(Also known as Liver Gan. Wind Gan with Nodule Formation.)
The *Taiping Shenghui Fang* states: Pediatric Wind Gan arises from the accumulation and heat stagnation in the Liver, combined with improper feeding. Therefore, infants between one hundred days and three years of age have unregulated Qi and Blood, and their bones (associated with Wood/Liver) are light and soft. In their daily movements, they are easily injured by external pathogens. If the nursing mother fails to adapt to cold and heat, neglects proper regulation, does not moderate her diet, experiences erratic emotions of joy and anger, or suffers from external wind-cold invasion while harboring internal fright and anger, and then nurses the infant, the pathogenic factors remain uncleared, damaging the child's Zang-Fu organs, thereby resulting in Wind Gan. The manifestations include shaking the head and rubbing the eyes, red eyes with excessive sleepiness, heat in the head and scorched hair, spasms and tension in all meridians, gradually becoming sallow and emaciated; these are the signs of Wind Gan.
The *Taiping Shenghui Fang* treats pediatric Wind Gan characterized by gradual emaciation, excessive sleepiness with high fever, sallow-green complexion, and occasional vomiting of milk. Longnao San Formula:
Longnao (Borneol), Shexiang (Musk), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis), Xionghuang (Realgar), Zhusha (Cinnabar) (each finely ground); Xiongdan (Ursus Bile), Ranshedan (Python Bile) (both ground); Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (remove stamens); Tianma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma), Woniu (Helix Aspersa) (stir-fried until slightly yellow); Lanye (Isatidis Folium); Chuan Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (cut into pieces, stir-fried); Wulingzhi (Trogopterori Faeces); Madouling (Aristolochiae Fructus) (each 1 fen).
Pound the above herbs, sift through a fine sieve to make a powder, mix in the finely ground ingredients evenly. Take half a qian each time, mixed with warm water for administration. Adjust the dosage according to the child's size.
The *Taiping Shenghui Fang* treats pediatric Wind Gan characterized by picking the nose and rubbing the eyes, unaware of the itchy areas. Huhuanglian Wan Formula:
