那些因邪气而哭泣、导致魂魄不安的人，是因为血气不足。气少，归属于心。心气虚的人，就会感到恐惧，闭眼想睡觉，梦见远行而精神离散，魂魄妄动。阴气衰弱的人，就会患癫病；阳气衰弱的人，就会患狂病。五脏是魂魄的居所，也是精神寄托的地方。魂魄飞扬不定，说明五脏空虚，于是邪神占据其中，神灵驱使鬼魅降临。脉象短促而微弱，说明脏腑不足，因此魂魄不安。魂归属于肝，魄归属于肺。肺主管津液，所以会出现鼻涕和眼泪流出。肺气衰弱，就会流泪；肝气衰弱，魂就不安。肝主易怒，其声音为呼号。风热搏结于阳经，侵入血脉，血实则生热，营气溢塞，不能通畅流动，从而导致心神烦乱。心主宰神志，反映在舌上。神由心主宰，舌是心的官窍，也是语言的机关。神有余，就会笑个不停。因为心脏藏神，在声音表现为笑，在情志表现为喜。现在心气实，则神有余，阳气外越，所以出现喜欢笑的证候。
方剂
七宝镇心丸：治疗心风。症状为狂言错乱，像邪疟疾一样，发作有定时。
药材：玉屑、金屑、银屑、黄丹、朱砂（研细，水飞）、铁精（细研）、远志（去心）、鬼臼（去毛）。
各一两。真珠、胆（去膜，研）各一钱。
以上药物研成粉末，加入已研好的药物，一起研磨均匀。用炼蜜调和，捣三五百杵，制成梧桐子大小的丸药。每次服用不拘时间，用温水送服五丸。
朱砂散：治疗心风烦躁狂言，胸膈壅滞，神思不安。
药材：朱砂（细研如粉）、茯神、人参（去芦头）、犀角屑、防风（去芦头）、麦门冬（去心焙）、真珠末、龙脑（研）。
以上药物研匀。
镇心丸：治疗心风狂言多惊，迷闷恍惚。

Those who cry due to pathogenic factors and experience unrest of the Hun (Ethereal Soul) and Po (Corporeal Soul) suffer from a deficiency of Blood and Qi. A deficiency of Qi is associated with the Heart. When Heart Qi is deficient, the person feels fearful, desires to close their eyes and sleep, dreams of traveling far, and experiences dispersion of spirit and erratic movement of Hun and Po. A deficiency of Yin Qi leads to Dian syndrome (epilepsy-like condition); a deficiency of Yang Qi leads to Kuang syndrome (mania). The Five Zang organs are the dwellings of Hun and Po and the foundations for spiritual residence. If Hun and Po fly about restlessly, it indicates emptiness in the Five Zang organs, allowing evil spirits to reside there, driven by divine influence. The pulse is short and thready, indicating insufficiency of the Zang organs, thus causing unrest of Hun and Po. Hun belongs to the Liver; Po belongs to the Lung. The Lung governs body fluids, hence nasal discharge and tears may occur. When Lung Qi is deficient, tears flow; when Liver Qi is deficient, Hun becomes unsettled. The Liver governs anger, and its vocalization is shouting. Wind-Heat combats the Yang meridians and enters the blood vessels. Blood excess generates heat, Ying (Nutritive) Qi overflows and blocks, failing to circulate freely, thereby causing mental agitation. The Heart governs Spirit (Shen), which is reflected in the tongue. Shen is governed by the Heart; the tongue is the organ of the Heart and the mechanism of speech. Excess of Shen results in incessant laughter. Since the Heart houses Shen, laughter manifests in sound, and joy in emotion. Currently, Heart Qi is excessive, leading to excess of Shen and hyperactivity of Yang Qi, thus presenting symptoms of joyful laughter.
Formulas
Qibao Zhenshen Wan (Seven-Treasure Heart-Calming Pill): Treats Xin Feng (Wind affecting the Heart). Symptoms include manic speech and confusion, resembling malaria with periodic attacks.
Ingredients: Yuxie (Jade Dust), Jin Xie (Gold Dust), Yin Xie (Silver Dust), Huangdan (Lead Oxide), Zhusha (Cinnabar, finely ground and washed with water), Tiejing (Iron Essence, finely ground), Yuanzhi (Polygala Root, heart removed), Guijiu (Podophyllum, hairs removed).
Dosage: Each 1 qian (approx. 3-5g). Zhenzhu (Pearl), Dan (Gallbladder, membrane removed and ground) each 1 qian.
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into powder. Mix with the already ground medicines until uniform. Blend with refined honey, pound 300-500 times. Form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 5 pills at any time with warm water.
Zhusha San (Cinnabar Powder): Treats Xin Feng causing irritability, manic speech, chest and diaphragm stagnation, and mental unrest.
Ingredients: Zhusha (Cinnabar, ground fine as powder), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood), Renshen (Ginseng, rhizome removed), Xijiao Xie (Rhinoceros Horn shavings - *Note: Use substitutes like Water Buffalo Horn in modern practice*), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root, rhizome removed), Maimendong (Ophiopogon Tuber, heart removed and dried), Zhenzhu Mo (Pearl Powder), Longnao (Borneol, ground).
Preparation: Grind uniformly.
Zhenshen Wan (Heart-Calming Pill): Treats Xin Feng with manic speech, frequent fright, confusion, and trance.
Ingredients: Xijiao Xie (Rhinoceros Horn shavings), Renshen (Ginseng, rhizome removed), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood) each 1 liang; Tianzhuhuang (Calamus/Tropical Bamboo Resin, finely ground), Zhusha (Cinnabar, ground fine as powder), Longchi (Dragon Teeth/Fossilized teeth/bones), Yuanzhi (Polygala Root, heart removed), Bo (Gold Leaf, finely ground) each 5 fen.

Xijiao Wan (Rhinoceros Horn Pill): Treats Heart Wind-Heat rushing upward to the head and face, tension in the Heart system, frequent fright, unstable manic speech, and mental unrest.
