（乌骨鸡）味甘、咸。入肺经、肝经、肾经。功效专于补益虚劳损伤。配合凉血补精的药物，可治疗虚劳咳嗽（痨瘵）。对于因鬼击（一种突发性急症）导致猝死的患者，取乌鸡冠血滴入口中令其咽下，并剖开此鸡覆盖在心窝处，待冷却后丢弃在路边，效果极佳。以骨肉俱黑的为佳。男性患者用雌鸡，女性患者用雄鸡。妇科中有乌鸡丸。
（野鸡）味酸、甘，性寒。入脾经。功效专于补中益气，增强体力。止泻痢。治疗蚁蝮（毒蛇或毒虫）咬伤及动风之症。有旧疾者禁忌食用。即野鸡。
（鹅）味甘、温，有毒。入肝经。功效专于发散风邪、诱发疮疡。用火熏制的鹅肉毒性更大。鹅卵味甘、温，能补中气。多食会引发顽固性疾病。鹅血可治愈噎膈反胃（吞咽困难、食物反流）、痔疮有核结块。取白鹅胆二至三枚，取汁液加入熊胆二分、冰片五厘，研磨均匀，密封于瓷器内以防漏气。使用时用手指涂抹患处，立即见效。治疗噎膈病，将白鹅尾毛烧成灰，用米汤送服，每次一钱，数次即可痊愈。
（鸭）味咸、温、滑。入肾经、脾经。功效专于涂抹痈肿。治疗风湿痹痛。透达经络。通治耳聋。引导其他药物透入病灶部位。
（鸭）味甘、平，微咸。入肺经、肾经。功效专于滋阴除蒸（阴虚发热），止咳利水。治疗热痢。化解虚痰。白毛且年老者的鸭肉较好。葛可久创制有白凤膏，治疗虚劳。热血可解石砒毒及中恶溺死者的毒。也可涂抹蚯蚓咬伤的疮口。鸭卵味甘、寒、咸。清除心腹膈间的热邪。多食会引发冷气，使人气短胸闷。小儿多食会导致脚软。生疮者食用会使恶肉突出。不可与鳖肉、李子、桑椹同食。鸭头有利小便的作用，治疗水肿。鸭脑涂抹可治冻疮。即鸭。
（野鸭）味甘、凉。入肺经、肾经。功效专于补中益气。平和胃气，消食化积。治疗水肿及热毒风气引起的恶疮。身上各种小热疮，多年不愈的，只要多吃即可痊愈。并能杀灭脏腑内的一切寄生虫。忌与胡桃、木耳、豆豉同食。即野鸭。
(Costrich gallus niger, Black-bone Chicken) Sweet and salty in flavor. Enters the Lung (Taiyin), Liver (Jueyin), and Kidney (Shaoyin) meridians. Its function is specifically to tonify deficiency injuries. When combined with blood-cooling and essence-nourishing herbs, it treats consumption tuberculosis (Lao Zhai). For patients who have died suddenly from Gui Ji (a sudden acute condition attributed to external pathogenic factors or supernatural causes), drip the blood from the comb of a black-bone chicken into the mouth for swallowing, and then apply the opened heart of this chicken to the epigastric region; discard it by the roadside once cooled, which is excellent. Those with black bones and flesh are preferred. Use female chickens for male patients and male chickens for female patients. In gynecology, there is Wuji Wan (Black-Bone Chicken Pill).
(Pheasant) Sour and sweet in flavor, cold in nature. Enters the Spleen (Taiyin) meridian. Its function is specifically to tonify the Middle Jiao and augment Qi strength. It stops diarrhea and dysentery. It treats bites from venomous insects/snakes and conditions involving wind stirring internally. Contraindicated for those with chronic diseases. This refers to wild pheasants.
(Goose) Sweet and warm in flavor, toxic. Enters the Liver (Jueyin) meridian. Its function is specifically to disperse wind and induce sores/ulcers. Geese smoked over fire are particularly toxic. Goose eggs are sweet and warm, tonifying Middle Qi. Excessive consumption induces stubborn diseases. Goose blood cures Yige Fanwei (dysphagia and regurgitation) and hemorrhoids with nodules. Take two to three white goose gallbladders, extract the juice, add Xiong Dan (Bear Bile) 2 fen, and Bing Pian (Borneol) 5 li. Grind uniformly, seal tightly in porcelain to prevent leakage. Apply with fingers when needed for immediate effect. To treat Yige disease, burn the tail feathers of a white goose to ash, take with rice water decoction, one qian per dose, cured after several doses.
(Duck) Salty, warm, and slippery in flavor. Enters the Kidney (Shaoyin) and Spleen (Taiyin) meridians. Its function is specifically for topical application on carbuncles and swellings. It treats wind-bi obstruction. It penetrates collaterals. It treats deafness. It guides other herbs to penetrate the site of disease.
(Duck) Sweet and flat in flavor, slightly salty. Enters the Lung (Taiyin) and Kidney (Shaoyin) meridians. Its function is specifically to nourish Yin and eliminate steaming bone disorder (Yin-deficiency fever). It stops coughing and promotes urination. It treats heat-dysentery. It transforms deficient phlegm. White-feathered and old ducks are superior. Ge Kejiu created Baifeng Gao (White Phoenix Paste) to treat deficiency consumptive diseases. Hot blood can resolve Shi Pi (arsenic) toxicity and poisoning from Zhong E drowning. It can also be applied to leech bites. Duck eggs are sweet, cold, and salty. They clear heat from the Heart, abdomen, and diaphragm. Excessive consumption induces cold qi, causing shortness of breath and chest tightness. Children eating too much may experience weak legs. Those with sores should avoid it as it causes malignant flesh protrusion. Do not consume with soft-shelled turtle meat, plums, or mulberries. Duck heads promote urination and treat edema. Duck brain applied topically treats frostbite. This refers to domestic ducks.
(Wild Duck) Sweet and cool in flavor. Enters the Lung (Taiyin) and Kidney (Shaoyin) meridians. Its function is specifically to tonify the Middle Jiao and augment Qi. It harmonizes the Stomach and aids digestion. It treats edema and severe sores caused by heat-toxicity and wind-pathogens. Small heat-sores on the body that have persisted for years will heal simply by consuming more of it. It also kills all parasites within the Zang-Fu organs. Avoid consuming with walnuts, wood ear mushrooms, or fermented soybeans. This refers to wild ducks.
