The Lung governs Qi. Its manifestations are observed in the skin and hair of the body. The movement of Qi circulates through the Zang-Fu organs and flows through the meridians. If invaded by Wind pathogen, the skin pores (Cou Li) become closed and obstructed.

Formula: Tingli San (Tinglizi Powder), sourced from *Shenghui Fang* (Holy Wisdom Formulas), treats upper Qi asthma with急促ness, chest fullness and oppression, and edema of the body and face.
Herbs: Tian Tingli (Descurainiae Semen Lepidii Semens, 3 fen, stir-fried between paper until purple), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, 3 fen, stir-bran fried until slightly yellow, pith removed), Chi Fuling (Poria Cocos with Red Cortex, 1 liang), Sangbaipipi (Mori Cortex Radicis, 1 liang, sliced).
Usage: Take 4 qian per dose.

Formula: Ziwan San (Sinapis Semen Powder), sourced from *Shenghui Fang*, treats attacks of upper Qi where lying down is impossible, abdominal distension and fullness, panting preventing eating, and edema of the body and face.
Herbs: Ziwan (Radix Asteris, washed to remove seedlings and soil), Mahuang (Herba Ephedrae, nodes removed, each 1 liang), Beimu (Fritillariae Bulbus, baked until slightly yellow), Dafupi (Arecae Pericarpium, sliced), Xingren (Semen Armeniacae Amarum, soaked in water, peel and tip removed, using double kernels).

Usage: Take 1 sheng of Tian Tingli, stir-fry between paper until purple, pound into an extremely fine powder. Place in a raw silk bag, soak in 5 sheng of clear wine for three to five days, take one spoonful warm.

Formula: Tinglizi Wan (Tinglizi Pill), treats lung-heat cough, upper Qi asthma with急促ness, inability to sit or lie down, edema of the body and face, inability to eat or drink. It reduces swelling, directs Qi downward, and stops cough.
