用川芒硝五两。除黑黄脚不用。要真白如雪者。于销金银锅内盛。用新瓦盖口。又用熟
炭火约及沸。用小砖。火内存储。先烧砖热。然后下药在锅。砖上四面有火。慢慢微近前。

服用时制成如黍米大小的药丸。点入眼中。过去芦州知录彭大辩的父亲在临安时，突然得了这种眼疾。医生曾用此药治疗他，坐在旁边的人看得清清楚楚（病情好转）。因此得到了这个方子，多次用它来治疗（其他患者）。
另一个方子（出自《十便良方》，又名枸杞煎），治疗眼中翳障较小且轻的病症，兼治眼睛干涩疼痛。
取枸杞子和车前子的叶子各等份，在手中揉搓至熟软，使汁液渗出。另外再取桑叶两三层包裹好，悬挂在阴凉处过夜。
木方：治疗肤翳。
用方解石浸泡的苦历木水，浸渍皮青（一种染料或药材），用来洗眼即见效。
白鱼方（出自《龙木论》），治疗眼翳。
用白鱼的粉末，取少许点在翳障上。如果是书中所记载的（陈久者）更好。
去翳方（出自《肘后方》），治疗眼翳。
东壁土也可以单独使用，性平。削成细末并过筛，点入眼中，流泪后即见效。
又一个方子（出自《本草》），治疗眼中一切浮花样的翳障，以及眼中热泪。
将乌贼鱼骨细细研磨，用水飞法澄沉淀，然后倒掉水晒干。用熟蜜调和得当，点入眼中，慢慢取效。
又一个方子（出自《龙木论》），治疗眼中一切浮花样的翳障。
用[某物]精和乳汁研磨，滴入瞳孔中，能看见云外的物体。
治疗眼生肤翳，以及多年不退的翳障方。（出自《圣惠方》）
取附着在风鸟驴大肚子内的虫子三、五、七枚，晒干，加入石胆半钱，一同研成细末，盛放在磁盒内，不要让风吹到。每天在翳障上点三到五次，其翳障自然消退。
传信方（出自《龙木论》）
所记载的方法非常奇特，说眼泪痒，或者生翳，或者有赤脉，都能治疗。
用宣州的黄连捣碎筛成末，蕤核仁去皮，研磨成膏，两者等份混合。取没有虫蛀疾病的干枣三枚，切下枣头少许留着备用，去掉壳和核，将这两种药物填满枣中，再将切下的枣头盖回原处，合定。用少量棉布包裹，以薄为宜。用大茶碗量的半碗水，在银器内，用文武火煎取如鸡蛋大小的药液，用棉布过滤，待冷却后点眼。前后试验了几个人都有效。现在医生多用此方，大多见效，所以附记于此，不失为有验方的。
麝香方（出自《龙木论》），治疗风毒引起的目中肤翳。
上面只用麝香，必须当天打开，不用煎煮，细细研磨筛过后服用良好。如果孕妇不可服用。
白龙散（出自《御药院方》），治疗翳膜昏涩。
用川芒硝五两，除去黑黄色的脚料不用，要真正洁白如雪的。放在销金银锅内，用新瓦盖住口，又用熟炭火约至沸腾，用小砖块，在火内储存，先烧红砖块，然后把药放在锅里的砖上，四面都有火，慢慢微微靠近前面，直到锅盖被铁钳夹出锅，将药汁倒在容器中，凝结如玉色即可。如果要使用时，稍微研磨细腻，加入片白龙脑各等份，任意通顶点眼。另一方单用芒硝一两，放在铜器中，急火炼制，放冷后细罗，点眼角中，夜间卧时点妙。每次用少许吸入鼻内，如点眼少用，大有神效。
治疗风翳方（出自《千金方》）
取死猪鼻子烧成灰，处理后筛细，每日一剂，用热水送下方寸匕。
又一个方子（出自《本草》），去除肤翳中有如丝线般的虫子。
用蓬莪术叶绞取汁液，滴入眼中，有虫子像丝线一样出来就有效。
石蟹丸（出自《卫生家宝方》）
退翳明目，去除肝热。
地骨皮（一两） 枳壳（一两麸炒） 石蟹（三两） 牛膝（三两酒浸） 防风（一两）

点翳眼方（出自《卫生家宝方》）

又一个方子（出自《东垣兰室方》），治疗眼中白翳。

补阳汤（出自《试效方》）
治疗阳不胜其阴，乃是阴盛阳虚，九窍不通，导致青白翳见于大眦，以及足太阳、少阴经中郁遏，足厥阴肝经气不得上通于目，所以青白翳内阻也。应当在太阳、少阴经中，九原之下，以益肝中阳气，冲天上行，这是先补其阳，后于足太阳、少阴标中，泻足厥阴肝经火，下伏于阳中，这是其次的治疗。经云：阴盛阳虚，则当先补其阳，后泻其阴，这是治疗方法。每日清晨，以腹中无宿食服用补阳汤，临卧服用益阴丸。如果天气变大寒大风，并劳役遇日，饮食不调，精神不足或气弱，都不得服用。候时气和平，天气如常时服用，是先补其阳，使阳气上升，通于肝经之末，利空窍于目也。

Swallow pills the size of millet seeds. Instill into the eyes. In the past, Peng Dabian, the Recorder of Luzhou, whose father was in Lin'an, suddenly contracted this eye disease. A physician once treated him with this medicine, and those present clearly observed the improvement. Thus, he obtained this prescription and used it frequently to treat others.
Another prescription (from *Shibian Liangfang*, also known as Gouqi Decoction), treats mild cases of corneal opacity (nebula) and also addresses dryness and pain in the eyes.
Take equal parts of Fructus Lycii (Gouqi) and leaves of Semen Plantaginis (Cheqianzi). Rub them thoroughly in the hands until soft and juicy. Separately, wrap fresh leaves of Morus alba (Sangye) two or three layers thick, and hang them in a shaded place overnight.
Wood Prescription: Treats corneal opacity (nebula).
Use water from Sophora flavescens (Kuli Mu) soaked in Fangjie Shi (a type of mineral/stone dyeing agent), specifically the skin-blue extract, to wash the eyes for immediate effect.
White Fish Prescription (from *Longmu Lun*), treats corneal opacity (nebula).
Use powder of white fish. Apply a small amount directly onto the opacity. Powder from aged specimens recorded in books is preferable.
Opacity-Removing Prescription (from *Zhouhou Fang*), treats corneal opacity (nebula).
Soil from the east wall can be used alone; its nature is neutral. Grind into fine powder and sieve, then instill into the eyes. Effect is achieved upon tearing.
Another prescription (from *Bencao*), treats all types of floating, flower-like opacities in the eyes, as well as hot tears.
Grind cuttlefish bone (Hai Piao Xiao) finely. Use the water-floating method to settle the sediment, discard the water, and dry it. Mix appropriately with cooked honey and instill into the eyes for gradual effect.
Another prescription (from *Longmu Lun*), treats all types of floating, flower-like opacities in the eyes.
Grind [specific substance] essence with milk, and drip into the pupil. Vision will improve to see objects beyond clouds.
Prescription for treating corneal opacity (nebula) arising in the eyes, and stubborn opacities persisting for years (from *Shenghui Fang*).
Take 3, 5, or 7 worms found inside the large belly of a "wind bird donkey" (likely a specific local term or error for a bird/insect host). Dry them in the sun, add Banxia Chrysocolla (Shidan) half qian, grind together into a fine powder. Store in a porcelain box, protected from wind. Instill 3 to 5 times daily onto the opacity; the opacity will naturally dissolve.
Chuanxin Prescription (from *Longmu Lun*)
The recorded method is very unique: it treats itchy tears, opacity formation, or red meridians (vascularization).
Use Coptis chinensis (Huanglian) from Xuanzhou, pounded and sieved into powder. Remove the skin of Prunus mume kernel (Ruihe Ren) and grind into a paste. Mix equal parts. Take three dry jujubes free of insect damage. Cut off the top slightly and set aside. Remove the pit and flesh, filling the cavity completely with the two prepared substances. Replace the cut top and secure it. Wrap tightly in thin cotton cloth. Add half a bowl of water (measured by a large tea bowl) to a silver vessel. Boil using moderate heat until reduced to the volume of a chicken egg. Filter through cotton cloth. Cool before instilling into the eyes. Tested on several people with success. Physicians now use it frequently with good results, so it is appended here as a verified remedy.
Musk Prescription (from *Longmu Lun*), treats corneal opacity (nebula) caused by wind-toxicity.
Use only musk (Shexiang). It must be opened on the day of use. Do not decoct. Grind finely and sieve for oral administration. Contraindicated in pregnant women.
White Dragon Powder (from *Yuyao Yuanfang*), treats dimness and dryness due to membrane opacity.
Use 5 liang of Sichuan Natrii Sulfas (Mangxiao). Discard black/yellow impurities; use only pure white snow-like crystals. Place in a gold/silver melting pot. Cover with a new tile lid. Heat over熟 charcoal fire until boiling. Preheat a small brick in the fire, then place the pot on the hot brick. Fire surrounds the four sides. Slowly bring closer until the lid is secured with an iron clamp. Remove from fire, pour the liquid into a container to cool and solidify like jade. When needed, grind finely. Mix with equal parts of Borneolum Syntheticum (Pianlongnao). Instill freely into the eyes. Alternative method: Use 1 liang of Mangxiao, smelt in a copper vessel over high heat. Cool, sieve finely, and instill into the corner of the eye at bedtime. Also effective if snuffed into the nose in small amounts.
Treatment for Wind Opacity (from *Qianjin Fang*)
Burn the nose of a dead pig to ash, process and sieve finely. Take one dose daily, swallowed with warm water using a square-inch spoon.
Another prescription (from *Bencao*), removes skin-like opacity containing thread-like parasites.
Juice from leaves of Curcuma phaeocaulis (Penglan) squeezed and dripped into the eyes. Effective when thread-like worms emerge.
Stone Crab Pills (from *Weisheng Jiabao Fang*)
Reduces opacity, brightens vision, clears Liver heat.

Instillation for Eye Opacity (from *Weisheng Jiabao Fang*)

Store in a sealed porcelain container. When needed, take 1-2 qian, mix with a little Borneolum Syntheticum (Piannao), grind evenly, and store in a small vessel. Instill 2-3 times daily for miraculous effect.
Another prescription (from *Dongyuan Lanshi Fang*), treats white opacity in the eyes.

Opacity-Removing Ointment (from *Dongyuan Lanshi Fang*), treats black and white opacity.

Bu Yang Tang (from *Shixiao Fang*)
Treats condition where Yang cannot overcome Yin, i.e., Excess Yin and Deficient Yang, leading to obstruction of the nine orifices. Causes green-white opacity to appear at the outer canthus, and stagnation in the Foot-Taiyang and Foot-Shaoyin meridians, preventing Qi of the Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian from ascending to the eyes, thus causing internal blockage of green-white opacity. Treatment should benefit Liver Yang via the Taiyang/Shaoyin meridians below the Nine Origins, allowing Yang Qi to ascend. This is first tonifying Yang, then clearing Fire from the Liver Meridian at the Taiyang/Shaoyin markers, subduing it within Yang. As the Classics state: "In Excess Yin and Deficient Yang, first tonify Yang, then drain Yin." This is the correct method. Take Bu Yang Tang on an empty stomach in the early morning. Take Yi Yin Wan before bed. Do not take during extreme cold/windy weather, after strenuous labor, dietary irregularity, mental fatigue, or Qi deficiency. Wait for harmonious climate and normal weather. First tonify Yang to allow ascent, connecting to the extremities of the Liver Meridian, benefiting the eye orifices.

Take 50 pills initially, gradually increase to 100 pills. Swallow with clear tea broth. Frequently take more Bu Yang Tang and less of this medicine, as it cannot replace the former.
Sheng Yang Chaihu Tang (from *Lanshi Micang Fang*, also known as Sheng Yang Xie Yin Qianghuo Chaihu Bu Yang Tang)
Rhizoma Notopterygii (Qianghuo) Rhizoma Ligustici (Duhuo) Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gancaogen) Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Dangguishen) Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata (Shudihuang) each 1 liang Radix Ginseng (Renshen) Radix Astragali (Huangqi) Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (Baizhu) each half liang Radix Alismatis (Zexie) 3 qian Cortex Cinnamomi Rougui half qian Radix Bupleuri (Chaihu) de-rubbed 1.5 qian Fructus Broussonetiae (Chushi) half liang mixed with wine Rhizoma Anemarrhenae (Zhimu) 3 qian processed with wine (add 5 qian in summer) Process into coarse pieces. Take 5 qian per dose, decoct with 2 cups water... 50 pills, take one dose daily along with previous medicines. If weather is very hot, add Fructus Schisandrae (Wuweizi) 3 qian or half liang, Radix Asparagi (Tianmendong) de-heart half liang, plus Radix Paeoniae Alba (Baishaoyao) half liang, Fructus Broussonetiae (Chushi) half liang.
Bo Yun Tang (from *Shixiao Fang*)
In June of Wushen year, Commander Xu suffered from eye disease.
