Grind into fine powder. On the Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu), use Toad Venom (Chansu) to make pills the size of mung beans. Take 3 pills per dose, administered with scallion oil. The therapeutic effect is indicated by sweating. For sore throat and swelling, apply the powder directly to the affected area.
Treats various types of swelling and toxicity belonging to Yin syndromes.
Aconite Root (Fuzi) (one piece, half raw and half cooked, baked in bread), Galla Chinensis (Beizi) (5 qian, stir-fried until slightly black), Ephedra Herb (Mahuang) (5 qian), Scutellaria Root (Kuhuang/Kuqin) (5 qian), Licorice Root Nodes (Gancao Jie) (5 qian).
Grind all into fine powder. Mix with rice vinegar and apply topically, leaving the head of the sore open (do not close the wound).
Treats all kinds of nameless swellings and toxicities, back carbuncles, and ding sores, with immediate effect.
Take tender branches of mulberry tree, chop finely with a copper knife, store in an incense burner, and smoke the affected area with mild fire. Then, boil mulberry branches to make a concentrated decoction, dip a silk cloth in it, and wipe the affected area. Repeat wiping and smoking until [cured].
Toad Venom (Chansu), Musk (Shexiang).
Grind equal parts into powder and sprinkle onto the sore.

One cocoon from two silkworm moths that have emerged, burn to ash, and take with wine to expel [toxins/foreign bodies]. Take only one; do not overdose. If one takes an extra pill, an additional "head" [of toxicity] will grow.
Treats hard and stubborn sores and toxicities, including established back carbuncles where necrotic flesh does not rot and no pus forms; or any sores that have pus but have not yet ruptured externally. This formula causes already necrotic tissue to slough off spontaneously and unruptured sores to burst spontaneously. Its efficacy surpasses that of Wujin Ointment and Bixia Pellets.
Calomel (Qingfen), Castor Seed (Bimazi) (ground, each 4 qian), Dragon's Blood (Xuexie) (2 qian), Semen Crotonis (Badou Ren) (2 qian), Camphor (Chaonao) (1 qian), Arsenic Trioxide (Jinding Pi) (5 fen), Snail (Luosi).
Grind into powder and store in a porcelain jar. When using, mix with sesame oil and apply to the hard, indurated flesh. Cover with cotton paper or apply with plaster. For particularly stubborn cases, two applications are sufficient.
Treats ulcerated carbuncles and back abscesses, with miraculous life-restoring effects. Also treats chancres (hard chancre/syphilis).
