《巢氏病源》小儿伤寒兼惊候∶伤寒是寒气客于皮肤，搏于血气，使腠理闭密，气不宣泄，蕴积生热，故头
痛体疼而壮热也。其兼惊者，是热乘心。心主血脉，小儿血气软弱，心神易动，为热所乘故发惊，惊不止则变
惊痫也。
茅先生有小儿中兼惊伤寒候∶大热狂躁，荒虚乱言，上渴，此候因惊热候传此。所治者，急用麦汤散三服（方见本
门中，）微汗出；次日下朱砂膏二服，（方见惊积门中。）热渐退；第三日下青金丹，（方见本门中。）通三次用匀气散、（方
见胃气不和门中。）醒脾散（有二方，一方见胃气不和门，一方见慢脾风门中。）相夹与服。第四日身犹有伏热，即下大
附散（方见慢惊风门中）。夹回阳散与服，（方见本门。）即愈。
汉东王先生《家宝》夹惊伤寒病证并方。夹惊伤寒候∶浑身壮热，心躁发渴，睡里多惊，手足不定；两面颊赤色，
眼腥瞪，（腥音性，瞪音郑，直视也。）小便赤。宜用薄荷散三、二服（方见夹食伤寒门中）及轻青丹三、二服（方见单
伤寒门中，）间用调胃气药（方见夹食伤寒门中，）更进七宝牛黄丸治惊及金莲散三、二服退热（方并见本门）。如根据次
用药不退，往往变作惊风，自有惊风诸方。
《玉诀》小儿伤寒惊搐歌∶
伤寒惊搐即生涎，胃热乘虚遍体斑，颊赤口干皮受热，涎高风盛发狂言。
风盛太过者，先与解之。涎实者，下之；伤冷，温之；热即利之。利涎调气，即无误也。
《玉诀》小儿伤寒惊搐候歌∶
伤寒热病胃邪攻，燥渴频频面色红。本是先传心与肺，急须解利治惊风。
此乃伤寒在表，宜坯煎散（方见本门中，）次乌犀膏利涎（方见急慢惊风门中。）又与调荣卫，切忌用热药。
《石壁经》三十六种夹食惊伤寒候歌∶
脚冷头烧气不和，渐生喘急爱眠多。有时梦里须频搐，（《凤髓经》云∶梦里惊掷。）极嗽生涎不奈何。吐沫且汗方
为妙，解热消涎去久 。汗出除惊方已疾，其余平药与调和。
先调气，次发汗和解，解即凉膈，膈凉则涎自化矣，涎化则搐自住。
《小儿形证论》四十八候夹惊伤寒歌一同。后云∶此患有先受伤寒后受惊，亦有先惊而后受伤寒。如先受伤
寒，即先退伤寒，后退惊；先受惊即先退惊也。如退惊与南星丸（方见伤寒变疹门中，）如有余热更一服大青膏，（大青
膏方未见，大青丹方见急慢惊风门中。）如退伤寒即与解表散，（方见惊风门中。）后服调胃散。（方见积热门中。）
《保生论》小儿伤寒并夹惊候∶其脉浮洪伤寒者，小儿内停冷乳、包嚼之食，外伤冷风于腠户。令儿面色黄，
两颊红色，鼻塞气喘，身上寒毛起，鼻流清涕，咳嗽喷嚏，烦躁吐食，频多下泄，小便如粉，皆是伤寒候。若加睡中惊
掷狂叫，卧不安稳，是夹惊伤寒，宜与坯煎散并三服出汗，次与镇心丸。若只大喘啼叫，是伤寒正受候，宜与三黄散三
服，次与麦汤散三服退热。（坯煎散与《凤髓经》同，见本门中。镇心丸方与吉氏同，见一切惊门中。三黄散与四十八
候同，见单伤寒门中。麦汤散方见本门中。）
《博济方》治小儿惊风，伤寒四五日未得汗，摇头扬手上窜，多啼叫，不睡，吃水不休。铅白霜丸
铅白霜 朱砂 马牙硝 人参 天竺黄 甘草（炙。各半两） 山栀子（一两）
上件七味为末，炼蜜为丸如桐子大。每服一丸，冷熟蜜汤化下。
茅先生小儿诸病青金丹
青黛（罗过，平钱满挑一钱） 滑石（末） 天南星 丁香（罗过。各二钱） 轻粉（重二钱） 水银（秤二钱，
先以锡二钱于铫子内煮熔，便放水银拌和，泻去于地，冷用） 川巴豆（去皮心膜，七十二片无缺损者，井华水浸一宿，
悬当风处吹干烂研）
上前件药同拌合，软饭为丸如此○大，巴豆不出油，根据形证用汤使下项。伤寒后取积，淡煎葱汤吞下。
取疳虫，用牛肉炙汁下。惊风、肚中紧硬、面青黑，金银薄荷葱汤吞下。因伤食肚中及腹皮上微热，肚胀，
夜间作热，以疳又不是疳，面青黄色，眼微黄。此腹中有积，用皂角子二七粒，灰内煨过，用水一盏，煎至
半盏。下有积作泻，鱼 汤下；气积，炒茴香汤下。根据前件下药，周岁十四丸，三岁十八丸，七岁二十四丸，
看大小加减。仍须是四更初下此药，天明通下积来，积尽可根据形证候下药补之。临吃此药恐先吐下，HT 小涎
来不妨。
《茅先生方》小儿回阳散
苍术（一两，米泔汁浸一宿） 甘草（炙） 白术（炮） 陈橘皮（去白，各半两） 木香 大附子（炮子，去皮
秤。各一钱）
上为末。每服一大钱，用盐汤空心点服。回阳散可夹伤寒药与服，看形候下之。

汉东王先生《家宝》治婴孩小儿潮热金莲散 兼治伤寒夹惊。
连翘 山栀子（去壳） 甘草（炙） 防风 蝉壳（洗去土令净。各等分）
上为末。每服婴孩一字，二、三岁半钱，四、五岁一钱，以水一药注或半银盏，煎十数沸服。
张涣金泥膏方 治伤寒邪热乘心，兼发惊病。
菖蒲（一寸九节者用） 远志（去心） 钩藤（各一两） 人参（去芦头） 草龙胆 甘草（炙。各半两）
以上捣罗为细末，次用∶
水银（一分） 牛黄（别研） 麝香（研。各一钱） 金箔（二十片，将水银研如泥）
上件与诸药一处拌匀，用蜜半斤，酥四两，用银锅或石锅中，先入水二升，除出金泥、酥、蜜外，先入诸
药，慢火熬至一升，新绵滤去滓，方再不酥、蜜，金泥搅匀，用柳枝不住手搅，熬成膏，用瓷合盛。每一豆
大，薄荷汤化下。
张涣防风天麻膏方 祛风镇惊及伤寒夹惊。
防风 天麻 人参（去芦头。各一分） 甘草（炙） 白僵蚕 干全蝎 白附子（各半两）
以上捣罗为细末，次用∶朱砂（细研，水飞，一两） 牛黄（研，一分） 麝香（研，一钱）
上件都研匀，炼蜜和如皂皂大。每服一粒，用薄荷汤化下。
《婴童宝鉴》治小儿夹惊、夹风伤寒，侠食微转。千金丸方
朱砂（末，一钱重） 腻粉（一分） 麝香（半钱） 全蝎 白丁香（各七个，末）
上件和匀，白饭为丸如萝卜子大。薄荷汤下，一岁三丸。
《玉诀》治小儿伤寒惊搐。梨浆饼子 治风下涎。
轻粉（半两） 铁粉 荆芥穗 辰砂 腊茶（各一钱） 郁李仁（七个，出油） 粉霜（半钱） 牵牛子（二十七
个，微炒） 脑麝（各少许）
上为末，炼蜜为饼子，加减。用梨汁薄荷汤化下。
《玉诀》坯煎散 治夹惊伤寒及解惊发汗。

《三十六种》治夹惊伤寒。白附子散

《凤髓经》坯煎散 治小儿夹惊伤寒，浑身壮热，睡中惊掷，咳嗽烦躁，下泄多。
川乌头（半两，炮裂，去皮尖） 大黄（蒸熟，三钱） 雄黄 白附子 甘草（炮） 川芎 天麻 僵蚕（去足。
各一钱） 麝香（少许） 麻黄（去节，四钱）
上为末。每服半钱或一钱，大者一钱半，水半盏，入坯子三粒，葱白半寸，同煎数沸，温温服。如出汗并
三服。
《保生论》麦汤散 治小儿变蒸，伏热，伤寒，咳嗽喷嚏，体热面赤。
麻黄（去节） 滑石 甘草 杏仁（去皮尖） 大黄 北葶苈子 地骨皮
上各等分，为细末。每服半钱、一钱或一字，小麦薄荷汤下。
《刘氏家传》红绵散 治小儿夹惊伤寒，吐逆，躁闷热渴，夜啼不睡。常服温平镇心、不凉。过一百日后，六、
七日间进一服不妨。
全蝎 人参 白茯苓 天麻（各一钱） 麻黄（半两，去节） 大辰砂（一钱）
上件为细末，将辰砂研细，一同和匀。每服一小钱，水少许，薄荷一叶，同煎十沸，温温服。
《吉氏家传》治惊，胃气虚弱，吐后手足搐搦、眼下及唇青者，不进饮食，是夹惊伤寒。没石子膏
没石子（三个，生用） 人参 诃子（炮） 白术（各二钱） 丁香（五七个） 甘草（炙，半两） 香附子（三
十七个，去皮）
上末匀，煮猪肉，煞研丸如梧桐子大。不进饮食，白术汤下。
《吉氏家传》治夹惊伤寒。铁刷散
麻黄（去根节，一两） 甘草（炙，半两） 细辛（半两） 石膏 葶苈 青皮（各一分） 杏仁（十二个）
上末。如小儿伤寒三二日壮热，不曾调理，外风把定关窍，伤寒面黄白色，壮热微渴，此是伤寒候。三、
五日内，心藏热，面赤唇红，多躁壮热，热极生涎，即为惊也。元初伤风为伤寒，此候为夹惊伤寒也。如此
患先下异功散二服，紫苏木瓜汤煎后，以此药半钱，水一盏，姜三片，煎至四分，温服，头面微有汗解。伤
寒不退，如壮热，煎胜金散。如壮热后多睡，更烦躁口干，手足冷，此是外风把定关窍，用绵煎散一服发汗。
汗出关窍通，只用异功散二服和气，更服此药解伤寒。（异功散方见胃气不和门。）
《吉氏家传》胜金散 治小儿伤寒，热惊风，麻痘疮疹，潮热。
天南星（一两） 白附子（半两） 雄黄（一钱）
上为末。每服一钱，水一盏，葱白三寸，同煎三分，作三度与，作三服。
《吉氏家传》治伤寒退热。绵煎散
麻黄（去节，一两） 天麻 紫苏 天南星（油煎赤色） 僵蚕（各半两）
上件末。小儿伤寒惊风，HT 子壮热面赤，沉困头疼，不进饮食。用水一盏，药半钱，绵一片，薄荷汤下，
睡时更煎铁刷散一服。夹惊伤寒无惊，只是伤寒，二日进二服取效。
《吉氏家传》解伤寒，通利夹惊，发汗。紫散子。但是伤寒身热急服。如是积，却服经验方、银夜丸。紫散子

上为末。每服半钱，金银薄荷煎汤下。
长沙医者丁时发传乳香膏 治小儿夹惊伤寒，壮热涎鸣，风热壅盛。镇心化涎，退热定搐搦乳香膏。
朱砂 铅白霜 天竺黄 葛粉 人参 茯苓（各半两） 天麻 甘草（各三钱，炙） 白附子（一分） 乳香（二
钱） 牛黄 脑麝（各半钱）
上为细末，炼蜜为丸如梧桐子大，薄荷汤化下二丸。
长沙医者丁时发传治小儿夹惊伤寒，浑身壮热，涎盛发搐搦。
蝎（七个） 荆芥 麻黄（去节） 白矾 白附子（各二钱） 苏木（少许）
上为细末。每服一钱，水一盏，煎五分服。
长沙医者郑愈传治夹惊伤寒。无惜散
浮萍（紫背者一钱） 犀角屑（半钱） 钩藤钩（三七个）
上为末。每服半钱，蜜水调下。连进三服，出汗为度，后常服亦佳。
《巢氏病源》中关于小儿伤寒兼夹惊风的证候：伤寒是寒邪侵袭皮肤，与血气相搏结，导致腠理（皮肤纹理及汗孔）闭塞致密，气机不能宣泄，郁积而生热，所以出现头痛、身体疼痛和高烧。如果兼夹惊风，是因为热邪侵犯心脏。心主血脉，小儿气血虚弱，心神容易受扰，被热邪所乘故引发惊风，惊风不止则会转变为惊痫。
茅先生记载的小儿中兼夹惊风的伤寒证候：高热狂躁，神志恍惚胡言乱语，上部口渴，此证候是由惊热证传变而来。治疗时，急用麦汤散服用三次（方剂见本门中），微微出汗；第二天服用朱砂膏两次（方剂见惊积门中），热势逐渐消退；第三天服用青金丹，连续三天均匀使用匀气散（方剂见胃气不和门中）、醒脾散（有两个方子，一个见胃气不和门，一个见慢脾风门中）交替服用。第四天身体仍有伏热，即服用大附散（方剂见慢惊风门中）。同时夹服回阳散（方剂见本门），即可痊愈。
汉东王先生《家宝》中关于夹惊伤寒的病证及方剂。夹惊伤寒证候：全身高烧，心中烦躁发渴，睡眠中多惊悸，手足不安定；两面颊发红，眼睛直视不动（“腥”音性，“瞪”音郑，意为直视），小便颜色深红。适宜使用薄荷散二至三服（方剂见夹食伤寒门中）以及轻青丹二至三服（方剂见单伤寒门中），间或用调治胃气的药物（方剂见夹食伤寒门中），再进七宝牛黄丸治疗惊风及金莲散二至三服以退热（方剂均见本门）。如果按照次序用药后热势不退，往往会转变为惊风，自有治疗惊风的诸方。
《玉诀》中小儿伤寒惊搐歌诀：
伤寒惊搐随即产生痰涎，胃热乘虚侵袭导致遍体斑疹，两颊赤红口干皮肤受热，痰涎上涌风盛发狂言。
风盛太过的，先用解表法；痰涎实盛的，用泻下法；伤冷的，用温法；有热的，用利法。通利痰涎、调理气机，就不会有误。
《玉诀》中小儿伤寒惊搐候歌诀：
伤寒热病由胃邪攻冲，燥渴频频面色红润。这原本是病邪先传入心与肺，必须紧急解表利窍并治疗惊风。
这是伤寒在表，宜用坯煎散（方剂见本门中），接着用乌犀膏通利痰涎（方剂见急慢惊风门中）。再用药物调和营卫，切忌使用热药。
《石壁经》中三十六种夹食惊伤寒候歌诀：
脚冷头烧气机不和，渐渐生出喘急爱睡多。有时梦中须频繁抽搐，《凤髓经》说：梦中惊跳掷物。剧烈咳嗽生痰涎无可奈何。吐沫且出汗才算妙法，解热消痰去除久积之邪。出汗除惊疾病方可愈，其余平和药物用来调和。
先调理气机，其次发汗和解，和解即清利膈热，膈凉则痰涎自化，痰化则抽搐自止。
《小儿形证论》中四十八候夹惊伤寒歌诀与之相同。后面又说：此病有先受伤寒后受惊的，也有先受惊而后受伤寒的。如先受伤寒，就先退伤寒，后退惊；先受惊就先退惊。如退惊可用南星丸（方剂见伤寒变疹门中），如有余热再服一服大青膏（大青膏方未见，大青丹方见急慢惊风门中）。如退伤寒即用解表散（方剂见惊风门中），后服调胃散（方剂见积热门中）。
《保生论》中小儿伤寒并夹惊证候：脉象浮洪的伤寒者，小儿体内停聚冷乳、包嚼之食，外伤冷风于腠户。令小儿面色发黄，两颊红色，鼻塞气喘，身上寒毛竖起，鼻流清涕，咳嗽喷嚏，烦躁呕吐食物，频繁腹泻，小便如粉状，这些都是伤寒证候。如果加上睡眠中惊跳狂叫，卧不安稳，就是夹惊伤寒，宜用坯煎散并服用三次出汗，接着用镇心丸。如果只是大声喘息啼叫，是伤寒正受证候，宜用三黄散服用三次，接着用麦汤散服用三次退热。（坯煎散与《凤髓经》相同，见本门中。镇心丸方与吉氏相同，见一切惊门中。三黄散与四十八候相同，见单伤寒门中。麦汤散方见本门中。）
《博济方》治疗小儿惊风，伤寒四五日未得汗，摇头扬手上窜，多啼叫，不睡，喝水不停。铅白霜丸

以上为末。如小儿伤寒三二日壮热，不曾调理，外风把定关窍，伤寒面黄白色，壮热微渴，此是伤寒候。三、五日内，心藏热，面赤唇红，多躁壮热，热极生涎，即为惊也。元初伤风为伤寒，此候为夹惊伤寒也。如此患先下异功散二服，紫苏木瓜汤煎后，以此药半钱，水一盏，姜三片，煎至四分，温服，头面微有汗解。伤寒不退，如壮热，煎胜金散。如壮热后多睡，更烦躁口干，手足冷，此是外风把定关窍，用绵煎散一服发汗。汗出关窍通，只用异功散二服和气，更服此药解伤寒。（异功散方见胃气不和门。）

以上为末。每服半钱，蜜水调下。连进三服，出汗为度，后常服亦佳。
According to *Chao Shi Bing Yuan* (Pathogenesis of Diseases by Master Chao) regarding the syndrome of pediatric cold damage combined with fright: Cold damage is caused by cold pathogenic factors invading the skin, struggling with blood and qi, causing the cou li (skin pores and texture) to become closed and dense, preventing the release of qi. This accumulation generates heat, resulting in headache, body pain, and high fever. When combined with fright, it is because heat invades the Heart. The Heart governs blood vessels; children have weak blood and qi, making their Shen (Spirit) easily disturbed. Being overwhelmed by heat causes fright; if fright persists, it transforms into Jing Xian (fright epilepsy).
Mr. Mao recorded the syndrome of pediatric cold damage combined with fright: High fever, mania, restlessness, delirious speech, and upper-body thirst. This syndrome transmits from the fright-heat syndrome. Treatment requires urgent administration of Maidang San (Wheat Decoction Powder) three times (formula see this section), inducing slight sweating; on the next day, administer Zhusha Gao (Cinnabar Paste) twice (formula see Fright Accumulation section), gradually reducing heat; on the third day, administer Qingjin Dan (Green Gold Pill); uniformly use Yunqi San (Harmonizing Qi Powder) and Xingpi San (Awakening Spleen Powder) alternately for three days (formulas see Stomach Qi Disharmony section). On the fourth day, if latent heat remains, administer Dafu San (Great Aconite Powder) (formula see Slow Fright Wind section). Combine with Huiyang San (Returning Yang Powder) (formula see this section) for cure.
Master Wang Handong's *Jiabao* (Family Treasure) records the syndromes and formulas for cold damage combined with fright. Syndrome of cold damage combined with fright: Whole-body high fever, mental restlessness and thirst, frequent fright during sleep, restless hands and feet; redness on both cheeks, staring eyes ("Xing" sounds like 'xing', "Deng" sounds like 'zheng', meaning staring straight ahead), dark red urine. Suitable to use Bohe San (Mint Powder) two or three doses (formula see Food-Stagnation Cold Damage section) and Qingqing Dan (Light Green Gold Pill) two or three doses (formula see Single Cold Damage section), interspersed with medicines regulating stomach qi (formula see Food-Stagnation Cold Damage section), followed by Qibao Niuhuang Wan (Seven-Treasure Buffalo Calculus Pill) to treat fright and Jinlian San (Golden Lotus Powder) two or three doses to reduce heat (formulas see this section). If heat does not recede after following this sequence, it often transforms into Fright Wind, for which there are specific formulas.
From *Yu Jue* (Jade Secrets), Song on Pediatric Cold Damage with Fright and Convulsions:
Cold damage with fright and convulsions immediately produces phlegm-saliva; Stomach heat exploits deficiency causing widespread macules; cheeks red, mouth dry, skin heated; phlegm-saliva surges, wind excess leads to delirious speech.
For excessive wind, first resolve it. For solid phlegm-saliva, purge it; for cold injury, warm it; for heat, drain it. Draining phlegm-saliva and regulating qi ensures no error.
From *Yu Jue*, Song on Pediatric Cold Damage Fright-Convulsion Syndrome:
Cold damage heat disease attacks via Stomach evil; frequent dry thirst, red complexion. Originally transmitted to Heart and Lung first; urgently resolve exterior and benefit orifices to treat Fright Wind.
This is cold damage at the exterior; suitable to use Pijian San (Peeled Ginger Decoction Powder) (formula see this section), then Wuxi Gao (Black Rhinoceros Horn Paste) to drain phlegm (formula see Acute/Slow Fright Wind section). Then harmonize Ying and Wei; strictly avoid hot medicines.
From *Shi Bi Jing* (Stone Wall Classic), Song on Thirty-Six Types of Food-Stagnation Fright-Cold Damage:
Cold feet, burning head, disharmonious qi; gradually developing panting and excessive sleep. Sometimes frequent convulsions in dreams (*Feng Sui Jing* says: frightful tossing in dreams); severe coughing producing phlegm-saliva helplessly. Vomiting foam and sweating is excellent; resolving heat and eliminating phlegm removes long-standing pathogens. Sweating eliminates fright and cures the disease; remaining mild medicines are used for harmonization.
First regulate qi, then induce sweating for harmonization; harmonization clears the Diaphragm heat, cooling the Diaphragm allows phlegm-saliva to transform naturally, and transformed phlegm stops convulsions.
From *Xiao'er Xingzheng Lun* (Discussion on Infant Forms and Syndromes), the song for Forty-Eight Syndromes of Cold Damage Combined with Fright is identical. It adds: This illness may involve catching cold damage first then fright, or fright first then cold damage. If cold damage comes first, resolve cold damage first, then fright; if fright comes first, resolve fright first. To resolve fright, use Nanxing Wan (Arisaema Pill) (formula see Cold Damage Transforming into Rash section); if residual heat remains, take another dose of Daqing Gao (Greater Cyanine Paste) (Daqing Gao formula not seen, Daqing Dan formula see Acute/Slow Fright Wind section). To resolve cold damage, use Jiabiao San (Release Exterior Powder) (formula see Fright Wind section), then Tawei San (Regulate Stomach Powder) (formula see Heat Accumulation section).
From *Baosheng Lun* (Discourse on Preserving Life) on pediatric cold damage and combined fright syndrome: Pulse floating and flooding indicates cold damage. Children retain cold milk and chewed food internally, while externally injured by cold wind at the cou li. This causes yellowish complexion, red cheeks, nasal congestion, panting, goosebumps, clear nasal discharge, coughing, sneezing, irritability, vomiting food, frequent diarrhea, and urine like powder—all signs of cold damage. If accompanied by tossing and screaming in sleep and restlessness, it is cold damage combined with fright; suitable to use Pijian San three times to induce sweating, then Zhenxin Wan (Calming Heart Pill). If only loud panting and crying occur, it is standard cold damage; suitable to use Sanhuang San (Three-Yellow Powder) three times, then Maidang San three times to reduce heat. *Boji Fang* (Universal Relief Formulas) treats pediatric Fright Wind: Cold damage for four or five days without sweating, head shaking, arms raising upward, frequent crying, insomnia, incessant drinking. Lead White Frost Pill
Lead White Frost (Qianbaishuang) Cinnabar (Zhusha) Horse Tooth Nitre (Mayaxiao) Ginseng (Renshen) Indian Honeydew Melon Seed (Tianzhuhuang) Licorice (Gancao, roasted). Each half tael. Gardenia (Shanzhizi, one tael).
Grind these seven ingredients into powder, mix with refined honey to make pills sized like paulownia seeds. Take one pill per dose, dissolved in cold cooked honey water.
Mr. Mao's Qingjin Dan (Green Gold Pill) for Various Pediatric Illnesses
Indigo Naturalis (Qingdai, sifted, level coin scoop one qian) Talcum (Huashi, powdered) Arisaema (Tian Nan Xing) Clove (Dingxiang, sifted. Each two qian) Calomel (Qingfen, weight two qian) Mercury (Shuiyin, weighed two qian, first melt two qian tin in a crucible, add mercury to mix, pour onto ground, use when cool) Sichuan Croton Seed (Chuan Badou, peel skin, heart, and membrane, seventy-two pieces without defects, soak overnight in well water, hang in windy place to dry and grind).
Mix the above ingredients together, form pills with soft rice size ○, ensuring Badou oil does not leak. Use decoctions based on syndrome. For post-cold-damage accumulation, swallow with light scallion decoction.
For worm infestation (Gan), swallow with roasted beef juice. For Fright Wind, tight/hard abdomen, blue-black face, swallow with Gold/Silver Mint Scallion decoction. For food stagnation with slight heat on belly/skin, abdominal distension, night fever, resembling Gan but not quite, yellow-blue face, slightly yellow eyes. This indicates abdominal accumulation; use fourteen soap bean pods, baked in ashes, decoct one cup water to half cup. For downward expulsion of accumulation with diarrhea, swallow with fish soup; for Qi accumulation, swallow with fried fennel soup. Dosage for the above: one year old fourteen pills, three years old eighteen pills, seven years old twenty-four pills, adjust by size. Must administer at early fourth watch (3-5 AM); by dawn, accumulate will pass. Once accumulated is cleared, tonify according to syndrome. Before taking this medicine, fear of initial vomiting/diarrhea is fine; small amount of phlegm-saliva appearing is acceptable.

Grind into powder. Take one qian per dose, adjust by size, mix with wheat decoction, regulate according to syndrome.

Grind into powder, bind with glutinous rice paste into pills size ○. For ages 2-3, half pill; ages 4-5, one pill, grind down with gold/silver mint decoction. Infants within one month: one pill divided into four doses; within 100 days: one pill divided into three doses. Adjust based on child's size, strength, and severity.
Master Wang Handong's *Jiabao* treats infantile tidal fever Jinlian San (Golden Lotus Powder), also treating cold damage combined with fright.
Forsythia (Lianqiao) Gardenia (Shanzhizi, remove shell) Licorice (Gancao, roasted) Saposhnikovia (Fangfeng) Cicada Slough (Chan Ke, wash clean of dirt). Equal parts.
Grind into powder. For infants, one zi; ages 2-3, half qian; ages 4-5, one qian. Decoct with one medicinal measure or half silver cup of water, boil ten times, then serve.
Zhang Huan's Jinni Gao (Gold Mud Paste) treats cold damage evil heat overwhelming the Heart, combined with fright disease.
Acorus (Changpu, use one inch nine-joint type) Polygala (Yuanzhi, remove heart) Uncaria (Gouteng). Each one tael. Ginseng (Renshen, remove rhizome) Gentiana Scabra (Caolongdan) Licorice (Gancao, roasted). Each half tael.
Sieve all into fine powder. Next use:
Mercury (Shuiyin, one fen) Buffalo Calculus (Niuhuang, separately ground) Musk (Shexiang, ground). Each one qian. Gold Leaf (Jinbo, twenty pieces, grind mercury into mud).
Mix the above with other medicines. Use half jin honey, four liang su (clarified butter/ghee). In silver or stone pot, add two sheng water first. Remove gold mud, su, and honey aside. Add other medicines first, simmer slowly until reduced to one sheng. Filter through new silk to remove dregs. Then add su, honey, and gold mud, stir evenly. Stir constantly with willow branch until paste forms. Store in porcelain jar. One bean-sized dose, dissolve in mint decoction.
Zhang Huan's Fangfeng Tianma Gao (Saposhnikovia and Gastrodia Paste) dispels wind, calms fright, and treats cold damage combined with fright.

Grind all evenly, mix with refined honey into pills size like soap pods. Take one pill per dose, dissolve in mint decoction.
*Tongying Baojian* (Baby and Child Treasure Mirror) treats pediatric cold damage combined with fright, wind-cold, and slight food stagnation. Qianjin Wan (Thousand-Gold Pill) Formula
Cinnabar (Zhusha, powdered, weight one qian) Calomel (Nifen, one fen) Musk (Shexiang, half qian) Whole Scorpion (Quanye) White Civet Cat Dropping (Baidingxiang). Each seven pieces, powdered.
Mix evenly, bind with white rice into pills size like radish seeds. Take with mint decoction, three pills for one-year-old.
*Yu Jue* treats pediatric cold damage fright convulsions. Lijiang Bingzi (Pear Juice Cake) treats wind and drains phlegm-saliva.

Grind into powder, bind with refined honey into cakes, adjust dosage. Dissolve in pear juice mint decoction.
*Yu Jue* Pijian San (Peeled Ginger Decoction Powder) treats cold damage combined with fright and resolves fright inducing sweat.

Grind into powder. Take one qian or half qian, add five peeled ginger pieces, half cun of green onion white, decoct three to four boils. Drink whole, two or three doses, induces sweating.
*Thirty-Six Types* treats cold damage combined with fright. Baifuzi San (White Aconite Powder)

Whole Scorpion (Quanye, one and a half fen) Black Aconite (Heifuzi, processed, remove skin and navel) Realgar (Xionghuang) Notopterygium (Qianghuo). Each half tael. Gypsum (Shigao, seven qian and a half) Ephedra (Mahuang, one tael, remove joints) Camphor and Musk (Naoshe, add as desired, separately ground).
Grind into powder. Take half qian or one zi per dose, mix with mint and winter tea. Take again if heat persists.
*Feng Sui Jing* Pijian San (Peeled Ginger Decoction Powder) treats pediatric cold damage combined with fright, whole-body high fever, tossing in sleep, coughing, restlessness, frequent diarrhea.

*Baosheng Lun* Maidang San (Wheat Decoction Powder) treats pediatric Bianzheng (transformational fever), latent heat, cold damage, coughing, sneezing, body heat, red face.

Equal parts, grind into fine powder. Take half qian, one qian, or one zi per dose, take with wheat mint decoction.
*Liu Shi Jiacuan* (Liu Family Tradition) Hongmian San (Red Cotton Powder) treats pediatric cold damage combined with fright, vomiting, irritability, stifling heat/thirst, night crying, insomnia. Regularly taken, it is warm and neutral, calms the Heart, and is not cooling. After 100 days, taking one dose every six or seven days is acceptable.
Whole Scorpion (Quanye) Ginseng (Renshen) White Poria (Baifuling) Gastrodia (Tianma). Each one qian. Ephedra (Mahuang, half tael, remove joints) Large Cinnabar (Da Chensha, one qian).
Grind all into fine powder, grind Cinnabar finely, mix evenly. Take one small qian per dose, small amount of water, one mint leaf, decoct ten boils, take warm.
*Ji Shi Jiacuan* (Ji Family Tradition) treats fright, weak Stomach Qi, hand-foot convulsions after vomiting, blueness under eyes and lips, inability to eat—this is cold damage combined with fright. Meishi Zi Gao (Myrobalan Stone Paste)
Myrobalan Stone (Meishi Zi, three pieces, raw use) Ginseng (Renshen) Chebula (Hezi, processed) Atractylodes Alba (Baizhu). Each two qian. Clove (Dingxiang, five or seven pieces) Licorice (Gancao, roasted, half tael) Cyperus (Xiangfu, thirty-seven pieces, remove skin).
Grind evenly, boil pork meat, pound thoroughly into pills size like paulownia seeds. If unable to eat, take with Atractylodes decoction.
*Ji Shi Jiacuan* treats cold damage combined with fright. Tieshua San (Iron Brush Powder)
Ephedra (Mahuang, remove roots and joints, one tael) Licorice (Gancao, roasted, half tael) Asarum (Xixin, half tael) Gypsum (Shigao) Lepidium (Tingli) Green Citrus Peel (Qingpi). Each one fen. Apricot Kernels (Xingren, twelve pieces).
Grind into powder. If pediatric cold damage has high fever for two or three days without regulation, external wind locks the orifices, cold damage presents with yellow-white face, high fever with slight thirst—this is cold damage syndrome. Within three to five days, Heart organ heat, red face, red lips, much restlessness/high fever, extreme heat generates phlegm-saliva, becoming fright. Originally wind injury became cold damage; this syndrome is cold damage combined with fright. For such cases, first administer Yigong San (Extraordinary Merit Powder) two doses, decocted with Perilla and Papaya Soup, then take half qian of this medicine with one cup water, three slices ginger, decoct to four parts, take warm, slight sweat on head/face resolves. If cold damage does not recede, especially with high fever, decoct Shengjin San (Winning Gold Powder). If after high fever there is excessive sleep, more restlessness, dry mouth, cold hands/feet—this is external wind locking orifices; use Mianjian San (Cotton Decoction Powder) one dose to induce sweat. When sweat appears and orifices open, only use Yigong San two doses to harmonize Qi, then take this medicine to resolve cold damage. (Yigong San formula see Stomach Qi Disharmony section.)
*Ji Shi Jiacuan* Shengjin San (Winning Gold Powder) treats pediatric cold damage, heat-induced Fright Wind, chickenpox/smallpox rashes, tidal fever.
Arisaema (Tian Nan Xing, one tael) White Aconite (Baifuzi, half tael) Realgar (Xionghuang, one qian).
Grind into powder. Take one qian per dose, one cup water, three cun green onion white, decoct together to three parts, divide into three administrations, three doses total.
*Ji Shi Jiacuan* treats cold damage heat reduction. Mianjian San (Cotton Decoction Powder)
Ephedra (Mahuang, remove joints, one tael) Gastrodia (Tianma) Perilla (Zisu) Arisaema (Tian Nan Xing, fried in oil until red) Silkworm (Jiangcan). Each half tael.
Grind into powder. Pediatric cold damage Fright Wind, patient high fever red face, lethargy headache, no appetite. Use one cup water, half qian medicine, one piece cotton, take with mint decoction.
