When sores and ulcers erupt on the head, measure the circumference around the ear tips with a stalk of millet (starting from the upper end of the left ear tip, rotating rightward, passing through the right ear tip back to the starting point). Align this length of stalk below the Adam's apple down to where it hangs vertically at the back of the neck. Hold both ends of the stalk horizontally with the affected person's hand and break it off (aligning the center of the stalk with the area below the Adam's apple, with both ends meeting and hanging vertically at the back of the neck, similar to the "one-finger" method in *The Needle Classic*). Mark the point on the spinous process of the spine where the broken stalk falls. If the sore is on the left, moxa half an inch lateral to the midline on the left; if on the right, moxa on the right; if on both sides, moxa on both sides simultaneously.
When sores and ulcers erupt on the hands, measure from the highest bony prominence of the shoulder (i.e., Jianyu [LI15]) to the tip of the nail on the third finger, then break the measuring stalk. Align this length below the Adam's apple down to where it hangs vertically at the back of the neck, following the same method as for the head.
(The region from below Dazhui [GV14] to the tip of Jiwei [CV15] constitutes the back region; from below Tiantu [CV22] to the pubic hairline constitutes the abdominal region; the axillae also belong to the abdominal category. When sores and ulcers erupt on the abdomen, measure the circumference around the nipples (starting from the upper end of the left nipple, rotating rightward around the body, passing through the right nipple back to the starting point). Align this length below the Adam's apple down to where it hangs vertically at the back of the neck, following the same method as for the head.)
When sores and ulcers erupt on the feet, stand with both feet together and touching. Measure the circumference from the tip of the left great toe to the tip of the right great toe (rotating rightward from the medial side of the left foot, passing through the heels of both feet, returning to the starting point from the tip of the right toes). Align this length below the Adam's apple down to where it hangs vertically at the back of the neck. Moxa eight acupoints: moxa painful points until pain ceases, and non-painful points until sensation arises. Alternatively, apply 500 moxa cones, or 700-800 cones. Using large moxa cones and applying more moxibustion is particularly beneficial. If moxibustion is applied when carbuncles and malignant sores first begin, they will not suppurate but heal spontaneously; if applied after suppuration has occurred, it promotes tissue regeneration and relieves pain, preventing recurrence.

No, Xian Gu is two cun posterior to Ting Gong? Correction: Xian Gu [ST43] is two cun posterior to the metatarsophalangeal joint? The text says "Xian Gu Ting Hou Er Cun Ju", meaning Xian Gu is two cun behind Ting Gong? Actually, standard texts say Xian Gu is 2 cun distal to Chongyang. Let's stick to literal translation: "Chong Yang and Xian Gu are two cun up; Xian Gu is lifted two cun behind Ting?" This part of the original text seems garbled or uses specific local measurements. Literal: "Chong Yang and Xian Gu are two cun above; Xian Gu is lifted two cun behind Ting." Neiting [ST44] is sought between the outer aspects of the second toe. Li Dui [ST45] resembles a leek leaf on the second toe.
The Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian belongs to the Spleen. Yin Bai [SP1] is suitable at the inner angle of the great toe. Da Du [SP2] is at the white flesh margin behind the joint. Yang Gu [SI5] is obtained in the wrist below the Jing bone. Xiao Hai [SI8] is five fen from the end of the elbow. Ting Gong [SI19] is on the side of the ear tragus like a bean.
Where to look at the Taiyang Bladder Meridian? Jing Ming [BL1] is at the inner canthus of the eye. Zan Zhu [BL1] is in the depression between the two eyebrows. Luo Que [BL16] is four and a half cun behind the hairline. Fei Shu [BL13] is at the third thoracic vertebra; Ge Shu [BL17] at the seventh; Gan Shu [BL18] is pressed below the ninth thoracic vertebra. Shen Shu [BL23] is beside the fourteenth lumbar vertebra. Gao Huang [BL43] is equally spaced three fen between the fourth and fifth thoracic vertebrae. Wei Zhong [BL40] is in the popliteal crease. Cheng Shan [BL57] is where the muscle belly breaks below the calf. Kun Lun [BL60] is five fen below the posterior malleolus. Jin Men [BL63] is selected in the depression below the malleolus. Shen Mai [BL62] is between the bone and tendon below the malleolus; be careful not to disturb the space that can accommodate a fingernail.
Where to seek the Shaoyin Kidney Meridian? Ran Gu [KI2] is identified below the bone anterior to the malleolus. Tai Xi [KI3] is five fen behind the medial malleolus. Zhao Hai [KI6] is four fen below the malleolus. Fu Liu [KI7] is two cun above the medial malleolus, directly posterior to Tai Xi by five fen.
The Hand-Jueyin Pericardium Meridian: Qu Ze [PC3] is formed by the transverse crease inside the elbow. Jian Shi [PC5] is sought three cun behind the palm. Nei Guan [PC6] begins at two cun without error. Da Ling [PC7] is between the two tendons behind the palm. Zhong Chong [PC9] changes at the tip of the middle finger.
Regarding the Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian: Ye Men [TE2] is named between the ring and little fingers. Zhong Zhu [TE3] is behind the proximal interphalangeal joint of the ring finger. Yang Chi [TE4] exists in the superficial wrist. Wai Guan [TE5] connects two cun behind the wrist. Zhi Gou [TE6] is heard three cun behind the wrist. Tian Jing [TE10] is about one cun above the elbow. Jiao Sun [TE20] divides at the opening of the auricle. Si Zhu Kong [TE23] is pressed in the depression behind the eyebrow. Er Men [TE21] and Er Que [TE22] are not empty words.
For the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian, take Ting Hui [GB2] at the depression in front of the ear, palpated clearly. Lin Qi [GB15] is located there, five fen into the hairline above the eye. Mu Chuang [GB16] exists one cun above Lin Qi. Feng Chi [GB20] is discussed in the middle of the posterior hairline. Jian Jing [GB21] is seen one and a half cun in front of the bone.
