Fourteen days of Winter-Warmth (Dongwen), the body seems cool, but the pulse remains large and rapid in intent, yet powerless upon prolonged pressing; this indicates the pathogenic factor is receding. The tongue coating is slippery and moist, still gray in the center with yellow on both sides. The primary intention is to preserve Body Fluids (Jinye). This condition involves the pathogen moving through the meridians without being discharged via bowel movement, thus causing Liver Heat leading to palpitations, fright, and irritability. Decoction contains Baiwei (Cortex Dipteri), which can calm fright and cool blood; this formula is proposed for treatment.
Sheng Yuzhu (Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma) 3 qian, Beishashen (Glehniae Radix) 3 qian, Chao Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuberum Preparatum) 3 qian, Baiwei (Dipteri Cortex) 3 qian, Chao Danpi (Moutan Cortex) 3 qian, Xiang Beimu (Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus) 3 qian.
If the patient experiences intermittent coma and clarity, remove Baiwei and add Shaoke (Amomi Fructus Rotundus Shell) 1.5 qian to transform dampness and soothe the Liver, as the constitution has inherent dampness and stagnation.
If stool resolves by increasing fluids, it is known that the Yin-deficiency heat is resolved; once essence and fluids are nourished, bitter-cold herbs will not cause dryness. Palpating the pulse, the left hand is already fine and soft; use Qingzao Tang (Clear Dryness Decoction).

Warm pathogens resolve from the interior first, then emerge to the exterior, hence sweating occurs profusely. The patient has a damp-encumbered constitution; muscles still feel steaming hot, tongue coating remains black but reduced compared to before. Again, increase fluids to support expulsion of pathogens, open the Lungs, assist emergence to the exterior for complete resolution.

Patient Ding Jiayan's illness is nearly cured. Knowing the pathogen moved through meridians, used Xiaoyao San method, resulting in rash and sweating for resolution. If not viewed this way, madness would ensue; otherwise, fever lasting over 100 days would lead to complex changes and incurability. Thus, studying medicine requires reading widely and deeply to build profound knowledge and standards. Now sending the current Lung-nourishing and Pathogen-expelling formula for prior and posterior regulation. Please forward to the original person after reading. Yours sincerely, Brother Wanxiang bows.
Summer-Dampness entering Liver: chest pain and vomiting ceased with medication, but today morning chills and fever, sweating, thirst, shortness of breath, yellow tongue.
