治目泪不止，日点三次，良（孟诜）。亦点暴赤目（时珍）。丹鸡者，治白癜风（《日华》）。
并疗经络间风热。涂颊，治口 不正；涂面，治中恶；卒饮之，治缢死欲绝，及小儿猝
惊客忤。涂诸疮癣，蜈蚣、蜘蛛毒，马啮疮，百虫入耳（时珍）。
【发明】时珍曰∶鸡冠血，用三年老雄者，取其阳气充溢也。风中血脉则口僻 ，冠血
咸而走血透肌，鸡之精华所聚，本乎天者亲上也。丹者阳中之阳，能辟邪，故治中恶、惊忤
诸病。乌者阳形阴色，阳中之阴，故治产乳、目泪诸病。其治蜈蚣、蜘蛛诸毒者，鸡食百虫，
制之以所畏也。高武《痘疹正宗》云∶鸡冠血和酒服，发痘最佳。鸡属巽属风、顶血至清至
高，故也。
【附方】旧九，新十。益助阳气∶诜曰∶丹雄鸡冠血，和天雄、太阳粉各四分，桂心二
分，丸服之。鬼击猝死∶乌鸡冠血，沥口中令咽；仍破此鸡拓心下，冷乃弃之道边，妙。（《肘

猝死寝死∶治猝死，或寝卧奄忽而绝，皆是中恶。用雄鸡冠血涂面上，干则再上，仍
吹入鼻中，并以灰营死人一周。（《肘后》）
猝然忤死不能言∶用鸡冠血，和真珠，丸小豆大。纳三、四丸入口中，效。（《肘后方》）
卒缢垂死心下犹温者∶勿断绳。刺鸡冠血滴口中，以安心神。或云∶男用雌，女用雄。

浸淫疮毒∶不早治，周身杀人。以鸡冠血涂之，日四五度。（《肘后》）
马咬成疮肿痛∶用鸡冠血涂之。 马用雌鸡，牝马用雄鸡。（《肘后方》）

【气味】咸，平，无毒。
【主治】 折骨痛及痿痹，中恶腹痛，乳难（《别录》）。
治剥驴马被伤，及马咬人，以热血浸之。白癜风， 疡风，以雄鸡翅下血涂之（藏器）。
热血服之，主小儿下血及惊风，解丹毒蛊毒，鬼排阴毒，安神定志。（时珍曰∶《肘后》治惊
邪恍惚大方中亦用之）。

阴毒∶鸡血冲热酒饮。

年久耳聋∶用炼成鸡肪五两，桂心十八铢，野葛六铢，同以文火煎三沸，去滓。每用枣
许，以苇筒炙熔，倾入耳中。如此十日，耵聍自出，长寸许也。（《千金翼》）
脑（白雄鸡者良）
【主治】小儿惊痫。烧灰酒服，治难产（苏恭）。
心（乌雄鸡者良）
【主治】五邪（《别录》）。
肝（雄鸡者良）
【气味】甘、苦，温，无毒。
时珍曰∶微毒。《内则》云∶食鸡去肝，为不利人也。
【主治】起阴（《别录》）。补肾。治心腹痛，安漏胎下血，以一具切，和酒五合服之（
孟诜）。疗风虚目暗。治女人阴蚀疮，切片纳入，引虫出尽，良（时珍）。
阴痿不起∶用雄鸡肝三具，菟丝子一升，为末，雀卵和，丸小豆大。每服一百丸，酒下，
日二。（《千金》）
肝虚目暗∶老人肝虚目暗。乌雄鸡肝一具（切），以豉和米作羹成粥食之。（《养老书》）
睡中遗尿∶雄鸡肝、桂心等分，捣丸小豆大。每服一丸，米饮下，日三服。遗精，加白
龙骨。
胆（乌雄鸡者良）
【气味】苦，微寒，无毒。
【主治】目不明，肌疮（《别录》）。月蚀疮，绕耳根，日三涂之（孟诜）。灯心蘸点胎赤
眼，甚良。水化搽痔疮，亦效（时珍）。
【附方】新四。
沙石淋沥∶用雄鸡胆（干者）半两，鸡屎白（炒）一两，研匀。温酒服一钱，以利为度。

【主治】 鼻作臭，用一对与脖前肉等分，入豉七粒，新瓦焙研，以鸡子清和作饼，安
鼻前，引虫出。忌阴人、鸡、犬见（《十便良方》）。

【主治】小便不禁，及气噎食不消（时珍）。
【附方】新三。气噎不通∶鸡嗉两枚连食，以湿纸包，黄泥固， 存性为末，入木香、
沉香、丁香末各一钱，枣肉和，丸梧桐子大。每汁下三丸。
小便不禁∶雄鸡喉咙，及 ，并屎白，等分为末。麦粥清服之。（《卫生易简方》）
发背肿毒∶鸡嗉及肫内黄皮，焙研。湿则干掺，干则油调搽之。（《医林正宗》）
里黄皮（一名鸡内金） （音脾鸱），鸡肫也。近人讳之，呼肫内黄皮为鸡
内金。男用雌，女用雄。
【气味】甘，平，无毒。
【主治】泄痢。（《本经》）小便频遗，除热止烦（《别录》）。
止泄精并尿血，崩中带下，肠风泻血（《日华》）。
治小儿食疟，疗大人淋漓反胃，消酒积，主喉闭乳蛾，一切口疮，牙疳诸疮（时珍）。

小便淋沥痛不可忍∶鸡肫内黄皮五钱，阴干烧存性，作一服，白汤下，立愈。（《医林

膈消饮水∶鸡内金（洗，晒干）、栝蒌根（炒）各五两，为末，糊丸梧桐子大。每服三
十丸，温水下，日三。（《总录》）
反胃吐食∶鸡 一具，烧存性，酒调服。男用雌，女用雄。（《千金》）
消导酒积∶鸡 、干葛为末，等分，面糊丸梧桐子大。每服五十丸，酒下。（《袖珍

噤口痢疾∶鸡内金焙研，乳汁服之。
小儿疟疾∶用鸡 黄皮烧存性，乳服。男用雌，女用雄。（《千金》）
喉闭乳蛾∶鸡肫黄皮勿洗，阴干烧末，用竹管吹之即破，愈。（《青囊》方）
一切口疮∶鸡内金烧灰敷之，立效。（《活幼新书》）
鹅口白疮∶烧鸡肫黄皮为末，乳服半钱。（《子母秘录》）
走马牙疳∶《经验》∶用鸡肫黄皮（不落水者）五枚，枯矾五钱，研搽立愈。《心鉴》∶用
鸡肫黄皮，灯上烧存性，入枯矾、黄柏末等分，麝香少许。先以米泔洗漱后，贴之。
阴头疳蚀∶鸡内金（不落水）拭净，新瓦焙脆，出火毒，为细末。先以米泔水洗疮，乃
搽之。亦治口疳。（《经验方》）
谷道生疮久不愈∶用鸡 烧存性为末，干贴之，如神。（《总录》）
脚胫生疮∶雄鸡肫内皮，洗净贴之。一日一易，十日愈。（《小山奇方》）
疮口不合∶鸡 皮，日贴之。
发背初起∶用鸡肫黄皮（不落水者）阴干，临时温水润开贴之，随干随润，不过三五个，

发背已溃∶用鸡肫黄皮，同绵絮焙末搽之，即愈。
金腮疮蚀∶初生如米豆，久则穿蚀。用鸡内金（焙）、郁金等分，为末。盐浆漱了贴之。

肋骨（乌骨鸡者良）
【主治】小儿羸瘦，食不生肌（《别录》）。
【附方】新二。小儿囟陷∶因脏腑壅热，气血不荣。用乌鸡骨一两（酥炙黄），生干地
黄（焙）二两，为末。每服半钱，粥饮调下。（《圣惠方》）
疮中朽骨∶久疽久漏，中有朽骨。以乌骨鸡胫骨，实以砒石，盐泥固济， 红出毒，以
骨研末，饭丸粟米大。每以白纸捻送一粒入窍中，外以拔毒膏药封之，其骨自出。（《医学
正传》）
距（白雄鸡者良）
【主治】产难，烧研酒服（苏恭）。下骨鲠，以鸡足一双，烧灰水服（时珍。出《外台》）。
翮翎 （白雄鸡者良）
【主治】下血闭。左翅毛，能起阴（《别录》）。
治妇人小便不禁，
【发明】时珍曰∶翅翮形锐而飞扬，乃其致力之处。故能破血消肿，溃痈下鲠。按葛
洪云∶凡古井及五月井中有毒，不可辄入，即杀人。宜先以鸡毛试之，毛直下者无毒，回旋
者有毒也。又《感应志》云∶五酉日，以白鸡左翅烧灰扬之，风立至；以黑犬皮毛烧灰扬之
，风立止也。巽为风，鸡属巽，于此可见。
【附方】旧二，新七。阴肿如斗∶取鸡翅毛（一孔生两茎者）烧灰饮服。左肿取左翅，
右肿取右翅，双肿并取。（《古今录验》）
阴猝肿痛∶鸡翮六枝烧存性，蛇床子末等分，随左右敷之。（《肘后方》）
妇人遗尿∶雄鸡翎烧灰，酒服方寸匕，日三。（《普济方》）
咽喉骨鲠∶白雄鸡左右翮大毛各一枚，烧灰水服。（《外台》）
肠内生痈∶雄鸡顶上毛并屎烧末，空心酒服。（《千金》）
决痈代针∶白鸡翅下两边第一毛，各一茎烧灰水服，即破。（《经验后方》）
解蜀椒毒∶鸡毛烧烟吸之，并水调一钱服之。（《千金方》）
马汗入疮∶鸡毛烧灰，酒服方寸匕。（《集验方》）

【主治】刺入肉中，以二七枚烧作灰，和男子乳汁封之，当出（孟诜）。解蜀椒毒，
烧烟吸之，并以水调灰服。又治小儿痘疮后生痈，烧灰和水敷之（时珍）。
小便不禁∶雄鸡尾烧研，酒服方寸匕。（《外台秘要》）
屎白∶雄鸡屎乃有白，腊月收之，白鸡乌骨者更良。《素问》作鸡矢。
【气味】微寒，无毒。
【主治】消渴，伤寒寒热（《本经》）。破石淋及转筋，利小便，止遗尿，灭瘢痕（《别
录》）。
治中风失音痰迷。炒服，治小儿客忤蛊毒。治白虎风，贴风痛（《日华》）。
治贼风、风痹，破血，和黑豆炒，浸酒服之。炒服之，亦治虫咬毒（藏器）。下气，通
利
大小便，治心腹鼓胀，消症瘕，疗破伤中风，小儿惊啼。以水淋汁服，解金银毒。以醋和，
涂蜈蚣、蚯蚓咬毒（时珍）。
【发明】颂曰∶按《素问》云∶心腹满，旦食不能暮食，名为鼓胀。治之以鸡屎醴，一
剂知，二剂已。王冰注云∶本草鸡屎利小便，并不治鼓胀。今方法当用汤渍服之耳。时珍曰∶
鼓胀生于湿热，亦有积滞成者。鸡屎能下气消积，通利大小便，故治鼓胀有殊功，此岐伯神
方也。醴者，一宿初来之酒醅也。又按∶《范汪方》云∶宋青龙中，司徒吏颜奋女苦风疾，
一髀偏痛。一人令穿地作坑，取鸡屎、荆叶然之，安胫入坑中熏之，有长虫出，遂愈也。
【附方】旧十四，新三十一。
鸡屎醴∶《普济方》云∶治鼓胀，旦食不能暮食。由脾虚不能制水，水反胜土，水谷不
运，气不宣流，故令中满。其脉沉实而滑。宜鸡屎醴主之。何大英云∶诸腹胀大，皆属于热。
精气不得渗入膀胱，别走于腑，溢于皮里膜外，故成胀满，小便短涩。鸡屎性寒利小便，诚
万金不传之宝也。用腊月干鸡屎白半斤，袋盛，以酒醅一斗，渍七日。温服三杯，日三。或
为末服二钱亦可。《宣明》∶用鸡屎（干者）、桃仁、大黄各等分为末，每服一钱，水一盏，
生姜三片，煎汤调下，食后，临卧服。《正传》∶用鸡屎炒研，沸汤淋汁，调木香、槟榔末二
钱服。一方∶用鸡矢、川芎 等分为末，酒糊丸服。牵牛酒∶治一切肚腹、四肢肿胀，不拘
鼓胀、气胀、湿胀、水胀等。有峨嵋一僧，用此治人得效，其人牵牛来谢，故名。用干鸡矢
一升炒黄，以好酒三碗，煮一碗，滤汁饮之。少顷，腹中气大转动，利下，即自脚下皮皱消
治疗眼泪不止，每日点眼三次，效果良好（孟诜）。也能用于点治突发红肿的眼病（李时珍）。丹鸡血，可治疗白癜风（《日华子本草》）。
并能治疗经络间的风热。涂抹脸颊，可治疗口角歪斜；涂抹面部，可治疗中恶邪气；突然饮用，可治疗缢死将绝、以及小儿突受惊吓或客忤之症。涂抹各种疮癣、蜈蚣和蜘蛛毒、马咬伤疮、百虫入耳等（李时珍）。
【发明】李时珍说：鸡冠血，要用三年老雄鸡的，取其阳气充盛。风邪侵入血脉则导致口眼歪斜，鸡冠血味咸而走血分，能透达肌肤，这是鸡精华聚集之处，本性属天，亲附于上。丹色鸡是阳中之阳，能辟除邪气，所以能治疗中恶、惊忤等各种病症。乌色鸡是阳形阴色，属于阳中之阴，所以能治疗产后乳汁不通、目泪不止等病症。它治疗蜈蚣、蜘蛛等毒的原因在于，鸡吃百虫，是用它所畏惧的东西来制约毒物。高武在《痘疹正宗》中说：鸡冠血配酒服用，发痘效果最佳。鸡属巽卦，属风，头顶之血至清至高，所以如此。

益助阳气：孟诜说：丹色雄鸡冠血，与天雄、太阳粉各四分，桂心二分，制成丸药服用。
鬼击猝死：用乌鸡冠血，滴入口中令其咽下；然后剖开这只鸡，将其覆盖在心下，变冷后丢弃在路边，效果奇妙。（《肘后备急方》）
猝死及睡眠中死亡：治疗猝死，或在睡眠中突然断气，都是中恶所致。用雄鸡冠血涂抹面部，干了再涂，并吹入鼻中，同时用灰烬围住死者一周。（《肘后备急方》）
猝然受惊而死不能说话：用鸡冠血，配合真珠，制成如小豆大小的丸药。含三、四丸在口中，有效。（《肘后方》）
被缢吊垂死但心下尚温者：不要切断绳子。刺取鸡冠血滴入口中，以安定心神。有人说：男性用雌鸡血，女性用雄鸡血。（《肘后备急方》）
小儿突发惊恐：表现为似有痛处，不知病情。用少许雄鸡冠血，滴入口中，效果奇妙。（《谭氏小儿方》）
小儿解颅：用丹色雄鸡冠上的血滴之，再用赤芍药末敷撒，效果很好。（《普济方》）
阴毒猝然疼痛：用雄鸡冠血，放入热酒中饮下，保暖卧床取汗。（《伤寒蕴要》）
女人阴部出血：女人房事不合礼法，导致出血。用雄鸡冠血涂抹患处。（《集验方》）
烂弦风眼：用鸡冠血点眼，每日三到五次。（《圣惠方》）
对口毒疮：用热鸡血频繁涂抹，使其消散。（《皆效方》）
发背痈疽：用雄鸡冠血滴在疽上，血干后再换，不超过五六只鸡，疼痛停止毒气消散，数日后自愈。（《保寿堂方》）
浸淫疮毒：不早治疗，会全身感染致死。用鸡冠血涂抹，每日四五次。（《肘后备急方》）
马咬成疮肿痛：用鸡冠血涂抹。马咬伤用雌鸡，母马咬伤用雄鸡。（《肘后方》）
蜈蚣咬疮：用鸡冠血涂抹。（钱相公《箧中方》）
蜘蛛咬疮：同上。
中蜈蚣毒：症状为舌肿胀退出肛门。用雄鸡冠血浸泡舌头，并吞下。（《青囊杂纂》）

【主治】骨折疼痛及痿痹，中恶腹痛，乳汁不通（《名医别录》）。
治疗被剥皮的驴马所伤，以及马咬人，用热血浸泡伤口。白癜风、疡风，用雄鸡翅下的血涂抹（陈藏器）。
热血内服，主治小儿便血及惊风，解除丹毒蛊毒，鬼排阴毒，安神定志。（李时珍说：《肘后备急方》治疗惊邪恍惚的大方中也使用它）。

多年耳聋：用炼成的鸡脂五两，桂心十八铢，野葛六铢，一同用文火煎煮三沸，去渣。每次用枣核大小，用芦苇筒加热熔化，倒入耳中。如此十天，耵聍自然排出，长约一寸。（《千金翼方》）
脑（白雄鸡者佳）
【主治】小儿惊痫。烧成灰用酒送服，治疗难产（苏恭）。
肝（雄鸡者佳）
【气味】甘、苦，温，无毒。
李时珍说：微毒。《礼记·内则》说：吃鸡要去掉肝脏，因为对人不利于健康。
【主治】起阴（《名医别录》）。补肾。治疗心腹痛，安胎止漏下血，用一只切碎，配合五合酒服用（孟诜）。治疗风虚目暗。治疗女人阴蚀疮，切片纳入阴道，引出虫体，效果良好（李时珍）。
阳痿不起：用雄鸡肝三只，菟丝子一升，研为末，用雀卵调和，制成如小豆大小的丸药。每次服用一百丸，酒送下，每日两次。（《千金方》）
肝虚目暗：老人肝虚目暗。用乌雄鸡肝一只（切碎），用豆豉和米做成羹粥食用。（《养老奉亲书》）
睡中遗尿：雄鸡肝、桂心等分，捣碎制成如小豆大小的丸药。每次服用一丸，米汤送下，每日三次。遗精者，加龙骨。
胆（乌雄鸡者佳）
【气味】苦，微寒，无毒。
【主治】视物不明，肌肉疮疡（《名医别录》）。月蚀疮，绕耳根，每日涂抹三次（孟诜）。用灯心草蘸胆汁点治胎赤眼，效果很好。用水化开搽痔疮，也有效（李时珍）。
【附方】新方四首。
沙石淋沥：用雄鸡胆（干者）半两，鸡屎白（炒）一两，研匀。温酒送服一钱，以利下为度。（《十便良方》）
耳疣目：黑雌鸡胆汁涂抹，每日三次。（《圣惠方》）

气噎不通：鸡嗉囊两个连食物一起，用湿纸包裹，黄泥封固，煅存性为末，加入木香、沉香、丁香末各一钱，枣肉调和，制成梧桐子大小的丸药。每服三丸，汁水送下。
小便不禁：雄鸡喉咙，及嗉囊，还有屎白，等分为末。用麦粥的清液送服。（《卫生易简方》）
发背肿毒：鸡嗉囊及肫内黄皮，焙干研末。湿证则干掺，干证则用油调搽。（《医林正宗》）
肫里黄皮（一名鸡内金） （音脾鸱），即鸡肫。近代人避讳，称肫内黄皮为鸡内金。男性用雌鸡，女性用雄鸡。
【气味】甘，平，无毒。
【主治】泄痢。（《神农本草经》）小便频数遗尿，清热除烦（《名医别录》）。
止泄精及尿血，崩中带下，肠风泻血（《日华子本草》）。

小儿囟陷：因脏腑壅热，气血不荣。用乌鸡骨一两（酥炙黄），生干地黄（焙）二两，研为末。每次服半钱，粥饮调下。（《圣惠方》）
疮中朽骨：久疽久漏，中有朽骨。以乌骨鸡胫骨，实以砒石，盐泥封固，煅红出毒，以骨研末，饭丸粟米大。每次以白纸捻送一粒入窍中，外以拔毒膏药封之，其骨自出。（《医学正传》）

【主治】产难，烧研酒服（苏恭）。下骨鲠，用鸡足一双，烧灰水服（李时珍。出《外台秘要》）。
翮翎 （白雄鸡者佳）
【主治】下血闭。左翅毛，能起阴（《名医别录》）。
治疗妇人小便不禁。
【发明】李时珍说：翅翮形状锐利且飞扬，是其发力之处。所以能破血消肿，溃痈下鲠。按葛洪说：凡古井及五月井中有毒，不可轻易进入，否则会杀人。宜先用鸡毛试探，毛直下者无毒，回旋者有毒。又《感应志》说：五酉日，用白鸡左翅烧灰扬起，风立至；用黑犬皮毛烧灰扬起，风立止。巽为风，鸡属巽，于此可见。

阴肿如斗：取鸡翅毛（一孔生两茎者）烧灰饮服。左肿取左翅，右肿取右翅，双肿并取。（《古今录验》）

【主治】刺入肉中，用十四枚烧作灰，和男子乳汁封之，当刺出（孟诜）。解蜀椒毒，烧烟吸之，并以水调灰服。又治小儿痘疮后生痈，烧灰和水敷之（李时珍）。
小便不禁：雄鸡尾烧研，酒服方寸匕。（《外台秘要》）
屎白：雄鸡屎乃有白，腊月收之，白鸡乌骨者更良。《素问》作鸡矢。
【气味】微寒，无毒。
【主治】消渴，伤寒寒热（《神农本草经》）。破石淋及转筋，利小便，止遗尿，灭瘢痕（《名医别录》）。
治疗中风失音痰迷。炒服，治疗小儿客忤蛊毒。治疗白虎风，贴风痛（《日华子本草》）。
治疗贼风、风痹，破血，和黑豆炒，浸酒服之。炒服之，亦治虫咬毒（陈藏器）。下气，通利大小便，治疗心腹鼓胀，消症瘕，疗破伤中风，小儿惊啼。以水淋汁服，解金银毒。以醋和，涂蜈蚣、蚯蚓咬毒（李时珍）。
【发明】苏颂说：按《素问》说：心腹满，早晨吃饭晚上不能吃，名为鼓胀。治疗用鸡屎醴，一剂见效，二剂痊愈。王冰注说：本草记载鸡屎利小便，并不治鼓胀。现在的方法应当用汤渍服之。李时珍说：鼓胀生于湿热，也有积滞形成的。鸡屎能下气消积，通利大小便，所以治疗鼓胀有殊功，这是岐伯的神方。醴者，是一夜初酿的酒醅。又按：《范汪方》说：宋青龙年间，司徒吏颜奋的女儿苦于风疾，一条腿偏痛。有人让挖地作坑，取鸡屎、荆叶燃烧，将小腿放入坑中熏之，有长虫出来，遂愈。
【附方】旧方十四首，新方三十一首。
鸡屎醴：《普济方》说：治疗鼓胀，早晨吃饭晚上不能吃。由脾虚不能制水，水反胜土，水谷不运，气不宣流，所以令中满。其脉沉实而滑。宜鸡屎醴主治。何大英说：诸腹胀大，皆属于热。精气不得渗入膀胱，别走于腑，溢于皮里膜外，所以成胀满，小便短涩。鸡屎性寒利小便，诚然是万金不传之宝。用腊月干鸡屎白半斤，袋盛，以酒醅一斗，渍七日。温服三杯，每日三次。或为末服二钱亦可。《宣明论方》：用鸡屎（干者）、桃仁、大黄各等分为末，每次服一钱，水一盏，生姜三片，煎汤调下，食后，临卧服。《医学正传》：用鸡屎炒研，沸汤淋汁，调木香、槟榔末二钱服。一方：用鸡矢、川芎等分为末，酒糊丸服。牵牛酒：治疗一切肚腹、四肢肿胀，不拘鼓胀、气胀、湿胀、水胀等。有峨嵋一僧，用此治人得效，其人牵牛来谢，故名。用干鸡矢一升炒黄，以好酒三碗，煮一碗，滤汁饮之。少顷，腹中气大转动，利下，即自脚下皮皱消
Treats continuous tearing, apply three times a day, effective (Meng Shen). Also used for acute red eyes (Shizhen). Blood of red rooster treats vitiligo (Ri Hua).
It also treats wind-heat in the meridians. Applied to the cheek, it treats facial paralysis; applied to the face, it treats sudden evil invasion; suddenly drunk, it treats near-death from hanging, and sudden fright or alien influence in children. Applied to various sores and tinea, centipede and spider venom, horse bite wounds, and insects entering the ear (Shizhen).
[Invention] Shizhen said: For chicken comb blood, use a three-year-old rooster, to take advantage of its abundant yang qi. When wind invades the blood vessels, it causes facial deviation; chicken comb blood is salty and enters the blood level, penetrating the muscles. It gathers the essence of the chicken, belonging to Heaven and adhering to the upper part. Red chickens are yang within yang, capable of repelling evil, thus treating sudden evil invasion, fright, and alien influence. Black chickens have yang form and yin color, representing yin within yang, thus treating postpartum lactation difficulties and excessive tearing. Its treatment of centipede and spider venom lies in the fact that chickens eat hundred insects, using what they fear to control the poison. Gao Wu in *Dou Zhen Zheng Zong* said: Chicken comb blood taken with wine is best for inducing smallpox eruptions. Chickens belong to Xun (Wind), and the blood at the crown is extremely pure and high, hence this effect.

Boosting Yang Qi: Shen said: Red rooster comb blood, mixed with Tian Xiong and Tai Yang powder, each 4 fen, Gui Xin 2 fen, made into pills and taken.
Sudden death from Ghost Strike: Use black rooster comb blood, drip into the mouth and swallow; then cut open this chicken and place it over the heart area, discard by the road when cold, wonderful. (*Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang*)
Sudden death and death during sleep: Treating sudden death, or sudden cessation of breath during sleep, all are due to evil invasion. Apply male rooster comb blood to the face, reapply when dry, and blow into the nose; also surround the deceased with ash. (*Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang*)
Sudden death from alien influence, unable to speak: Use chicken comb blood, mixed with Zhen Zhu, made into pills the size of soybeans. Place 3-4 pills in the mouth, effective. (*Zhou Hou Fang*)
Near-death from hanging, heart still warm: Do not cut the rope. Prick chicken comb blood into the mouth to calm the spirit. Some say: Use female chicken blood for men, male chicken blood for women. (*Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang*)

Liver Deficiency Dim Vision: Elderly liver deficiency dim vision. One black male chicken liver (chopped), mix with dou chi and rice to make soup/congee. (*Yang Lao Shu*)
