Treats acute and chronic convulsive disorders (Ji Man Jing Chu), neonatal tetanus with trismus (Qi Feng Cuo Kou), locked jaw, excessive phlegm-saliva accumulation (Tan Xian Yong Sheng), and sore throat with swelling.
*Weilingxian* (Clematis Root, remove the rhizome base, 1.5 liang, finely chopped, roasted, and ground into powder).
Take *Zaojia* (Gleditsia Sinensis Fruit) 3 liang, remove the skin and tough fibers, beat to damage it, soak in one bowl of warm water, filter through silk gauze, simmer over low heat until it resembles a thin paste, add 0.5 liang of pure vinegar, boil three to five times more, remove from fire and let cool. Mix evenly with the aforementioned powder in three equal parts using a mortar and pestle, form pills the size of a Chinese chestnut (*Qianshi*). First, rub the gums with salted plum flesh. Then, take one or two pills of this paste, dilute thickly with warm plain boiled water, and smear into the left upper jaw; the jaw will immediately open. Subsequently, administer other medicines. It is best to use earthenware vessels for decoction, and silver vessels are even better. Additionally, this preparation resolves wind-phlegm obstruction; dissolve in light ginger soup and swallow occasionally in small amounts. For sore throat, take with warm clear tea or mint soup.
Treats watery diarrhea, rickets-related diarrhea (Gan Xie), dysentery with red and white discharge (Xia Li Chi Bai), abdominal pain, restlessness, and thirst.
*Xiangdouzi* (Quercus Infectoria Gall, 1 liang), *Xicha* (Fine Tea), *Baijiang* (White Ginger), *Gancao* (Licorice Root) (these three ingredients, each 2.5 qian), *Baizhi* (Angelica Dahurica, 5 qian).
Chop and roast the above ingredients, grind into powder, and form pills the size of a Chinese chestnut using refined honey. Take two to three pills per dose, dissolve in warm rice water on an empty stomach. Vinegar may be added. Mixing with honey in equal proportion to create a paste yields excellent results; take dissolved in warm liquid.
Treats abdominal distension caused by fright-stagnation, food stagnation, or parasitic stagnation, accompanied by irritability, crying, nausea, reduced appetite, and sallow complexion. These conditions generally require unblocking and promoting drainage. This medicine is suitable only for cases involving stubborn stagnation, severe fright-wind, tight wind-pathogens, excessive phlegm, and extreme heat; it is not a routine daily remedy. After an episode of acute fright-convulsion, if wind-phlegm has not fully cleared, administering this again prevents the development of lingering chronic diseases.
*Nanting* (Arisaema Cum Bile, chop into small pieces, boil briefly in water), *Banxia* (Pinellia Rhizoma, prepared as described above, these two ingredients, each 3 qian), *Huashi* (Talcum, 4 qian), *Qingfen* (Calomel, 50 tie/packets), *Jing Wuyi* (Cleaned Chrysanthemum Seed, 200 pieces), *Badou* (Croton Seed, 50 grains, shelled, whole ones preferred, soaked in hot water seven times, remove heart membrane, cut into two sides, boil briefly, dry, and crush).
Roast the first three ingredients and grind into powder. Apart from *Qingfen*, crush *Wuyi Ren* and *Badou* together finely in a mortar. Add the previous powder and pound uniformly. Form pills the size of hemp seeds using a flour-paste method similar to *Wuxi Wan*. Take 15 to 25 or 35 pills per dose. Soak scallion whites in glutinous rice water to extract the juice; take on an empty stomach at dawn (wugeng time). After three to five bowel movements, administer *Yunqi San* to regulate qi and tonify. To dispel wind-phlegm, take with light ginger soup on an empty stomach.
