According to *Chao Shi Bing Yuan* (Source of Diseases by Chao Yuanfang) regarding the condition of *Cunbai* worms (Tapeworms) in children: *Cunbai* is one of the nine types of parasites. It is about one cun long, white in color, and small and flat in shape. It arises due to the weakness of the fu and zang organs. Some say it is caused by drinking white wine; others claim it results from eating beef roasted on mulberry branches along with raw millet; still others suggest that consuming dairy products immediately after eating raw fish can cause them. When active, these worms deplete the body's essence and qi, causing pain and weakness in the lower back and legs. It is also said that if a worm grows to one chi long, it can be fatal.
*Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang* (Formulas of the Holy Benefit of the Taiping Era) states: Children suffering from *Cunbai* worms are mostly affected by excessive consumption of sweet, rich, and fatty foods, as well as overindulgence in cold and raw foods. When active, these worms damage the internal organs, preventing food from transforming into muscle and tissue. They reproduce endlessly. If a worm reaches one chi in length, it becomes harmful to the human body.
*Qian Jin Fang* (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) formula for treating *Cunbai* worms.
Take one handful of pomegranate root from the east-facing side of the tree, add one sheng of water, boil until reduced to three ge, and divide into doses for administration.
Another formula from *Qian Jin Fang*:
Crush peach leaves, extract the juice, and administer orally.
*Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang* formula for pediatric *Cunbai* worms persisting for years, presenting with pallor, emaciation, and weakness. Qingdai San (Indigo Powder):
Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis), Qieshi (Artemisiae argyi Fructus or similar parasitic herb, typically Qieshi refers to *Dipsaci Radix* or *Artemisia* seeds depending on context, here likely *Qieshi* as antiparasitic), each 1 fen; Binglang (Arecae Semen), 1 piece; Kulian Gen (Meliae Cortex), 1 liang, slightly roasted and chopped.
Pulverize the above ingredients and sieve finely to make a powder. Before taking the medicine, consume a small amount of plain dried meat first, then mix half qian of the powder with congee broth for oral administration. Adjust dosage according to the child's age. Administer two to three times daily.
Another formula from *Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang*:
Zhusha (Cinnabar), Shexiang (Moschus), each 1 qian; Kulian Zi Rou (Kernel of Melia Toosendan Fruit), 1 liang, stir-fried with glutinous rice until the rice is cooked.
Grind all ingredients to a fine powder, moisten with water, and mix with steamed bread dough to form pills the size of mustard seeds. Take seven pills on an empty stomach, using cold water in spring and summer, and warm water in autumn and winter. Adjust dosage according to the child's age.
*Binglang San* (Areca Powder) from *Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang* for chronic pediatric *Cunbai* worms:
Binglang (Arecae Semen), 2 pieces, powdered; Zhuya Zaojiao (Gleditsiae Sinensis Spina), 3 pieces, charred; Kulian Zi (Fructus Meliae Toosendae), 5 pieces, powdered.
Grind the above ingredients together into a powder. Take half qian on an empty stomach, mixed with decoction of the white bark of Kulian root. After two or three doses, the worms will pass naturally. Adjust dosage according to the child's age.
Another formula from *Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang*:
Qieshi (Herba Siegesbeckiae or similar), Leiwan (Wanillospermum), Shijunzi (Quisqualis Fructus), each 3 fen; Badou (Crotonis Fructus), 10 pieces, skin and heart removed, ground, wrapped in paper to press out the oil.
Pulverize the above ingredients, sieve into powder, and bind with glutinous rice paste to form pills the size of mung beans. Take three pills per dose with sugar water. Adjust dosage according to the child's age.
Zhang Huan's Bijin San (Emerald-Gold Powder): For treating children passing worms in stool and suffering from *Cunbai* worms.

Hao Qingdai (Optimal Indigo Naturalis), 0.5 liang, finely ground; Shexiang (Moschus), 1 fen, finely ground.
Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Take one zi measure per dose, administered with decoction of lean pork broth, at any time.
*Zhang Shi Jia Chuan* (Zhang Family Transmission) formula for adults and children with abdominal worms named *Cunbai*, sized like gourd seeds, causing emaciation and frailty, for cases unresponsive to treatment:
Mituo Seng (Lithargyrum), 1 qian, finely ground; Qingfen (Calomelas), a small amount.
Each morning before eating, allow the patient to feel slightly hungry. Mix with raw sesame oil and ingest vigorously in two or three mouthfuls. After one or two shichen (2-4 hours), the mother worm will be expelled, potentially several chi long, permanently removing the root cause.
