦头各一两），沉香、木香（各半两）。
将上述药物研成细末，用炼蜜和成药膏。每次取鸡头米大小，用粟米饮化开服下，不拘时候。
人参汤
治疗同上。
人参（去芦头一两）、厚朴（去粗皮生姜制半两）、甘草（半两炙）、白术、生姜（三分）。
将上述药物切碎，用水一升二合，煮取半升。六十日大的婴儿服一小合，百日大的婴儿分四次服，周岁大的婴儿分两次服。在吃空乳后服用。乳母忌食生冷油腻食物。
苍术汤
治疗小儿霍乱吐泻。
人参（去芦头）、芦根（各半两）、扁豆藤（二两）、苍术（一撮）。
将上述药物研成细末。每次服二钱，用水七分，煎至五分，去渣温服，立即见效，不拘时候。
又一方，名称相同，主治相同。
人参（一两）、木瓜（一个）、苍术（一撮）。
将上述药物切碎，根据患儿大小，煎煮方法如前服用，立即见效。
治疗小儿霍乱吐泻：用牛涎一合，灌入患儿口中，根据大小加减用量。
人参调胃膏
治疗霍乱呕吐，服药不下，烦渴者宜先服此药。
人参（去芦头）、白术、丁香（各一两）、干姜（炮）、甘草、赤茯苓（各半两）。
将上述药物研成细末，用炼蜜和成药丸，大小如皂角子。每次服一丸，用热汤化破，用新汲水沉至极冷后立即服用，不拘时候。
快膈散
治疗霍乱呕吐，服药多则吐出，先服此药。
甘草（半两炙）、良姜（微炮）、肉豆蔻（面裹煨）、丁香（各一分）。
将上述药物研成细末。每次服半钱，用新汲取的冷水调服。
白术膏
治疗伤暑伏热，头目昏痛，霍乱吐泻，烦躁作渴，小便不利，心胸满闷。
白术、泽泻（各半两）、茯苓、人参（去芦头）、滑石（各一分）。
将上述药物研成细末，用炼蜜和成药膏。每次取一皂角子大小，用麦门冬汤煎煮，放温后化开服下，不拘时候。
治疗霍乱不止：取诃黎勒一枚，去核研末，用沸水冲研，一次性服下。如果未痊愈，再做一次。
丁香丸
治疗霍乱吐泻，面色青，四肢冷，虚汗出。
丁香、藿香（去土各一分）、人参（去芦头半两）。
将上述药物研成细末，用炼蜜和成药丸，大小如麻子。每次服五丸，用粥饮送服，不拘时候。
丁香散
治疗霍乱不食。丁香一分，人参半两，研成细末。每次服一钱，用水一小盏，煎至五分，去渣服用。
斗门散
治疗霍乱吐泻转筋。生附子一枚，胡椒一百粒，研成细末。每次服半钱，用浆水一小盏，煎至四分，温服。
七宝散
治疗霍乱吐泻，腹内掣痛。

将上述药物研成细末。每次服一钱，用水半盏，加入一枚大枣、三片生姜，同煎至七分，带热服用。三岁以下的患儿药量减半，用水半合煎之。如果腹泻不止，与香连丸交替服用。
香连丸
治疗冷热不调，霍乱吐泻，腹内掣痛。
黄连（去须择净一两杵碎微炒）、木香（一分）、诃子（七个炮去核）、肉豆蔻（二个面裹煨）。
将上述药物研成细末，用姜汁糊和成药丸，大小如绿豆。每次服十丸或十五丸，用米饮送服，不拘时候，每日四五次。
治疗霍乱方：取蜾蠃（音噎雍，一种细腰蜂）巢穴微炙后研成细末，用乳汁调服一字。
又一方：取芹菜叶细切，煮熟取汁饮用，任意多少，以止住为度。
香豆散
治疗霍乱烦渴吐泻。
藿香（去土）、甘草（一分）、肉豆蔻（面裹煨各一两）、白扁豆、人参（去芦头各半两）。
将上述药物研成细末。每次服一钱，用水八分盏，加入生姜二片，煎至五分，去渣温服。
(Sulfur, 1 fen) Cinnabar (1 qian), Musk (a small amount).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Mix with mugwort decoction and administer half a qian. Take before breastfeeding or eating.
Mugwort and Sulfur Moxibustion Method: Treats diarrhea leading to physical exhaustion and critical condition.
Castor seeds (7, shelled and ground into paste), Prepared Mugwort (Artemisia argyi Herba, 0.5 liang), Sulfur (ground powder, 2 qian).
Mix the above ingredients evenly. Place a sheet of paper over the umbilicus first, apply the medicine on top, then cover with another slightly thicker sheet of paper as padding. Use an ironing pot at a suitable temperature for moxibustion. Do not let the pot become too hot. Stop when a sound is heard inside the umbilicus.
Formula for Vomiting and Diarrhea
Yan Xiaozhong stated: Pediatric vomiting and diarrhea are mostly caused by cold, requiring warming and tonification. I often use Lizhong Wan (Regulate the Middle Pill) to warm the middle jiao, and Wuling San (Five-Ingredient Powder with Poria) to guide rebellious qi. (Wuling San is particularly effective for children; "rebellious qi" refers to vomiting). Administer several doses consecutively, simultaneously giving Yigong San (Extraordinary Efficacy Powder) to support healthy qi, and regulate with warm medicines. Often, recovery occurs. If deficiency damage has already occurred, quickly restore stomach qi by administering Lizhong Wan, along with powdered Jinye Dan (Golden Liquid Pill), mixed in ginger and rice water infusion for administration. Only high doses are effective; taking two to three liang causes no harm. Once stomach qi recovers and hands and feet gradually warm, frequently provide congee. Even critically ill infants often survive from near-death situations, with eight or nine out of ten recovering. Jinye Dan is most excellent for treating pediatric vomiting and diarrhea causing extreme deficiency. Shen Cunzhong discussed Jinye Dan, personally witnessing several infants with severe vomiting and dysentery whose breath had ceased, who revived after taking it. This is indeed not false. High doses are necessary for efficacy. If wind-stirring arises due to vomiting and diarrhea, with cold body and convulsions, transforming into slow convulsion disease, the theory is detailed in the Convulsion section. (The formulas for Lizhong Wan, Wuling San, and Jinye Dan are all recorded in *Heji Ju Fang*).
Yigong San (Extraordinary Efficacy Powder)
Treats vomiting and diarrhea causing deficiency-cold syndrome. Initially administer several doses of Yigong San to warm the middle jiao, harmonize qi, and promote appetite.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Ren Shen, rhizome removed), Poria (Fu Ling, peel removed), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Bai Zhu), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi Gan Cao, honey-fried), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chen Pi) (each equal parts).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Each dose is 2 qian. Add one cup of water, five slices of fresh ginger, and two dates. Decoct together until reduced to 70%. Drink at any time.
Shenling San (Ginseng and Poria Powder)
Treats wind-cold injury, spleen-stomach disharmony, and all types of vomiting and diarrhea.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Ren Shen, rhizome removed), Poria (Fu Ling), Typhonii Rhizoma (Bai Fu Zi), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qiang Huo, rhizome removed), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Bai Zhu) (each 1 fen), Cinnamomi Cortex (Rou Gui), Rhinocerotis Cornu (Xi Jiao, shaved flakes), Agastaches Herba (Huo Xiang, soil removed), Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuan Xiong), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Shao Yao), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi Gan Cao) (each 1 qian).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Each dose is half a qian, taken with honeysuckle and mint decoction, at any time.
Pucan San (Garden Ginseng Powder)
Treats spleen-stomach weakness, qi stagnation, wind-cold invasion, all types of vomiting and diarrhea, and cold extremities.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Ren Shen, rhizome removed, 2 liang), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Bai Zhu, 1 liang), Dolichos Lablab Semen Album (Bai Bian Dou, stir-fried, 1 liang), Papaveris Somniferum Semen (Yangsumi, 4 liang, separately ground), Dioscoreae Rhizoma (Shan Yao, 3 liang), Sorghi Fructus (Chen Sumi, 3 liang, soaked in fresh ginger juice for three nights, then dried), Poria (Bai Fu Ling, peel removed, 1 liang), Aucklandiae Radix (Mu Xiang, 3 fen), Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuan Xiong, 1.5 liang), Linderae Radix (Wu Yao, 1.5 liang, chopped), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi Gan Cao, honey-fried, 3 liang), Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex (Hou Po, bark removed, processed with ginger, 2 liang), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Bai Zhi, 1 liang).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Each dose is 1 qian. Add a small cup of water, three slices of fresh ginger, and one date (pitted). Decoct until reduced to half a cup. Take warm. Take on an empty stomach and before meals.
Hezhong San (Harmonize the Middle Powder)
Treats triple burner disharmony, cold stagnation in the diaphragm, and irregular vomiting and diarrhea.
Agastaches Herba (Huo Xiang, soil removed), Cardamomi Rotundus Fructus (Baidoukou), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Ren Shen, rhizome removed, each 1 liang), Aucklandiae Radix (Mu Xiang), Syzygdii Aromatis Flos (Ding Xiang), Zingiberis Rhizoma (Gan Jiang, roasted), Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex (Hou Po, bark removed, processed with ginger, each half liang), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi Gan Cao, 1 fen).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Each dose is 1 qian. Add a small cup of water and three slices of fresh ginger. Decoct until reduced to 60%. Take warm, at any time.
Yizhong Tang (Benefit the Middle Decoction)
Treats spleen-stomach disharmony and cold-induced vomiting and diarrhea.
Syzygdii Aromatis Flos (Ding Xiang, half liang), Alpiniae Oxyphyllae Fructus (Caodoukou, peeled, three stir-fried), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Ren Shen, rhizome removed, half liang), Citri Aurantii Fructus (Qingpi, pith removed, half liang), Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guixin, 1 fen), Terminaliae Chebulae Fructus (Helile, pitted, 1 fen).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Infants take one zi, toddlers aged 2-3 take half a qian, children aged 5-6 take 1 qian. Mix with quince and perilla decoction. Take warm day and night, at any time.
Chenxiang San (Aucklandia Powder)
Treats spleen-stomach disharmony, vomiting and diarrhea preventing milk/food intake.
Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum (Chenxiang, 1 fen), Syzygdii Aromatis Flos (Ding Xiang, 1 qian, stir-fried), Aucklandiae Radix (Mu Xiang, 5 fen, roasted), Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guixin, 5 fen, avoid direct fire), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi Gan Cao, honey-fried, 1 qian), Poria (Fu Ling, 1 fen), Agastaches Herba (Huo Xiang, soil removed, 1 qian).
Use as in the previous formula.
Guanyin San (Guanyin Powder)
Treats as above.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Ren Shen, rhizome removed), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi Gan Cao, honey-fried), Dolichos Lablab Semen Album (Bai Bian Dou, stir-fried), Nelumbinis Semen (Shilianrou, heart removed, each 1 fen), Poria (Fu Ling, 1.5 qian), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Bai Zhi), Astragali Radix (Huangqi, pounded, coated with honey and fried), Aucklandiae Radix (Mu Xiang, roasted, each 1 qian), Massae Fermentatae Medicinalis (Shenqu, 2 qian).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Each dose is 1 qian. Add half a cup of water and half a date. Boil three times, take warm, at any time.
Renshen San (Ginseng Powder)
Treats as above.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Ren Shen), Poria (Fu Ling), Nelumbinis Semen (Shilianrou, heart removed, each 1 fen), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi Gan Cao, honey-fried, 2 qian), Astragali Radix (Huangqi, honey-fried, half liang).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Each dose is 1 qian. Add half a cup of water and half a date. Boil three times, take warm, at any time.
Baizhu San (Atractylodes Powder)
Treats weak stomach qi, vomiting, diarrhea, and thirst.
Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Bai Zhu), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Ren Shen, rhizome removed), Aucklandiae Radix (Mu Xiang), Poria (Bai Fu Ling), Agastaches Folium (Huoxiangye, soil removed), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi Gan Cao, honey-fried, each 1 qian), Puerariae Radix (Gegen, 2 fen).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Each dose is 1 qian. Add a small cup of water. Decoct until reduced to 60%. Take warm, at any time.
Banxia Tang (Pinellia Decoction)
Treats spleen-stomach deficiency-cold vomiting and diarrhea, and cold phlegm diseases.
Pinelliae Rhizoma (Banxia, high quality, 1 liang, soaked in water, washed seven times, sliced, and dried), Sorghi Fructus (Chen Sumi, 3 fen; if unavailable, aged rice is acceptable).
Cut the above ingredients. Each dose is 3 qian. Add a large cup of water and seven slices of fresh ginger. Decoct until reduced to 40%. Take warm, at any time.
Zhang Huan's Qixiang Wan (Seven-Aroma Pill)
Treats vomiting and diarrhea preventing milk intake, abdominal distension, and difficult urination.
Citri Aurantii Fructus (Qingpi, soaked to remove pith, weighed: half raw, half stir-fried, 1 liang), Myristicae Semen (Roudoukou, wrapped in flour and baked until fragrant, half liang), Pharbitidis Semen (Qianniu, 1 liang, stir-fried).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Make pills with paste, size of hemp seeds. Each dose is 20-30 pills. Take with ginger and rice water, at any time.
Treatment for infant vomiting and diarrhea: Burn half a liang of loose hair, grind one fen of deer horn into powder. Mix finely and take 1 qian with rice water, three times daily.
Treatment for infant vomiting and diarrhea: Burn excrement of a specific pig into powder, mix with water to make juice, give a small amount to drink.
Dingxiang Anwei Wan (Clove Stomach-Anchoring Pill)
Treats pediatric stomach deficiency, rebellious qi causing vomiting, diarrhea with irritability and thirst, mental confusion and fatigue.
Cinnamomi Cortex (Rougui, half liang), Dingpi (Clove stem bark), Agastaches Herba (Huo Xiang, soil removed), Talcum (Huashi), Poria (Fu Ling) (each 1 liang).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Mix with refined honey to make pills the size of a lotus seed. Each dose is one pill. Dissolve in warm water and take, at any time.
Wenzhong Wan (Warm the Middle Pill)
Treats stomach-cold white diarrhea, abdominal pain with borborygmus, vomiting of sour green water, and loss of appetite for milk/food.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Ren Shen, rhizome removed), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi Gan Cao, honey-fried), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Bai Zhu) (each 1 liang).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Make pills with ginger juice paste, size of mung beans. Take 10-20 pills with rice water, at any time.
Nuomi Tang (Glutinous Rice Decoction)
Treats persistent vomiting and diarrhea.
Glutinous Rice (Nuomi, 100 grains), Aucklandiae Radix (Mu Xiang), Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian, rootlets removed). These three are chopped like rice grains.
Stir-fry together until the rice turns scorched yellow. Remove Mu Xiang and Huanglian. Grind only the rice into powder. Mix equally with dried,毛-free, roasted loquat leaf powder. Mix well. Take half a qian mixed with plain boiled water, at any time.
Jinshi Wan (Appetite-Enhancing Pill)
Treats indigestion from overeating milk/food, high fever, abdominal pain and distension, and uncontrolled vomiting.
Aucklandiae Radix (Mu Xiang), Aurantii Fructus (Zhike, bran-fried, pith removed), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui, rootlets removed, washed, dried), Haematitum (Daizheshi, fired and quenched in vinegar repeatedly until easily crushed, separately ground), Cinnabar (Zhusha, ground and floated, each half liang), Crotonis Fructus (Badoushuang, 1 fen).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Make pills with paste, size of millet seeds. One-year-old infants take one pill. Take with warm water, at any time.
Bu'er Wan (Two-Not-Wrong Pill)
Treats persistent vomiting and diarrhea from food stagnation.
Crotonis Fructus (Badou, 30 grains, peeled, heart and membrane removed, ground separately). Use half a liang of high-quality Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), soak in water, take concentrated juice to dye two sheets of paper, wrap the Badou, press to remove oil. Cinnabar (Zhusha, ground powder, 1 qian, water-floated), Hanshi Bing (Cold Food Cake, 1 qian, stir-fried).
Grind the above together finely. Add drops of water to make pills size of mung beans. Dissolve one pill in new water and take, at any time.
Ganying Wan (Responsive Pill)
Treats spleen-stomach deficiency, excessive milk/food intake, vomiting and diarrhea with fever and abdominal fullness.
Myristicae Semen (Roudoukouban, four wrapped in flour and baked), Syzygdii Aromatis Flos (Dingxiangmo, 3 qian), Zingiberis Rhizoma (Chuanjiangmo, 2 qian), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang, 3 qian), Carbonis Cytisi (Baicaoshuang, 4 fen), Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren, 28 peeled and pitted, separately ground to extract paste), Crotonis Fructus (Badou, 14 peeled and membrane removed, oil extracted completely to get paste), Carnauba Wax (Huangla, 2 liang, melted, filtered to remove dregs, then boiled with good wine for half an hour, cooled).
Grind the above into a fine uniform powder. First melt the wax and mix with medicine to form a paste. If too hard, add a little oil. Make pills size of millet seeds as needed. Take 3-4 pills with warm water, before milk/food intake.
Doukou San (Cardamom Powder)
Treats latent summerheat injuring heat, vomiting and diarrhea with irritability and thirst, abdominal distension, and scanty urine.
Sulfur (Liuhuang, 1 fen), White Talcum (Bai Huashi, 3 fen), Syzygdii Aromatis Flos (Dingxiang), Cardamomi Rotundus Fructus (Baidoukou, wrapped in flour and baked, each half fen).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Each dose is one zi or half a qian. Take with rice water, at any time.
Huoxiang San (Patchouli Powder)
Treats latent summerheat with cold-heat disharmony, persistent vomiting and diarrhea.
Agastaches Herba (Huoxiang, soil removed), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi), Syzygdii Aromatis Flos (Dingxiang), Amomi Fructus (Suosharen) (each equal parts).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Each dose is half a qian. Take with boiling water, at any time.
Xiangshi San (Clove and Talcum Powder)
Treats latent summerheat with irritability, vomiting and diarrhea with thirst.
Syzygdii Aromatis Flos (Dingxiang), Talcum (Huashi), Sulfur (Liuhuang), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Shaoyao), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) (each equal parts).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Each dose is half a qian. Take with rice water, at any time.
Sanhe San (Three-Harmonies Powder)
Treats latent summerheat vomiting and diarrhea, dry and scanty fluids.
Poria (Baifuling, 1 liang), Pruni Mume Fructus (Wumei rou, half liang), Dry Quinces (Gan Mugua, half liang).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Each dose is 1 qian. Add one cup of water. Decoct until reduced to 50%. Strain and take warm, at any time.
Wujin San (Charred Black Powder)
Treats summerheat stroke with thirst, irritability, confusion, vomiting and diarrhea. Use Scutellarike Flower (Gujingcao) in any amount. Burn until carbonized but retaining nature. Cover with a vessel, cool down, and grind into fine powder. Each dose is half a qian or 1 qian. Take with cold rice water, at any time.
Daqibao San (Great Seven-Treasures Powder)
Treats cholera-like vomiting and diarrhea.
Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang, roasted), Syzygdii Aromatis Flos (Dingxiang, stir-fried), Cinnamomi Cortex (Gui, bark removed, avoid direct fire), Poria (Fuling), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen), Terminaliae Chebulae Fructus (Hezi, pitted), Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, roots and joints removed), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui, rootlets and soil removed), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi Gancao, honey-fried), Arecae Pericarpium (Dafupi), Toosendan Fructus (Chuanlianzi, pitted), Gentianae Macrophytae Radix (Qinjiao, roots removed, stir-fried, each 1 qian above), Sanguisorbae Radix (Diyu, 2 qian, stir-fried), Agastaches Herba (Huoxiang, soil removed, 1.5 qian, stir-fried), Myristicae Semen (Roudoukou, one wrapped in flour and baked).
Grind the above into powder. Infants take one zi, 2-3 year olds take half a qian, 4-5 year olds take 1 qian. Add half a cup of water and half a date. Boil a few times, take warm, at any time.
Jianpi Gao (Spleen-Building Paste)
Treats cholera-like vomiting and diarrhea.
Syzygdii Aromatis Flos (Dingxiang), Agastaches Herba (Huoxiang, soil removed), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, rhizome removed, each 1 liang), Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum (Chenxiang), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang) (each half liang).
Grind the above into fine powder. Mix with refined honey to form a paste. Take a lotus-seed-sized amount, dissolve in millet drink, at any time.
Renshen Tang (Ginseng Decoction)
Treats as above.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, rhizome removed, 1 liang), Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex (Houpo, bark removed, ginger-processed, half liang), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, honey-fried, half liang), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), Fresh Ginger (Shengjiang, 3 fen).
Cut the above ingredients. Add 1.2 sheng of water, boil until reduced to 0.5 sheng. Infants 60 days old take one small he. Infants 100 days old divide into four doses. One-year-old infants divide into two doses. Take after emptying the breast. The nursing mother should avoid raw, cold, and greasy foods.
Cangzhu Tang (Atractylodes Rhizome Decoction)
Treats pediatric cholera-like vomiting and diarrhea.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, rhizome removed), Phragmitis Rhizoma (Lugen) (each half liang), Dolichos Lablab Vine (Biandouteng, 2 liang), Atractylodis Rhizoma Cangzhu (Cangzhu, a handful).
Grind the above into fine powder. Each dose is 2 qian. Add 0.7 cups of water. Decoct until reduced to 0.5 cups. Strain and take warm. Immediate effect. Take at any time.
Another Formula, same name and treatment.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, 1 liang), Chaenomelis Fructus (Mugua, one fruit), Atractylodis Rhizoma Cangzhu (Cangzhu, a handful).
Cut the above ingredients. Decoct according to the child's size as before. Immediate effect.
Treatment for pediatric cholera-like vomiting and diarrhea: Give one he of ox saliva into the infant's mouth, adjusting dosage based on size.
Renshen Tiaowei Gao (Ginseng Regulating-Stomach Paste)
Treats cholera-like vomiting where medication cannot be retained, with irritability and thirst. Take this first.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, rhizome removed), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), Syzygdii Aromatis Flos (Dingxiang) (each 1 liang), Zingiberis Rhizoma (Ganjiang, roasted), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Red Poria (Chifuling) (each half liang).
Grind the above into fine powder. Mix with refined honey to make pills size of soap pods. Each dose is one pill. Break apart in hot water, sink in fresh cold water, and take immediately. Take at any time.
Kuige San (Quick-Diaphragm Powder)
Treats cholera-like vomiting where medication is vomited up. Take this first.
Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, honey-fried, half liang), Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma (Liangjiang, lightly roasted), Myristicae Semen (Roudoukou, wrapped in flour and baked), Syzygdii Aromatis Flos (Dingxiang) (each 1 fen).
Grind the above into fine powder. Each dose is half a qian. Take with freshly drawn cold water.
Baizhu Gao (Atractylodes Paste)
Treats summerheat injury with latent heat, dizziness and headache, cholera-like vomiting and diarrhea, irritability and thirst, difficult urination, and chest fullness.
Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), Alismatis Rhizoma (Zexie) (each half liang), Poria (Fuling), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, rhizome removed), Talcum (Huashi) (each 1 fen).
Grind the above into fine powder. Mix with refined honey to form a paste. Take a soap-pod-sized amount. Decoct Ophiopogonis Tuber (Maimendong) soup, let cool, and dissolve the paste to take. Take at any time.
Treatment for persistent cholera: Take one Terminaliae Chebulae Fructus (Helile), remove pit, grind to powder. Mix with boiling water and take in one dose. If not cured, prepare again.
Dingxiang Wan (Clove Pill)
Treats cholera-like vomiting and diarrhea, blue complexion, cold limbs, and spontaneous sweating.
Syzygdii Aromatis Flos (Dingxiang), Agastaches Herba (Huoxiang, soil removed, each 1 fen), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, rhizome removed, half liang).
Grind the above into powder. Mix with refined honey to make pills size of hemp seeds. Each dose is five pills. Take with gruel drink, at any time.
Dingxiang San (Clove Powder)
Treats cholera-like anorexia. Clove 1 fen, Ginseng 0.5 liang. Grind to fine powder. Each dose is 1 qian. Add a small cup of water. Decoct until reduced to 50%. Strain and take.
Doumen San (Doumen Powder)
Treats cholera-like vomiting, diarrhea, and muscle cramps. Raw Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata (Fuzi, one piece), Piperis Longi Fructus (Hujiao, 100 grains). Grind to powder. Each dose is half a qian. Add a small cup of fermented grain water (Jiangshui). Decoct until reduced to 40%. Take warm.
Qibao San (Seven-Treasures Powder)
Treats cholera-like vomiting and diarrhea, pulling abdominal pain.
Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu, 4 liang), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, rhizome removed), Poria (Baifuling) (each 1 liang), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, roasted, 1 liang), Psoraleae Fructus (Caoguofu, two large ones, roasted), Terminaliae Chebulae Fructus (Hezi, four roasted and pitted), Zingiberis Rhizoma (Ganjiang, 1 qian, roasted).
Grind the above into fine powder. Each dose is 1 qian. Add half a cup of water, one date, and three slices of ginger. Decoct until reduced to 70%. Take while hot. For children under three years, reduce dose to half a qian, decoct with half a he of water. If diarrhea persists, alternate with Xianglian Wan.
Xianglian Wan (Clove and Coptis Pill)
Treats cold-heat disharmony, cholera-like vomiting and diarrhea, pulling abdominal pain.
Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian, rootlets removed, cleaned, 1 liang, pounded and slightly stir-fried), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang, 1 fen), Terminaliae Chebulae Fructus (Hezi, seven roasted and pitted), Myristicae Semen (Roudoukou, two wrapped in flour and baked).
Grind the above into fine powder. Mix with ginger juice paste to make pills size of mung beans. Each dose is 10-15 pills. Take with rice water, at any time, 4-5 times daily.
Treatment for cholera: Take the nest of Guoluo (a type of wasp), lightly roast and grind to powder. Mix with milk and take one zi.
Another Formula: Finely chop celery leaves, cook thoroughly, drink the juice. Amount is arbitrary, stop when symptoms cease.
Xiangdou San (Clove and Bean Powder)
Treats cholera-like irritability, thirst, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Agastaches Herba (Huoxiang, soil removed), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 1 fen), Myristicae Semen (Roudoukou, wrapped in flour and baked, each 1 liang), Dolichos Lablab Semen Album (Bai Biandou), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, rhizome removed, each half liang).
Grind the above into fine powder. Each dose is 1 qian. Add 0.8 cups of water and two slices of ginger. Decoct until reduced to 50%. Strain and take warm.
