Free flow (smooth movement of Qi), if Liver Wood is stagnant, then Spleen Earth will be obstructed; Spleen Earth obstruction leads to failure of Water-Dampness to circulate, gradually forming accumulated Phlegm-Fluid. Vomiting occurs due to Stomach Qi rebelling upward; when Stomach Qi rebels, the pent-up Qi of the Liver organ, carrying Fire, rushes against the Stomach, causing blood in the Stomach collaterals to overflow. Having already been scorched by Fire, the color becomes stasis. This is essentially a disease of Phlegm-Fluid accompanied by stagnation of Liver Wood. The primary treatment method states in *Jin Gui Yao Lue* (Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Cabinet): "When there is branch-fluid under the heart, Banxia Decoction should be used." It also states: "For vomiting with epigastric fullness, water between the diaphragm, dizziness, and palpitations, Banxia Decoction plus Poria Pill should be used." Essentially, Banxia is taken to dissipate nodules and remove dampness, Fuling (Poria) to tonify the Spleen and eliminate water, and Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger Juice) to promote Qi flow and stop vomiting. Now, this formula serves as the Sovereign drug. Combined with Banxia Houpo Tang (Banxia and Magnolia Bark Decoction) to guide turbid Qi downward for excretion, it serves as the Minister drug. Adding Jupi (Tangerine Peel) to soothe the Stomach, combined with the aforementioned drugs, implies the intention of Erchen Tang (Two-Aged Decoction), serving as the Assistant drug. When Qi descends, Fire descends; adding Chenxiang (Agarwood) to harmonize Middle Qi, descend Qi, and calm Liver Yang, serves as the Envoy drug. After twenty doses, take this formula in the evening, and in the morning take Xiangsha Liujunzi Wan (Aucklandia and Amomum Six-Gentlemen Pill) three qian, to slightly attend to its root. Whether appropriate or not, please correct.

Mr. Zhong (Left pulse): Palpitations with emptiness under the heart, fine and soggy pulse, slippery at the right Guan position. This is caused by Phlegm-Water gathering in the chest, Yin-Dampness permeating below, causing Heart Yang to float upward. Zhang Zhongjing (Sovereign of Changsha) alone grasped its essence, thus in *Yuhan Jing* (Classic of the Jade Box), it first says "Palpitations under the heart indicate Water-Qi," and again "Water stopping under the heart causes palpitations under the heart." Modern physicians often regard this as deficiency of Heart Ying (Nutritive Qi), unaware of the Sage's teachings.

Mr. Li (Right pulse): Discomfort in Zhongwan, bubbling sound upon pressure, feeling cold at the site of accumulation, cold limbs, aversion to wind on head and face. Pulse is deep and wiry. This is due to Cold-Fluid stopping in the Stomach Fu, Yang Qi obstructed and unable to diffuse. Where Yang Qi does not reach, there is aversion to wind and reversal cold. The syndrome belongs to Retained Fluid; patients with Fluid diseases should be harmonized with Warm medicines.

Mr. Liu (Left pulse): Phlegm-Fluid roots are deep, Spleen Yang fails to transport, Body Fluids coagulate and transform into Phlegm, blocking the area below the Lung, causing Asthma and Cough. Lung Qi fails to descend, Jia Wood (Liver Qi) rebels upward, causing pain in the supraorbital ridge. Pulse is deep, fine, soggy, and soft. Patients with Fluid diseases should indeed be harmonized with Warm medicines, but since the constitution is deficient, strong agents should not be overused. The pathway for Water-Fire communication is blocked, resulting in epigastric fullness and insomnia. Lung Qi desires to descend but cannot, prone to Qi rebellion, limb weakness and fatigue. Treatment should focus on resolving Phlegm and harmonizing the Middle.

Mr. Wang (Left pulse): Chronic cough with profuse sputum. For several days, a tangible mass has formed in Zhongwan, food intake causes blockage, Phlegm-Asthma and Qi rebellion. Pulse is deep and wiry, tongue coating pale white. This is catching Cold while diseased. Cold-Dampness and Phlegm obstruct Lung and Stomach. With the major festival approaching, there is risk of Asthma collapse. Use *Jin Gui* Guizhi Jia Houpo Xingzi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction augmented with Magnolia Bark and Apricot Kernel Decoction).

Mr. Xue (Left pulse): Repeatedly treated with Warm methods to resolve Phlegm-Fluid, cough and rebellion have stopped, but pulse still carries deep and wiry qualities. Spleen is the source of Phlegm generation, relying on Yang for transport. Again tonify Qi to assist its stirring and rotating power.

Certain Patient: Hemoptysis caused by Phlegm-Fluid, epigastric fullness and discomfort, belching foul odor. Pulse is deep and wiry. This is Spleen Earth trapped by Damp-Phlegm, unable to control blood. Fear it will become a chronic wasting condition difficult to recover from.

Certain Patient: Phlegm-Fluid has existed for a long time, previously always accompanied by asthma upon onset, now frequent vomiting, spirit clears only after vomiting. Pulse is deep and wiry. This is rebellious flooding of Pathogenic Fluid, taking the path of least resistance, difficult to completely intercept, only acting opportunistically remains.

Mr. Lu (Left pulse): Phlegm-Fluid transformed into Dryness, gradually healing with treatment. But repeatedly drinking sugarcane juice (Sweet and Cold), Stomach Yang was suppressed, leading to Phlegm-Damp obstructing Lung Qi, rebellion making Phlegm hard to expectorate, Damp-Phlegm obscuring, Qi-Fire stagnant and unable to diffuse, feeling intense heat in chest and abdomen. Whose fault is this? Please think carefully.

Certain Patient: The six Fu organs function through unobstructed flow. If the Stomach has Damp-Phlegm, Yang Qi becomes obstructed. Using Acrid-Warm herbs to open the knot of Phlegm acts like striking a drum (immediate response). Continue with previous methods.

Mr. Hu (Left pulse): Pulse slow and forceful, quite robust, only the right Guan position shows slight slipperiness, indicating abundant natural endowment, yet Damp-Phlegm is also excessive. Stool often loose, indicating Middle Qi is sufficient to stir but not to rebel, distinct from Fire-deficiency Spleen diarrhea. Regarding sexual dysfunction, at age sixty it is not considered a disease, let alone at seventy. The terms "Jin" (Thin Fluids) and "Ye" (Thick Fluids) are commonly conflated by laypeople, yet they differ: Clear part within Turbid rises to become Jin, Turbid part within Clear descends to become Ye. Waking up with thirst but no desire to drink, resolving quickly. If it were deficiency of Thin Fluids, why would thirst resolve without drinking? Why is there no dry thirst otherwise? Because Dampness follows Qi transformation; lying down closes Qi, causing Dampness to gather, obstructing Clear Qi from rising; although Thin Fluids exist, they cannot be supplied. Waking allows Qi to move and Dampness to scatter, Turbid does not obstruct, Clear naturally ascends. Tonify Qi and transport Dampness to prevent Dampness excess generating Phlegm. There is a tendency for Phlegm-Heat to generate Wind, but at an advanced age, Yin aspect must also be prepared for. Imitate *Jin Gui* method of upper-lower separate treatment. Please correct.

Mr. Wang (Left pulse): *Neijing* states: "Drink enters the Stomach, floating溢 (overflowing) Essence-Qi, transported upward to Spleen, Spleen Qi scatters fluids, returns upward to Lung, regulates water passages, transports downward to Bladder, Water-Essence distributes four directions, five meridians run together." This perfectly depicts the mechanism of post-natal transformation. Pulse is soggy and fine, right position soft and slippery. Latent Phlegm-Fluid usually causes asthma upon onset. Administering *Jin Gui* Linggui Zhugan Tang (Poria, Cinnamon Twig, Atractylodes Macrocephala and Licorice Decoction) works effectively like striking a drum. This is the main formula for treating internal Fluid by regulating Spleen, so it must be effective. However, Acrid-Warm substances may damage Yin if used long-term; therefore, a mild and central formula is needed for preventive measures. Spirit, Qi, Blood, and Body Fluids sustain life, followed by Jin and Ye. What is Jin? The clear within the turbid that rises. What is Ye? The turbid within the clear that descends. However, Jin does not generate itself, requiring Qi transformation to moisten mouth and nose; Ye does not descend itself, requiring Qi transformation to unblock water passages. Qi transformation refers to Foot-Taiyin Spleen Qi and Hand-Taiyin Lung Qi. Plump body indicates Middle deficiency, Middle deficiency indicates weak Qi, weak Qi means Spleen Earth lacks stirring power, Lung Metal lacks clearing authority. Thus, what previously flowed as Jin and Ye now stagnates, transforming Dampness into Phlegm, hiding inside, erupting opportunistically. Although asthma and cough occur occasionally, not currently burdensome, they are truly worries for the future. The strategy for regulation is to tonify Spleen and descend Stomach, stir Qi mechanism, allowing Qi to flow and transform; then Phlegm disappears silently without direct treatment, Dampness resolves without direct management. This aligns with the Classic's concept of transporting to Spleen and returning to Lung. Here, combining *Wai Tai* Fuling Tang, Liujunzi, Zisheng, etc., into pills. Please correct.
