上为粗散。每服三钱，水一盏，煎七分。不拘时徐徐服。
四味消毒饮（四八）治痘疮热盛，毒瓦斯壅遏，无问前后皆可服。

上为粗末。每服一钱，加姜一片，水一盏，煎四分，去滓。温服，不拘时。
六味消毒饮（四九）解痘毒。

水一盏，煎七分。温服，不拘时。
消毒化斑汤（五十） 消风散毒，清眼目咽喉。

水一钟半，加淡竹叶十片，煎服。
解毒汤（五一）治一切热毒肿痛，或风热瘙痒。

真人解毒汤（五二） 治痘母。
忍冬花（半斤） 甘草节（一两） 木通 防风 荆芥 连翘（各三钱）
上分作三剂，用水、酒各一钟煎服，以肿消痘出为度。
葛根解毒汤（五三） 解痘毒止渴良方。

上取糯米泔水一盏，煎七分，入茅根自然汁一合服之。

化毒汤（五七） 治痘未出腹痛者。

水一盏，煎七分。温服，不拘时。
消风化毒汤（五八）

上加薄荷叶七片，水一盏，煎七分。温服，无时。
凉血化毒汤（五九）治痘疮初出，头焦黑。
归尾 赤芍药 生地黄 木通 连翘 牛蒡子 红花 紫草 桔梗 山豆根
上水煎服。或加童便一小盏亦可。
犀角化毒丸（六十）治诸积热，及痘疹后余毒生疮，口舌牙龈糜烂等证。

五福化毒丹（六一）治胎毒，及痘后头面生疮，眼目肿痛。

上为末，炼蜜丸，芡实大。每服一丸，白汤或薄荷汤化下。
（《外科》）五福化毒丹（六二） 方在外科七六。治一切热毒疮疖。
犀角散（六三） 治痘疮、痈毒、时毒热盛，烦躁多渴，小便赤涩，或赤斑。

紫草快斑汤（六八） 一名紫草汤。治痘疹血气不足，或血热不能起发，色不红活，
不灌脓等证。

上每服三五钱，水煎。
紫草木香汤（六九） 治痘疮里虚，痒塌黑陷闷乱。

紫草木通汤（七十）治痘疹出不快。
紫草 人参 茯苓 木通 甘草（减半） 糯米（等分）
上每服二三钱，水煎服。
紫草膏（七一）红紫黑陷者，暂用之。
紫草茸 白附子 麻黄（去节，汤泡，去黄沫，晒干用） 甘草（炙，各半两）
僵蚕（炒） 全蝎（炒，各八个）
上为细末，用白蜜一两，好酒半盏，先将紫草煎熬成膏，旋入各药丸，皂子大。每服
一丸，紫草煎汤化下，就用补药调理。如治惊搐，以金簿为衣，薄荷汤下。
红棉散（七二） 亦名天麻散。治痘疹身有大热，面赤气粗，无汗而表未散者可
服之。此药以麻黄、天麻发表为主，有汗者不可服。盖腠理已开，不可再发汗也。若有汗而
热，则当以惺惺散为和解之剂。故仲景之治表证，有宜发汗者，有宜和解者，有宜调和
营卫者。若有汗而热者，则和解为宜；虚而热者，则调和营卫为宜，如和中散寒之类是也。
麻黄（去节） 天麻 荆芥 炙甘草（各二钱） 全蝎（全者七枚）
上为末。每服一钱，以水半盏，薄荷叶二片，入酒四五滴，煎二三沸。带热服之，如疹
未出，再进一服，次又一服，即伤风寒证，服亦无妨。
快斑汤（七三）治起发迟。
人参（五分） 当归 防风 木通（各一钱） 甘草（三分） 木香 紫草 蝉蜕（各二分）
水一盏，煎七分。温服，不拘时。
快斑越婢汤（七四） 治痘疮手足不起发。
黄 （炙） 白芍药 桂枝 防风炙甘草
上加生姜一片，枣一枚，水煎服。
快透散（七五）治痘出不快。
紫草 蝉蜕 木通 芍药 炙甘草（等分）
上每服二钱，水煎。
王海藏先生云∶身后出不快，足太阳经也，用荆芥甘草防风汤。身前出不快，手阳明
经也，用升麻葛根汤。
四肢出不快，足阳明经也，用防风芍药甘草汤。此皆解毒升发之药也，不可不知。
鼠粘子汤（七六） 治痘稠身热毒盛，服此以防青干黑陷，并治斑疹稠密。
牛蒡子（炒） 归身 黄 炙甘草 柴胡 黄芩（酒炒） 连翘 地骨皮
上等分，水煎。热退则止服。
射干鼠粘子汤（七七）治痘疮壮热，大便坚实，或口舌生疮，咽喉肿痛，皆余毒所致。
鼠粘子（四两，炒杵） 甘草（炙） 升麻 射干（各一两）
上每服三钱，水一大盏，煎六分。徐徐温服。
薛氏曰∶前方若痘疹初出，发热 痛，根盘赤盛，或咽喉口舌疼痛，作渴引饮者宜用。
若因胃气虚弱发热而致前症者，宜人参麦门冬散。
（钱氏）独圣散（七八） 治痘疮倒靥陷伏。
用穿山甲取前足嘴上者，烧存性为末。每服四五分，以木香汤入少酒服之，或紫草汤
亦可。
无价散（七九）治一切痘疮倒陷，焦黑危急之症。
人牙 猪牙 狗牙 猫牙
上以炭火烧去烟存性，等分为末。每服三分，热酒调下。如痒塌寒战泄泻，煎异功散
调下。一方，人牙散∶只用人牙烧去烟存性，为末，酒调服。
三酥饼（八十）治初发热用以表汗解毒稀痘，神效。
辰砂 择上好明净无砂石者，以绢囊盛之，用麻黄、升麻、紫草、荔枝壳同煮一日夜，
研细，仍用前汤飞
过，晒干，再研极细，用真蟾酥另调作饼子。
麻黄去节，汤泡过，晒干为极细末，亦用蟾稣另调作饼。
紫草研极细，亦用蟾酥另调作饼。
蟾酥于端午日捉蟾取酥，捻前三饼，每饼加麝香少许，微炒。
上方如遇时行痘疹，小儿发热之初，每三岁者，将三饼各取半分，热酒化下，盖覆出汗，
如不能饮酒，用败毒散煎汤化下更好。若痘已出满，顶红紫色，为热毒之盛，宜煎紫草红花汤，
或化毒汤，将辰砂、紫草二饼调下少许以解之，但痘出之后不可服麻黄饼也。盖辰砂能解毒，
紫草凉心火，制过亦能发痘解毒，麻黄能发表发痘，蟾酥能驱脏腑中毒瓦斯从毛腠中作臭汗而出，
此四药诚解毒稀痘之神方也。
神应夺命丹（八一）治风邪倒陷及痘毒入里。
辰砂（择墙壁镜面者，以白纱囊盛之，用升麻、麻黄、紫草、连翘四味同入砂罐，
以新汲水、桑柴火煮一昼夜，取出将砂研细，仍将煮砂药汁去滓飞取末，待干听用二钱）
麻黄（连根节，酒蜜拌炒焦，八分） 蝉蜕（洗净去足，三分） 紫草（酒洗，五分）
红花子（五分） 穿山甲（酒炒，五分） 真蟾酥（三分）
上共研细末，用FS 酒杵丸，分作千粒，周岁者半丸，二岁者一丸，服止三丸，热酒化服，
浓盖取汗汗出痘随出也。择天医生气日修合。此方与三酥饼功同。
（万氏）夺命丹（八二） 治倒陷解发痘毒。
麻黄（蜜酒炒焦） 升麻（各五钱） 山豆根 红花子 大力子 连翘（各二钱半）
蝉蜕 紫草 人中黄（各三钱）
上研细末，酒、蜜和丸，辰砂为衣。薄荷叶煎汤下。
（东垣）凉膈散（八三）解痘疹里热良方。

退火丹（八四）治痘中狂妄，神方。
滑石 朱砂（飞，各一钱） 冰片（三厘）
共为细末。冷水调一分服。得睡，少时神安气宁，痘转红活矣。
（陈氏）通关散（八五）通心经，降心火，利小便良方。
山栀仁 大黄（炒，各一分） 木通 甘草（炙） 车前子（炒） 赤茯苓 人参 瞿麦
滑石（各三分） 扁蓄（炒，五分）
上用水一盏，灯草十根，煎半盏。温服。
玄参地黄汤（八六） 治痘疹衄血。
玄参 生地黄 牡丹皮 栀子仁（各钱半） 甘草 升麻（各半钱） 白芍药（一钱）
蒲黄（炒，五分）
水一钟，煎七分。温服。愚谓此方宜去升麻以塞上冲之源，勿谓但属阳明即宜用升麻也。
（万氏）清肺饮（八七）治肺热喘嗽声哑。
麦门冬 桔梗（各二钱） 荆芥穗 天花粉 知母（各一钱） 石菖蒲 诃子仁（各八分）
上水煎服。此当与清肺汤参用，方在后一四五。
导赤通气散（八八）治心虚声不扬者。
木通 生地黄 人参 麦门冬 当归身 石菖蒲 甘草
上加灯心，水煎服。
甘桔清金散（八九）治肺热咽痛，声不清。
桔梗（一两） 甘草 连翘（各半两） 诃子皮（三钱） 牛蒡子（炒，七钱）
上为细末。每服一钱，薄荷叶少许同前服。
加味甘桔汤（九十）咽喉肿痛暂用。
桔梗（八分） 甘草（钱二分） 牛蒂子 射干（各六分） 防风 玄参（各四分）
水一钟，煎服，或加生姜一片。热甚者，加黄芩，去防风亦可。
大如圣饮子（九一）治疮疹痘毒攻咽嗌，肿痛热渴，或成肿毒不消等证。
桔梗 甘草 鼠粘子（炒，各一两） 麦门冬（五钱）
上每服二钱，水煎。
（万氏）橘皮汤（九二）行滞消痰止呕吐。
橘皮（半去白，炒，二钱） 半夏（一钱） 白茯苓（钱半）
上加生姜三片，水一盏，煎七分。温服。
匀气散（九三） 行气化滞。
木香 青皮（各五钱） 山楂肉（二钱半）
上为末。每服一钱，甘草汤调服。
前胡枳壳汤（九四）治痰实壮热，胸中烦闷，大便坚实，卧则喘急。
前胡（一两） 枳壳 赤茯苓 甘草（炙） 大黄（各半两）
上 咀。每服三五钱，水一大盏，煎至六分。不拘时温服。此方宜量大小加减，
如身温脉微并泻者，不可服。
薛氏曰∶前症苦属肺胃实热，气郁痰滞，大便秘结，小便赤涩，烦渴饮冷，身热脉实者，宜
用之以疏通五内，使邪无壅滞，则痘疮轻而易愈也。
当归丸（九五） 治便坚三五日不通者。
当归（半两） 紫草（三钱） 黄连（钱半，炒） 炙甘草（一钱） 大黄（二钱半）
上以当归、紫草熬成膏，下三味研为细末，以膏和为丸，如胡椒大。三岁以下儿服十丸，
七八岁儿二十丸，食前清米饮下，渐加之，以和为度。
百祥丸（九六）治痘疮紫黑干陷，热毒便秘里实等症。红芽大戟不拘多少，用浆水煮
极软，去骨，日中晒干，复内原汁中煮，汁尽焙干研末，水丸，粟米大。每服一二十丸，研赤
芝麻汤下。
枣变百祥丸（九七）治同前而稍缓，可代百祥丸。
红芽大戟（去骨，一两） 青州枣肉（三十个）
上用水一碗，同煎至水尽为度，去大戟不用，将枣焙干，可和作剂，或捣烂为丸。从
少至多，以木香汤吞服，至利为度。
排毒散（九八）治痘毒发痈。
大黄 当归梢（各一两） 白芷 沉香 木香（各半两） 穿山甲（七片，土炒焦）
上为细末。看虚实大小加减，长流水煎沸调服。
（钱氏）苦参丸（九九）治痘后溃烂，疮毒疮癞。
苦参（一两） 白蒺藜 何首乌 牛蒡子 荆芥穗（各半两）
上为末，酒调面糊为丸。竹叶汤下。外科苦参丸见本门八八。
荆芥穗、炙甘草（各一两）、牛蒡子（四两，捣碎后炒制）。
以上药物制成粗散。每次服用三钱，加水一盏，煎至七分。随时慢慢服用。
四味消毒饮（方剂编号四八）：治疗痘疮热势旺盛，毒气壅滞阻塞，无论发病前后均可服用。
人参、炙甘草、黄连、牛蒡子（等量）。
以上药物制成粗末。每次服用一钱，加生姜一片，加水一盏，煎至四分，去渣。温服，随时服用。
六味消毒饮（方剂编号四九）：解除痘毒。
牛蒡子、连翘、甘草、绿升麻、紫草、山豆根（等量）。
加水一盏，煎至七分。温服，随时服用。
消毒化斑汤（方剂编号五十）：疏散风邪毒素，清利眼目咽喉。
升麻、柴胡、桔梗、甘草、连翘、龙胆草、牛蒡子、防风、蝉蜕、密蒙花。
加水一钟半，加淡竹叶十片，煎服。
解毒汤（方剂编号五一）：治疗各种热毒引起的肿痛，或风热瘙痒。
黄连、金银花、连翘。
以上用水煎服。
真人解毒汤（方剂编号五二）：治疗“痘母”（指痘疹过程中出现的严重并发症或特定证候）。
忍冬花（半斤）、甘草节（一两）、木通、防风、荆芥、连翘（各三钱）。
以上分为三剂，用水、酒各一钟煎服，以肿胀消退、痘疹发出为度。
葛根解毒汤（方剂编号五三）：解除痘毒、止渴的良方。
葛根、升麻（用量减半）、生地黄、麦门冬、天花粉（等量）、甘草（用量减半）。
以上取糯米泔水一盏，煎至七分，加入茅根自然汁一合服用。
实表解毒汤（方剂编号五四）：
人参、黄芪、当归梢、生地黄、甘草、白芍药、柴胡、升麻、酒炒黄芩、玄参、地骨皮。
以上加入少许薄荷叶、淡竹叶十片，用水煎服。
溯源解毒汤（方剂编号五五）：解除胎毒的良方。
当归身、川芎、生地黄、白芍药、人参、生甘草、黄连、连翘、陈皮、木通（等量）。
加水一盏，加淡竹叶十片，煎至半盏。温服，随时服用。
（陈氏）解毒防风汤（方剂编号五六）：治疗痘疮毒气炽盛。
防风、黄芩、地骨皮、白芍药（炒）、荆芥、牛蒡子。
以上每次服用四五钱，用水煎服，或制成粉末，用白开水调服。外科解毒防风汤方见本门第六十三方。
化毒汤（方剂编号五七）：治疗痘疹未发出前腹痛者。
白芍药、炙甘草（各一钱）、木香、青皮、枳壳（各七分）、山楂肉、连翘、肉桂（各五分）。
加水一盏，煎至七分。温服，随时服用。
消风化毒汤（方剂编号五八）：
防风、黄芪、桂枝、荆芥穗、升麻、白芍、牛蒡子（等量）、甘草（用量减半）。
以上加薄荷叶七片，加水一盏，煎至七分。温服，随时服用。
凉血化毒汤（方剂编号五九）：治疗痘疮刚发出时，痘顶焦黑。
归尾、赤芍药、生地黄、木通、连翘、牛蒡子、红花、紫草、桔梗、山豆根。
以上用水煎服。也可加童便一小盏同服。
犀角化毒丸（方剂编号六十）：治疗各种积热，以及痘疹后余毒引发的疮疡、口舌牙龈糜烂等症状。

五福化毒丹（方剂编号六一）：治疗胎毒，以及痘后头面生疮、眼目肿痛。
生地黄、天门冬、麦门冬、玄参、熟地黄（各三两）、甘草、甜硝（各二两）、青黛（一两半）。
以上制成粉末，炼蜜为丸，大小如芡实。每次服用一丸，用白开水或薄荷汤化开服用。

以上用水煎服。
紫草饮（方剂编号六六）：治疗痘疮黑陷不起。
紫草、当归、芍药、甘草、麻黄（等量）。
加水一盏，煎煮。随时服用。
紫草饮子（方剂编号六七）：治疗痘疹倒陷腹胀，大小便秘结。
紫草、人参、枳壳、山楂、木通、穿山甲（土拌炒）、蝉蜕（等量）。
加水一盏，煎至五分，分三四次温服。
紫草快斑汤（方剂编号六八）：又名紫草汤。治疗痘疹血气不足，或血热导致不能起发，颜色不红活，不灌浆等症状。
紫草、人参、白术、当归、川芎、芍药、茯苓、甘草、木通（等量）、糯米。
以上每次服用三五钱，用水煎服。
紫草木香汤（方剂编号六九）：治疗痘疮里虚，瘙痒塌陷、黑陷闷乱。
紫草、木香、人参、白术、茯苓、甘草（炙）、糯米。
以上每次服用三钱，用水煎服。
紫草木通汤（方剂编号七十）：治疗痘疹发出缓慢。
紫草、人参、茯苓、木通、甘草（用量减半）、糯米（等量）。
以上每次服用二三钱，用水煎服。
紫草膏（方剂编号七一）：适用于痘色红紫黑陷者，暂时使用。
紫草茸、白附子、麻黄（去节，热水泡，去黄沫，晒干用）、甘草（炙，各半两）、僵蚕（炒）、全蝎（炒，各八个）。
以上制成细末，用白蜜一两、好酒半盏，先将紫草煎熬成膏，随即加入各药丸，大小如皂荚子。每次服用一丸，用紫草煎汤化开服用，随后即用补药调理。若治疗惊搐，以金箔为衣，薄荷汤送服。
红棉散（方剂编号七二）：又名天麻散。治疗痘疹身体有大热，面色红赤气粗，无汗且表证未解者可服用。此药以麻黄、天麻发表为主，有汗者不可服用。因为腠理已开，不可再发汗。若有汗而发热，则应当用惺惺散作为和解之剂。所以张仲景治疗表证，有宜发汗的，有宜和解的，有宜调和营卫的。若有汗而发热，则和解为宜；虚而发热，则调和营卫为宜，如和中散寒之类即是。
麻黄（去节）、天麻、荆芥、炙甘草（各二钱）、全蝎（完整的七枚）。
以上制成粉末。每次服用一钱，用水半盏，薄荷叶二片，加入酒四五滴，煎二三沸。趁热服用，如果疹子未出，再进一服，接着再进一服，即使是伤风寒证，服用也无妨。
快斑汤（方剂编号七三）：治疗痘疹起发迟缓。
人参（五分）、当归、防风、木通（各一钱）、甘草（三分）、木香、紫草、蝉蜕（各二分）。
加水一盏，煎至七分。温服，随时服用。
快透越婢汤（方剂编号七四）：治疗痘疮手足部位痘疹不起发。
黄芪（炙）、白芍药、桂枝、防风、炙甘草。
以上加生姜一片、大枣一枚，用水煎服。
快透散（方剂编号七五）：治疗痘疹发出缓慢。
紫草、蝉蜕、木通、芍药、炙甘草（等量）。
以上每次服用二钱，用水煎服。
王海藏先生曾说：身后痘出不快，属于足太阳经，用荆芥甘草防风汤。身前痘出不快，属于手阳明经，用升麻葛根汤。四肢痘出不快，属于足阳明经，用防风芍药甘草汤。这些都是解毒升发的药物，不可不知。
鼠粘子汤（方剂编号七六）：治疗痘疹稠密、身体热毒旺盛，服用此方以防痘色青干黑陷，并治疗斑疹稠密。
牛蒡子（炒）、当归身、黄芪、炙甘草、柴胡、黄芩（酒炒）、连翘、地骨皮。
以上等量，用水煎服。热退则停止服用。
射干鼠粘子汤（方剂编号七七）：治疗痘疮壮热，大便坚实，或口舌生疮，咽喉肿痛，皆由余毒所致。
鼠粘子（四两，炒后捣碎）、甘草（炙）、升麻、射干（各一两）。
以上每次服用三钱，加大盏水，煎至六分。慢慢温服。
薛氏说：前方若用于痘疹初出，发热疼痛，根盘红赤旺盛，或咽喉口舌疼痛，口渴引饮者适宜使用。若因胃气虚弱发热而导致前述症状者，宜用人参麦门冬散。

以上用炭火烧去烟存性，等分为末。每次服用三分，热酒调服。如果出现痒塌、寒战、泄泻，煎异功散调服。另一法，人牙散：只用人牙烧去烟存性，制成粉末，酒调服。
三酥饼（方剂编号八十）：治疗初发热时用以表汗解毒、稀疏痘疹，神效。
辰砂：选择上好的明净无砂石者，用绢囊盛装，与麻黄、升麻、紫草、荔枝壳同煮一日一夜，研细，仍用前汤飞过，晒干，再研极细，用真蟾酥另外调制成饼。
麻黄：去节，热水泡过，晒干为极细末，也用蟾酥另外调制成饼。
紫草：研极细，也用蟾酥另外调制成饼。
蟾酥：于端午日捉蟾取酥，捻制上述三饼，每饼加少许麝香，微炒。
上方如遇时行痘疹，小儿初发热时，每三岁者，将三饼各取半分，热酒化下，盖被出汗。如果不能饮酒，用败毒散煎汤化下更好。如果痘已出满，顶呈红紫色，为热毒之盛，宜煎紫草红花汤，或化毒汤，将辰砂、紫草二饼调下少许以解之。但痘出之后不可服麻黄饼。因为辰砂能解毒，紫草凉心火，制过亦能发痘解毒，麻黄能发表发痘，蟾酥能驱脏腑中毒瓦斯从毛腠中作臭汗而出，这四味药确实是解毒稀痘的神方。
神应夺命丹（方剂编号八一）：治疗风邪倒陷及痘毒入里。
辰砂：选择墙壁镜面者，用白纱囊盛装，与升麻、麻黄、紫草、连翘四味同入砂罐，以新汲水、桑柴火煮一昼夜，取出将砂研细，仍将煮砂药汁去渣飞过取末，待干听用二钱。
麻黄（连根节，酒蜜拌炒焦，八分）、蝉蜕（洗净去足，三分）、紫草（酒洗，五分）、红花子（五分）、穿山甲（酒炒，五分）、真蟾酥（三分）。
以上共研细末，用酒杵丸，分作千粒，周岁者半丸，二岁者一丸，服药不超过三丸，热酒化服，厚盖取汗，汗出痘随之而出。选择天医生气日修合。此方与三酥饼功效相同。
（万氏）夺命丹（方剂编号八二）：治疗倒陷，解发痘毒。
麻黄（蜜酒炒焦）、升麻（各五钱）、山豆根、红花子、大力子、连翘（各二钱半）、蝉蜕、紫草、人中黄（各三钱）。
以上研细末，酒、蜜和丸，辰砂为衣。薄荷叶煎汤送服。
（东垣）凉膈散（方剂编号八三）：解除痘疹里热的良方。
黄芩、连翘（为君药）、甘草、栀子、薄荷、桔梗、竹叶。
以上用水煎服。
退火丹（方剂编号八四）：治疗痘中狂妄，神方。
滑石、朱砂（飞，各一钱）、冰片（三厘）。
共为细末。冷水调一分服。得睡，少时神安气宁，痘转红活矣。
（陈氏）通关散（方剂编号八五）：通心经，降心火，利小便的良方。
山栀仁、大黄（炒，各一分）、木通、甘草（炙）、车前子（炒）、赤茯苓、人参、瞿麦、滑石（各三分）、扁蓄（炒，五分）。
以上用水一盏，灯草十根，煎至半盏。温服。
玄参地黄汤（方剂编号八六）：治疗痘疹鼻衄（出血）。
玄参、生地黄、牡丹皮、栀子仁（各钱半）、甘草、升麻（各半钱）、白芍药（一钱）、蒲黄（炒，五分）。
加水一钟，煎至七分。温服。我认为此方宜去掉升麻以堵塞上冲之源，不要认为只要属阳明证就宜用升麻。
（万氏）清肺饮（方剂编号八七）：治疗肺热喘嗽声哑。
麦门冬、桔梗（各二钱）、荆芥穗、天花粉、知母（各一钱）、石菖蒲、诃子仁（各八分）。
以上用水煎服。此方当与清肺汤参用，方在后一四五。
导赤通气散（方剂编号八八）：治疗心虚声音不扬者。
木通、生地黄、人参、麦门冬、当归身、石菖蒲、甘草。
以上加灯心，用水煎服。
甘桔清金散（方剂编号八九）：治疗肺热咽痛，声音不清。
桔梗（一两）、甘草、连翘（各半两）、诃子皮（三钱）、牛蒡子（炒，七钱）。
以上制成细末。每次服用一钱，加少许薄荷叶同前服。
加味甘桔汤（方剂编号九十）：咽喉肿痛暂时使用。
桔梗（八分）、甘草（钱二分）、牛蒡子、射干（各六分）、防风、玄参（各四分）。
加水一钟，煎服，或加生姜一片。热甚者，加黄芩，去防风亦可。
大如圣饮子（方剂编号九一）：治疗疮疹痘毒攻咽嗌，肿痛热渴，或成肿毒不消等症状。
桔梗、甘草、鼠粘子（炒，各一两）、麦门冬（五钱）。
以上每次服用二钱，用水煎服。
（万氏）橘皮汤（方剂编号九二）：行滞消痰止呕吐。
橘皮（半去白，炒，二钱）、半夏（一钱）、白茯苓（钱半）。
以上加生姜三片，加水一盏，煎至七分。温服。
匀气散（方剂编号九三）：行气化滞。
木香、青皮（各五钱）、山楂肉（二钱半）。
以上制成粉末。每次服用一钱，甘草汤调服。
前胡枳壳汤（方剂编号九四）：治疗痰实壮热，胸中烦闷，大便坚实，卧则喘急。
前胡（一两）、枳壳、赤茯苓、甘草（炙）、大黄（各半两）。
以上切碎。每次服用三五钱，加大盏水，煎至六分。随时温服。此方宜根据年龄大小加减，如身体温和、脉微并腹泻者，不可服用。
薛氏说：前述症状苦于肺胃实热，气郁痰滞，大便秘结，小便赤涩，烦渴饮冷，身热脉实者，宜用之以疏通五内，使邪无壅滞，则痘疮轻而易愈也。
当归丸（方剂编号九五）：治疗大便坚硬三五日不通者。
当归（半两）、紫草（三钱）、黄连（钱半，炒）、炙甘草（一钱）、大黄（二钱半）。
以上以当归、紫草熬成膏，下三味研为细末，以膏和为丸，如胡椒大。三岁以下儿服十丸，七八岁儿二十丸，食前清米饮下，渐加之，以和为度。
百祥丸（方剂编号九六）：治疗痘疮紫黑干陷，热毒便秘里实等症状。红芽大戟不拘多少，用浆水煮极软，去骨，日中晒干，复内原汁中煮，汁尽焙干研末，水丸，粟米大。每服一二十丸，研赤芝麻汤下。
枣变百祥丸（方剂编号九七）：治疗同上但稍缓，可代替百祥丸。
红芽大戟（去骨，一两）、青州枣肉（三十个）。
以上用水一碗，同煎至水尽为度，去大戟不用，将枣焙干，可和作剂，或捣烂为丸。从少至多，以木香汤吞服，至利为度。
排毒散（方剂编号九八）：治疗痘毒发痈。
大黄、当归梢（各一两）、白芷、沉香、木香（各半两）、穿山甲（七片，土炒焦）。
以上制成细末。看虚实大小加减，长流水煎沸调服。
（钱氏）苦参丸（方剂编号九九）：治疗痘后溃烂，疮毒疮癞。
苦参（一两）、白蒺藜、何首乌、牛蒡子、荆芥穗（各半两）。
以上制成粉末，酒调面糊为丸。竹叶汤下。外科苦参丸见本门第八十八方。
Schisandra Spike (Jingjie Sui), Roasted Licorice Root (Zhi Gancao) (each 1 liang), Arctii Fructus (Niubangzi) (4 liang, crushed and stir-fried).
The above ingredients are made into a coarse powder. Take 3 qian per dose, add 1 zhan of water, decoct to 0.7 zhan. Take slowly at any time.
Siwei Xiaodu Yin (Formula No. 48): Treats severe heat in smallpox with toxic qi stagnation and obstruction; can be taken regardless of whether the disease has started or not.
Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Roasted Licorice Root (Zhi Gancao), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian), Arctii Fructus (Niubangzi) (equal parts).
The above ingredients are made into a coarse powder. Take 1 qian per dose, add one slice of ginger, add 1 zhan of water, decoct to 0.4 zhan, remove dregs. Take warm at any time.
Liwei Xiaodu Yin (Formula No. 49): Resolves smallpox toxin.
Arctii Fructus (Niubangzi), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao), Licorice Root (Gancao), Green Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Lv Shengma), Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix et Rhizoma (Shandougen) (equal parts).
Add 1 zhan of water, decoct to 0.7 zhan. Take warm at any time.
Xiaodu Huaban Tang (Formula No. 50): Disperses wind-toxin, clears eyes and throat.
Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng), Licorice Root (Gancao), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao), Gentianae Radix (Longdancao), Arctii Fructus (Niubangzi), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Bombyx Batryticatus (Chantui), Primulae Flos (Mimenghua).
Add 1.5 zhong of water, add ten slices of Lophatheri Herba (Dan Zhuye), decoct and take.
Jiedu Tang (Formula No. 51): Treats swelling and pain caused by various heat toxins, or itching due to wind-heat.
Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian), Lonicerae Japonicae Flos (Jinyinhua), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao).
Decoct with water and take.
Zhenren Jiedu Tang (Formula No. 52): Treats "Doumu" (a specific severe complication or syndrome in smallpox).
Lonicerae Japonicae Flos (Renjinhua) (0.5 jin), Licorice Joint (Ganjie) (1 liang), Akebiae Caulis (Mutong), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjie), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao) (each 3 qian).
Divide into three doses, decoct with water and wine (1 zhong each) and take. Stop when swelling subsides and eruptions appear.
Ge Gen Jiedu Tang (Formula No. 53): A good prescription for resolving smallpox toxin and relieving thirst.
Puerariae Lobatae Radix (Gegen), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma) (half dose), Rehmanniae Radix Recens (Sheng Dihuang), Ophiopogonis Radix (Maimendong), Trichosanthis Radix (Tianhuafen) (equal parts), Licorice Root (Gancao) (half dose).
Take 1 zhan of rice washing water, decoct to 0.7 zhan, add 1 he of natural juice from Imperatae Rhizoma (Maogen) and take.
Shibiao Jiedu Tang (Formula No. 54):
Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Astragali Radix (Huang), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui Shao), Rehmanniae Radix Recens (Sheng Dihuang), Licorice Root (Gancao), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao), Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Scutellariae Radix fried with wine (Jiu Pian Qin), Scrophulariae Radix (Xuanshen), Lycii Cortex (Digupi).
Add a little Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Bohe Ye) and ten slices of Lophatheri Herba (Dan Zhuye), decoct with water and take.
Suyuan Jiedu Tang (Formula No. 55): A good prescription for resolving fetal toxin.
Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui Shen), Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong), Rehmanniae Radix Recens (Sheng Dihuang), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao), Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Raw Licorice Root (Sheng Gancao), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chenpi), Akebiae Caulis (Mutong) (equal parts).
Add 1 zhan of water, add ten slices of Lophatheri Herba (Dan Zhuye), decoct to half a zhan. Take warm at any time.
(Chen's) Jiefang Feng Tang (Formula No. 56): Treats intense smallpox toxin.
Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), Lycii Cortex (Digupi), Paeoniae Radix Alba stir-fried (Baishao Chao), Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjie), Arctii Fructus (Niubangzi).
Take 4-5 qian per dose, decoct with water and take, or make into powder and take with plain boiled water. See Formula 63 in this section for External Medicine Jiefang Feng Tang.
Huadu Tang (Formula No. 57): Treats abdominal pain before smallpox eruption.
Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao), Roasted Licorice Root (Zhi Gancao) (each 1 qian), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang), Tangerine Green Peel (Qingpi), Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhiqiao) (each 7 fen), Hawthorn Flesh (Shanzha Rou), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao), Cinnamon Twig (Rougui) (each 5 fen).
Add 1 zhan of water, decoct to 0.7 zhan. Take warm at any time.
Xiaofeng Huadu Tang (Formula No. 58):
Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Astragali Radix (Huang), Cinnamon Twig (Guizhi), Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjie Sui), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Paeoniae Radix (Baishao), Arctii Fructus (Niubangzi) (equal parts), Licorice Root (Gancao) (half dose).
Add seven leaves of Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Bohe Ye), add 1 zhan of water, decoct to 0.7 zhan. Take warm at any time.
Liangxue Huadu Tang (Formula No. 59): Treats smallpox just erupting with blackened tops.
Angelicae Sinensis Radix Tail (Guiwei), Red Peony Root (Chishaoyao), Rehmanniae Radix Recens (Sheng Dihuang), Akebiae Caulis (Mutong), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao), Arctii Fructus (Niubangzi), Safflower (Honghua), Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng), Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix et Rhizoma (Shandougen).
Decoct with water and take. Alternatively, add a small cup of child's urine (Tongbian).
Xijiao Huadu Wan (Formula No. 60): Treats various accumulated heat, and sores caused by residual toxin after measles/smallpox, erosion of mouth, tongue, and gums.
Rhinoceri Cornu (Xi Jiao) (shaved), Rehmanniae Radix Recens (Sheng Dihuang), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjie Sui) (each 1 liang), Arctii Fructus stir-fried and crushed (Niubangzi), Red Peony Root (Chishaoyao), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng) (each 7 qian), Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Bohe), Scutellariae Radix stir-fried (Huangqin), Licorice Root (Gancao) (each 5 qian).
Make into powder, mix with refined honey to form pills the size of Euryale Seed (Qianshi). Take one pill per dose, wash down with Menthae Haplocalycis Herba tea.
Wufu Huadu Dan (Formula No. 61): Treats fetal toxin, and sores on head/face, eye swelling/pain after smallpox.
Rehmanniae Radix Recens (Sheng Dihuang), Asparagi Radix (Tianmendong), Ophiopogonis Radix (Maimendong), Scrophulariae Radix (Xuanshen), Prepared Rehmanniae Radix (Shu Dihuang) (each 3 liang), Licorice Root (Gancao), Sweet Niter (Tianxiao) (each 2 liang), Indigo Naturalis (Qingdai) (1.5 liang).
Make into powder, mix with refined honey to form pills the size of Euryale Seed (Qianshi). Take one pill per dose, dissolve in plain water or Menthae Haplocalycis Herba tea.
(External Medicine) Wufu Huadu Dan (Formula No. 62): See Formula 76 in External Medicine. Treats all kinds of heat-toxin boils and carbuncles.
Xijiao San (Formula No. 63): Treats severe heat in smallpox, carbuncle toxin, epidemic heat toxin, irritability, excessive thirst, red/difficult urination, or red macules.
Rhinoceri Cornu (Xi Jiao) (shaved), Licorice Root roasted (Zhi Gancao) (each half liang), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin) (each 1 liang).
Make into coarse powder. Take 2 qian per dose, add a small cup of water, decoct to 0.5 zhan. Take warm at any time.
Zicao Huadu San (Formula No. 64): Resolves excess heat-toxin causing smallpox.
Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Roasted Licorice Root (Zhi Gancao) (equal parts), Glutinous Rice (Nuomi) (50 grains).
Decoct with water and take.
Zicao San (Formula No. 65): Treats black sunken smallpox/measles due to deficiency of qi and blood, where lesions fail to rise.
Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Astragali Radix roasted (Huang Zhi), Roasted Licorice Root (Zhi Gancao), Glutinous Rice (Nuomi) (each 1.5 qian).
Decoct with water and take.
Zicao Yin (Formula No. 66): Treats black sunken smallpox that fails to rise.
Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Paeoniae Radix (Shaoyao), Licorice Root (Gancao), Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang) (equal parts).
Add 1 zhan of water, decoct. Take at any time.
Zicao Yinzi (Formula No. 67): Treats inverted/sunken eruption with abdominal distension, constipation of both bowels.
Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhiqiao), Hawthorn (Shanzha), Akebiae Caulis (Mutong), Pangolin Scales (Chuanshanjia - earth fried, stir-fried), Bombyx Batryticatus (Chantui) (equal parts).
Add 1 zhan of water, decoct to 0.5 zhan, take warm in 3-4 doses.
Zicao Kuaiban Tang (Formula No. 68): Also known as Zicao Tang. Treats insufficient qi and blood in smallpox/measles, or inability to rise due to blood heat, non-vibrant color, lack of suppuration.
Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong), Paeoniae Radix (Shaoyao), Poria (Fuling), Licorice Root (Gancao), Akebiae Caulis (Mutong) (equal parts), Glutinous Rice (Nuomi).
Take 3-5 qian per dose, decoct with water.
Zicao Muxiang Tang (Formula No. 69): Treats internal deficiency in smallpox, itching, sinking, black sunken eruption, confusion.
Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang), Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), Poria (Fuling), Licorice Root roasted (Zhi Gancao), Glutinous Rice (Nuomi).
Take 3 qian per dose, decoct with water.
Zicao Mutong Tang (Formula No. 70): Treats slow eruption of smallpox/measles.
Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Poria (Fuling), Akebiae Caulis (Mutong), Licorice Root (Gancao) (half dose), Glutinous Rice (Nuomi) (equal parts).
Take 2-3 qian per dose, decoct with water and take.
Zicao Gao (Formula No. 71): For temporary use in cases of red/purple/black sunken eruptions.
Lithospermi Radix bud (Zicao Rong), Typhonii Rhizoma (Baifu Zi), Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang - nodes removed, soaked in hot water, yellow foam removed, dried), Licorice Root roasted (Zhi Gancao) (each half liang), Silkworm (Jiangcan - stir-fried), Full scorpion (Quanxie - stir-fried) (each 8 pieces).
Make into fine powder. Use 1 liang of white honey and half a zhong of good wine. First decoct Zicao into a paste, then add other medicines to form pills the size of soap pods. Take one pill per dose, dissolve in Zicao decoction, followed by tonic regulation. For treating convulsions, coat with gold foil, wash down with Menthae Haplocalycis Herba tea.
Hongmian San (Formula No. 72): Also known as Tianma San. Treats high fever, red face, rough breathing, no sweat, and unresolved exterior syndrome in smallpox/measles. This formula focuses on releasing the exterior with Mahuang and Tianma; do not use if sweating is present, as pores are already open and further diaphoresis is contraindicated. If sweating with fever occurs, Xingxing San should be used as a harmonizing agent. Thus, Zhang Zhongjing treated exterior syndromes with diaphoresis, harmonization, or harmonizing Ying and Wei. Sweating with fever suits harmonization; deficiency with fever suits harmonizing Ying and Wei, such as formulas for harmonizing middle and dispelling cold.
Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang - nodes removed), Gastrodiae Rhizoma (Tianma), Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjie), Roasted Licorice Root (Zhi Gancao) (each 2 qian), Full scorpion (Quanxie - whole, 7 pieces).
Make into powder. Take 1 qian per dose, add half a zhan of water, two leaves of Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Bohe Ye), 4-5 drops of wine, boil 2-3 times. Take warm. If rash has not erupted, take another dose, then another. Even for wind-cold injury, it is safe.
Kuaiban Tang (Formula No. 73): Treats delayed eruption/rising.
Ginseng Radix (Renshen) (5 fen), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Akebiae Caulis (Mutong) (each 1 qian), Licorice Root (Gancao) (3 fen), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang), Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Bombyx Batryticatus (Chantui) (each 2 fen).
Add 1 zhan of water, decoct to 0.7 zhan. Take warm at any time.
Kaitou Yebipi Tang (Formula No. 74): Treats smallpox failing to rise on hands and feet.
Astragali Radix roasted (Huang Zhi), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao), Cinnamon Twig (Guizhi), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Roasted Licorice Root (Zhi Gancao).
Add one slice of ginger, one jujube, decoct with water and take.
Kaitou San (Formula No. 75): Treats slow eruption of smallpox.
Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Bombyx Batryticatus (Chantui), Akebiae Caulis (Mutong), Paeoniae Radix (Shaoyao), Roasted Licorice Root (Zhi Gancao) (equal parts).
Take 2 qian per dose, decoct with water.
Mr. Wang Haicang said: Slow eruption on the back belongs to the Foot Taiyang Meridian; use Jingjie Gancao Fangfeng Tang. Slow eruption on the front belongs to the Hand Yangming Meridian; use Shengma Gegen Tang. Slow eruption on limbs belongs to the Foot Yangming Meridian; use Fangfeng Shaoyao Gancao Tang. These are all detoxifying and ascending herbs; one must know them.
Shiunazi Tang (Formula No. 76): Treats dense smallpox with body heat and intense toxin; use this to prevent blue-dry-black sunken eruption, and treat dense macules/rash.
Arctii Fructus stir-fried (Niubangzi Chao), Angelicae Sinensis Radix Body (Guishen), Astragali Radix (Huang), Roasted Licorice Root (Zhi Gancao), Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu), Scutellariae Radix wine-fried (Huangqin Jiuchao), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao), Lycii Cortex (Digupi).
Equal parts, decoct with water. Stop taking when heat subsides.
Shegan Shiunazi Tang (Formula No. 77): Treats high fever in smallpox, solid stool, mouth/tongue sores, sore/swollen throat, all caused by residual toxin.
Arctii Fructus (4 liang, stir-fried and crushed), Licorice Root roasted (Zhi Gancao), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Belamcandae Rhizoma (Shegan) (each 1 liang).
Take 3 qian per dose, add a large cup of water, decoct to 0.6 zhan. Take warm slowly.
Mr. Xue says: The previous formula is suitable for early eruption of smallpox/measles with fever and pain, red and swollen base, or sore throat/mouth/tongue pain, thirst with desire to drink. If symptoms are due to weak stomach qi causing fever, use Renshen Maimendong San.
(Qian's) Dusheng San (Formula No. 78): Treats inverted/sunken smallpox.
Use the forefoot claws of Pangolin (Chuanshanjia), burn until carbonized but retaining properties, make into powder. Take 4-5 fen per dose, with Muxiang decoction and a little wine, or Zicao decoction.
Wujia San (Formula No. 79): Treats all cases of inverted/sunken smallpox, critical blackened conditions.
Human teeth (Renya), Pig teeth (Zhuya), Dog teeth (Gouya), Cat teeth (Maoya).
Burn with charcoal until smoke disappears but retaining properties, equal parts make into powder. Take 3 fen per dose, mix with hot wine. If itching, sinking, chills, diarrhea occur, decoct Yigong San and mix. Another method, Renya San: Only use human teeth burned until smoke disappears but retaining properties, make into powder, mix with wine.
Sansu Bing (Formula No. 80): Used at initial fever to release sweat, resolve toxin, and thin out smallpox; miraculous effect.
Cinnabar (Chensha): Select high-quality clear cinnabar without sand/gravel, place in silk bag, decoct together with Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Litchi Shell (Lizhi Qiao) for one day and night. Grind fine, fly over with previous decoction, dry, grind extremely fine. Mix separately with real Toad Venom (Chansu) to form cakes.
Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang): Remove nodes, soak in hot water, dry, grind extremely fine. Mix separately with Toad Venom (Chansu) to form cake.
Lithospermi Radix (Zicao): Grind extremely fine. Mix separately with Toad Venom (Chansu) to form cake.
Toad Venom (Chansu): Collect on Dragon Boat Festival, knead the above three cakes. Add a little Musk (Shexiang) to each cake, stir-fry lightly.
For epidemic smallpox/measles at initial fever in children: For every 3 years of age, take 0.5 fen of each of the three cakes, dissolve in hot wine, cover to induce sweating. If unable to drink wine, dissolve in Baidu San decoction. If smallpox is fully erupted with red/purple tops indicating intense heat-toxin, decoct Zicao Honghua Tang or Huadu Tang, take a little mixed with Chensha and Zicao cakes to resolve toxin. Do not take Mahuang cake after eruption. Cinnabar resolves toxin, Zicao cools Heart fire, processed Zicao can also promote eruption and resolve toxin, Mahuang releases exterior and promotes eruption, Toad Venom drives visceral toxin out through pores as foul sweat. These four drugs are indeed miraculous for resolving toxin and thinning smallpox.
Shenyng Duoming Dan (Formula No. 81): Treats wind-pathogen inversion and smallpox toxin entering interior.
Cinnabar (Chensha): Select mirror-wall cinnabar, place in white gauze bag, decoct with Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang), Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao) in clay pot with fresh water and mulberry wood fire for one day and night. Take out, grind cinnabar fine, filter the decoction, fly the powder, dry. Use 2 qian.
Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang - with roots/nodes, wine/honey stir-fried scorched, 8 fen), Bombyx Batryticatus (Chantui - cleaned, legs removed, 3 fen), Lithospermi Radix (Zicao - wine washed, 5 fen), Safflower Seed (Honghuazi, 5 fen), Pangolin Scales (Chuanshanjia - wine fried, 5 fen), Real Toad Venom (Zhen Chansu, 3 fen).
Grind all into fine powder, pound with wine mortar to form pills, divide into 1000 grains. One-year-old: half pill; Two-year-old: one pill. Max 3 pills per course. Dissolve in hot wine, cover thickly to induce sweat; eruptions follow sweat. Prepare on days of Heaven's Vital Qi. Same efficacy as Sansu Bing.
(Wan's) Duoming Dan (Formula No. 82): Treats inversion, releases smallpox toxin.
Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang - honey/wine stir-fried scorched), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma) (each 5 qian), Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix et Rhizoma (Shandougen), Safflower Seed (Honghuazi), Arctii Fructus (Dali Zi), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao) (each 2.5 qian), Bombyx Batryticatus (Chantui), Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Human Waste Yellow (Renzhonghuang) (each 3 qian).
Grind fine, mix with wine/honey to form pills, coat with Cinnabar (Chensha). Wash down with Menthae Haplocalycis Herba decoction.
(Dongyuan) Liangge San (Formula No. 83): Good prescription for resolving interior heat in smallpox/measles.
Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao) [Chief], Licorice Root (Gancao), Gardeniae Fructus (Zhizi), Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Bohe), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng), Lophatheri Herba (Zhuye).
Decoct with water and take.
Tuohuo Dan (Formula No. 84): Treats delirium in smallpox; divine prescription.
Talcum (Huashi), Cinnabar (Zhusha - flown), each 1 qian; Borneolum Syntheticum (Bingpian), 3 li.
Grind fine. Mix with cold water, take 1 fen. Sleep ensues, spirit calms, qi settles, smallpox turns red and vibrant.
(Chen's) Tongguan San (Formula No. 85): Opens Heart meridian, descends Heart fire, benefits urination; good prescription.
Gardeniae Fructus (Shanzhiren), Rheum Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang - stir-fried), each 1 fen; Akebiae Caulis (Mutong), Licorice Root roasted (Zhi Gancao), Plantaginis Semen (Cheqianzi - stir-fried), Red Poria (Chifuling), Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Diantherae Herba (Qumai), Talcum (Huashi) (each 3 fen), Polygoni Cyperi Herba (Bianxu - stir-fried), 5 fen.
Add 1 zhan of water, 10 stalks of Juncus (Dengcao), decoct to half a zhan. Take warm.
Xuanshen Dihuang Tang (Formula No. 86): Treats epistaxis in smallpox/measles.
Scrophulariae Radix (Xuanshen), Rehmanniae Radix Recens (Sheng Dihuang), Moutan Cortex (Mudanpi), Gardeniae Fructus (Zhiziren) (each 1.5 qian), Licorice Root (Gancao), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma) (each half qian), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao, 1 qian), Pteridis Spora (Puhuang - stir-fried, 5 fen).
Add 1 zhong of water, decoct to 0.7 zhan. Take warm. I believe this formula should omit Shengma to block the source of upward rushing; do not assume that because it belongs to Yangming, Shengma should be used.
(Wan's) Qingfei Yin (Formula No. 87): Treats lung heat wheezing/cough with hoarseness.
Ophiopogonis Radix (Maimendong), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng) (each 2 qian), Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjie Sui), Trichosanthis Radix (Tianhuafen), Anemarrhenae Rhizoma (Zhimu) (each 1 qian), Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Shichangpu), Terminalia Chebula Retius (Heziren) (each 8 fen).
Decoct with water and take. This should be used in conjunction with Qingfei Tang, see later Formula 145.
Daochi Tongqi San (Formula No. 88): Treats weak voice due to Heart deficiency.
Akebiae Caulis (Mutong), Rehmanniae Radix Recens (Sheng Dihuang), Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Ophiopogonis Radix (Maimendong), Angelicae Sinensis Radix Body (Danggui Shen), Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Shichangpu), Licorice Root (Gancao).
Add Juncus (Dengxin), decoct with water and take.
Ganjie Qingjin San (Formula No. 89): Treats lung heat sore throat, unclear voice.
Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng, 1 liang), Licorice Root (Gancao), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao) (each half liang), Terminalia Chebula Retius Peel (Hezipi, 3 qian), Arctii Fructus stir-fried (Niubangzi Chao, 7 qian).
Make into fine powder. Take 1 qian per dose, add a little Menthae Haplocalycis Herba leaf and take as before.
Jiawei Ganjie Tang (Formula No. 90): For temporary use in sore/swollen throat.
Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng, 8 fen), Licorice Root (Gancao, 1.2 qian), Arctii Fructus (Niubazi), Belamcandae Rhizoma (Shegan) (each 6 fen), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Scrophulariae Radix (Xuanshen) (each 4 fen).
Add 1 zhong of water, decoct and take, or add one slice of ginger. For severe heat, add Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), omit Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng).
Da Rusheng Yinzi (Formula No. 91): Treats toxin attacking throat/pharynx causing swelling/pain/heat/thirst, or unresolving abscesses.
Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng), Licorice Root (Gancao), Arctii Fructus stir-fried (Niubazi Chao) (each 1 liang), Ophiopogonis Radix (Maimendong, 5 qian).
Take 2 qian per dose, decoct with water.
(Wan's) Jupi Tang (Formula No. 92): Moves stagnation, resolves phlegm, stops vomiting.
Tangerine Peel (Jupi - half peeled white, stir-fried, 2 qian), Pinelliae Rhizoma (Banxia, 1 qian), White Poria (Baifuling, 1.5 qian).
Add three slices of ginger, 1 zhan of water, decoct to 0.7 zhan. Take warm.
Yunqi San (Formula No. 93): Moves qi, resolves stagnation.
Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang), Tangerine Green Peel (Qingpi) (each 5 qian), Hawthorn Flesh (Shanzha Rou, 2.5 qian).
Make into powder. Take 1 qian per dose, mix with Licorice Root decoction.
Qianhu Zhiqiao Tang (Formula No. 94): Treats phlegm-excess high fever, chest oppression, solid stool, wheezing when lying down.
Peucedani Radix (Qianhu, 1 liang), Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhiqiao), Red Poria (Chifuling), Licorice Root roasted (Zhi Gancao), Rheum Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang) (each half liang).
Cut into pieces. Take 3-5 qian per dose, add large cup of water, decoct to 0.6 zhan. Take warm at any time. Adjust dosage based on age/size. Do not use if body is warm, pulse is faint, and diarrhea is present.
Mr. Xue says: The aforementioned symptoms suffer from Lung/Stomach excess-heat, qi stagnation, phlegm obstruction, constipation, red/difficult urination, irritability/thirst for cold drinks, fever, excess pulse. Use this to unblock the five viscera, preventing pathogen stagnation, making smallpox mild and easy to heal.
Danggui Wan (Formula No. 95): Treats hard stool for 3-5 days without passage.
Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui, half liang), Lithospermi Radix (Zicao, 3 qian), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian, 1.5 qian, stir-fried), Roasted Licorice Root (Zhi Gancao, 1 qian), Rheum Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang, 2.5 qian).
Decoct Danggui and Zicao into paste, add the other three ground powders, mix with paste to form pills the size of peppercorns. Children under 3: 10 pills; 7-8 years old: 20 pills. Take before meals with clear rice drink, gradually increase to harmony.
Baixiang Wan (Formula No. 96): Treats purple/black dry-sunken smallpox, heat-toxin constipation, interior excess. Red-root Euphorbia (Hongya Daji) as needed, boil in grain water until very soft, remove bone, dry in sun, boil again in original juice until dry, grind to powder, water-pill, size of millet seed. Take 10-20 pills per dose, wash down with red sesame decoction.
Zao Bian Baixiang Wan (Formula No. 97): Treats same as above but milder, can replace Baixiang Wan.
Red-root Euphorbia (Hongya Daji - bone removed, 1 liang), Qingzhou Jujube Flesh (Qingzhou Zaorou, 30 pieces).
Add 1 bowl of water, decoct until water is gone. Remove Euphorbia, dry jujubes, mix into dough or grind to pills. Start small, increase dose, swallow with Muxiang decoction, stop when bowel movement occurs.
Paidu San (Formula No. 98): Treats smallpox toxin causing abscess.
Rheum Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang), Angelicae Sinensis Radix Tail (Danggui Shao) (each 1 liang), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi), Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum (Chenxiang), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang) (each half liang), Pangolin Scales (Chuanshanjia, 7 slices, earth fried scorched).
Make into fine powder. Adjust based on deficiency/excess and age. Boil in flowing water, mix and take.
(Qian's) Kushen Wan (Formula No. 99): Treats post-smallpox ulceration, toxin sores, skin diseases.
Sophorae Flavescentis Radix (Kushen, 1 liang), Tribuli Fructus (Bajili), Polygoni Multiflori Radix (Heshouwu), Arctii Fructus (Niubangzi), Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjie Sui) (each half liang).
Make into powder, mix with wine and flour paste to form pills. Wash down with Zhu Ye decoction. See Formula 88 in this section for External Medicine Kushen Wan.
