Dacchuan mixed with blood blisters is caused by Lung heat; the color may be purple or red, distinguishing the severity of the toxin. Internally administer Liangxue Jiedu Tang (Cooling Blood and Detoxifying Decoction); externally, use needle puncture to drain foul blood.
[Note] When Dacchuan is in the distension stage, small blisters suddenly appear among the pustules, gradually growing to the size of a ginkgo nut. If the toxin is severe, the color is purple; if mild, it is red. All are called blood blisters. This is due to toxic heat in the Lung transmitting to the skin, varying in size. One must internally administer Liangxue Jiedu Tang (Cooling Blood and Detoxifying Decoction) and externally puncture with a silver needle to drain foul blood, ensuring safety. If not treated urgently and allowed to rupture spontaneously, the foul fluid will spread and contaminate surrounding areas, causing the pustules to become red and ulcerated! Practitioners should record this method carefully.
Liangxue Jiedu Tang (See formula in the section on Crusting and Scab Falling).
Water blisters result from excessive dampness overcoming the Spleen meridian; they are dense on the hands and feet but light on the body and face. Internally administer Jiawei Baoyuan Ji (Modified Tonifying Origin Formula); externally apply Huixi Guanfen Ling (Coriander and Official Powder Elixir).
[Note] Water blisters are large in shape with thin skin, containing a sac of clear fluid. This is because damp pathogenic qi invades and overcomes the Spleen meridian; thus, there are few on the body and face, but densely on the hands and feet, as the four limbs belong to the Spleen. One must take Jiawei Baoyuan Tang (Modified Tonifying Origin Decoction), puncture externally with a silver needle, and apply official powder mixed with Huixi wine (Coriander Wine) to the affected area. If treatment is delayed, turning into itching and collapse, it becomes difficult to save.
Jiawei Baoyuan Tang (Modified Tonifying Origin Decoction)
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Zhu Ling (Polyporus), Ze Xie (Alisma Rhizome), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, stir-fried with soil), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix, honey-fried), Chi Fu Ling (Poria with Red Cortex), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, roasted).
Use Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) as a guide, decoct in water and take orally.
[Formula Song] Jiawei Baoyuan's effect is most swift, Ren Shen and Zhu Ling together with Ze Xie, Bai Zhu and Huang Qi with Chi Fu Ling, Gan Cao and Sheng Jiang listed together.
Huixi Jiu (Coriander Wine)
Huixi (Coriandri Fructus, chopped, 4 liang), Huang Jiu (Yellow Rice Wine, 0.5 jin).
Decoct together, do not let the qi escape, wait until warm, mix with Guan Fen (Official Powder), and apply to broken areas.
Sores have not yet distended, but flesh is swollen and floating; the skin is smooth and color bright, most worrying. If red and bright, treat with Qianghuo Jiuku Tang (Notopterygium Rescue from Distress Decoction); if pale red, seek great tonification with Shengui Dabu Tang (Ginseng and Angelica Great Tonifying Decoction). If the whole body is entirely red, the toxic heat is blazing; quickly administer Guizong Tang (Guizong Decoction) early.
[Note] When Dacchuan is in the distension stage, from head to body, it gradually rises along with the pustules; this is Qi leading and Blood carrying, with the toxin emerging outward. If the flesh of the head and body swells first, with bright red skin but the pustules themselves do not swell, this indicates excess pathogenic toxin not controlled by righteous Qi; use Qianghuo Jiuku Tang (Notopterygium Rescue from Distress Decoction). If the skin color is pale red, it indicates deficiency of Qi and Blood, unable to restrain the toxin; treat with Shengui Dabu Tang (Ginseng and Angelica Great Tonifying Decoction). Furthermore, if the entire body's skin is completely red, this indicates blazing toxic fire scorching the Blood level; use Guizong Tang (Guizong Decoction).
