The Sanjiao Meridian of Hand-Taiyang. It is the father of all Yang Qi (vital energy). Its acupoints belong to the Fu organs (hollow organs).
The Pericardium Meridian of Hand-Jueyin. It is the mother of Yin Blood. Its acupoints belong to the Zang organs (solid organs).
There are fifteen Luo-connecting vessels (collateral vessels). There are transverse Luo vessels, and longitudinal Jing-main vessels, totaling eighteen thousand, along with Sun-lo vessels (minute collaterals), whose details cannot be counted.
The Luo-acupoints are located precisely in the middle of these two meridians. For example, if one stands and crosses their hands, at the end of the thumb and index finger, in the gap behind the high bone of the wrist, Lieque (LU7) is that point. Internally is the Lung Meridian of Hand-Taiyin, externally is the Large Intestine Meridian of Hand-Yangming. The Lieque point intersects between the two meridians. If the Luo-point is needled, both the exterior and interior aspects are treated. The others follow this pattern.
Among the sixty points of the Liu-zhu (Flowing and Pouring) system, these fifteen Luo-points are not included. Each of the twelve regular meridians has one Luo-point. Additionally, there are three extra Luo-points. The Yang-qiao Luo-point is on the Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang, the Yin-qiao Luo-point is on the Kidney Meridian of Foot-Shaoyin, and the Great Luo of the Spleen is on the Spleen Meridian of Foot-Taiyin. This is the distinction among these fifteen Luo-points.
The Liver Meridian of Foot-Jueyin ascends to eight cun above the medial malleolus, crossing posterior to the Spleen Meridian of Foot-Taiyin. The Spleen Meridian of Foot-Taiyin, however, crosses anterior to the Liver Meridian of Foot-Jueyin.
The Eight Intersecting Points are the essence of the Dao of acupuncture. However, the specific techniques transmitted by Master Guo are unknown; it is only recorded that they were transmitted by a hermit of Mount Shaoshi. In recent times, its use has often yielded results exceeding mere numerical limits. I have a passion for this technique, no less than Liu Ling (courtesy name Bolun) had for wine. I only regret that when I first began learning this art, my mental understanding was incomplete, and my manual skills were unformed, while frequent wars caused the loss of all family-collected diagrams and the original texts of this craft. It has been fifteen years now; I have eagerly sought but failed to find them. Recently, I obtained a copy from the Wang family at Tongtai Beizi, which was identical to the old family collection, except for one or two erroneous characters. Upon studying it, there was no harm. I re-tested this method and understood it thoroughly; diseases were invariably cured. When diagnosing patients, clearly coordinating upper and lower treatments to attack together is like assembling royal troops, capturing minor traitors, and catching petty thieves. Even if some are missed, they would be few. Alas, how miraculous! Obtaining this technique today is indeed Heaven's great favor upon me. However, my passion is not to use this for personal gain. Rather, it is to relieve the people from the suffering of itching, epilepsy, pain, chronic weakness, disability, and severe illness. Whether other learners share this passion is something I dare not presume.
