麻痘俗呼麻子，盖因火毒熏蒸。朱砂红点遍身形，发自胃经一定。切忌黑斑死证，最宜赤似朱樱。大都治法
喜凉清，不许辛甘犯禁。
麻疹因何咳嗽？盖由肺胃相连。肺金被火苦熬煎，以致咳嗽气喘。治法清金降火，不宜误用辛甜。蒸笼包
子譬如然，只要气松火遍。
麻疹如何辨认？分明状似伤寒。此多咳嗽有红斑，喷嚏眼中水现。或见腹疼阵阵，或时吐泻相兼。疹麻吐泻
不须嫌，正要毒除热减。
麻与痘疮异治，二家不可同方。痘宜温解疹宜凉，又要现形为上。若受风寒不出，其间凶吉难量。急宜发散
保安康，最怕神昏腹胀。
大凡麻痘未出，详看天令如何？假如日暖又风和，败毒荆防堪可。若是时行疫疠，芩连消毒宜多。用心调理
救沉 ，坐井观天莫学。
且论荆防败毒，真为发散仙方。荆防生地要相当，酒炒芩连二样。桔梗人参甘草，连翘牛蒡无双，玄参酒柏
妙真良，竹叶升麻停当。
又有芩连消毒，散火解毒尤佳。芩连栀子及升麻，桔梗石膏多把。甘草人参知母，连翘牛蒡红花，引寻竹叶
要多加，此个方儿无价。
发散仍前不出，令人真个忧疑。麻黄酒蜜炒如煤，栀柏芩连一例。更着大黄酒炒，连翘蒡子相宜。石膏蝉蜕
最为奇，不效命难再立。
如见出时紫黑，此般自古多凶。急求人屎路朝东，火 成灰取用。研碎酒调吞下，须臾黑变为红。若还依旧
黑朦胧，纵有神丹何用？
麻已现形发热，化斑汤用为先。石膏甘草及人参，桔梗连翘灵验。若是毒多热甚，芩连消毒真传。大肠秘
结大黄添，务用微通数遍。

口齿生疮臭烂，此名走马牙疳。金花丸子好求安，外用除疳妙散。先取尿缸白垢，火烧白色如盐。更将五倍
铜绿添，砒枣烧灰灵显。
赤痢泻时鲜血，黄连柏叶槐花。枳壳荆芥穗同加，痢止血除方罢。白痢吴萸滑石，樗根枳壳升麻。乌梅取肉
作丸佳，赤白香连可下。
四疾更防死证，临门休要殊差。儿多体热瘦如麻，咳嗽面青声哑。走马唇穿齿落，痢多噤口吁嗟。此般即是
死冤家，任是神仙也怕。

麻疹俗称“麻子”，大概是因为火毒熏蒸所致。朱砂般的红点遍布全身，病发根源在于胃经。最忌讳出现黑斑的死证，最理想的是颜色赤红如朱樱一般。大致的治疗原则是：喜欢清凉，严禁使用辛甘温燥之品触犯禁忌。
麻疹为何会引起咳嗽？这是因为肺与胃相连。肺金被火热之苦煎熬，导致咳嗽气喘。治疗方法应清肃肺气、降泄火热，不宜误用辛甘温补之物。这就像蒸笼包子一样，只要气机通畅、火力均匀即可。
如何辨认麻疹？其症状分明类似伤寒。但麻疹多伴有咳嗽和红斑，打喷嚏且眼中流泪。有时可见阵发性腹痛，有时呕吐与腹泻并见。疹出时若兼有吐泻不必嫌弃，这正是邪毒排出、热势减退的表现。
麻疹与痘疮的治疗不同，二者不可用同一方剂。痘疮适宜温散透解，麻疹适宜凉散透发，关键在于使疹点顺利透出。如果因受风寒而疹出不畅，其间吉凶难以预料。此时急需发散透疹以保平安，最怕出现神志昏沉、腹部胀满的症状。
大凡麻疹、痘疮尚未发出时，需详细观察天气时令情况。假如日子温暖、和风拂面，可用败毒荆防汤来解毒透疹。若是遇到时行疫疠之气，则宜多用芩连消毒散。用心调理以挽救危重患儿，切勿坐井观天、见识短浅。
再论荆防败毒散，实为发散透疹的仙方。荆芥、防风用量要相当，酒炒的黄芩、黄连各半。桔梗、人参、甘草，连翘、牛蒡子功效无双，玄参、酒黄柏妙处真良，竹叶、升麻配合得当。
又有芩连消毒散，疏散火热、解毒效果尤佳。黄芩、黄连、栀子及升麻，桔梗、石膏重用。甘草、人参、知母，连翘、牛蒡子、红花，引导药力多用竹叶，这个方子价值连城。
若发散后疹仍不出，令人真正担忧疑虑。可用麻黄、蜂蜜炒至色黑如煤，栀子、黄柏、黄芩、黄连同等对待。再加酒制大黄，连翘、牛蒡子相宜。石膏、蝉蜕最为神奇，若无效则命难保，不可再次站立等待。
如果见到疹色紫黑，这种情况自古以来多主凶险。急求人屎汁，方向朝东，将火煅烧成灰取用。研碎后用酒调服吞下，片刻间黑色可变为红色。如果依旧黑蒙蒙一片，纵然有神丹妙药又有何用？
麻疹已经透出形体且发热，首选化斑汤。石膏、甘草及人参，桔梗、连翘疗效灵验。若是毒盛热甚，则传承使用芩连消毒散。若大肠秘结不通，加入大黄，务必使大便微通数次。
麻疹大多伴有咽痛，这是火邪熏灼咽喉所致，别无他法。连翘、甘草、桔梗要多加，牛蒡子、射干同用。外用十宣妙散吹喉，不要叹息犹豫。假如服药后有差错，改用消毒芩连散也很妙。
麻疹再兼见泻痢，应预先用药调理医治。腹泻时减去桂枝的五苓散为宜，加上甘草、滑石。如果是痢疾兼见赤白脓血，香连丸相随。大体上痢止便为奇效，若无效则令人怀疑忌惮。
麻疹咳嗽声声响亮、气促，只需降火清金。赤茯苓、栀子并黄芩，桔梗、石膏疗效灵应。知母、人参、地骨皮，栝楼、杏仁、玄参。麦冬、牛蒡子妙如神，竹叶将来作为引经药。
麻疹之后切防四种死证，因循守旧多致误人。遍身久热不清宁，咳嗽连连牵引不止。牙齿生疳走马牙疳，痢下赤白难以禁制。各自寻求方法贵在精纯，这才是医家的绝顶高手。

咳嗽频频不止，或许因为不忌食酸咸之物，又加火毒延及肺家，尤其恐怕胸高气喘。体质实者兼用葶苈子，神气虚者以清肺为先。如此调理保安全愈，不要在风波中冒险。

赤痢腹泻时带鲜血，用黄连、柏叶、槐花。枳壳、荆芥穗同加，痢止血除方才罢休。白痢用吴茱萸、滑石，樗根、枳壳、升麻。乌梅取肉作丸佳，赤白痢疾可用香连丸攻下。
四种疾病更要防止死证，临门之际不要有丝毫差错。小儿多体热瘦如柴，咳嗽面青声音嘶哑。走马牙疳唇穿齿落，痢疾多噤口不开叹息。这些即是死冤家，即使是神仙也害怕。

Measles is commonly referred to as "Ma Zi" (smallpox-like rash), largely due to the steaming effect of fire-toxin. Vermilion-red spots cover the entire body, originating from the Stomach Meridian. It is strictly forbidden to observe black spots indicating a fatal condition; the most favorable presentation is a color bright red like vermilion cherries. Generally, the treatment principle favors cooling and clearing, strictly prohibiting the use of pungent, sweet, and warm-drying substances that violate contraindications.
Why does measles cause coughing? This is because the Lungs and Stomach are connected. The Metal of the Lungs is tormented by fire, leading to coughing and wheezing. The treatment method should clear Lung heat and descend fire; it is inappropriate to mistakenly use pungent and sweet tonics. This is akin to steaming buns in a steamer: as long as the Qi is unobstructed and the heat is evenly distributed, it will work.
How to identify measles? Its presentation clearly resembles Taiyang disease (a syndrome caused by pathogenic factors invading the Taiyang channel). However, measles is often accompanied by coughing and red macules, sneezing, and watery eyes. Sometimes there are paroxysmal abdominal pains, or simultaneous vomiting and diarrhea. If vomiting and diarrhea occur during the eruption of measles, they need not be despised; rather, they indicate the expulsion of toxin and the reduction of heat.
The treatment for measles and smallpox differs; the two cannot share the same formula. Smallpox is suitable for warm resolution and release, while measles requires cool dispersal and release, with the priority being the successful emergence of the rash. If the rash fails to emerge due to wind-cold invasion, the prognosis of auspiciousness or peril is difficult to assess. In such cases, urgent dispersal and release are needed to ensure health; one must fear mental confusion and abdominal distension above all else.
Generally, when measles or smallpox have not yet emerged, one must carefully observe the seasonal climate. If the days are warm and the breeze gentle, Baidu Jingfang Decoction can be used to defeat toxins and disperse pathogens. If encountering an epidemic pestilence, Qinlian Xiaodu Powder should be used more frequently. One must用心 (apply careful attention) to regulate and treat to save critical patients; do not learn by looking at the sky from the bottom of a well (i.e., having narrow vision).
Regarding Baidu Jingfang Decoction, it is truly an immortal prescription for dispersal and release. The dosage of Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba) and Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) should be balanced; Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) and Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) fried with wine are used equally. Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), and Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma); Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus) and Niubangzi (Arctii Fructus) are unparalleled; Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix) and Jiuhuangbai (Phellodendri Cortex prepared with wine) are truly excellent; Zhuye (Bambusae Folium) and Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) are properly coordinated.
There is also Qinlian Xiaodu Powder, which is particularly good at dissipating fire and detoxifying. Huangqin, Huanglian, Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus), and Shengma; Jiegeng and Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) are used in large amounts. Gancao, Renshen, Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma); Lianqiao, Niubangzi, and Honghua (Carthami Flos); Yin (guide) uses plenty of Zhuye. This prescription is priceless.
If dispersal still fails to bring out the rash, causing genuine worry and doubt: Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba) fried with honey until black as coal, Zhizi, Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), Huangqin, and Huanglian are treated equally. Add Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) fried with wine; Lianqiao and Niubangzi are suitable. Shigao and Chantui (Cicadae Periostracum) are most miraculous. If ineffective, life cannot be saved again by standing idly by.
If purple-black rashes are seen, this situation has historically been mostly ominous. Urgently seek human feces juice, facing east, calcine it into ash, and take it. Grind fine, mix with wine, and swallow. Within a moment, the black color turns red. If it remains dark and obscure, what use are even divine pills?
When measles have emerged and fever persists, Huaban Tang (Spot-Resolving Decoction) is used first. Shigao, Gancao, and Renshen; Jiegeng and Lianqiao are effective. If toxin is heavy and heat is severe, the authentic transmission is Qinlian Xiaodu Powder. If the Large Intestine is constipated, add Dahuang; ensure slight bowel movement several times.
Measles are often accompanied by sore throat, caused by fire-toxin scorching without other causes. Increase Lianqiao, Gancao, and Jiegeng; administer Niubangzi and Shegan (Belamcandae Rhizoma) together. Externally, apply Shixuan Miaosan (Ten-Xuan Miraculous Powder) blown into the throat; do not sigh. If there is a discrepancy after taking medicine, Xiaodu Qinlian San (Toxin-Defeating Qin-Lian Powder) is also wonderful.
If measles are complicated by diarrhea and dysentery, medication should be administered in advance for regulation and treatment. For diarrhea, Wuling San (Five-Ingredient Powder for Resolving Fluids) with Guizhi removed is suitable, adding Gancao and Huashi (Talcum). For dysentery with red and white discharge, Xianglian Wan (Atractylodes-Coptis Pill) follows. Generally, stopping the dysentery is considered miraculous; if ineffective, it causes suspicion and fear.
For loud coughing and shortness of breath in measles, only descending fire and clearing Lung metal is needed. Chi Ling (Poria with Brown Mycelium), Zhizi, and Huangqin; Jiegeng and Shigiao are effective. Zhimu, Renshen, Digupi (Lycii Cortex); Gualou (Trichosanthis Fructus), Xingren (Prunus Semen), and Xuanshen. Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber) and Niubangzi are miraculous as gods; Zhuye serves as the guide.
After measles, one must vigilantly prevent four fatal syndromes; negligence often leads to misfortune. Prolonged fever over the whole body without peace; continuous coughing pulling inward. Gangrene of the teeth progressing rapidly (Zouma Yagan); dysentery with red and white discharge difficult to control. Each seeking methods precious and pure, this makes the top-tier physician.
Why is there intense heat in the body? Only because residual toxin lingers continuously. Jinhua Wan (Golden Flower Pill) uses Huangqin and Huanglian; Longdan (Gentianae Radix) and Zhiren (Gardeniae Semen) are admirable. Yujin (Curcumae Radix) and Xionghuang (Realgar) detoxify; Dengxincao (Sparganii Caulis) and Digupi decoct in soup. If Spleen is weak and heat prolongs, Jisheng Wan (Accumulated Sage Pill) or Weiling Wan (Stomach-Lingering Pill) can be chosen.
Frequent coughing that does not stop may be due to not avoiding sour and salty foods, allowing fire-toxin to extend to the Lungs, especially fearing chest fullness and wheezing. For those with solid constitution, Tingli (Descurainiae Semen seu Lepidii Semen) is added; for those with deficient spirit, clearing the Lungs is prioritized. Such regulation ensures recovery; do not risk danger in turbulent waves.
Tingli Wan removes Lung heat; Xingren and Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix) are miraculous. Qianniu (Pharbitidis Semen), Tingli, and dates follow; Laifu (Radish Seed) is ground together into a preparation. Qingfei Shendan (Divine Pill for Clearing Lungs) descends Qi; Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) boiled and roasted with salt water. Huangqin, Huanglian, Gancao, and Xingren paste, combined with Suzi (Perillae Fructus) in pills is very beautiful.
Sores and ulcers in the mouth and teeth with foul rotting smell are named Zouma Yagan (Running Horse Gum Disease). Jinhua Wan seeks safety; externally apply Chu Gan Miaosan (Ulcer-Removing Miraculous Powder). First, take the white scale from the bottom of a urine pot, burn it until white as salt. Add Wubeizi (Chinese Gall) and Tonglv (Verdigris); Pi (Arsenic Trioxide) and Zao (Jujube) burned to ash show spiritual efficacy.
Red dysentery with fresh blood during diarrhea uses Huanglian, Baiye (Meliae Cortex), and Huaihua (Sophorae Flos). Zhiqiao (Aurantii Fructus) and Jingjie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica) are added together; dysentery stops and blood ceases before ending. White dysentery uses Wuyu (Evodiae Fructus), Huashi, Chugen (Toosendan Radix), Zhiqiao, and Shengma. Wumei (Mume Fructus) flesh made into pills is good; red and white dysentery can be treated with Xianglian Wan.
Four diseases require prevention of fatal syndromes; do not err at the threshold. Children often have body heat and are thin as hemp; coughing, blue face, hoarse voice. Running horse gum disease with lip perforation and tooth loss; dysentery with inability to open mouth (Jinkou) and sighing. These are indeed deadly enemies; even immortals would fear them.
