Spitting out white foam. Tremors of the four limbs. Twitching of the eyes and deviation of the mouth. The cause is cold in the five zang organs combined with fright. Treatment should primarily focus on calming the spirit and inducing sweating. Techniques include: pushing the Three Gates (Tui San Guan), pushing the Lung Meridian (Tui Fei Jing), rotating the Eight Trigrams (Yun Ba Gua), pushing the Heavenly River Water (Tui Tian He), moving water into earth (Yun Shui Ru Tu), and rubbing/massaging (Zou Cuo Mo). Prescription: Rub the fontanelle (Xin Men) with fine tea powder and clam shell powder. Avoid milk and food.
Wheezing. Blue veins surrounding the abdomen. Abdominal distension. Eyes rolling upward. Diarrhea. The cause is excessive breastfeeding injuring the spleen, combined with external wind-cold invasion. Treatment should primarily focus on pushing the Three Gates to induce sweating and kneading the navel (Rou Qi). Additionally: divide yin and yang (Fen Yin Yang), rotate the Eight Trigrams, tonify the Kidney Meridian, knead Shenque (CV 8), push the Large Intestine Meridian, and rub/massage. Prescription: Grind scallion white into a fine paste to make a cake. Place it over seven layers of fire-proof paper and apply to the navel. Secure it with silk thread. It will heal immediately.
The tongue flicks inside the mouth. Spitting out blue smoke. Coldness of the four limbs. The cause is heat accumulation in the Heart Meridian. Treatment should primarily focus on clearing heart fire. Additionally: divide yin and yang, rotate the Eight Trigrams, clear the Six Fu Organs (Tui Liu Fu), clear the Heavenly River Water, scoop the bright moon (Lao Ming Yue), clear the Heart Meridian, and move water into earth. Prescription: Decoct mint leaves and rinse the mouth several times. Rinse again several times with rice caries water (Mi Gan Shui). Rub Yongquan (KI 1) with clam shell powder for healing.
Releasing hands and grabbing randomly. Twitching of the feet. Shaking of the head. Trembling of the body. Fixed gaze. Unceasing crying. The cause is wind invading the lungs and irritability in the Heart Meridian. Treatment should primarily focus on dividing yin and yang and clearing heart heat. Additionally: divide yin and yang, rotate the Eight Trigrams, clear the Heart Meridian, clear the Lung Meridian, push the Heavenly River Water, fly metal to move qi (Fei Jin Zou Qi), press the string and rub/massage (An Xian Zou Cuo Mo).
Blue lips. Coldness of the four limbs. Blue tendons. Black qi in the palms of both hands and feet. The cause is cold pathogenic factors invading the five zang organs. Treatment should primarily focus on pushing the Lung Meridian to induce sweating. This condition heals after one induction of sweat. Push the Three Gates, push the Lung Meridian, rotate the Eight Trigrams, and perform Yellow Bee Entering the Cave (Huang Feng Ru Dong). If there is no response, dip a chicken feather in sesame oil to probe the throat to induce vomiting of phlegm. If phlegm is not vomited, firmly push Da Ling (PC 7) externally or use the Phlegm-Clearing Divine Mantra (Di Tan Shen Zhou) to induce vomiting and sweating. After pushing, still tonify Spleen Earth and rotate the Eight Trigrams. Afterwards, the child will not fear wind. When treating fright, do not rigidly adhere to the saying "push three times then return once." Just push until the desired effect is achieved, returning a few times as needed. Fright involves the tendons. Seeing fright means seeing it. Fright-wind causes loss of consciousness. Treatment methods: Moxibustion on Shang Xin Tian, Yongquan (KI 1), and the side of the big toenail.
