Nanmuxiang (Costi Rhizoma, 1 liang 5 qian, remove rhizome base) Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos, 1 liang 5 qian) Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum, 1 liang, processed) Roudoukou (Myristicae Semen, 20 grains, peel, crush, remove oil) Baicaoshuang (Siccus Carbonis Herbae, 2 liang, grind into fine powder) Badou (Crotonis Fructus, 70 grains, remove heart, remove oil) Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, 40 grains, remove skin and tip, grind into paste)

Divide into four doses. For each dose, add 10 slices of fresh ginger. Decoct and take warm. If cold administration is desired, wait until it cools before taking. Time is not restricted.
In zhang disease, symptoms of phlegm rebellion, vomiting, and spontaneous diarrhea indicate that Spleen Earth lacks Yang Qi, constituting a deficiency-cold syndrome. Excessive sweating indicates Yang Qi leaking outward. Irritability, thirst with desire to drink, and red urine are caused by Yang Qi floating upward, leading to scorching and drying of the Heart and Lung. Headache and heart pain indicate severe external deficiency-cold. This formula uses the pungent and hot nature of Fuzi (Aconite) to warm the Spleen and consolidate leaking Yang Qi. Assisted by Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger), it disperses external cold. When taken cold, it guides the heat of the Heart and Lung downward, eliminating old cold in the Lower Jiao. Using heat to attack heat, it is an excellent prescription for treating severe zhang disease. The general principle refers to the discussion on Fuzi.
