【方剂】回阳丹：治疗阴毒伤寒。症状包括面色青、手足逆冷、心腹气胀、脉象沉细。
配方：干姜（一分，炮制裂开并切碎）、硫黄（细研加入）、荜澄茄、吴茱萸（用汤清洗七遍后焙干微炒）、附子（炮制裂开，去除皮和脐）、木香、桂心（一方去掉桂心）、全蝎（以上各半两）。以上药材捣碎过筛制成粉末。用酒煮面糊制作成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用不限时候，用生姜汤送服三十丸，频繁服用。服用三次后，用一盏热酒冲服，盖衣取汗，痊愈。
【方剂】正阳香丸：治疗阴毒伤寒。症状包括四肢逆冷、心下痛且硬、气息将绝。
配方：香子（微炒）、附子（炮制裂开，去除皮和脐）、天南星（炮制裂开）、硫黄（细研）、丁香、木香、吴茱萸（用汤清洗七遍后焙干微炒）、预知子、桂心（以上各一两）。以上药材捣碎过筛制成粉末，混合研磨均匀。用醋煮面糊制作成丸药。
【方剂】来苏丹：治疗阴毒伤寒。（又名正阳丸）
配方：硫黄、硝石、太阴玄精石（以上各一两）。以上药材都研磨极细。盛放在瓷瓶中，用瓦片盖住瓶口，用黄泥密封固定。在阴凉处用半斤炭火煅烧，直到火尽。取出后再次研磨成粉。用汤浸蒸饼和药制作成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用不限时候，用热酒送服三至五丸，盖衣取汗。
【方剂】黑圣散：治疗阴毒伤寒，发汗。
配方：川乌头（三个，每个劈成四片）、吴茱萸（六两，用汤浸泡七遍后焙干）。先在地上挖一个坑，夯实使其干净清洁。用大火烧红坑底，扫净灰烬。然后放入茱萸，再在上面放乌头。用一大碗好醋，慢慢浇入坑内，直到倒完。后用瓦盆盖住，待冷却后取出，捣碎过筛制成散剂。每次服用一钱，用生姜热酒调服，出汗即愈。
【方剂】治阴毒伤寒方：治疗阴毒伤寒。症状包括头痛、心烦急躁、手足厥冷。适宜服用此方。
用法：用附子一两，在炭火中烧至黑色，不要完全烧透。取出后用盆盖住，冷却后细研。用水磨沉香一分，煮稀粥饮，不限时候，调服二钱，盖衣取汗。如果行走十里路仍未出汗，再服用一次。
【外治法】治阴毒伤寒，四肢逆冷。适宜熨烫。
用法：用吴茱萸一升，用酒拌湿均匀，用两个熟绢袋盛装，蒸至极热。取来熨烫脚心，等到气机通畅、温暖均匀时停止熨烫。如果用汤煎温药漂洗，用来接续四肢阳气也可以。
【方剂】升麻鳖甲汤（出自《千金方》）：阴毒这种病，症状是面目青、身体疼痛像被棍棒打过、咽喉痛。发病五日可治，七日不可治。
配方：升麻（二两）、当归（二两或一两）、蜀椒（炒去汗水一两）、鳖甲（手指大一片，炙烤）、甘草（二两）、雄黄（半两，研细）。以上用水四升，煮取一升，顿服。老人小孩再服一次，以出汗为效。《肘后方》、《千金方》记载：阳毒用升麻汤，无鳖甲，有桂枝；阴毒用甘草汤，无雄黄。
【方剂】阴毒甘草汤（一名阳毒升麻汤，出自《活人书》）：治疗伤寒初得病，一二日便结成阴毒。或者服药经过十天以上，变成阴毒。症状包括身重背强、腹中绞痛、咽喉不利、毒瓦斯攻心、心下坚硬、气短不得呼吸、呕逆、唇青面黑、四肢厥冷、脉象沉细、身体像被击打、咽喉痛。五六日可治，至七日不可治。
配方：甘草（炙）、升麻、当归（炙，各三两或半两）、雄黄（研，一两或一分）、桂（去除粗皮半两）、蜀椒（去除目及闭口者，炒去汗水一分）、鳖甲（一两半，醋炙去除裙边）。以上除雄黄外，切碎如麻豆大。每次服用五钱匕，水一盏半，煎至八分，去渣，温服。如果人行走五里的时间，再进一服。温覆取汗，毒邪应当从汗而出。未出汗再服。《千金方》记载：无桂枝、雄黄。

配方：不灰木（一两）、延胡索（半两）、太阴玄精石（一分）。以上粗捣筛。每次服用二钱匕，水一盏，葱白一寸，同煎至六分，去渣，不计时候，温服。
【方剂】退阴丸：治疗伤寒伏阴气。症状包括手足厥冷、肌肤不热。
配方：硫黄（半斤，生用）、太阴玄精石（三两）。以上用柳椎细研为末，水浸炊饼和药制作成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用五十丸，煎艾汤送下，每日三次。
【方剂】夜光丹：治疗阴毒伤寒。症状包括四肢逆冷、面青、胸膈不利、呕哕、虚烦。
配方：硫黄（研）、太阴玄精石（研）、硝石（研，各一两）、附子（炮制裂开去除皮脐者一两，生去除皮脐者半两）。以上先将玄精、硝石两味，在铁铫子中慢火熬，候匀热，以匙子在中心隐作坑子，纳硫黄候熔，搅匀，放冷研细。另外捣罗生附子为细末，加入研好的药，合研匀。以软烂粳米饭和药制作成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用五丸，冷艾汤送下。
【方剂】附子回阳散：治疗阴毒伤寒。症状包括面青、四逆及脐腹痛、身体如冰。并疗一切卒暴冷气。
用法：用附子二枚，炮制裂开去除皮脐，捣为细散。每次服用三钱匕，取生姜自然汁半盏，冷酒搅匀，共一盏，调服。更以冷清酒一盏送下，相次再进一服。良久脐下如火，遍身和暖为度。

配方：牡蛎（粉）、炼粉、干姜（炮制裂开，各一钱）。以上为细末。男病用女唾调，手内擦热，紧掩二卵上，得汗出，愈。女病用男唾调，手内擦热，紧掩二乳上，得汗出，愈。卵与乳，男女之根蒂，坎离之分也。阴证大小不通，及诸杂病阴候，大小不通者，并宜此外法治。数日不通为急。

配方：川乌头、干姜、附子（以上俱炮制）、肉桂、甘草（炙）、芍药、半夏、吴茱萸、陈皮、大黄。以上各等分，为末。每次服用一钱，水一盏，生姜三五片，煎至七分，去浊滓取清，热服。
【方剂】玉女散（出自《十便良方》）：治疗阴毒瓦斯攻上腹痛、四肢逆冷、恶候。并治之。
用法：用川乌去皮脐，冷水浸七日后，薄切曝干，纸裹盛。有患者，取研末一大钱，入盐一小钱，水一盏半，煎至七分，通口服，压下阴毒，所往如猪血相似。未已，良久再进一服。
【方剂】还阳散（出自《十便良方》）：治疗阴毒。症状包括面色青、四肢逆冷、心燥腹痛。
用法：用硫黄末，新汲水调下二钱，良久，或寒一起，或热一起，更看紧慢，再服，汗出瘥。

[Formula] Huiyang Dan (Return Yang Pill): Treats Yin Toxicity Cold Damage. Symptoms include bluish complexion, cold extremities, abdominal distension, and deep/thin pulse.
Ingredients: Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum) (1 fen, processed until cracked and chopped), Liu Huang (Sulfur) (finely ground and added), Bi Cheng Qie (Schizonepetae Spica? Note: Usually Schisandra or similar, here likely Schisandrae Fructus or related aromatic), Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus) (wash with decoction seven times, dry by baking, slightly stir-fry), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata) (processed until cracked, remove skin and umbilical scar), Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Cortex) (one variant removes Gui Xin), Quan Xie (Scorpio) (each of the above 0.5 liang). Note: Likely Costus root or similar), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata) (processed until cracked, remove skin and umbilical scar), Tian Nan Xing (Arisaematis Rhizoma) (processed until cracked), Liu Huang (Sulfur) (finely ground), Ding Xiang (Caryophylli Flos), Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus) (wash with decoction seven times, dry by baking, slightly stir-fry), Yu Zhi Zi (Actinidiae Fructus), Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Cortex) (each of the above 1 liang). [Formula] Laishudan (Laishu Pill): Treats Yin Toxicity Cold Damage. (Also known as Zhengyang Wan).
Ingredients: Liu Huang (Sulfur), Xiao Shi (Natrii Sulfas), Taiyin Xuanjing Shi (Calcitum? Note: Specific mineral stone) (each of the above 1 liang). All are finely ground. Store in a porcelain bottle, cover mouth with tile, seal tightly with yellow mud. Calcine in shade with half a jin of charcoal fire until fire is exhausted. Remove and grind again into powder. Make pills using steamed dough soaked in water, size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 3-5 pills at any time with hot wine, cover with clothes to induce sweating.
[Formula] Heisheng San (Black Holy Powder): Treats Yin Toxicity Cold Damage, induces sweating.
Ingredients: Chuan Wu Tou (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix) (3 pieces, each split into 4), Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus) (6 liang, soak in decoction seven times, dry by baking). First dig a pit in the ground, tamp it clean. Heat the bottom red-hot with a large fire, sweep away ashes cleanly. Then add Wu Zhu Yu, followed by Chuan Wu Tou on top. Pour one large bowl of good vinegar slowly into the pit until finished. Cover with a tile pot, wait for cooling, then remove. Pound and sieve into powder. Take 1 qian per dose, mixed with ginger and hot wine. Sweating indicates cure.
[Formula] Formula for Yin Toxicity Cold Damage: Treats Yin Toxicity Cold Damage. Symptoms include headache, mental restlessness, and cold extremities. This formula is suitable.
Usage: Use 1 liang of Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata), burn in charcoal fire until black, but do not fully burn through. Remove, cover with a basin, cool, and grind finely. Grind 1 fen of Chen Xiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum) with water. Drink with thin porridge, at any time, mix and take 2 qian. Cover with clothes to induce sweating. If no sweat after walking ten li, take another dose.
[External Treatment] For Yin Toxicity Cold Damage with cold extremities. Moxibustion/warming compress is suitable.
Usage: Use 1 sheng of Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus), mix evenly with wine to moisten. Place in two cooked silk bags, steam until extremely hot. Apply as a warm compress to the soles of the feet. Stop when qi flows smoothly and warmth is uniform. Washing limbs with decocted warm medicines is also acceptable to restore yang.
[Formula] Shengma Biejia Tang (Cimicifugae and Turtle Shell Decoction) (from *Qianjin Fang*): Yin Toxicity presents with bluish face and eyes, body pain as if beaten, and sore throat. Treatable within five days; untreatable after seven days.
Ingredients: Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) (2 liang), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (2 liang or 1 liang), Shu Jiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium) (stir-fried to remove sweat, 1 liang), Bie Jia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum) (size of a finger, one piece, roasted), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (2 liang), Xiong Huang (Realgar) (0.5 liang, ground). Add 4 sheng of water, decoct to obtain 1 sheng. Take in one dose. Elderly and children take another dose. Induce sweating. *Zhouhou Fang* and *Qianjin Fang*: Yang Toxicity uses Shengma Tang without Bie Jia but with Gui Zhi; Yin Toxicity uses Gancao Tang without Xiong Huang.
[Formula] Yindu Gancao Tang (Yin Toxicity Licorice Decoction) (also named Yangdu Shengma Tang, from *Huren Shu*): Treats Cold Damage where Yin Toxicity forms within one or two days of onset. Or transforms into Yin Toxicity after taking medicine for more than ten days. Symptoms include heavy body and stiff back, colicky abdominal pain, difficult throat, toxic heat attacking the heart, hardness in the epigastrium, shortness of breath, vomiting, bluish lips and black face, cold extremities, deep/thin pulse, body feeling like being struck, sore throat. Treatable within five to six days; untreatable after seven days.
Ingredients: Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (honey-fried), Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (honey-fried, each 3 liang or 0.5 liang), Xiong Huang (Realgar) (ground, 1 liang or 1 fen), Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (remove coarse bark, 0.5 liang), Shu Jiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium) (remove eyes and closed-mouth ones, stir-fry to remove sweat, 1 fen), Bie Jia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum) (1.5 liang, vinegar-roasted, remove skirt-like edges). Except for Xiong Huang, chop like hemp seeds. Take 5 qian bi per dose, with 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 0.8 part, strain, and take warm. If the patient walks for five li, take another dose. Cover warmly to induce sweating; toxins should exit via sweat. If no sweat, take again. *Qianjin Fang*: No Gui Zhi or Xiong Huang.
[Formula] Zhengyang Tang (Zhengyang Decoction) (from *Shengji Zonglu*): Treats Yin Toxicity Cold Damage with panting and rapid breathing.
Ingredients: Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata) (processed until cracked, remove skin and umbilical scar, 1 liang), Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (remove coarse bark, 3 fen), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum) (processed, 0.5 liang). Chop like hemp seeds. Take 3 qian bi per dose, with 1 zhan of water, decoct to 0.5 part, strain, take warm at any time. Before taking medicine, drink alcohol to become slightly intoxicated, then take medicine. If craving food, give wine porridge; do not eat other things arbitrarily. Ingredients: Taiyin Xuanjing Shi (Calcitum?), Liu Huang (Sulfur), Xiao Shi (Natrii Sulfas), Bai Fan (Alumen), Shui Yin (Hydrargyrum) (each 1 fen). Grind together until Shui Yin (Hydrargyrum) disappears. Put into a porcelain box, roast until red hot. Mix with millet rice to make pills, size of small beans. Take 3 pills per dose with warm water.
[Formula] Sini San (Reverse Extremities Powder) (from *Shengji Zonglu*): Treats Yin Toxicity Cold Damage. Symptoms include cold extremities, cold body, thin pulse.
Ingredients: Taiyin Xuanjing Shi (Calcitum?) (3 fen, powder), Liu Huang (Sulfur) (1 liang), Bu Hui Mu (Asbestus?), Pen Xiao (Natrii Sulfas Crystallinus) (each 1 fen). Grind into fine powder, put into a yao ding (ceramic vessel), cover with a cup, seal seams with wet paper, place on fire until paper dries. Remove, grind finely, add Long Nao (Borneolum Syntheticum) (0.5 qian) and Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum) powder (0.5 liang), mix well.
[Formula] Tuiyin Tang (Retract Yin Decoction) (from *Huren Shu*): Treats Yin Toxicity Cold Damage. Symptoms include cold extremities, bluish face, abdominal pain. Also treats Yin Toxicity cough and counterflow qi.
Ingredients: Wu Tou (Aconiti Radix) (processed until cracked, remove skin and umbilical scar), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum) (processed, each 0.5 liang). Coarsely pound and sieve, stir-fry until color changes, cool. Take 2 qian bi per dose, with 1 zhan of water and a pinch of salt, decoct to half a zhan, strain, take warm. Another version: Deep/thin pulse, headache and heavy waist, slight cold injury. Take 1 zi per dose, add to Zhengyuan San, decoct together, add a pinch of salt. For Yin Toxicity cough, decoct one dose, sip hot slowly, stops immediately.

Ingredients: Bu Hui Mu (Asbestus?) (1 liang), Yan Hu Suo (Corydalis Rhizoma) (0.5 liang), Taiyin Xuanjing Shi (Calcitum?) (1 fen). Coarsely pound and sieve. Take 2 qian bi per dose, with 1 zhan of water and 1 cun of Cong Bai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus), decoct to 0.6 part, strain, take warm at any time.

[Formula] Yeguang Dan (Night Light Pill): Treats Yin Toxicity Cold Damage. Symptoms include cold extremities, bluish face, chest oppression, belching/vomiting, empty irritability.
Ingredients: Liu Huang (Sulfur) (ground), Taiyin Xuanjing Shi (Calcitum?) (ground), Xiao Shi (Natrii Sulfas) (ground, each 1 liang), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix) (processed until cracked, remove skin and umbilical scar, 1 liang; raw remove skin and umbilical scar, 0.5 liang). First, slow-cook Taiyin Xuanjing Shi and Xiao Shi in an iron ding until uniformly hot. Make a depression in the center with a spoon, add Liu Huang (Sulfur) until melted, stir evenly, cool, and grind finely. Separately pound raw Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix) into fine powder. Usage: Use 2 pieces of Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata), processed until cracked, remove skin and umbilical scar, pound into fine powder. Take 3 qian bi per dose, mix with 0.5 zhan of fresh Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) juice and cold wine, total 1 zhan, mix and take. Follow with another zhan of cold clear wine. Take another dose subsequently. After a while, heat like fire under the navel, whole body warm is the goal.

Ingredients: Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata) (processed until cracked, remove skin and umbilical scar, 2 pieces), Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (remove coarse bark, 0.5 liang), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (cut and baked, 0.5 liang), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum) (processed until cracked, 2 or 1 fen), Ma Huang (Ephedrae Herba) (remove nodes, decoct first, skim foam, bake dry, 0.5 liang). Coarsely pound and sieve. Take 5 qian bi per dose, with 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 0.7 part, strain, take on empty stomach in one dose, cover with clothes. For men, mix with female saliva, rub warm in hand, press tightly over both testicles. Sweating indicates cure. For women, mix with male saliva, rub warm in hand, press tightly over both breasts. Sweating indicates cure. Testicles and breasts are the roots of men and women, Kan and Li divisions. Equal parts, make into powder. Take 1 qian per dose, with 1 zhan of water and 3-5 slices of Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), decoct to 0.7 part, remove turbid sediment, take clear liquid hot.
[Formula] Yunu San (Jade Maiden Powder) (from *Shibian Liangfang*): Treats Yin Toxic Qi attacking upper abdomen causing pain, cold extremities, malignant signs. Treats all.
Usage: Use Chuan Wu (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix) remove skin and umbilical scar, soak in cold water for 7 days, slice thinly, dry in sun, wrap in paper. For patients, take 1 large qian of ground powder, add 1 small qian of salt, 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 0.7 part, take orally to suppress Yin Toxicity. Discharge resembles pig blood. If not finished, take another dose after a while.
[Formula] Huan Yang San (Restore Yang Powder) (from *Shibian Liangfang*): Treats Yin Toxicity. Symptoms include bluish face, cold extremities, mental irritability and abdominal pain.
Usage: Use Liu Huang (Sulfur) powder, mix with fresh well water, take 2 qian. After a while, chills or fever may arise, observe urgency/speed, take again. Sweating indicates cure.
[Formula] Yindu Gancao Tang (Yin Toxicity Licorice Decoction) (from *Qianjin Fang*): Treats Cold Damage onset where Yin Toxicity forms within one or two days. Symptoms include heavy body and stiff back, colicky abdominal pain, difficult throat, toxic heat attacking the heart, hardness in epigastrium, shortness of breath, vomiting, bluish lips and black face, cold extremities, deep/thin/tight/rapid pulse. Zhang Zhongjing said: This is the sign of Yin Toxicity, body feels like being beaten. Treatable within five to six days; untreatable after seven days.
