For cases where Damp-Heat is predominant, Sheng Yang Chu Shi Tang (Raising Yang and Expelling Dampness Decoction) is used. For Heat in the Blood, Si Wu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) is modified with Tiao Qin (Scutellariae Radix) and Huai Hua (Flos Sophorae). For Blood deficiency, Si Wu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) is modified with Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) and Fu Ling (Poria). For cases complicated by hemorrhoids and pain, Si Wu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) is modified with Huai Hua (Flos Sophorae), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma), and Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma). For chronic dysentery, Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) is used with Jiu Chao Shao Yao (Wine-fried Paeoniae Radix Alba). For sinking of Spleen Qi due to deficiency, the aforementioned formula (Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang) is modified with Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), Pao Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum), Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Fructus), and Fu Ling (Poria). For Kidney deficiency, Liu Wei Wan (Six-Ingredient Pill with Rehmannia Root) is used. For deficiency-cold, Ba Wei Wan (Eight-Ingredient Pill with Rehmannia Root) is used.
One prescription: Use San Qian (three qian) of powder of Galla Chinensis (Wu Bei Zi) and Er Qian (two qian) of powder of Alum (Ming Fan), with two bowls of water; boil until hot and wash immediately, resulting in prompt retraction.
Another prescription for treating prolapse of three to five cun: First wash with a decoction of Galla Chinensis (Wu Bei Zi) and Alum (Ming Fan); then use powder of Halloysit Rubra (Chi Shi Zhi), support the anus with oiled paper, and sprinkle the powder around all sides. This is effective.
Another prescription: Boil leaves of Morus alba (Sang Ye) and Prunus persica (Tao Ye) in water, add powder of Alum (Ming Fan), and wash. The condition will heal. Alternatively, apply a paste made from Ricinus communis seed (Bi Ma Zi) to the vertex (Baihui point), preventing further prolapse.
Another prescription: Stir-fry calcined gypsum (Duan Shi) until hot, wrap it in cloth, and have the patient sit on it. Replace when it cools.
