Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, radix removed, 3 qian) Gan Cao (Licorice Root, half raw, half honey-fried) Fu Shen (Poria with Hostwood, bark and woody root removed) Jiang Can (Bombyx Batryticatus, silk threads removed) Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus, processed as previously described, each of the above four herbs 5 qian) Bai Fu Zi (Typhonii Rhizoma) Nan Xing (Arisaema Cum Bile, processed as previously described) Bai Fu Ling (Poria, peel removed) Peng Sha (Borax) Ya Xiao (Natrii Sulfas) Zhu Sha (Cinnabaris, water-triturated, each of the above six herbs 2.5 qian) Quan Xie (Scorpio, tail retained, toxicity removed) She Xiang (Moschus, one zi weight)
Except for Ya Xiao, Peng Sha, She Xiang, and Zhu Sha, the remaining nine herbs are baked and ground into powder. The four excluded herbs are finely ground in a mortar. Mix the baked powder with these four fine powders uniformly. Use a thin paste made from glutinous rice boiled in water as a binder to form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds. While still moist, coat them with Yin Zhu (Vermilion). Each dose consists of 3 to 5 or 7 pills. For acute convulsions, grind the pills in warm tea and administer. For chronic convulsions, dissolve the pills in decoction of Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and Shu Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) and take warm; alternatively, administer with Bo He Tang (Menthae Haplocalycis Decoction) or Mai Men Dong Tang (Ophiopogonis Decoction).

Then mix it thoroughly with the powders of the previous five herbs. Wrap this mixture in cooked Japonica rice (Oryza Sativa Var. Glutinosa) to form a large zongzi shape. Place it in a small clay bottle with water and boil until cooked. Take it out after cooling. Divide the herb powder equally and mix with the liquid, pounding until soft. Form pills the size of millet grains. For treating various accumulations, each dose is 15, 21, or up to 33 pills.
