The Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian begins at Zhongfu (LU-1) and ends at Qimen (LR-14), the final acupoint of the Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian. Generally speaking, the Lung Pulse originates in the chest, emerges to travel under the axilla, and terminates at Shaoshang (LU-11); its collateral network connects with the index finger and receives the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian. The Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian starts at Shangyang (LI-1) and terminates at Yingxiang (LI-18) outside the nose. The Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian passes through Chengqi (ST-1) and descends to Lidui (ST-45) on the foot. The Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian originates at Yinbai (SP-1) on the foot and ascends to Dabao (SP-21) in the axilla. The Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian issues from Jiquan (HT-1) and pours into Shaochong (HT-9) on the little finger. The Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian starts at Shaoze (SI-1), travels up behind the shoulder, and connects with Tinggong (SI-19). The Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian starts at Jingming (BL-1) and terminates at Zhiyin (BL-67) on the outer side of the foot. The Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian emanates from Yongquan (KI-1) and communicates with Shufu (KI-27) in the anterior chest. The Hand-Jueyin Pericardium Meridian originates at Tianchi (PC-1) behind the breast and connects with Zhongchong (PC-9) on the middle finger. The Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao (Triple Burner) Meridian begins on the lateral side of the ring finger, traveling from Guanchong (SJ-1) to Sizhukong (SJ-23). The Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian connects Tongziliao (GB-1) to Zuqiaoyin (GB-44) on the fourth toe. The Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian ascends from Dadun (LR-1) to Qimen (LR-14), then returns to the Taiyin Meridian to conclude.
The Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian has eleven acupoints: Zhongfu (LU-1), Yunmen (LU-2), Tianfu (LU-3), Xiabai (LU-4), Chize (LU-5), Kongzui (LU-6), Lieque (LU-7), Jingqu (LU-8), Taiyuan (LU-9), Yuji (LU-10), and Shaoshang (LU-11) which extends straight to the medial end of the thumb, resembling the shape of a leek leaf.
Zhongfu (LU-1): Located beside Huagai (CV-20) on the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel) midline, horizontally six cun outward, in the depression above the third rib near the nipple where the artery is palpable. Take the point while lying supine; moxibustion consists of three or five moxa cones.
Yunmen (LU-2): Located below Jugu (LI-1) of the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian, two cun lateral to Qihu (ST-15), six cun from the midline, in the depression where the artery is palpable. Raise the arm to locate the point; moxibustion consists of five moxa cones. *Qianjin Fang* records fifty moxa cones.
Tianfu (LU-3): Descending three cun from Yunmen along the inner aspect of the axilla, in the arterial depression. Locate using the pulse point marked by the tip of the nose. This point is contraindicated for moxibustion; applying it may cause rebellious Qi.
Xiabai (LU-4): Descending five cun from Tianfu to the arterial point at the elbow crease; moxibustion consists of five moxa cones.
Chize (LU-5): Descending from Xiabai to the upper part of the elbow crease, in the depression between the tendons and bones when the elbow is flexed, where the artery is palpable. Moxibustion consists of three or five moxa cones. Zhen Quan stated that the depression between the tendons and bones in the crease during arm flexion and extension is not suitable for moxibustion.
Kongzui (LU-6): Descending seven cun from Chize to the anterior wrist crease, in the depression between the upper and lower bones; moxibustion consists of five moxa cones.
Lieque (LU-7): Tracing laterally from Kongzui, one cun and five fen above the posterior wrist crease. Cross both hands; locate in the depression between the bone and tendon at the distal end of the index finger. From the wrist, it diverges to the Yangming Meridian and exits directly at the medial end of the index finger. Moxibustion consists of three moxa cones.
Jingqu (LU-8): Tracing from Lieque to the depression at Cun Kou (Radial Pulse); moxibustion is contraindicated. Applying moxibustion here damages the Shen (Spirit).
Taiyuan (LU-9): Tracing inward from Jingqu to the depression behind the palm. At dawn during the Yin hour, the pulse qi begins here; thus, *Nan Jing* states: "Cun Kou is the great assembly of the pulses." Moxibustion consists of three moxa cones.
Yuji (LU-10): Ascending from Taiyuan to the medial depression behind the metacarpophalangeal joint of the thumb in the Thenar eminence, among the dispersed vessels at the junction of white flesh; moxibustion consists of three moxa cones.
Shaoshang (LU-11): Tracing from Yuji to the medial end of the thumb, approximately the width of a leek leaf away from the corner of the nail, in the depression at the junction of white flesh. Moxibustion is generally not recommended. *Jia Yi Jing* records one moxa cone.
