Sweet in flavor, warm in nature, non-toxic. It primarily treats jingxian (startle epilepsy), dianji (epilepsy), guizhu (a chronic wasting disease caused by evil qi), and gudú (poison from insects or worms). It eliminates chaine (alternating chills and fever), betun (a condition where Qi rushes upward from the lower abdomen to the chest and heart), wulong (five types of urinary obstruction), and tendon contraction caused by evil qi. Also known as tundian. Dry it in the shade and store it; do not let it spoil.
Zhusuan Ti (Swine Tendon/Nail): Primarily treats wuzhi (five types of hemorrhoids), clears latent heat in the intestines, and treats changyong neishi (intestinal abscess with internal erosion). The four feet of the pig: slightly cold in nature. Treats injuries from beating, various diseases caused by startle/evil qi, and sorrow/resentment. The kidney: cold in nature, treats loose stools, regulates shenqi (Kidney Qi), and promotes bladder patency. The gallbladder: treats febrile thirst caused by shanghan (Cold Damage). The stomach: tonifies the middle and replenishes Qi, stops thirst, and promotes urination. The teeth: primarily treat pediatric jingxian (startle epilepsy); harvest on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month.
The fat/ghee (Gao): Promotes hair growth. The adipose tissue/grease (Fang Gao): Primarily used for decocting various plaster medicines; resolves the toxicity of Banmao (Mylabris) and Yuanqing (Lytta). Pork meat: sour in flavor, cold in nature, treats kuangbing (mania). Generally, pork is bitter in flavor; it tends to obstruct blood vessels, weaken sinews and bones, and cause emaciation in weak individuals; it should not be consumed for long periods, especially by patients with jinchuang (metal/wound trauma). Pig feces: treats chaine (chills and fever), huangdan (jaundice), and shibi (damp-bi syndrome).
Pigs have many uses, but their meat is unsuitable for humans. Those who eat too much pork will become suddenly obese; this is due to causing flaccid muscles. Its fat can nourish and moisten the skin; made into hand cream, it prevents cracking. Pig grease is indispensable for decocting medicines. Do not allow pigs to drink water. Grease made in the twelfth lunar month does not spoil for years. The grease under the neck is called "Fu Ge Zhi" and is used by Daoists. Pig urine juice is extremely effective in treating Wendu (warm toxins). After eating pork and drinking wine, one should not lie in autumn rice straw. Furthermore, white trotters mixed with black hairs should not be eaten; after consuming pig grease, one should avoid eating Wu Mei (dark plum).
[Verification]: *Bielu* states: Soot from pig ears treats snake bites. Pig brain treats fengxuan (wind-induced dizziness), naoming (tinnitus/cranial buzzing), and dongchuang (frostbite). Pig blood treats xian (epilepsy), and the coming and going of gui du (ghost poison) causing chaine and wulong. The five zang organs treat pediatric jingxian with sweating. On a Hai day in the twelfth lunar month, take the fat, place it in a new tile vessel, bury it at the Hai position underground for one hundred days; this is used by alchemists. It is also stated that adding fourteen egg whites to one sheng of fat improves efficacy.
Salty in flavor, non-toxic. Primarily treats yongju (carbuncles and sores), various corrosive malignant ulcers, and ulcerated sores in the genital area. Lives underground. Harvest in the fifth lunar month, dry, and roast.
Commonly known as Yinshu, also named Yanshu. It resembles a mouse but is larger and tailless, black in color, with a very strong, long snout. It constantly burrows through cultivated fields; searching yields results. In various mountain forests today, there is another beast, as large as a water buffalo, resembling a pig, gray in color, with hind legs like an elephant's, white on the chest and above the tail, powerful yet dull, also named Yanshu. People catch it with nets for food; its meat resembles beef and is often made into dried jerky. Its fat is said to treat [missing character]. Some say it is the King of Rats; a single drop of its essence or urine falling on the ground becomes a rat. In years of grain rodent disasters, these animals appear in abundance, which is likely not false. The character 'Gu' is alternatively written as [missing character]. Burning the hooves of this rat to powder and taking them with wine, or crushing the bones to brew wine and drinking it, both show good efficacy in treating [missing character].
