Cicada Slough (Chantui), Snake Slough (Shetui, processed by roasting), Equisetum Hiemale Herba (Muzecao), Tribulus Terrestris Fructus (Jili), Angelica Sinensis Radix (Danggui) (each 2 liang), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Xiong), Chrysanthemi Flos (Bai Juhua), Lycii Cortex Radicis (Digupi), Schizonepetae Herba (Jingjie Sui), Zanthoxyli Pericarpium (Huajiao) (each 1 liang), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Buddlejae Flos (Mimenghua), Viticis Fructus (Manjingzi), Broussonetiae Fructus (Chushizi), Persicae Semen (Taoren), Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Bohe), Puerariae Radix (Huafen) (each 5 qian).
The condition of "Mimeng Bu San" (Cloudy Vision not dispersing) is caused by deficiency of Yang and excess of Yin, with damp-heat and wind pathogens steaming and steaming. Therefore, Jingjie Sui (Schizonepetae Herba), Manjingzi (Viticis Fructus), and Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) are used to raise Yang and disperse wind; Chushizi (Broussonetiae Fructus), Huajiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium), and Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) are used to benefit Qi and promote diuresis to remove dampness. When Yang is weak, blood circulation is also affected; Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Radix), Muzecao (Equisetum Hiemale Herba), and Xiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma) harmonize and calm the blood. Excess Yin can constrain heat; Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Digupi (Lycii Cortex Radicis), and Huafen (Puerariae Radix) clear heat and drain fire. Chantui (Cicada Slough), Shetui (Snake Slough), Mimenghua (Buddlejae Flos), Jili (Tribulus Terrestris Fructus), and Bai Juhua (Chrysanthemi Flos) are specifically indicated in the *Shennong Bencao Jing* for eye diseases, as they are taken for their ability to brighten the eyes, remove nebulae, reduce redness, stop tearing, and dispel cloudiness to restore clear vision. Who else could be relied upon besides these? This formula is the primary treatment for all eye conditions caused by wind barriers and external heat.
Poem: In Tuiyun Wan, Cicada Slough and Snake Slough take precedence, followed by Muzecao, Xiong, and Danggui, then Bai Juhua; Digupi and Qinjiao (Huajiao) are best, Manjingzi and Chushizi are excellent; Huanglian and Gancao are used together with bitter and sweet properties; Mimenghua and Jingjie Sui are collected together to regulate righteous and pathogenic factors; adding Jili, Su Bo Ye (Perilla Leaf/Mint Leaf), Bohe Ye, and Huafen reveals the miraculous effect like an immortal child.
Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Baifuzi (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix, processed with Ginger Juice), Qinjiao (Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix), Dan Nanning (Arisaema cum Bile), Bai Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, washed to remove toxicity, soaked in Ginger Juice), Mugua (Chaenomelis Fructus), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, stir-fried with wine), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Ginger Juice, Good Wine (each one cup, mixed and taken orally).
Traction of sinews and twitching of muscles indicate pathology in Wood (Liver) and Earth (Spleen). Wood governs sinews, and Earth governs flesh. If Wood fails to uphold its virtue, Wind overcomes Dampness; if Earth resists, it is consumed by Dampness. Persistent Wind-Dampness leads to the gradual formation of Phlegm-Fire, causing both Wood and Earth to be constrained, resulting in deviation of the mouth and eyes, which elicits laughter upon sight. First, Nanning (Arisaema cum Bile), Baifuzi (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix), and Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus) are used to resolve Phlegm; then, Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) and Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix) dispel Wind; Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) and Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) clear Heat; finally, Qinjiao (Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix) and Mugua (Chaenomelis Fructus) relax the sinews, Ginger Juice scatters Wind pathogens, and Wine promotes the action of the herbs. After taking a few doses, symptoms gradually subside, followed by taking 1-2 liang of Qingzhou Baiwan (Qingzhou White Pills), restoring dignified appearance as before, hence the name "Zhengrong Tang" (Correcting Appearance Decoction).
Poem: Qinjiao, Gancao, and Baifuzi; after Ginger Juice, Huanglian, and Wine intoxication, the Silkworm Moth dies; Nanxing and Banxia generate morning wind; Mugua, Qianghuo, and others are blocked by Yi Fang.
