The lumbar vertebrae refer to the bones between the 14th, 15th, and 16th thoracic vertebrae. If injured by falling or striking, with blood stasis accumulating and condensing, the body must lie prone; attempting to lie supine or on either side is impossible. The pain is unbearable, and the lumbar tendons are stiff. The appropriate manual therapy involves guiding the spinal muscles on both sides inward to attach to the *Suli* muscle (paraspinal muscles). The practitioner stands at a higher position, instructing the patient to raise both hands high, thereby fully relaxing the spinal muscles. Then, instruct the patient to look upward and arch the chest, which realigns the *Suli* muscle and eliminates the injury. Internally administer Bujin Wan (Tendon-Nourishing Pill), externally apply Wanling Gao (Myriad Spirits Plaster), and use Jiuyun Zhitong San (Moxibustion and Heat-Compression Pain-Relieving Powder) for fumigation and washing.
Zhitong San (Pain-Relieving Powder): Relieves pain and reduces swelling, invigorates blood and unblocks collaterals, expels wind and drives away cold.
Ingredients: Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Qi Ai (Artemisiae Argyi Folium), Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex), Heshi (Pyrrosiae Folium), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) (each 1 qian); Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix), Tiexian Tougucao (Centipedae Herba), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra) (each 2 qian); Chuanjiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium) (3 qian); Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (8 fen).
Grind all ingredients into fine powder, place in a white cloth bag, tie tightly, boil in water, and use the steam for fumigation and washing of the affected area.
Bujin Wan (See "Bone Injury" section)
Wanling Gao (See "Vertex Injury" section)
The coccyx, also known as the *Kao* bone, is wide at the top and narrow at the bottom, supporting the various bones of the lumbar spine above. There are four holes on each side, known as the Eight Liao acupoints (Ba Liao). The terminal segment is named Weilu, also called Duan, Jue, Qiong, or colloquially as Weichun. If squatting on a hard object causes local congestion and swelling, it will necessarily involve the waist and hips. Internally administer Zhenggu Zijin Dan (Orthopedic Purple Gold Pill), wash with Haitongpi Tang (Phellodendron Decoction), and externally apply Wanling Gao.

(Above content refers to the Back Bone Diagram)
The scapula is the bone at the shoulder end, specifically the upper ridge of the glenoid cavity of the scapula. Its glenoid fossa accommodates the upper end of the humerus. This junction is named Jianjie (Shoulder Joint), the seam where the shoulder joint and humerus meet, commonly known asunkou, or alternatively as Jiantou. Its lower part attaches to the back, forming a plate-like structure resembling wings, named Jianjia or Jiannao, colloquially known as Banzi Gu (Plate Bone). If these areas are injured by falling, the arm will inevitably bend backward, the joint gap will separate, lifting and forward extension become impossible, and the arm can only twist behind the ribs. At this point, Qi and blood congest in the elbow, causing the elbow to swell like a pestle. The swelling does not extend beyond the wrist, while the tendons of both arms distend. With blood stasis stagnating, if the pain in the swollen area is like needle pricks and fixed in location, the blood will likely transform into pus, leading to coldness in the wrists and palms, or numbness. If the head of the humerus protrudes, push the protruding bone backward into the joint seam, then guide the surrounding tendons inward. This allows the elbow, arm, and wrist to return to their normal positions. Internally administer Bujin Wan, externally apply Wanling Gao, rinse with hot Haitongpi Tang, or apply Baijiaoxiang San (Liquidambar Powder), or smear with Jinfeicao juice, which is also effective.
Bujin Wan: This medicine specifically treats injuries from falls and sprains, tendon inversion and spasms, tendon distension and thickening, tendon aggregation and bone misalignment, blood vessel congestion, and symptoms such as swelling, bruising, purple discoloration, and pain.
