(Human Milk) Its main function is to tonify the Five Zang Organs (Five Viscera), making the body plump, skin white, and lustrous.
Zhang Cang constantly consumed human milk, thus living beyond a hundred years old, with a body as plump and white as a gourd. (From *Xinxiu Bencao* p. 186, *Daguan Bencao* Vol. 15, *Zhenghe Bencao* p. 364)
Taste: Bitter. Nature: Warm or slightly Cold. Non-toxic. Main indications: Treats five types of Lin syndrome (dysuria with pain), Guan-Ge disease (obstruction of both urination and defecation), promotes water passage, treats pediatric epilepsy, and adult [epilepsy]. It still possesses the efficacy of "self-returning divine transformation." When decocted with egg yolk until it dissolves into water, it treats pediatric fright-heat and dysentery.
Li Yun considers this to be the emission from an unmarried boy. The matter of "divine transformation" is not recorded in other prescriptions. In contemporary society, elderly women prepare "Egg Decoction" for children by boiling hair mixed with other ingredients for a long time to extract juice, which is given to children to dispel phlegm-heat. When treating various diseases using hair, one typically uses the disordered hair shed by their father while combing. It is unknown what specific substance this "hair" refers to? Moreover, this character does not appear in standard texts; perhaps its pronunciation is similar to "Suan," as people today refer to graying hair as "Suan Fa" (calculated/gray hair). Calligraphers also refer to disordered hair as " ", likely that " " is the phonetic equivalent of "Suan." The rationale regarding unmarried boys is not fully clarified. (From *Xinxiu Bencao* p. 186, *Daguan Bencao* Vol. 15, *Zhenghe Bencao* p. 363)
(Human Hair) Nature: Slightly Warm. Main indications: Treats cough, five types of Lin syndrome, obstruction of urination and defecation, pediatric fright-epilepsy, stops bleeding, epistaxis (nosebleed); when burned and blown into the affected area, relief is immediate.
This is simply ordinary human hair. Alchemists have already used disordered hair and nails burned to ash; hermits drink it to foster intimacy. Its therapeutic properties are similar to those of "Fa ". (From *Xinxiu Bencao* p. 187, *Daguan Bencao* Vol. 10, *Zhenghe Bencao* p. 363)
(Head Grease/Dandruff) Main indications: Treats obstructive Lin syndrome.
Taohongjing states: Head grease can float on the tip of a needle due to its oily nature. One should now use head grease from individuals who maintain a lustrous appearance. This grease can be formed into pills; it also treats Yie Ge (dysphagia/choking sensation) and treats Lao Fu (relapse due to overexertion after illness). (From *Xinxiu Bencao* p. 188, *Daguan Bencao* Vol. 15, *Zhenghe Bencao* p. 364)
(Human Urine) Nature: Cold. Main indications: Treats epidemic high fever with mania and running about, resolves various toxins. Use thoroughly dried urine, grind into powder, and take with boiling water. Human urine treats alternating chills and fever, headache, and Wen Qi disease; urine from an unmarried boy is particularly effective. Cloudy urine (Niao Bai) treats epistaxis and scalds/burns. Green mud from the eastern corner of a latrine pit treats Hou Bi (sore throat with swelling and obstruction), reduces carbuncles and swellings; if pus has already formed, it will cause them to rupture and drain.
In Jiaozhou and Guangzhou, local people use copper arrowheads heated until charred; if such an arrow pierces the skin, death follows immediately, unless fecal juice is ingested, in which case recovery occurs. Shooting pigs or dogs does not kill them because they consume feces.
For epidemic high fever, drinking fecal juice also leads to cure. Currently, near city temples, empty jars are sealed and placed in manure pits; the juice accumulated over years becomes very dark and bitter, named "Huang Long Tang" (Yellow Dragon Decoction). Drinking this cures patients in critical condition from Wen Bing (warm diseases). If a person initially suffers from headache, directly drinking several sheng (a unit of volume) of urine often results in recovery; combining it with Cong Chi Tang (Scallion and Fermented Soybean Decoction) is even better. The treatments using urine and green mud are as described above. Additionally, menstrual blood can detoxify poisoned arrows and treat Nv Lao Fu (female relapse due to sexual activity); the wash water from menstrual clothes is also beneficial. The ancient kingdom of Funan had a strange art that could prevent blades from cutting the body; only applying menstrual blood to the blade would cause death, as filth destroys Shen Qi (Spiritual Energy); furthermore, when preparing medicines, contact with it is taboo. Since skin is a single substance, it follows the precedent of feces and urine. Additionally, mixing human semen with eagle droppings can eliminate scars.
