Zhuliu Acupoint (located two cun above the medial malleolus, which is Jiaoxin [KI8].) It belongs to the Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian and is associated with the Five Zang Organs.
Herbs: Radix Angelicae Sinensis Caudex (Dangguiwei), Herba Lycopi (Zelan), Flos Carthami (Honghua), Radix Paeoniae Rubra (Chishao), Exocarpium Citri Reticulatae Guangpi (Guangpi), Flos Lonicerae Japonicae (Yinjinhua), Caulis Dipsaci (Xuduan), Rhizoma Cyperi Rotundi (Niuxi), Fructus Papaveris (Mugua), Herba Syringae Vulgaris (Weilingxian), Fructus Linderae (Wuyao), Cortex Moutan (Danpi).
For severe injuries, treat with the original prescription; for mild injuries, no treatment is required. There are five types of pathological conditions:
If the injury pathogen enters the Heart Meridian, symptoms such as dementia, epilepsy, and loss of consciousness occur. The treatment method involves moxibustion of three cones at the Yuan-Source point, followed by three cones of moxibustion at Baihui [GV20]. First, administer several doses of the original prescription, then administer Tianwang Buxin Dan (Emperor of Heaven's Heart-Nourishing Pill) for recovery.
If the injury pathogen enters the Liver and Gallbladder Meridians, generalised deficiency yellowing and oedema appear. (Treatment method not detailed.)
If the injury pathogen enters the Spleen Meridian, generalised contraction of muscles and bones, soreness, and numbness occur. The treatment method uses Shujin Yangxue Fang (Tendon-Relaxing and Blood-Nourishing Formula).
If the injury pathogen enters the Lung Meridian, Foteng Ju (Buddha's Crown Carbuncle) develops. Use upper-body blood-invigorating herbs, take one or two doses, then treat with Zhongdu Yao (Swelling-Toxin Resolving Medicine).
If the injury pathogen enters the Kidney Meridian, haematuria occurs. The treatment method modifies the original prescription by removing Xuduan, Niuxi, Mugua, Weilingxian, Wuyao, and Danpi, adding Ze Xie (Alisma Rhizome), Mu Tong (Akebia Stem), Lian Qiao (Forsythia Fruit), Huang Qin (Scutellaria Root), Zhu Ling (Polyporus), and Gan Cao (Licorice Root) for treatment.
Jiaozhu Acupoint (located on the dorsum of the foot, beside the bony prominence resembling a bean.)
Herbs: Rhizoma Corydalis Yanhusuo (Yanhulsuo), Radix Angelicae Sinensis Caudex (Dangguiwei), Cortex Moutan (Danpi), Radix Paeoniae Rubra (Chishao), Caulis Dipsaci (Xuduan), Flos Carthami (Honghua), Os Dinosauri Fragmentatum (Gusuibu), Rhizoma Cyperi Rotundi (Niuxi), Radix Rehmanniae Preparata (Shengdihuang - *Note: Text says Shengdi, usually implies Raw Rehmannia*), Herba Lycopi (Zelan), Exocarpium Citri Reticulatae (Chenpi), Cortex Acanthopanacis Senticosi (Wujiapi).
For severe injuries, the patient falls down in pain immediately; after seven days, the pathogen enters the meridians. For the first seven days, use the original prescription; after seven days, add Shengma (Cimicifuga Rhizome) and Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig).
For mild injuries, do not treat; otherwise, it may transform into Jiao Fabei (Foot Back Carbuncle). If treated with Zhongdu Yao, it will lead to ulceration that cannot heal. It is best to use tonification methods. Ren Shen (Ginseng Root) should be used. Dry the substance from "Shenbianwo" (likely a textual error or specific local term), grind into powder, and apply topically for recovery. If there is no ulceration, treat with blood-nourishing herbs.
Yongquan Acupoint (located in the depression at the center of the sole.) It belongs to the Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian and is associated with the Five Zang Organs.
Herbs: Herba Lycopi (Zelan), Flos Carthami (Honghua), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui), Os Dinosauri Fragmentatum (Gusuibu), Fructus Linderae (Wuyao), Exocarpium Citri Reticulatae (Chenpi), Radix Rehmanniae Recens (Shengdi), Rhizoma Cyperi Rotundi (Niuxi), Cortex Cinnamomi (Rougui), Cortex Acanthopanacis Senticosi (Wujiapi), Radix Paeoniae Rubra (Chishao), Radix Notopterygii (Qianghuo).
For both mild and moderate injuries, sensation is lost. For extremely severe injuries, blood circulation is blocked at major junctions; for one week, the whole body feels like being bitten by insects. Adding Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Rhizome) to the original prescription leads to cure.
If untreated, the pathogen enters the Heart Meridian, causing red eyes and epistaxis. First, decoct Mustard Seed (Jiezi) and drink the soup. Then treat with the original prescription.
If the pathogen enters the Liver Meridian, hemiplegic flaccidity occurs, resembling half-body paralysis. Treat with the original prescription plus Xiangfu (Cyperus Rhizome) and Yanhulsuo (Corydalis Rhizome).
If the pathogen enters the Spleen Meridian, generalised sores develop, resembling blisters. When blisters rupture, they become rotten and foul-smelling. First, use blood-invigorating herbs added with Spleen Meridian guiding drugs. Externally, calcinate Snail Shells (Shuilongyi) into ash, grind into powder, mix with raw Goose Oil, and apply to the sores for cure.
If the pathogen enters the Lung Meridian, Qi stagnation causes distension and pain. After fifteen days, it transfers to the Spleen Meridian, resulting in Liuzhu (Flowing Abscess). (Treatment method not detailed.)
If the pathogen enters the Kidney Meridian, dysuria and lower abdominal pain occur. Modify the original prescription by removing Niuxi, Qianghuo, and Gusuibu, adding Mu Tong, Zhu Ling, and Ze Xie. Apply hot compresses of Scallion White and Ginger to the lower abdomen according to previous methods for immediate cure.
