《圣惠》∶夫小儿惊疳者，由心脏实热之所致也。凡小儿襁褓之内，血气未调，脏腑细微，骨木轻软，因
其乳哺不时，致生壅滞。内有积热，不得宣通，心神多惊，睡卧不稳，胸膈烦闷，口舌生疮，颊赤面黄，发枯
皮燥、多渴吃水不止，乳食渐微，久而不全，体瘦壮热，故名惊疳也。
《仙人水鉴》治小儿惊疳，朱砂丸。五岁至十五岁，并宜服之。
朱砂（三钱，研） 青黛（一两，研） 黄连 郁金（为末） 夜明砂（炒焦黑。各半
两） 麝香 熊胆（用冷水一鸡子多，浸一宿。各一钱）
上同研如粉，次入浸熊胆，水和为丸如绿豆大。空心、临卧，金银薄荷汤下三丸至五丸。忌生冷、油腻，
神效。

上件药捣，罗为末，用夜明砂半两，糯米中炒熟为度，去米入汤，细研夜明砂为糊，入诸药末同研令匀，
丸如绿豆大。三岁以下淡生姜汤下三丸，以上加五丸，不得多服。

上件药都研令匀，以米饭和丸如麻子大。一、二岁每服用粥饮下三丸；三、四岁每服五丸，日二、三服。

拈入水内，总了控出，去黑皮及油用）
上件药并须精好，都研令匀，用水浸，蒸饼和丸如黄米大。每服以粥饮下一丸，日二服，相利为效。

胡黄连（末，一分） 天竺黄（半两） 芦荟 熊胆 腻粉（各半钱） 脑麝 牛黄 雄

上件药都细研如粉，用软饭和为丸如粟粒大。每服以粥饮下五丸，日三服。

上件药捣，罗为末，入研了药令匀，以烧饭和丸如黍米大。每服以温水下五丸，日三服。
《圣惠》治小儿惊疳，腹中有癖气，夜啼不止。牛黄丸方
牛黄（细研） 人参（去芦头） 柏子仁 茯神 赤芍药 羌活（各一分） 柴胡（去
苗） 川大黄（锉，微炒） 蛇蜕皮（烧灰） 大麻仁 鳖
甲（涂醋，炙令黄，去裙 ） 槟榔（各半两） 蚱蝉（二七枚，去翅足，微炒）
上件药捣，罗为末，都研令匀，炼蜜和丸如绿豆大。每一岁于乳食前以粥饮下一丸。
太医局熊胆丸 杀疳退惊，治壮热昏愦，呕吐痰涎，颊赤面黄，鼻干目涩，有时盗汗；或
即虚惊，荏苒不除，乳食不进方。

上件一处同研匀，用白面糊丸如黍米大。每服五丸至七丸，米饮下，不计时候服。
《谭氏殊圣》治小儿惊疳黄龙丸方
胡黄连（一两） 麝香 牛黄 朱砂（各一钱）
上为末，用猪胆为丸如麻子大。用薄荷汤下三丸至五丸。多泪亦可服。
钱乙大胡黄连丸 治一切惊疳，腹胀虫动，好吃泥土、生米，不思饮食，多睡， 脏
腑，或秘或泻，肌肤黄
瘦，毛焦发黄，饮水，五心烦热。能杀虫，消进饮食，治疮癣，常服不泻痢方。
胡黄连 黄连 苦楝子（各一两） 白芜荑（去扇，半两。秋初三分） 芦荟（别
研） 干蟾头（烧存性，别研。各一两） 麝香（一钱，别研） 青
黛（一两半，别研）
上先将前四味为细末，猪胆汁和为剂，每一胡桃大，入巴豆仁一枚置其中，用油单一重裹之，蒸熟去巴豆，
用米一升许，蒸米熟为度；入后四味为丸，如难丸少入面糊，丸麻子大。每服十丸、十五丸，清米饮下。食
后、临卧，日进三、二服。
张涣参黄丹 治惊疳挟热，夜卧惊悸方。
人参 胡黄连 天竺黄（半两，研） 干蝎（二十一个，微炒） 天浆子（二、七个，干者，微炒）
以上为细末。次入∶青黛 朱砂（各一分） 龙脑（一钱，并细研）
上件一处拌匀，炼蜜和丸如黍米大。每服十粒，人参汤下。量儿大小加减。
张涣又方天竺黄丹
天竺黄（一两，细研） 晚蚕蛾 白僵蚕（各微炒） 川黄连（各半两）
以上捣，罗为细末。次用∶朱砂 青黛 麝香（各细研）
上件拌匀，粳米饭和丸如黍米大。每服七粒至十粒，煎人参汤下。量儿大小加减。
《万全方》治小儿心疳，体热黄瘦。真珠散
真珠（末） 麦门冬（去心。各半两） 金银箔（各研，五十片） 天竺黄 牛黄 麝香（各细研） 胡
黄连 甘草（炙） 羚羊角（屑） 川大
黄（炒） 当归（微炒） 朱砂 雄黄（研） 茯神 犀角（屑。各三分）
上捣，罗为散。每服以茵陈汤调半钱。量儿大小服之。
《万全方》治小儿心疳肚热，及睡中多汗，神思烦躁，多惊。铁粉丸
铁粉（研，三分） 麝香（一钱，研） 牛黄（半分，研入） 朱砂 天竺黄 青
黛蛇黄 熊胆（各研） 人参 茯苓 使君子 黄连（并为末。各一分）
上件药都研令匀，以粟米饭和丸如麻子大。一、二岁每服三丸，以粥饮下；至三、四岁每服五丸，日二服。
《庄氏家传》治小儿惊疳。常服诸疾不生，皮肉光润。保生丸方
干虾蟆头（一个大者，温水洗七遍，晒干，涂酥，炙令黄熟） 宣连 胡黄连 人参 使君子（各半两）
先以五味一处捣，罗为末。
香墨（二两，细研） 朱砂 芦荟（各细研，半两） 好麝香（一分，细研）
上九味再一处同研匀细，用 猪胆汁浸，蒸饼心为丸如黄米大。每服十丸至十五丸，清粥饮下，日三、二
服，煎竹叶甘草汤下亦得。
《庄氏家传》治小儿惊疳。龙脑丸方
脑麝 牛黄 芦荟 雄黄 熊胆 青黛（各研） 宣连 朱砂（水飞。各一分） 胡黄连 没石子（各半两）
上件药为末，再研，炼宣州苦蜜和丸如绿豆大。每服五丸至七丸，薄荷汤或米饮、新水下亦得。
《吉氏家传》治惊风疳方。
麝香（半字） 辰砂（一字） 真阿魏（半钱）
上阿魏先研，次二味同细研，入少汤，丸如麻子大。每服三、五丸，金银薄荷汤下，须臾吐泻妙。
《朱氏家传》治小儿肚大项小，即是惊疳方。
钩藤 甘草（各二分） 人参 栝蒌（各一分）
上件为末。以水一茶碗，入药二钱，煎取一大合，去滓重煎，温服。
长沙医者郑愈传治惊疳，冷泻，霍乱、吐泻痢。调中平气。
人参 藿香 黄橘皮（各二钱） 木香 丁香 胡椒（各二、七粒） 茯苓 良姜（各一钱半） 甘
草（三钱，炙） 诃子（二个，取肉）
上件为末。每服一字或半钱，薄荷汤下。吐泻，粥饮下。
（亦称为心疳）
《太平圣惠方》记载：小儿惊疳，是由心脏实热所致。凡是尚在襁褓中的婴儿，气血尚未调和，脏腑娇嫩细小，骨骼轻软，因为哺乳喂养不定时，导致体内气机壅滞。内有积热，无法宣通散发，心神容易受惊，睡眠卧躺不安稳，胸膈部烦闷，口舌生疮，两颊发红面色发黄，头发枯槁皮肤干燥，口渴喝水不止，吃奶进食逐渐减少，时间久了身体发育不全，形体消瘦且伴有壮热，所以称为惊疳。
《仙人水鉴》治疗小儿惊疳，使用朱砂丸。五岁至十五岁的患儿，都适宜服用此药。
药材及剂量：朱砂（三钱，研磨）、青黛（一两，研磨）、黄连、郁金（研为细末）、夜明砂（炒至焦黑，各半两）、麝香、熊胆（用超过一个鸡蛋量的冷水浸泡一夜，各一钱）。
将上述药物共同研磨成粉状，然后加入浸泡过的熊胆液，用水调和制成如绿豆大小的丸剂。空腹时和临睡前，用金银薄荷汤送服三丸至五丸。忌食生冷、油腻食物，疗效神奇。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿惊疳，表现为身体发热、面色萎黄消瘦的，使用真珠散方。
药材及剂量：真珠（研末，半两）、金银箔（分别细研，各五十片）、没石子（一枚）、犀角（锉屑）、羚羊角（锉屑）、天竺黄、朱砂、雄黄、牛黄、麝香（均细研）、甘草（炙至微赤，切碎）、川大黄、当归（均切碎，微炒）、胡黄连（各一分）。
将上述药物捣碎，过细筛成为散剂。每次服用半钱，用茵陈汤调服，每日三次。根据患儿年龄大小增减剂量服用。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿惊疳，表现为心神烦躁、身体发热消瘦、睡眠卧躺不安的，使用龙脑丸方。
药材及剂量：龙脑（冰片）、牛黄、雄黄、芦荟、熊胆、青黛（均细研，各一钱）、麝香、腻粉、蟾酥（均研，各半分）、天竺黄、朱砂（均细研）、雀儿饭瓮中的胡黄连（各一分）、蜗牛（三至七枚，微炒）。
将上述药物捣碎，过筛成为粉末，混合均匀后用水浸泡，与蒸饼混合制成如绿豆大小的丸剂。不拘时候，用薄荷汤送服三丸。根据患儿年龄大小酌情增减。
药材及剂量：青黛（半两，细研）、干蝎（五枚，微炒）、白附子（炮裂）、天竺黄、芦荟、牛黄、麝香（均细研）、胡黄连、地龙（微炒，各一分）。
将上述药物捣碎，过筛成为粉末，用半两夜明砂在糯米中炒熟，去掉米粒，将夜明砂研成糊状，加入诸药粉末混合均匀，制成如绿豆大小的丸剂。三岁以下患儿用淡生姜汤送服三丸，三岁以上加至五丸，不可多服。
药材及剂量：芦荟（半两，细研）、龙脑（二分，细研）、麝香、熊胆（均细研）、黄连（去须）、蛇蜕皮（烧灰）、蜣螂（去翅足，微炒）、蝉壳、地龙（均微炒）、蜗牛（炒至微黄）、田父（即田螺，炙至黄，各一分）。
将上述药物捣碎，过筛成为粉末，用炼蜜调和制成如绿豆大小的丸剂。每次服用五丸，用粥饮送服。再根据患儿年龄大小增减剂量。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿惊疳，表现为心热抽搐、胸膈多涎液不进食的，使用龙脑丸方。
药材及剂量：脑麝（即冰片和麝香，均细研，各一钱）、蟾酥、腻粉（研入半钱）、金箔（十四片，细研）、天竺黄（细研）、干竭（即干蝎，微炒）、犀角（屑）、胡黄连、甜葶苈（隔纸炒至紫色，各半两）、牛黄、雄黄、熊胆、芦荟、朱砂、青黛（均细研）、真珠（研末，研入）、天浆子（微炒）、田父（炙微黄）、土蜂窠（各一分）。
将上述药物捣碎，过筛成为粉末，用糯米饭调和制成如绿豆大小的丸剂。每次服用三丸，用薄荷汤送服，以出汗并吐出涎液为见效标志。三岁以上患儿增加丸数服用。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿惊疳，表现为肌肤羸瘦、心神烦热、口鼻患疳疮的，宜服用青黛丸方。
药材及剂量：青黛、牛黄、麝香、芦荟、朱砂、雄黄（均细研）、犀角（屑）、真珠（研末）、琥珀（研末）、胡黄连（各一分）、蟾酥（一杏仁大，研入）、夜明砂（微炒）、瓜蒂（各一分）、龙脑（半钱，细研）、干蟾（一枚，烧灰）、蝉壳（七枚，微炒）、虎睛（一对，酒浸一夜，微炙）、母丁香（十枚）、蜣螂（二枚，用大麦面作饼包裹，烧灰）。
将上述药物捣碎，过筛成为粉末，全部研磨均匀，用猪胆汁调和制成如黍米大小的丸剂。每次服用两丸，用奶汁化开。一丸滴入患儿鼻中，一丸灌入口内，立即见效。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿惊疳，表现为眼热涩痛、嗜睡、心悸不安、肌肉黄瘦的，使用虎睛丸方。
药材及剂量：虎睛（一对，酒浸，炙至黄色）、山栀子（去皮）、天竺黄（细研）、犀角（屑，以上各半两）、子芩（黄芩）、川大黄（切碎，微炒，各一两）、麝香（细研）、巴豆（去皮心，研，用纸包裹压去油）、真珠（研末）、牛黄（细研，各一分）、龙胆（去芦头）、黄矾（烧至通红，各三分）。
将上述药物捣碎，过筛成为粉末，全部研磨均匀，用炼蜜调和制成如麻子大小的丸剂。每次服用三丸，用奶汁送服。根据患儿年龄大小加减剂量。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿惊疳，表现为乳食停滞、身体发热头脑干燥、睡中惊悸的，使用天竺黄丸方。
药材及剂量：天竺黄、雄黄、熊胆、麝香、朱砂、芦荟（均细研）、干蝎（微炒）、犀角（屑）、胡黄连、丁香（各一分）、龙脑（一钱，细研）、蟾酥（一杏仁大，研入）、巴豆（三粒，去皮心，用纸包裹压去油）。
将上述药物捣碎，过筛成为粉末，加入已研好的药物混合均匀，用糯米饮调和制成如绿豆大小的丸剂。每次空腹时，用温水送服三丸。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿惊疳壮热及睡中多汗，心神烦躁，易受惊的，使用铁粉丸方。
药材及剂量：铁粉（三分，细研）、麝香（一钱，细研）、朱砂、天竺黄、青黛、熊胆、蛇黄（均细研）、使君子（研末）、黄连（以上各一分）。
将上述药物全部研磨均匀，用米饭调和制成如麻子大小的丸剂。一至二岁患儿每次用粥饮送服三丸；三至四岁患儿每次服用五丸，每日二至三次。
药材及剂量：使君子（十枚）、田父（三枚，炙微黄）、黄连（半两，去须）、雄黄、麝香、朱砂（均细研，各一分）。
将上述药物捣碎，过筛成为粉末，加入已研好的药物混合均匀，用糯米饭调和制成如绿豆大小的丸剂。一周岁患儿用粥饮送服一丸，每日三次。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿惊疳，遍身壮热，痰涎不利畅的，使用青黛丸方。
药材及剂量：青黛（半两）、脑麝（冰片和麝香）、腻粉、晚蚕蛾（微炒）、蟾酥（各半分）、白僵蚕（一分，研末）。
将上述药物全部细研为粉末，用炼蜜调和制成如黍米大小的丸剂。每次服用时，用薄荷汤调服半分腻粉，化开两丸服用。以吐出泻出粘腻恶物为度。根据患儿年龄大小酌情增减。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿惊疳，表现为心悸壮热，手足抽搐掣动的，使用牛黄丸方。
药材及剂量：牛黄、雄黄、天竺黄、朱砂（均细研）、犀角（屑）、蝉壳、干蝎（均微炒，各半分）、蜗牛（三至七枚，炒至黄色）、天浆子（三至七枚）。
将上述药物捣碎，过筛成为粉末，全部研磨均匀，用炼蜜调和制成如绿豆大小的丸剂。每次服用五丸，用薄荷汤送服。视患儿年龄大小临时增减。
《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿惊疳，身体壮热，发作间歇不定，腹部壅闷的，宜服用腻粉丸方。
药材及剂量：腻粉、麝香（细研，各一分）、蟾酥（半钱）、牛黄、朱砂（均细研，各一分）、巴豆（二十枚，用一小盏油，在铫子内煎，待油热，将巴豆一个个投入油内，炸响者捞出放入水中，总括取出，去掉黑皮及油备用）。
上述药物必须精好，全部研磨均匀，用水浸泡，与蒸饼调和制成如黄米大小的丸剂。每次服用一丸，用粥饮送服，每日两次，以轻微腹泻为见效标志。
药材及剂量：胡黄连（研末，一分）、天竺黄（半两）、芦荟、熊胆、腻粉（各半钱）、脑麝（冰片和麝香）、牛黄、雄黄、朱砂（各一钱）。
将上述药物全部细研如粉状，用软饭调和制成如粟粒大小的丸剂。每次服用五丸，用粥饮送服，每日三次。

《太平圣惠方》治疗小儿惊疳，腹中有癖气，夜间啼哭不止的，使用牛黄丸方。
药材及剂量：牛黄（细研）、人参（去芦头）、柏子仁、茯神、赤芍药、羌活（各一分）、柴胡（去苗）、川大黄（切碎，微炒）、蛇蜕皮（烧灰）、大麻仁、鳖甲（涂醋，炙至黄，去裙边）、槟榔（各半两）、蚱蝉（十四枚，去翅足，微炒）。

将上述药物研为粉末，用猪胆汁调和制成如麻子大小的丸剂。用薄荷汤送服三丸至五丸。流泪多者也可服用。
钱乙大胡黄连丸 治疗一切惊疳，腹胀虫动，好吃泥土、生米，不思饮食，多睡，脏腑功能失调，或便秘或腹泻，肌肤黄瘦，毛发焦黄干枯，饮水，五心烦热。能杀虫，增进饮食，治疗疮癣，常服不致泻痢的配方。
药材及剂量：胡黄连、黄连、苦楝子（各一两）、白芜荑（去扇叶，半两，秋初采三分）、芦荟（别研）、干蟾头（烧存性，别研，各一两）、麝香（一钱，别研）、青黛（一两半，别研）。
先将前四味药研为细末，用猪胆汁和成剂，每一胡桃大小，中间放入一枚巴豆仁，用油纸单层包裹，蒸熟后去掉巴豆，用约一升米，蒸米熟为度；加入后四味药制成丸剂，如果难制丸可少入面糊，制成麻子大小。每次服用十丸、十五丸，用清米饮送服。饭后、临睡前，每日进二三服。

《万全方》治疗小儿心疳肚热，及睡中多汗，神思烦躁，多惊的铁粉丸。
药材及剂量：铁粉（研，三分）、麝香（一钱，研）、牛黄（半分，研入）、朱砂、天竺黄、青黛、蛇黄、熊胆（均研）、人参、茯苓、使君子、黄连（并为末，各一分）。
将上述药物全部研磨均匀，用粟米饭调和制成如麻子大小的丸剂。一至二岁患儿每次服用三丸，用粥饮送服；至三至四岁患儿每次服用五丸，每日二次。
《庄氏家传》治疗小儿惊疳。常服可使诸疾不生，皮肉光润的保生丸方。
药材及剂量：干虾蟆头（一个大者，温水洗七遍，晒干，涂酥，炙令黄熟）、宣连（黄连）、胡黄连、人参、使君子（各半两）。
先将五味药一处捣碎，过筛成为粉末。
香墨（二两，细研）、朱砂、芦荟（均细研，各半两）、好麝香（一分，细研）。
将上述九味药再一处同研均匀细，用猪胆汁浸泡，用蒸饼心制成如黄米大小的丸剂。每次服用十丸至十五丸，用清粥饮送服，每日二三服，煎竹叶甘草汤送服也可以。
药材及剂量：脑麝（冰片和麝香）、牛黄、芦荟、雄黄、熊胆、青黛（均研）、宣连（黄连）、朱砂（水飞，各一分）、胡黄连、没石子（各半两）。
将上述药物为粉末，再研，用炼宣州苦蜜调和制成如绿豆大小的丸剂。每次服用五丸至七丸，用薄荷汤或米饮、新水送服也可以。
《吉氏家传》治疗惊风疳方。
药材及剂量：麝香（半字）、辰砂（一字）、真阿魏（半钱）。
将阿魏先研，其次两种药同细研，入少许汤，制成如麻子大小的丸剂。每次服用三、五丸，用金银薄荷汤送服，须臾间吐泻出病邪甚妙。
将上述药物为粉末。用水一茶碗，入药二钱，煎取一大合，去滓重煎，温服。
药材及剂量：人参、藿香、黄橘皮（各二钱）、木香、丁香、胡椒（各二、七粒）、茯苓、良姜（各一钱半）、甘草（三钱，炙）、诃子（二个，取肉）。

Infants within swaddling clothes have unregulated Qi and Blood, delicate and fine Zang-Fu organs, and light, soft bones. Irregular breastfeeding leads to internal stagnation. Accumulated heat within cannot be vented and circulated; the Heart Spirit is easily startled, sleep and rest are unstable, there is chest and diaphragm oppression and irritability, sores appear on the mouth and tongue, cheeks are red while the face is yellow, hair is withered and skin dry, excessive thirst with incessant water drinking, milk and food intake gradually decrease, and over time physical development is incomplete. The body becomes emaciated with high fever, hence it is called Jing Kan.
*Xianren Shuijian* treats pediatric Jing Kan using Zhusha Wan (Cinnabar Pill). It is suitable for children aged five to fifteen years.
Ingredients: Zhusha (Cinnabaris, 3 qian, ground), Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis, 1 liang, ground), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Yujin (Curcumae Radix) [ground into powder], Yeming Sha (Felis Nigrorhynchi Faex, fried until scorched black, each 0.5 liang), Shexiang (Moscus, Xiongdan (Ursi Bile), soaked overnight in cold water exceeding the volume of one chicken egg, each 1 qian).
Grind all ingredients together into a powder. Then add the soaked Xiongdan liquid, mix with water, and form pills the size of mung beans. Take 3 to 5 pills on an empty stomach and before bed, washed down with Yinjin Bohe Tang (Silver and Mint Decoction). Avoid raw, cold, and greasy foods. The effect is miraculous.
*Taiping Shenghui Fang* treats pediatric Jing Kan presenting with body heat, jaundice, and emaciation using Zhenzhu San (Pearl Powder).

Ingredients: Huhuanglian (Scutellariae Barbatae Radix, 1 liang), Shexiang (Moscus), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis), Zhusha (Cinnabaris, each 1 qian).
Grind into powder, mix with pig bile to form pills the size of hemp seeds. Take 3-5 pills with Bohe Tang (Mint Decoction). Also suitable for excessive tearing.
Qian Yi Da Huhuanglian Wan (Qian Yi's Large Scutellariae Barbatae Radix Pill) treats all types of Jing Kan, abdominal distension with worm movement, craving dirt/raw rice, anorexia, excessive sleep, Zang-Fu dysfunction, constipation or diarrhea, yellow/emaciated skin, dry/yellow hair, thirst, five-palm heat. Kills worms, promotes appetite, treats sores/tinea, long-term use prevents diarrhea/dysentery.
Ingredients: Huhuanglian (Scutellariae Barbatae Radix), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Kulianzi (Meliae Toosendan Fructus, each 1 liang), Bai Wuyi (Euodiae Fructus, remove seeds, 0.5 liang, harvested early autumn, 3 parts), Lvhua (Aloe, separately ground), Ganchan Tou (Toad Head, burned to retain nature, separately ground, each 1 liang), Shexiang (Moscus, 1 qian, separately ground), Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis, 1.5 liang, separately ground).
First, grind the first four ingredients into fine powder. Mix with pig bile to form a paste. Make each walnut-sized ball, insert one Badou Ren (Crotonis Fructus Kernel) inside, wrap in single-layer oiled paper, steam until cooked, remove Badou. Use approx. 1 sheng of rice, steam rice until cooked. Add the last four ingredients to form pills the size of hemp seeds (add little flour paste if difficult to form). Take 10-15 pills per dose with clear grain drink. After meals and before bed, 2-3 doses daily.
Zhang Huan Canhuang Dan (Zhang Huan's Ginseng and Coptis Pill) treats Jing Kan with accompanying heat, startle/palpitations during night sleep.
Ingredients: Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Huhuanglian (Scutellariae Barbatae Radix), Tianzhuhuang (Bambusae Latex, 0.5 liang, ground), Ganxie (Dried Scorpion, 21 pieces, slightly stir-fried), Tianjiangzi (Passeris Hirundo Nest, 2-7 pieces, dried, slightly stir-fried).
Grind above into fine powder. Then add: Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis), Zhusha (Cinnabaris, each 1 fen), Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum, 1 qian, finely ground).
Mix uniformly, combine with refined honey to form pills the size of millet seeds. Take 10 pills per dose with Renshen Tang (Ginseng Decoction). Adjust dosage according to child's age and size.
Zhang Huan Another Formula Tianzhuhuang Dan (Zhang Huan's Bambusae Latex Pill)
Ingredients: Tianzhuhuang (Bambusae Latex, 1 liang, finely ground), Wancan'e (Silkworm), Baijiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus, both slightly stir-fried), Chuan Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, each 0.5 liang).
Pound above, sift into fine powder. Then add: Zhusha (Cinnabaris), Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis), Shexiang (Moscus) [all finely ground].
Mix uniformly, combine with japonica rice flour to form pills the size of millet seeds. Take 7-10 pills per dose, washed down with boiled Renshen Tang (Ginseng Decoction). Adjust dosage according to child's age and size.
*Wan Quan Fang* treats pediatric Heart Kan with body heat, yellow/emaciated appearance, Zhenzhu San (Pearl Powder).
Ingredients: Zhenzhu (Nacre, powdered), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix, remove heart, each 0.5 liang), Jinyinbo (Gold and Silver Leaf, ground, 50 pieces each), Tianzhuhuang (Bambusae Latex), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis), Shexiang (Moscus) [all finely ground], Huhuanglian (Scutellariae Barbatae Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, roasted), Lingyangjiao (Saigae Tataricae Cornu, shaved), Chuan Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, stir-fried), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, slightly stir-fried), Zhusha (Cinnabaris), Xionghuang (Realgar, ground), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood), Xijiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu, shaved, each 3 fen).
Pound, sift into powder. Each dose: mix half a qian with Yinchen Tang (Artemisiae Scopariae Decoction). Adjust dosage according to child's age and size.
*Wan Quan Fang* treats pediatric Heart Kan with abdominal heat, night sweats, mental irritability, and frequent startling, Tiefen Wan (Iron Powder Pill).
Ingredients: Tiefen (Plumbum Metallicum, ground, 3 fen), Shexiang (Moscus, 1 qian, ground), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis, 0.5 fen, added after grinding), Zhusha (Cinnabaris), Tianzhuhuang (Bambusae Latex), Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis), Shehuang (Reptilis Venenum), Xiongdan (Ursi Bile) [all ground], Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Fuling (Poria), Shijunzi (Quisqualis Fructus), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) [all made into powder, each 1 fen].
Grind all medicines uniformly, mix with foxtail millet rice to form pills the size of hemp seeds. For 1-2 year olds, take 3 pills per dose with porridge drink; for 3-4 year olds, take 5 pills per dose, twice daily.
*Zhuang Shi Jia Chuan* treats pediatric Jing Kan. Long-term use prevents various diseases, keeps skin/flesh smooth and lustrous, Baosheng Wan (Life-Preserving Pill).
Ingredients: Gan Xama Tou (Dried Toad Head, large one, wash 7 times with warm water, dry, coat with butter, roast until yellow/cooked), Xuanlian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Huhuanglian (Scutellariae Barbatae Radix), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Shijunzi (Quisqualis Fructus, each 0.5 liang).
First, pound the five flavors together, sift into powder.
Xiangmo (Ink Stick, 2 liang, finely ground), Zhusha (Cinnabaris), Lvhua (Aloe) [both finely ground, 0.5 liang each], Hao Shexiang (Good Moscus, 1 fen, finely ground).
Grind these nine ingredients uniformly and finely. Soak in pig bile, mix with center of steamed dough to form pills the size of millet. Take 10-15 pills per dose with clear porridge drink, 2-3 times daily. Also acceptable with Zhu Ye Gancao Tang (Bamboo Leaf and Licorice Decoction).
*Zhuang Shi Jia Chuan* treats pediatric Jing Kan, Longnao Wan (Borneol Pill).
Ingredients: Naoshe (Borneolum Syntheticum and Moscus), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis), Lvhua (Aloe), Xionghuang (Realgar), Xiongdan (Ursi Bile), Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis) [all ground], Xuanlian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Zhusha (Cinnabaris, water-washed, each 1 fen), Huhuanglian (Scutellariae Barbatae Radix), Moshizi (Galla Chinensis, each 0.5 liang).
Make into powder, re-grind. Mix with refined bitter honey from Xuanzhou to form pills the size of mung beans. Take 5-7 pills per dose. Also acceptable with Bohe Tang (Mint Decoction), grain drink, or fresh water.
*Ji Shi Jia Chuan* treats Jing Feng Kan (Startle Wind Kan).
Ingredients: Shexiang (Moscus, half zi), Chen Sha (Chen Cinnabar, one zi), Zhen Awei (True Asafetida, 0.5 qian).
Grind Asafetida first, then grind the other two ingredients finely together. Add a little water, form pills the size of hemp seeds. Take 3-5 pills per dose with Yinjin Bohe Tang (Silver and Mint Decoction). Vomiting/purging shortly after is excellent.
*Zhu Shi Jia Chuan* treats pediatric abdominal distension with thin neck, indicative of Jing Kan.
Ingredients: Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus cum Uncis), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, each 2 fen), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Gualou (Trichosanthis Fructus, each 1 fen).
Make into powder. Use one tea bowl of water, add 2 qian of medicine. Boil to obtain one large unit (he), filter dregs, re-boil, and take warm.
Changsha physician Zheng Yu's transmission treats Jing Kan, cold diarrhea, cholera, vomiting/diarrhea/dysentery. Regulates middle jiao, calms Qi.
Ingredients: Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Huoxiang (Agastaches Herba), Huang Ju pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, each 2 qian), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Dingxiang (Syzygii Aromatici Flos), Hujiao (Piperis Longi Fructus, each 2-7 grains), Fuling (Poria), Liangjiang (Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma, each 1.5 qian), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 3 qian, roasted), Hezi (Terminalia Chebulae Fructus, 2 pieces, take flesh).
Make into powder. Each dose: half a zi or 0.5 qian, washed down with Bohe Tang (Mint Decoction). If vomiting/diarrhea occurs, take with porridge drink.
