Ferment according to wine-making methods. Once fermented, filter to remove dregs. Take 1 ge per dose, three times daily. Those who can tolerate alcohol may increase the dose. Form pills with honey, taking 3 pills the size of wu zi (wu berry seeds) per dose. Stop when bowel movements occur; if no movement, take three times daily. Cong Dou Xi Tang (Green Onion and Bean Wash Decoction) for treating deficiency heat and stone heat caused by exposure to wind and dew, where cold-dampness injures the muscles, and internal heat transforms into Wind-Water disease. Symptoms include heart/abdominal distension and fullness, shortness of breath preventing bending forward, difficult urination, constipation, limb swelling resembling water-filled bladders, shaking with a color like old silkworms, hard and swollen scrotum like a beanbag, and penile swelling with ulcers resembling dead rats. These result from deficiency and damage, with heat in the Kidney, forced exposure to wind-cold, and dampness injuring the Spleen and Stomach. Brew 5 dou of clear spring wine (another version says 5 sheng). Add 3 sheng of stir-fried Ting Li Zi (Lepidium Seed), soak in the wine for two nights. Take 1 ge per dose, gradually increasing. As the pathogen leaves and urination improves, swelling disappears and shrinks. Highly effective and verified. If spring wine is unavailable, other high-quality wines are acceptable.
For edema with scanty urine, drink 1/2 sheng of urine from a young black ox on an empty stomach. Improvement is indicated by free urination.
