【蛤蚧】
主治功效：补益肾脏，滋养肺脏，平定喘息，止咳，补充精血，助益性功能。用于治疗肺痿（肺部组织萎缩病变），咯血，肺痈（肺部化脓性感染），消渴（糖尿病类症状），淋沥（小便淋漓不尽）。妇女月经闭止。
蛤蚧丸方：蛤蚧一对。（去除嘴和脚，用温水浸泡去除内膜，刮去血管，用米醋炙烤）生地黄、阿胶（炒制）、诃子（煨制去核）、麦冬、细辛、炙甘草各五钱。研成粉末，用蜂蜜制成如枣子大小的丸剂。每次服用一丸，饭后含服化尽。用于治疗肺中邪气，胸中积血导致疼痛及失音，以及虚劳咳嗽不止。
又一方：蛤蚧一对。（用酥油炙烤）紫菀、款冬花、鳖甲（炙烤）、贝母、皂角子（炒制）各一两，杏仁（炒制）一两五钱。研成粉末，用蜂蜜制成如梧桐子大小的丸剂。每次服用三十丸，姜汤送服。用于治疗妇女咳嗽不止，逐渐发展为肺痨（结核病类消耗性疾病）。
蛤蚧汤方：蛤蚧（酒浸后酥炙），知母、贝母（均焙干），鹿角胶，枇杷叶（均炙烤），葛根，桑白皮，人参，甘草，杏仁（炒制）各一两。制成散剂。每次服用二钱，水煎服。用于治疗咳嗽吐脓血，以及肺痿导致的身体消瘦，痰涎鼻涕粘稠。
【蛇蜕】
主治功效：祛除风毒，消退目翳（角膜云翳），治疗小儿各种惊痫，成人五邪（泛指多种邪气致病），言语错乱失常，止呕逆，安胎，催生。煎汁外洗或敷贴治疗疔肿疮疡，以及各种恶虫咬伤。
蛇蜕丹方：蛇蜕（未注明具体炮制，留空），冰片、枯矾、雄黄、黄油、核桃仁、花椒（焙干）各五分。水银、槟榔各一钱五分，杏仁、大枫肉各二十一枚。研成粉末，用陈年蜡烛油作为粘合剂制成丸剂。每天早晨用手搓丸置于鼻前嗅闻。治疗疥疮。
蛇蜕散方：乌梢蛇蜕一条，蝉蜕十四枚，血余（即人发，此处特指胎发）一握。（烧灰存性，即保留药性炭化）研成粉末。分三次服用，温酒调服并连续服用。治疗难产（倒产）。
又一方：蛇蜕（炙烤）、当归各等分。研成粉末，温酒送服一钱，以引起呕吐为度。治疗缠喉风（急性咽喉肿痛阻塞气道），风气闭塞。
[Gejie (Gekko Gecko)]
Indications: Tonifies the Kidney, nourishes the Lung, calms asthma, stops coughing, benefits essence and blood, assists sexual function. Treats Fei Wei (Lung Atrophy), hemoptysis, Fei Yong (Lung Abscess), Xiao Ke (Wasting-Thirst syndrome), Lin Li (Dysuria with dribbling). Amenorrhea in women.
Gejie Wan (Gejie Pill): Gejie (Gekko Gecko) 1 pair. (Remove beak and feet, soak in warm water to remove membrane, scrape away blood vessels, roast with rice vinegar). Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix), E Jiao (Colla Corii Asini, Donkey-Hide Gelatin) (stir-fried), He Zi (Terminalia Chebulae Fructus) (roasted, pitted), Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Radix), Xi Xin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Zhi Gan Cao (Prepared Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) each 5 qian. Grind into powder, form pills with honey the size of a jujube. Take one pill per dose, hold in mouth to dissolve after meals. Treats evil qi in the lungs, pain and aphonia due to accumulated blood in the chest, and persistent deficiency-type coughing.
Another prescription: Gejie (Gekko Gecko) 1 pair. (Roast with su, clarified butter). Zi Wan (Asteris Radix), Kuan Dong Hua (Farfarae Flos), Bie Jia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum) (roasted), Bei Mu (Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus), Sao Jiao Zi (Gleditsiae Sinensis Spina) (stir-fried) each 1 liang, Xing Ren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum) (stir-fried) 1.5 liang. Grind into powder, form pills with honey the size of a wutong seed. Take 30 pills per dose, swallow with ginger decoction. Treats persistent coughing in women, gradually developing into Lao Zhai (Consumption/Tuberculosis).
Gejie Tang (Gejie Decoction): Gejie (Gekko Gecko) (soaked in wine, roasted with su), Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), Bei Mu (Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus) (both baked), Lu Jiao Jiao (Colla Cornus Cervi), Pi Pa Ye (Loqu Leaf), Ge Gen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix), Sang Bai Pi (Mori Cortex), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Xing Ren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum) (stir-fried) each 1 liang. Make into a powder. Take 2 qian per dose, decoct in water and drink. Treats coughing up pus and blood, and emaciation due to Fei Wei (Lung Atrophy), with thick sticky saliva and nasal discharge.
[Shetui (Snake Slough)]
Indications: Dispels wind toxicity, reduces eye nebula (corneal opacity), treats various types of infantile convulsions and epilepsy in children, Wu Xie (Five Evils/Various pathogenic factors) in adults, abnormal speech, stops vomiting and reflux, calms the fetus, promotes labor. Decocted juice for washing or applying externally to treat Ding Zhong (carbuncles), sores, and injuries from various venomous insects.
Shetui Dan (Shetui Pill): She Tui (Ophibolus Integripunctatus Skin) (processing unspecified), Bing Pian (Borneolum Syntheticum), Ku Fan (Alumen), Xiong Huang (Realgar), Huang You (Butyrum), Tao Ren (Pruni Semen), Hua Jiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium) (roasted) each 5 fen. Shui Yin (Hydrargyrum), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen) each 1.5 qian, Xing Ren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum), Da Feng Rou (Aleuritidis Folium) each 21 pieces. Grind into powder, bind with old candle wax to form pills. Every morning, rub the pill by hand and sniff it at the nose. Treats Scabies.
Shetui San (Shetui Powder): Wu She Tui (Boiga multomaculata Skin) 1 strip, Chan Tui (Cicadae Periostracum) 14 pieces, Xue Yu (Human Hair, specifically fetal hair here) a handful. (Burn to ash retaining properties, i.e., carbonized). Grind into powder. Divide into three doses. Mix with warm wine and take continuously. Treats Malpresentation (breech birth).
Another prescription: She Tui (Snake Slough) (roasted), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) in equal proportions. Grind into powder, take 1 qian with warm wine, inducing vomiting. Treats Chan Hou Feng (Peritonsillar Abscess/Wind-Obstruction of Throat), obstruction by wind qi.
