The Yellow Emperor discussed the Shu points for treating water diseases, totaling fifty-seven locations. Above the sacrum are five rows, each with five points, referred to as the fifty-seven Kidney Shu points. This is where yin accumulates and where water enters and exits. These five rows of five points above the sacrum are the Kidney Shu. Therefore, in water diseases, downward manifestation includes swelling of the lower limbs and abdominal distension; upward manifestation includes panting, calling out, and inability to lie flat. This indicates simultaneous disease of the root and branch. Thus, the Lung manifests as panting and calling, while the Kidney manifests as rebellious qi preventing lying down. Divided into mutual transmission and joint reception, this is the retention of water qi. Above the Futu point (ST32), there are five rows of five points, which are the pathways of the Kidney. The three yin meridians intersect at the feet. Above each ankle is one row of six points, representing the downward flow of the Kidney meridian, named Taichong. In total, these fifty-seven points are the yin collaterals of the Kidney, where water qi resides.

Master Wang said: For edema, only Shuigou (GV26) should be needled. If other points are needled, death occurs when the water is exhausted. This is the warning from the *Mingtang Bronze Figure*. Quack doctors have killed many people by needling Shuifen (CV9). Although some cases with other points may recover, it is merely luck and should not be followed. Alternatively, using medicine, Yuyuli Wan (Hematitum Pill) is the first choice. I have frequently seen it prove effective, so I record it here. However, moxa on Shuifen (CV9) is taken as a key acupoint. An internal medicine doctor treated Mr. Li for edema with herbal decoctions for a long time without effect. Grateful for his prolonged hospitality, one day he suddenly moxa-ed Shuifen (CV9) and Qihai (CV6). By the next morning, the patient's face had become lean. Indeed, Shuifen (CV9) treats edema. *Mingtang Jing* originally stated that for edema, moxibustion is highly effective. It is because this point can separate water and prevent its reckless movement. However, it is unknown if *Mingtang Jing* also mentioned needling to a depth of 4 fen for other diseases requiring this depth.
