耳朵是肾脏的外候。如果肾气实盛则产生内热，热邪导致上焦气机壅滞，经络阻塞不通，邪热之气侵入耳部经脉，就会导致四肢胀满拘急、腰背强直、胸胁剧烈疼痛、健忘不安、听力丧失等症状。
方剂：
犀角散（出自《圣惠方》），治疗风毒壅盛之热证，胸膈心胃痰湿阻滞，双耳虚性耳聋，头重脚轻，目眩。
药材：犀角屑、甘菊花、前胡（去除芦头）、枳壳（麸炒至微黄并去除瓤）、石菖蒲（各半两）、麦门冬（一两，去心）。
用法：每次服用三钱，用水一盏煎煮。
茯神散（出自《圣惠方》），治疗上焦风热，突然耳聋耳鸣，四肢胀满拘急，昏沉闷乱不利。适宜服用此方。
药材：茯神（一两）、羌活、蔓荆子、薏苡仁、防风（去除芦头）、黄芪（锉碎，各半两）、石菖蒲（半两）、麦门冬（一两，去心后焙干）、五味子（半两）、甘草（一分，炙至微赤并锉碎）。
用法：以上药物研为散剂。每次服用三钱，用水一中盏，加入生姜半分，煎至五分，去渣滓，饭后温服。
羚羊角散（出自《圣惠方》），治疗耳聋听不见言语，通利肾气，退热。
药材：羚羊角屑（一两）、沙参（三分）、防风（去除芦头）、木通（锉碎，各三两）、旋覆花（半两）、泽泻（三两）。
用法：每次服用三钱，用水一中盏，加入生姜半分，煎至五分，去渣滓，饭后温服。
羚羊角散（出自《圣惠方》），治疗肾气实盛，上焦风热壅滞，突发耳聋伴头重。

药材：川大黄（锉碎微炒）、栀子仁、黄芩（锉碎）、川升麻、川朴硝、黄连（去除须根）、生干地黄、玄参（各等分）。
用法：每服适量（原文此处有缺漏，依常规理解为制成丸剂或散剂服用）。
磁石散（出自《圣惠方》），治疗暴热耳聋，心膈部壅塞闷痛。适宜服用此方。
药材：磁石（一两，捣碎后用水淘洗去除赤色汁液）、木通（锉碎一两）、防风（一两，去除芦头）、枳壳（三分，麸炒至微黄并去除瓤）。
用法：研为散剂，空腹时温水送服。
The ear is the external manifestation of the Kidney. If Kidney Qi is excessive, it generates heat. Heat causes stagnation in the Upper Jiao (Upper Burner), leading to obstruction and blockage of the meridians, preventing free circulation. When pathogenic heat enters the meridians of the ear, it results in fullness and urgency in the four limbs, stiffness and rigidity of the waist and back, severe pain in the chest and hypochondrium, forgetfulness, restlessness, and deafness.
Prescriptions:
Xijiao San (Rhinoceros Horn Powder) [from *Shenghui Fang*]: Treats wind-toxin and stagnant heat, phlegm-stagnation in the chest and heart, bilateral deficiency-type deafness, heavy head, and dizziness.
Ingredients: Rhinoceros Horn Shavings (Xijiao Xie), Chrysanthemum Flower (Gan Juhua), Peucedanum Root (Qianhu, de-radicled), Aurantium Fruit (Zhike, bran-fried until slightly yellow and de-pithed), Acorus Tatarinowii Rhizome (Changpu, each 0.5 liang), Ophiopogon Tuber (Maimendong, 1 liang, de-core).
Usage: Take 3 qian per dose. Decoct with one zhan of water.
Fushen San (Poria Cocos Powder) [from *Shenghui Fang*]: Treats wind-heat in the Upper Jiao, sudden deafness and tinnitus, fullness and urgency in the four limbs, and mental confusion with obstruction. Suitable for this condition.
Ingredients: Poria Cocos with Hostwood (Fushen, 1 liang), Notopterygium Rhizome (Qianghuo), Vitex Fruit (Manjingzi), Coix Seed (Yiyiren), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng, de-radicled), Astragalus Root (Huangqi, sliced, each 0.5 liang), Acorus Tatarinowii Rhizome (Changpu, 0.5 liang), Ophiopogon Tuber (Maimendong, 1 liang, de-core and baked), Schisandra Berry (Wuweizi, 0.5 liang), Licorice Root (Gancao, 1 fen, honey-fried until slightly red and sliced).
Usage: Grind into a powder. Take 3 qian per dose. Decoct with one zhong zhan of water, add half a zhan of fresh ginger, boil down to five parts, strain, and take warm after meals.
Lingyangjiao San (Antelope Horn Powder) [from *Shenghui Fang*]: Treats deafness where speech cannot be heard, benefits Kidney Qi, and clears heat.
Ingredients: Antelope Horn Shavings (Lingyangjiao Xie, 1 liang), Codonopsis Root (Shashen, 3 fen), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng, de-radicled), Akebia Stem (Mutong, sliced, each 3 liang), Inula Flower (Xuanjinhua, 0.5 liang), Alisma Rhizome (Zexie, 3 liang).
Usage: Take 3 qian per dose. Decoct with one zhan of water, add half a zhan of fresh ginger, boil down to five parts, strain, and take warm after meals.
Lingyangjiao San (Antelope Horn Powder) [from *Shenghui Fang*]: Treats excess Kidney Qi with stagnant wind-heat in the Upper Jiao, causing sudden deafness and heavy head.
Ingredients: Antelope Horn Shavings (Lingyangjiao Xie, 1 liang), Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome (Baizhu, 3 fen), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng, de-radicled), Astragalus Root (Huangqi, sliced), Scrophularia Root (Xuanshen), Alisma Rhizome (Zexie), Red Poria (Chifuling, each 3 fen), Rehmannia Root (Sheng Dihuang, 1 liang), Bamboo Leaves (Zhuye, 27 leaves).
Usage: Decoct together until six parts remain, strain, and take warm after meals.
Dahuang Wan (Rhubarb Pill) [from *Shenghui Fang*]: Treats sudden deafness caused by wind-heat toxic qi attacking the ears, resulting from excess heat in Kidney Qi.
Ingredients: Rheum Palmatum Rhizome (Chuan Dahuang, sliced, crushed, and lightly fried), Gardenia Seed (Zhizi Ren), Scutellaria Root (Huangqin, sliced), Cimicifuga Rhizome (Chuan Shengma), Mirabilite (Chuan Puxiao), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian, de-sinewed), Dried Rehmannia Root (Sheng Gan Dihuang), Scrophularia Root (Xuanshen, equal parts).
Usage: Take appropriate amount per dose (text fragmentary).
Cishi San (Magnetite Powder) [from *Shenghui Fang*]: Treats sudden deafness due to intense heat, and oppression/stuffiness in the heart and diaphragm. Suitable for this prescription.
Ingredients: Magnetite (Cishi, 1 liang, crushed and washed with water to remove red juice), Akebia Stem (Mutong, sliced, 1 liang), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng, 1 liang, de-radicled), Aurantium Fruit (Zhike, 3 fen, bran-fried until slightly yellow and de-pithed).
Usage: Grind into a powder. Take warm on an empty stomach.
