Jindu Feng (Kidney Toxin Madness)
The Shaoyin channel is affected by pathogenic factors. Symptoms first appear on the soles of the feet, accompanied by pain in the bone joints. This is often transmitted due to excessive sexual activity. Or, if the disease has already manifested, one fails to abstain from sexual intercourse. This condition is often caused by local customs; women selling themselves spread the "madness," and those who purchase them contract the disease. Transmission occurs due to lustful indulgence without abstinence. According to medical principles, this is considered incurable. However, if one repents and turns to virtue, seeking remedies from books, and prescribes medicine according to symptoms, it may be managed properly.
(Also known as Xue Feng / Blood Madness)
Xuerre Feng (Blood Heat Madness)
Damp-heat combats and intertwines. Blood coagulates and Qi stagnates. The pathogen knots in the skin, forming blisters and sores, and often generating fleshy excrescences. Treat primarily with Xiaoshen Wan (Little Divine Pill) and Babao Dan (Eight Treasures Elixir). This is not Leprosy (Mafen).
Zhendu Feng (Rash Toxin Madness)
Improper management of smallpox/rash diseases leaves residual toxins flowing into the muscles. Alternatively, lying in damp places or bathing in cold water leads to numbness. There is little numbness but many rashes/pustules. Although not severely harmful, it is difficult to eradicate completely. This is not Leprosy (Mafen). One must not mistakenly identify it as Leprosy. Such errors are frequent. Examine the symptoms carefully and treat accordingly.
(Also known as Songzi Feng / Pine Seed Madness, and Zhenzhu Feng / Pearl Madness)
Jia Du Feng (Mass Toxin Madness)
The face appears oily. Rash particles resemble pearls. The body has necrotic flesh. In severe cases, the particles are large and the face is red. Treat with Jili San (Tribulus Powder). For smaller particles, use Xiaoshen Wan (Little Divine Pill). This condition is deceptive. Treat rapidly at the onset. Follow the aforementioned prescriptions as the main treatment.
Ruanjiao Feng (Soft Leg Madness)
Systemic symptoms are few. Damp-heat enters the sinews. The legs become flaccid and difficult to walk. Even after repeated acupuncture, there is no sensation of pain. Treat primarily with Jili San (Tribulus Powder). This is damp-heat entering the sinews, causing leg flaccidity and difficulty walking. Even with acupuncture, there is no pain. It can be treated according to the methods for Wet Bi Syndrome (Shi Bi). Alternatively, refer to the above prescriptions. This is not Leprosy (Mafen).
Poshang Feng (Traumatic Madness)
Falls and injuries allow Wind-Cold, Summer-Heat, and Dampness to lodge between the meridians and joints. Over years, this forms fleshy excrescences. The area may be red or swollen. Treatment methods vary. Observe the symptoms to prescribe medicine, and address the root cause. This is not Leprosy (Mafen). It arises because prolonged neglect of initial treatment led to this condition. Urgently consult the book and deliberate on the methods for treatment.
