帝曰∶天地之气，内淫而病何如？（淫，邪胜也，不务其德，是谓之淫。内淫者。自外而入，气淫于内，言在泉之
变病也。）岐伯曰∶岁厥阴在泉，风淫所胜，则地气不明，平野昧，草乃早秀；（厥阴在泉，寅申岁也。风淫于地，则木
胜土，风胜湿，尘埃飞扬，故地气不明，平野昏昧。木气有余，故草乃早秀。）民病洒洒振寒，善呻数欠，心痛支满，两
胁里急，饮食不下，膈咽不通，食则呕，腹胀善噫。得后与气则快然如衰，身体皆重。（按《经脉篇》自洒洒振寒至数欠，
为阳明胃病；自食则呕至身体皆重，为太阴脾病。且厥阴肝脉贯膈布胁肋，故又为心痛支满等证，皆木邪淫胜，脾胃受
伤之为病。）
岁少阴在泉，热淫所胜，则焰浮川泽，阴处反明，蛰虫不藏；（少阴在泉，卯酉岁也。君火淫胜于下，故焰浮川泽，
阴处反明，蛰虫不藏，）民病腹中常鸣，气上冲胸，喘不能久立，寒热皮肤痛，目瞑齿痛 肿，恶寒发热如疟，少腹中痛
腹大。（腹中常鸣者，火气奔动也。气上冲胸者，火性炎上也。喘不能久立、寒热皮肤痛者，火邪乘肺也。目瞑者，热甚
阴虚，畏阳光也。齿动 肿，热乘阳明经也。恶寒发热如疟，金水受伤，阴阳争胜也。热在下焦，故少腹中痛。热在中
焦，故腹大。 音拙。）
岁太阴在泉，草乃早荣，湿淫所胜，则埃昏岩谷，黄反见黑，至阴之交；（太阴在泉，辰戌岁也。土为草木之所资生，
故草乃早荣。岩谷者，土浓之处，故埃昏岩谷。黄，土色。黑，水色。土胜湿淫，故黄反见黑。《五常政大论》曰∶太阴
司天，湿气下临，肾气上从，黑起水变。即土临水应之义。至阴之交，当三气四气之间，土之令也。）民病饮积心痛，耳
聋浑浑 ，嗌肿喉痹，阴病血见，少腹痛肿，不得小便，病冲头痛，目似脱，项似拔，腰似折，髀不可以曲， 如结，
如别。（饮积心痛，寒湿乘心也。自耳聋至喉痹 ，按《经脉篇》为三焦经病。自阴病至不得小便，以邪湿下流，为阴
虚肾病。自冲头痛至 如别，按《经脉篇》为膀胱经病。此以土邪淫胜克水，而肾合三焦膀胱，俱为水脏，故病及焉。

岁少阳在泉，火淫所胜，则焰明郊野，寒热更至；（少阳在泉，巳亥岁也。相火淫胜于下，故焰明郊野。热极生寒，
故寒热更至。）民病注泄赤白，少腹痛溺赤，甚则血便，少阴同候。（热伤血分则注赤，热伤气分则注白。热在下焦，故
少腹痛溺赤血便。其余诸病，皆与前少阴在泉同候。）
岁阳明在泉，燥淫所胜，则 雾清暝；（阳明在泉，子午岁也。金气淫胜于下，故 暗如雾，清冷晦暝也。）民病喜
呕，呕有苦，善太息，心胁痛不能反侧，甚则嗌干面尘，身无膏泽，足外反热。（按《经脉篇》，以口苦善太息、心胁痛
不能转侧、甚则面微有尘、体无膏泽、足外反热，为足少阳胆经病。嗌干面尘，为厥阴肝经病。此以金邪淫胜，故肝胆
受伤，而为病如此。）
岁太阳在泉，寒淫所胜，则凝肃惨栗；（太阳在泉，丑未岁也。水气淫 胜于下，故凝肃惨栗。）民病少腹控睾，引腰
脊，上冲心痛，血见，嗌痛颔肿。（寒淫于下，自伤其类，则膀胱与肾受之。膀胱居腹，故少腹痛。肾主阴丸，故控睾。
太阳之脉，挟脊抵腰中，故引腰脊。肾脉络心，故上冲心痛。心主血属而寒逼之，故血见。按《经脉篇》以嗌痛颔肿为
小肠经病，亦水邪侮火而然。睾音高。颔，何敢切。）
帝曰∶善。治之奈何？（此下言在泉淫胜之治。）岐伯曰∶诸气在泉∶风淫于内，治以辛凉，佐以苦甘，以甘缓之，
以辛散之；（风为木气，金能胜之，故治以辛凉。过于辛，恐反伤其气，故佐以苦甘，苦胜辛，甘益气也。木性急，故以
甘缓之。风邪胜，故以辛散之。《藏气法时论》曰∶肝苦急，急食甘以缓之。肝欲散，急食辛以散之。此之谓也。）热淫
于内，治以咸寒，佐以甘苦，以酸收之，以苦发之；（热为火气，水能胜之，故宜治以咸寒。佐以甘苦，甘胜咸，所以防
咸之过也；苦能泄，所以去热之实也。热盛于经而不敛者，以酸收之。热郁于内而不解者，以苦发之。）湿淫于内，治以
苦热，佐以酸淡，以苦燥之，以淡泄之；（湿为土气，燥能除之，故治以苦热。酸从木化，制土者也，故佐以酸淡。以苦
燥之者，苦从火化也。以淡泄之者，淡能利窍也，《藏气法时论》曰∶脾苦湿，急食苦以燥之。即此之谓。）火淫于内，
治以咸冷；佐以苦辛，以酸收之，以苦发之；（相火，畏火也，故宜治以咸冷。苦能泄火，辛能散火，故用以为佐。以酸
收之，以苦发之，义与上文热淫治同。）燥淫于内，治以苦温，佐以甘辛，以苦下之；（燥为金气，火能胜之，治以苦温，
苦从火化也。佐以甘辛，木受金伤，以甘缓之；金之正味，以辛泻之也。燥结不通，则邪实于内，故当以苦下之。按下
文燥淫所胜，佐以酸辛，与此甘辛稍异。又如《六元正纪大论》子午年阳明在泉，亦云下酸温，皆与此不同。考之《藏
气法时论》曰∶肺苦气上逆，急食苦以泄之。用酸补之，辛泻之。正此之辨。）寒淫于内，治以甘热，佐以苦辛，以咸泻
之，以辛润之，以苦坚之。（寒为水气，土能胜水，热能胜寒，故治以甘热，甘从土化，热从火化也，佐以苦辛等义，如
《藏气法时论》曰∶肾苦燥，急食辛以润之。肾欲坚，急食苦以坚之，用苦补之，咸泻之也。）
帝曰∶善。天气之变何如？（此下言司天淫胜之变病。）岐伯曰∶厥阴司天，风淫所胜，则太虚埃昏，云物以扰，寒
生春气，流水不冰，蛰虫不出；（巳亥岁也。风淫于上，故太虚埃昏，云物扰乱。风木主温，故寒生春气而流水不冰。然
风胜则金令承之，清肃气行，故蛰虫不出也。）民病胃脘当心而痛，上支两胁，膈咽不通，饮食不下，舌本强，食则呕，
冷泄腹胀，溏泄瘕水闭，病本于脾，（胃脘当心而痛等证，病皆在脾。按《经脉篇》以舌本强、食则呕、胃脘痛、腹胀食
不下、溏泄瘕水闭，为足太阴脾病。此以木邪乘土，故诸病皆本于脾也。）冲阳绝，死不治。（冲阳，足阳明胃脉也，在
足跗上动脉应手。土不胜木，则脾胃气竭而冲阳绝，故死不治。）
少阴司天，热淫所胜，怫热至，火行其政，大雨且至；（子午岁也。热淫于上，故火行其政。君火之下，阴精承之，
故大雨且至。怫音佛，郁也。）民病胸中烦热，嗌干，右 满，皮肤痛，寒热咳喘，唾血血泄，鼽衄嚏呕，溺色变，甚则
疮疡 肿，肩背臂 及缺盆中痛，心痛肺 腹大满膨膨而喘咳，病本于肺，（胸中烦热嗌干等证，皆君火上炎，肺金受伤
也，金气主右，故右 满。按《经脉篇》以溺色变，肩背臂 及缺盆中痛、肺胀满膨膨而喘咳，为手太阴肺病。鼽衄、
肩前 痛，为手阳明大肠病。盖肺与大肠为表里，金被火伤，故诸病皆本于肺也。膨音彭。）尺泽绝，死不治。（尺泽，
手太阴肺脉也，在肘内廉大文中，动脉应手。金不胜火，则肺气竭而尺泽绝，故死不治。）
太阴司天，湿淫所胜，则沉阴旦布，雨变枯槁；丑未岁也。（湿淫于上，故沉阴旦布。沉，深也。沉阴雨变，则浸渍
为伤，故物多枯槁。） 肿骨痛阴痹 。阴痹者按之不得，腰脊头项痛，时眩，大便难，阴气不用，饥不欲食，咳唾则有
血，心如悬，病本于肾，（ 肿骨痛等证，皆肾经病也。按《经脉篇》以腰脊头项痛，为足太阳膀胱病，以饥不欲食、咳
唾则有血、心如悬，为足少阴肾病。此以肾与膀胱为表里，水为土克，故诸病皆本于肾也。《五邪篇》阴痹，与此略同，
详针刺类二十五。）太溪绝，死不治。（太溪，足少阴肾脉也，在足内踝后跟上动脉应手。水不胜土，则肾气竭而太溪绝，
故死不治。）
少阳司天，火淫所胜，则温气流行，金政不平；（寅申岁也。相火淫胜于上，则金受其制，故温气流行，金政不平。）
民病头痛，发热恶寒而疟，热上皮肤痛，色变黄赤，传而为水，身面 肿，腹满仰息，泄注赤白，疮疡咳唾血， 烦心胸
中热，甚则鼽衄，病本于肺，（相火用事，金气受邪，客热内燔，水不能制，故为此诸病，皆本于肺也。）天府绝，死不
治。（天府，手太阴肺脉也，在臂 内廉，腋下三寸动脉应手。金不胜火，则肺气竭而天府绝，故死不治。）
阳明司天，燥淫所胜，则木乃晚荣，草乃晚生，筋骨内变，大凉革候，名木敛生菀于下，草焦上首，蛰虫来见；（卯
酉岁也。燥金淫胜于上，则木受其克，故草木生荣俱晚。其在于人，则肝血受伤，不能营养筋骨，故生内变。且金气大
凉，能革发生之候，故草木之应如此。然阳明金气在上，则少阴火气在下，故蛰虫来见也。大凉革候以下四句，旧在下
文感而疟之后，今改移于此。）民病左 胁痛，寒清于中，感而疟，咳，腹中鸣，注泄 溏，心胁暴痛，不可反侧，嗌干
面尘腰痛，丈夫 疝，妇人少腹痛，目 疡，疮痤痈，病本于肝，（左 胁痛等证，皆肝经病，肝木主左也。按《经脉
篇》以心胁痛不能转侧、面微有尘，为足少阳胆病；腰痛不可俯仰、丈夫 疝、妇人少腹痛、嗌干面尘飧泄，为足厥阴
肝病。此以肝与胆为表里，木被金伤，故诸病皆本于肝也。 ，木、务二音。 音颓。痤，才何切。）太冲绝，死不治。
（太冲，足厥阴肝脉也，在足大趾本节后二寸，动脉应手。木不胜金，则肝气竭而太冲绝，故死不治。）
太阳司天，寒淫所胜，则寒气反至，水且冰，运火炎烈，雨暴乃雹；（辰戌岁也，寒淫于上，故寒反至，水且冰。若
乘火运而火气炎烈，则水火相激，故雨暴乃雹。此下二节，旧文似有颠倒。今稍为移正之。）民病血变于中，发为痈疡，
厥心痛，呕血血泄鼽衄，善悲时眩仆，胸腹满，手热肘挛掖肿，心澹澹大动，胸胁胃脘不安，面赤目黄，善噫嗌干，甚
则色 ，渴而欲饮，病本于心。（寒水胜则邪乘心，故为血变于中、发为痈疡等证。按《经脉篇》以手心热、臂肘挛急、
腋肿、胸胁支满、心中澹澹大动、面赤目黄，为手厥阴心包络病。盖火受寒伤，故诸病皆本于心也，澹，淡同。 音台，
焦黑色也。）神门绝，死不治。（神门，手少阴心脉也，在手掌后锐骨之端，动脉应手。火不胜水，则心气竭而神门绝，
故死不治。）所谓动气，知其藏也。（动气者，气至脉动也。察动脉之有无，则脏气之存亡可知矣。此总结六气之变病也。）
帝曰∶善。治之奈何？（此下言司天淫胜之治。）岐伯曰∶司天之气∶风淫所胜，平以辛凉，佐以甘苦，以甘缓之，
以酸泻之；（风淫于上，平以辛凉，佐以苦甘，以甘缓之，俱与上文在泉治同。以酸泻之者，木之正味，其泻以酸也。义
见后。）热淫所胜，平以咸寒，佐以苦甘，以酸收之；（此与上文在泉治同，但缺以苦发之一句，而下文火淫所胜复言之，
则义与此节同也。）湿淫所胜，平以苦热，佐以酸辛，以苦燥之，以淡泄之；（诸与上文在泉治同，惟佐以酸辛，与彼酸
淡少异，盖辛胜酸，所以防酸之过也，故当用以为佐。）湿上甚而热，治以苦温，佐以甘辛，以汗为故而止；（湿上甚而
热者，湿郁于上而成热也，治以苦温，欲其燥也。佐以甘辛，欲其散也。以燥以散，则湿热之在上者，以汗之故而止矣。）
火淫所胜，平以咸冷，佐以甘苦，以酸收之，以苦发之，以酸复之，热淫同；（此与在泉热淫治同。盖水能胜火，故平以
咸冷。苦能泻火之实，甘能缓火之急，故佐以苦甘，火盛而散越者，以酸收之。火郁而伏留者，以苦发之。然以发去火，
未免伤气，故又当以酸复之，而火热二气同治也。）燥淫所胜，平以苦湿，佐以酸辛，以苦下之；（此与上文燥淫于内治
同，但彼云佐以甘辛，此云酸辛为异，详注见前燥淫条下，苦湿误也，当作苦温。）寒淫所胜，平以辛热，佐以苦甘，以
咸泻之。（辛热足以散寒，苦甘可以胜水。以咸泻之，水之正味，其泻以咸也。此与在泉治同，而文有颠倒，详见前寒淫
于内条下。）

黄帝问道：天地之气侵入人体内部而导致疾病，情况是怎样的？（淫，指邪气过盛。不遵循其正常德性，就称为淫。内淫，是指病邪从外部进入，气机在体内泛滥，这里讲的是在泉之气的变化所导致的病变。）岐伯回答说：如果厥阴风木在泉，风气淫胜，那么地气就会昏暗不明，原野变得昏昧，草木会提前抽穗开花；（厥阴在泉，对应寅年和申年。风气在地面之上淫胜，则木气克制土气，风胜湿，导致尘埃飞扬，所以地气昏暗，原野昏昧。木气有余，所以草木提前秀发。）民众容易患洒洒恶寒、经常呻吟、频繁打哈欠、心痛、肢体胀满、两胁拘急、饮食不下、膈部和咽喉不通畅、进食后呕吐、腹胀且喜欢嗳气等症状。大便通畅或排气后，症状会感到轻松减轻，但身体依然沉重。（按《经脉篇》所述，从洒洒恶寒到频繁打哈欠，属于阳明胃经的病证；从进食后呕吐到身体沉重，属于太阴脾经的病证。而且厥阴肝经贯穿膈部并分布于胁肋，所以又有心痛、肢体胀满等证候，这些都是木邪淫胜，损伤脾胃所致。）
如果是少阴君火在泉，热气淫胜，那么水泽表面仿佛有火焰浮动，阴暗处反而明亮，冬眠的虫子不会藏伏；（少阴在泉，对应卯年和酉年。君火在下位淫胜，所以水泽表面如火焰浮动，阴暗处反亮，冬眠虫类不藏。）民众容易患腹中常鸣响、气向上冲撞胸部、气喘不能久立、寒热交替、皮肤疼痛、眼睛闭合、牙齿疼痛肿胀、恶寒发热像疟疾一样、小腹部疼痛、腹部胀大等症状。（腹中常鸣，是火气奔动所致。气上冲胸，是火性炎上的表现。气喘不能久立、寒热皮肤痛，是火邪乘袭肺脏。眼睛闭合，是因为热盛阴虚，畏惧阳光。牙齿松动肿胀，是热邪侵袭阳明经。恶寒发热如疟，是金水和受伤，阴阳争胜。热在下焦，所以小腹痛。热在中焦，所以腹部胀大。 音拙。）
如果是太阴湿土在泉，湿气淫胜，那么岩石山谷间雾气昏暗，黄色中反而显现黑色，这是至阴之气相交的时候；（太阴在泉，对应辰年和戌年。土是草木赖以生存的基础，所以草木早荣。岩谷是土气浓重的地方，所以雾气昏暗。黄是土色，黑是水色。土胜湿淫，所以黄中见黑。《五常政大论》说：太阴司天，湿气下临，肾气上从，黑色兴起如水变。即土临水应的含义。至阴之交，指在三之气和四之气之间，是土的当令之时。）民众容易患饮停积聚、心痛、耳聋、声音浑浊、咽喉肿痛、喉痹、下部出血、小腹痛肿、小便不通、病气上冲头痛、眼睛像要脱出、颈部像被拔起、腰部像折断、大腿不能弯曲、膝胫部像结住、髋部像分离等症状。（饮积心痛，是寒湿乘袭心脏。从耳聋到喉痹，按《经脉篇》属于三焦经病。从下部出血到小便不通，因邪湿下流，属于阴虚肾病。从冲头痛到如别，按《经脉篇》属于膀胱经病。这是因为土邪淫胜克制水，而肾合三焦膀胱，均为水脏，所以病变波及这些脏腑。 ，吞、屯二音。嗌音益。 音国。 音篆。）
如果是少阳相火在泉，火气淫胜，那么郊野火光通明，寒热交替出现；（少阳在泉，对应巳年和亥年。相火在下位淫胜，所以郊野火光通明。热极生寒，所以寒热交替。）民众容易患赤白痢疾、小腹痛、尿赤，严重则便血，脉象与少阴在泉时相同。（热伤血分则下利赤色，热伤气分则下利白色。热在下焦，所以小腹痛、尿赤、便血。其余各种病症，都与前文少阴在泉时的证候相同。）
如果是阳明燥金在泉，燥气淫胜，那么雾气清冷昏暗；（阳明在泉，对应子年和午年。金气在下位淫胜，所以昏暗如雾，清冷晦暗。）民众容易患喜欢呕吐，呕吐物有苦味，喜欢长叹气，心胁疼痛不能翻身侧卧，严重则咽喉干燥、面色如蒙尘、身体无光泽、足外侧反热。（按《经脉篇》，口苦、喜欢长叹气、心胁疼痛不能转侧、严重时面部微有尘土、身体无光泽、足外侧反热，属于足少阳胆经病。咽喉干燥、面色如蒙尘，属于厥阴肝经病。这是因为金邪淫胜，所以肝胆受伤，从而产生上述病症。）
如果是太阳寒水在泉，寒气淫胜，那么气候凝结肃杀、凄惨凛冽；（太阳在泉，对应丑年和未年。水气在下位淫胜，所以气候凝结肃杀、凄惨凛冽。）民众容易患小腹牵引睾丸疼痛，牵连腰脊，向上冲击心痛，出血，咽喉痛、下巴肿胀。（寒邪在下，自伤同类，则膀胱与肾脏受病。膀胱位于腹部，所以小腹痛。肾主阴器，所以牵引睾丸。太阳经脉夹脊抵腰中，所以牵连腰脊。肾脉络心，所以上冲心痛。心主血脉而寒邪逼迫它，所以出血。按《经脉篇》，咽喉痛、下巴肿胀属于小肠经病，这也是水邪侮火所致。睾音高。颔，何敢切。）
黄帝道：好。如何治疗呢？（下文讲述在泉之气淫胜的治疗方法。）岐伯说：凡是在泉之气：风气淫胜于内，用辛凉药治疗，辅以苦甘药，用甘味药缓急，用辛味药散邪；（风为木气，金能克木，所以用辛凉治疗。过于辛散，恐怕反而损伤正气，所以辅助以苦甘，苦能制辛，甘能益气。木性急躁，所以用甘味缓急。风邪胜，所以用辛味散邪。《藏气法时论》说：肝苦急，急食甘以缓之。肝欲散，急食辛以散之。说的就是这个道理。）热气淫胜于内，用咸寒药治疗，辅以甘苦药，用酸味药收敛，用苦味药发散；（热为火气，水能克火，所以宜用咸寒治疗。辅助以甘苦，甘能制咸，以防咸味太过；苦能泄热，以去除热的实证。热盛于经络而不收敛的，用酸味收敛。热郁结在内而不解的，用苦味发散。）湿气淫胜于内，用苦热药治疗，辅以酸淡药，用苦味药燥湿，用淡味药渗泄；（湿为土气，燥能除湿，所以用苦热治疗。酸从木化，能制约土，所以辅助以酸淡。用苦燥湿，是因为苦从火化。用淡渗泄，是因为淡能利窍。《藏气法时论》说：脾苦湿，急食苦以燥之。就是这个意思。）火气淫胜于内，用咸冷药治疗；辅助以苦辛药，用酸味药收敛，用苦味药发散；（相火，畏火也，所以宜用咸冷治疗。苦能泄火，辛能散火，所以用作辅助。用酸收敛，用苦发散，义理与前文热淫的治疗相同。）燥气淫胜于内，用苦温药治疗，辅助以甘辛药，用苦味药攻下；（燥为金气，火能克金，治用苦温，苦从火化。辅助以甘辛，木受金伤，用甘缓急；金的正味是辛，用辛泻金。燥结不通，则邪实于内，所以应当用苦味攻下。参照下文燥淫所胜，辅助以酸辛，与此处的甘辛稍有不同。又如《六元正纪大论》子午年阳明在泉，也说下酸温，都与此不同。考证《藏气法时论》说：肺苦气上逆，急食苦以泄之。用酸补之，辛泻之。正是这里的区别。）寒气淫胜于内，用甘热药治疗，辅助以苦辛药，用咸味药泻下，用辛味药润燥，用苦味药坚阴。（寒为水气，土能克水，热能胜寒，所以用甘热治疗，甘从土化，热从火化。辅助以苦辛等义，如《藏气法时论》说：肾苦燥，急食辛以润之。肾欲坚，急食苦以坚之，用苦补之，咸泻之也。）
黄帝道：好。天气的变化又是怎样的呢？（下文讲述司天之气淫胜的病变。）岐伯说：厥阴风木司天，风气淫胜，那么天空尘埃昏暗，云物扰乱，寒气生于春令，流水不结冰，冬眠的虫子不出洞；（巳亥年。风气在上位淫胜，所以天空尘埃昏暗，云物扰乱。风木主温，所以寒气生于春令而流水不冰。然而风胜则金气来承制，清肃之气运行，所以冬眠虫子不出。）民众容易患胃脘当心而痛，向上支撑两胁，膈咽不通，饮食不下，舌根强硬，进食后呕吐，冷性泄泻、腹胀、溏泄、瘕积、水闭，病本在于脾，（胃脘当心而痛等证候，病都在脾。按《经脉篇》，舌根强硬、进食后呕吐、胃脘痛、腹胀食不下、溏泄瘕水闭，属于足太阴脾经病。这是因为木邪乘袭土，所以诸病皆本于脾。）冲阳脉绝，死症不可治。（冲阳，是足阳明胃经的脉，在足背上方动脉应手处。土不胜木，则脾胃气竭而冲阳脉绝，所以死症不可治。）
少阴君火司天，热气淫胜，郁热至极，火气行其政令，大雨将要到来；（子午年。热气在上位淫胜，所以火气行其政令。君火之下，阴精承之，所以大雨将至。怫音佛，意为郁结。）民众容易患胸中烦热、咽喉干燥、右侧胀满、皮肤疼痛、寒热咳嗽气喘、唾血、便血、鼻塞流涕、打喷嚏、呕吐、小便颜色改变，严重则疮疡浮肿、肩背手臂及缺盆中疼痛、心痛、肺胀、腹部胀满膨隆而气喘咳嗽，病本在于肺，（胸中烦热、咽喉干燥等证候，都是君火上炎，肺金受伤。金气主右，所以右侧胀满。按《经脉篇》，小便颜色改变、肩背手臂及缺盆中疼痛、肺胀满膨隆而气喘咳嗽，属于手太阴肺经病。鼻塞流涕、肩前痛，属于手阳明大肠经病。肺与大肠互为表里，金被火伤，所以诸病皆本于肺。膨音彭。）尺泽脉绝，死症不可治。（尺泽，是手太阴肺经的脉，在肘内侧大纹中，动脉应手。金不胜火，则肺气竭而尺泽脉绝，所以死症不可治。）
太阴湿土司天，湿气淫胜，那么深沉的阴气早晨布散，雨水变化导致万物枯槁；丑未年。（湿气在上位淫胜，所以深沉阴气早晨布散。沉，深也。深沉阴雨变化，浸渍为害，所以万物多枯槁。）民众容易患浮肿、骨痛、阴痹。阴痹是指按压不得到的疼痛，伴有腰脊头项痛、时常眩晕、大便困难、阴气不用、饥饿但不想进食、咳唾带血、心如悬空感，病本在于肾，（浮肿、骨痛等证候，都是肾经病。按《经脉篇》，腰脊头项痛，属于足太阳膀胱经病；饥饿不想进食、咳唾带血、心如悬，属于足少阴肾病。这是因为肾与膀胱互为表里，水被土克，所以诸病皆本于肾。《五邪篇》中的阴痹，与此大致相同，详见针刺类二十五。）太溪脉绝，死症不可治。（太溪，是足少阴肾经的脉，在足内踝后方跟上动脉应手处。水不胜土，则肾气竭而太溪脉绝，所以死症不可治。）
少阳相火司天，火气淫胜，那么温热之气流行，金政不平；（寅申年。相火在上位淫胜，则金受其制约，所以温热之气流行，金政不平。）民众容易患头痛、发热恶寒且如疟疾、热邪上行致皮肤疼痛、面色黄赤，传变为水肿，身体面部浮肿，腹部胀满仰面呼吸，赤白痢疾，疮疡咳唾血，心中烦热，严重则鼻塞流涕，病本在于肺，（相火用事，金气受邪，客热内焚，水不能制，所以发生这些病症，皆本于肺。）天府脉绝，死症不可治。（天府，是手太阴肺经的脉，在臂内侧，腋下三寸动脉应手处。金不胜火，则肺气竭而天府脉绝，所以死症不可治。）
阳明燥金司天，燥气淫胜，那么树木晚荣，草木晚生，筋骨内部发生变化，大凉改变气候，高大的树木收敛生机于下，草尖枯萎，冬眠的虫子出来；（卯酉年。燥金在上位淫胜，则木受其克制，所以草木生荣都晚。在人身上，则肝血受伤，不能营养筋骨，所以发生内部变化。且金气大凉，能改变发生的气候，所以草木反应如此。然而阳明金气在上，则少阴火气在下，所以冬眠虫子出来。大凉革候以下四句，旧版在下文感而疟之后，现在改移于此。）民众容易患左侧胁痛，寒清于中，感受邪气而患疟疾，咳嗽，腹中鸣响，注泄溏薄，心胁暴痛，不能翻身侧卧，咽喉干燥、面色如蒙尘、腰痛，男子疝气，妇人小腹痛，眼部溃疡，痤疮痈肿，病本在于肝，（左侧胁痛等证候，都是肝经病，肝木主左。按《经脉篇》，心胁痛不能转侧、面部微有尘土，属于足少阳胆病；腰痛不可俯仰、男子疝气、妇人小腹痛、咽喉干燥、面色如蒙尘、飧泄，属于足厥阴肝病。这是因为肝与胆互为表里，木被金伤，所以诸病皆本于肝。 ，木、务二音。 音颓。痤，才何切。）太冲脉绝，死症不可治。（太冲，是足厥阴肝经的脉，在足大趾本节后二寸，动脉应手处。木不胜金，则肝气竭而太冲脉绝，所以死症不可治。）
太阳寒水司天，寒气淫胜，那么寒气反而到来，水将结冰，若逢火运炎烈，雨暴成雹；（辰戌年，寒气在上位淫胜，所以寒气反至，水将结冰。如果乘火运而火气炎烈，则水火相激，所以雨暴成雹。此下两节，旧文似乎有颠倒。现在稍微调整正确。）民众容易患血变于中，发为痈疡，厥心痛，呕血、便血、鼻塞流涕，容易悲伤、时常眩晕仆倒，胸腹满，手心热、肘挛、腋肿，心跳剧烈，胸胁胃脘不安，面赤目黄，喜欢嗳气、咽喉干燥，严重时面色焦黑，口渴想饮水，病本在于心。（寒水胜则邪乘心，所以为血变于中、发为痈疡等证候。按《经脉篇》，手心热、臂肘挛急、腋肿、胸胁支满、心中跳动剧烈、面赤目黄，属于手厥阴心包络病。盖火受寒伤，所以诸病皆本于心。澹，淡同。 音台，焦黑色也。）神门脉绝，死症不可治。（神门，是手少阴心经的脉，在手掌后锐骨之端，动脉应手处。火不胜水，则心气竭而神门脉绝，所以死症不可治。）所谓动气，就是知道脏腑的情况。（动气，指气至脉动。观察动脉的有无，就可以知道脏气的存亡。这是对六气变化疾病的总结。）
黄帝道：好。如何治疗呢？（下文讲述司天之气淫胜的治疗方法。）岐伯说：司天之气：风气淫胜，用辛凉平调，辅助以甘苦，用甘味缓急，用酸味泻木；（风气在上位淫胜，平以辛凉，佐以苦甘，以甘缓之，俱与上文在泉治同。以酸泻之者，木之正味，其泻以酸也。义见后。）热气淫胜，用咸寒平调，辅助以苦甘，用酸味收敛；（这与上文在泉治同，但缺少“以苦发之”一句，而下文火淫所胜又提到，则义与此节同也。）湿气淫胜，用苦热平调，辅助以酸辛，用苦味燥湿，用淡味渗泄；（诸与上文在泉治同，惟佐以酸辛，与彼酸淡稍异，盖辛胜酸，所以防酸之过也，故当用以为佐。）湿在上部且甚而兼热，用苦温治疗，辅助以甘辛，以出汗为痊愈标准而止；（湿在上部且甚而热，是湿郁于上而成热，治用苦温，欲其燥也。佐以甘辛，欲其散也。以燥以散，则湿热在上者，以汗出而愈。）火气淫胜，用咸冷平调，辅助以甘苦，用酸味收敛，用苦味发散，用酸味复气，热淫同；（这与在泉热淫治同。盖水能胜火，故平以咸冷。苦能泻火之实，甘能缓火之急，故佐以苦甘，火盛而散越者，以酸收之。火郁而伏留者，以苦发之。然以发去火，未免伤气，故又当以酸复之，而火热二气同治也。）燥气淫胜，用苦温平调（原文误作苦湿，当作苦温），辅助以酸辛，用苦味攻下；（这与上文燥淫于内治同，但彼云佐以甘辛，此云酸辛为异，详注见前燥淫条下，苦湿误也，当作苦温。）寒气淫胜，用辛热平调，辅助以苦甘，用咸味泻下。（辛热足以散寒，苦甘可以胜水。以咸泻之，水之正味，其泻以咸也。此与在泉治同，而文有颠倒，详见前寒淫于内条下。）

The Yellow Emperor asked: What is the condition of diseases caused by the internal invasion of Heaven and Earth Qi? (Yin refers to excessive evil. Not adhering to its virtue is called Yin. Internal Yin means pathogenic factors enter from outside, and Qi overflows internally, referring to diseases caused by changes in the Zai Quan [Earthly Branch] Qi.) Qibo replied: When Jueyin Wind Wood is Zai Quan, and Wind overcomes excessively, the Earth Qi becomes unclear, the plains become dim, and grasses and trees sprout early; (Jueyin Zai Quan corresponds to Yin and Shen years. Wind overcoming on the ground causes Wood to overcome Earth, and Wind to overcome Dampness, raising dust, thus Earth Qi is unclear and plains are dim. Excess Wood Qi causes early sprouting.) People suffer from shivering chills, frequent groaning and yawning, heart pain, limb distension, tightness in both hypochondria, inability to swallow food, obstruction in the diaphragm and throat, vomiting after eating, abdominal distension with frequent belching. After defecation or passing gas, they feel relieved as if symptoms have subsided, but the body remains heavy. (According to the Jingmai Chapter, from shivering chills to frequent yawning belongs to Yangming Stomach disease; from vomiting after eating to heaviness of the body belongs to Taiyin Spleen disease. Moreover, the Jueyin Liver meridian passes through the diaphragm and spreads over the hypochondria, hence heart pain and limb distension etc., all due to Wood evil overcoming excessively and injuring the Spleen and Stomach.)
When Shaoyin Ministerial Fire is Zai Quan, Heat overcomes excessively, flames seem to float on rivers and marshes, dark places appear bright, and hibernating insects do not hide; (Shaoyin Zai Quan corresponds to Mao and You years. Ministerial Fire overcoming below causes flames to float on water bodies, dark places to appear bright, and hibernating insects not to hide.) People suffer from constant borborygmus in the abdomen, Qi rushing up to the chest, asthma unable to stand for long, alternating chills and fever, skin pain, closed eyes, toothache and swelling, chills and fever like malaria, lower abdominal pain, and abdominal enlargement. (Constant borborygmus is due to the movement of Fire Qi. Qi rushing to the chest is due to the flaming nature of Fire. Asthma and skin pain are due to Fire evil attacking the Lung. Closed eyes are due to severe heat and Yin deficiency, fearing sunlight. Loose teeth and swelling are due to Heat attacking the Yangming Meridian. Chills and fever like malaria indicate injury to Metal and Water, with struggle between Yin and Yang. Heat in the Lower Jiao causes lower abdominal pain. Heat in the Middle Jiao causes abdominal enlargement.)
When Taiyin Damp Earth is Zai Quan, grasses flourish early, and Dampness overcomes excessively, causing mist and gloom in rocky valleys, yellow appearing black, at the intersection of Extreme Yin; (Taiyin Zai Quan corresponds to Chen and Xu years. Earth is the basis for plants, so grasses flourish early. Rocky valleys are places of thick Earth, hence misty. Yellow is Earth color, Black is Water color. Earth overcoming Dampness makes yellow appear black. The Wuchang Zheng Dalun says: When Taiyin rules Heaven, Dampness descends, Kidney Qi ascends, and Black rises like Water change. This is the meaning of Earth confronting Water. Intersection of Extreme Yin refers to between the 3rd and 4th Qi periods, when Earth rules.) People suffer from fluid accumulation and heart pain, deafness, muffled voice, swollen throat, sore throat, bleeding from the lower part, lower abdominal pain and swelling, inability to urinate, Qi rushing causing headache, eyes feeling like popping out, neck feeling like being pulled, waist feeling like breaking, thighs unable to bend, knees feeling knotted, hips feeling separated. (Fluid accumulation and heart pain are Cold-Damp attacking the Heart. From deafness to sore throat belongs to Sanjiao Meridian disease according to Jingmai Chapter. From lower bleeding to inability to urinate is Yin Deficiency Kidney disease due to Dampness flowing downward. From headache to separation feeling belongs to Bladder Meridian disease. This is because Earth evil overcomes Water, and Kidney combines with Sanjiao and Bladder, all Water organs, so diseases affect them.)
When Shaoyang Ministerial Fire is Zai Quan, Fire overcomes excessively, flames shine brightly in suburbs, and chills and fever alternate; (Shaoyang Zai Quan corresponds to Si and Hai years. Ministerial Fire overcoming below causes bright flames. Extreme heat generates cold, hence alternating chills and fever.) People suffer from dysentery with red and white discharge, lower abdominal pain, red urine, and severely bloody stools, with pulse signs same as Shaoyin Zai Quan. (Heat injuring Blood leads to red discharge; Heat injuring Qi leads to white discharge. Heat in Lower Jiao causes lower abdominal pain, red urine, and bloody stools. Other diseases are same as Shaoyin Zai Quan.)
When Yangming Dryness Metal is Zai Quan, Dryness overcomes excessively, causing foggy, clear, and dim conditions; (Yangming Zai Quan corresponds to Zi and Wu years. Metal overcoming below causes dimness like fog, cold and obscure.) People suffer from frequent vomiting, bitter vomit, frequent sighing, heart and hypochondriac pain unable to turn sides, severely dry throat, dusty face, lack of luster on body, and heat on the outer side of feet. (According to Jingmai Chapter, bitter taste, sighing, heart/hypochondriac pain, dusty face, lack of luster, and foot heat belong to Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian. Dry throat and dusty face belong to Jueyin Liver Meridian. This is because Metal evil overcomes, injuring Liver and Gallbladder.)
When Taiyang Cold Water is Zai Quan, Cold overcomes excessively, causing condensation, solemnity, and chilling fear; (Taiyang Zai Quan corresponds to Chou and Wei years. Water overcoming below causes chilling cold.) People suffer from lower abdominal pain pulling to testicles, connecting to waist and spine, rushing up to cause heart pain, bleeding, sore throat, and chin swelling. (Cold below injures its own kind, affecting Bladder and Kidney. Bladder is in abdomen, causing lower abdominal pain. Kidney governs yin organs, causing testicular pulling. Taiyang meridian runs along spine to waist, causing back pain. Kidney meridian connects to Heart, causing heart pain. Heart governs blood, Cold forces it, causing bleeding. Sore throat and chin swelling belong to Small Intestine Meridian, also due to Water evil insulting Fire.)
The Yellow Emperor said: Excellent. How to treat? (Below discusses treatment for Zai Quan excess.) Qibo said: For all Zai Quan Qi: If Wind overcomes internally, treat with Acrid-Cool, assist with Bitter-Sweet, use Sweet to relax, use Acrid to disperse; (Wind is Wood Qi, Metal overcomes it, so treat with Acrid-Cool. Too much Acrid may damage Qi, so assist with Bitter-Sweet. Bitter controls Acrid, Sweet tonifies Qi. Wood is urgent, so Sweet relaxes. Wind excess, so Acrid disperses. Zangqi Fashi Lun says: Liver suffers urgency, eat Sweet to relax. Liver desires dispersion, eat Acrid to disperse.) If Heat overcomes internally, treat with Salty-Cold, assist with Sweet-Bitter, use Sour to astringe, use Bitter to vent; (Heat is Fire Qi, Water overcomes it, so treat with Salty-Cold. Assist with Sweet-Bitter, Sweet controls Salty to prevent excess; Bitter drains to remove Heat excess. Heat in meridians not gathering, use Sour to astringe. Heat stagnated inside not resolving, use Bitter to vent.) If Dampness overcomes internally, treat with Bitter-Hot, assist with Sour-Light, use Bitter to dry, use Light to drain; (Dampness is Earth Qi, Dryness removes it, so treat with Bitter-Hot. Sour transforms from Wood, controlling Earth, so assist with Sour-Light. Bitter dries because it transforms from Fire. Light drains because it opens orifices. Zangqi Fashi Lun says: Spleen suffers Dampness, eat Bitter to dry.) If Fire overcomes internally, treat with Salty-Cold; assist with Bitter-Acrid, use Sour to astringe, use Bitter to vent; (Ministerial Fire fears Fire, so treat with Salty-Cold. Bitter drains Fire, Acrid disperses Fire, so used as assistance. Astringe with Sour, vent with Bitter, same principle as Heat treatment above.) If Dryness overcomes internally, treat with Bitter-Warm, assist with Sweet-Acrid, use Bitter to purge; (Dryness is Metal Qi, Fire overcomes it, treat with Bitter-Warm, Bitter transforms from Fire. Assist with Sweet-Acrid, Wood injured by Metal, Sweet relaxes; Metal's true flavor is Acrid, Acrid purges. Dryness blockage means excess inside, so purge with Bitter. Note: Below Dryness excess assists with Sour-Acrid, different from here Sweet-Acrid. Also Liuyuan Zhengji Dalun Zi/Wu year Yangming Zai Quan says purge with Sour-Warm, all different. Check Zangqi Fashi Lun: Lung suffers Qi rebellion, eat Bitter to drain. Use Sour to tonify, Acrid to purge. This is the distinction.) If Cold overcomes internally, treat with Sweet-Hot, assist with Bitter-Acrid, use Salty to purge, use Acrid to moisten, use Bitter to firm. (Cold is Water Qi, Earth overcomes Water, Heat overcomes Cold, so treat with Sweet-Hot, Sweet transforms from Earth, Hot from Fire. Assist with Bitter-Acrid etc., as Zangqi Fashi Lun says: Kidney suffers Dryness, eat Acrid to moisten. Kidney desires firmness, eat Bitter to firm. Use Bitter to tonify, Salty to purge.)
The Yellow Emperor said: Excellent. What about changes in Heavenly Qi? (Below discusses Bian Bing [diseases] from Si Tian [Heavenly Branch] excess.) Qibo said: When Jueyin Wind Wood rules Heaven, Wind overcomes excessively, the sky becomes dusty and dim, clouds and objects disturb, cold arises in Spring Qi, flowing water does not freeze, hibernating insects do not emerge; (Si-Hai years. Wind overcoming above causes sky dimness and cloud disturbance. Wind-Wood governs warmth, so cold arises in Spring and water doesn't freeze. However, Wind excess brings Metal control, Clear-Solid Qi acts, so insects don't emerge.) People suffer from epigastric pain at the heart center, extending to both hypochondria, obstruction in diaphragm/throat, inability to eat, stiff tongue root, vomiting after eating, cold diarrhea, abdominal distension, loose stool, mass formation, water retention, disease rooted in Spleen; (Epigastric pain etc. are Spleen diseases. According to Jingmai Chapter, stiff tongue, vomiting, epigastric pain, distension, loose stool/mass/water retention belong to Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian. This is Wood evil attacking Earth, so diseases root in Spleen.) Chongyang pulse vanishes, death untreatable. (Chongyang is Foot-Yangming Stomach pulse, on dorsal foot artery. Earth cannot overcome Wood, Spleen/Stomach Qi exhausts, Chongyang vanishes, hence death.)
When Shaoyin Ministerial Fire rules Heaven, Heat overcomes excessively, stifling heat arrives, Fire executes its administration, heavy rain approaches; (Zi-Wu years. Heat overcoming above causes Fire administration. Below Ministerial Fire, Yin Essence supports, so heavy rain approaches. Fu sound Fo, means stagnation.) People suffer from chest irritability and heat, dry throat, right-side fullness, skin pain, chills/fever cough/asthma, spitting blood/bloody stool, nasal congestion/sneezing/vomiting, urine color change, severely sores/swelling, shoulder/back/arm/clavicle pain, heart pain, Lung distension, abdominal fullness/bloating with cough/asthma, disease rooted in Lung; (Chest heat/dry throat etc. are Ministerial Fire flaming up, injuring Lung Metal. Metal governs Right, so right fullness. According to Jingmai Chapter, urine color change, shoulder/back/arm/clavicle pain, Lung distension/cough/asthma belong to Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian. Nasal congestion, shoulder front pain belong to Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian. Lung/Large Intestine are exterior-interior, Metal injured by Fire, so diseases root in Lung. Peng sound Peng.) Rize pulse vanishes, death untreatable. (Rize is Hand-Taiyin Lung pulse, in elbow crease artery. Metal cannot overcome Fire, Lung Qi exhausts, Rize vanishes, hence death.)
When Taiyin Damp Earth rules Heaven, Dampness overcomes excessively, deep Yin spreads at dawn, rain changes cause withering; Chou-Wei years. (Dampness overcoming above causes deep Yin spreading. Deep means deep. Deep Yin rain changes soak and harm, so things wither.) People suffer from edema, bone pain, Yin Bi. Yin Bi is pain unresponsive to pressure, with waist/spine/head/neck pain, occasional dizziness, difficult defecation, Yin Qi dysfunction, hunger without desire to eat, coughing/spitting blood, heart hanging sensation, disease rooted in Kidney; (Edema/bone pain etc. are Kidney Meridian diseases. According to Jingmai Chapter, waist/spine/head/neck pain belongs to Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian; hunger/no appetite, coughing blood, heart hanging belongs to Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian. Kidney/Bladder are exterior-interior, Water overcome by Earth, so diseases root in Kidney. Wuxie Pian Yin Bi is similar, see Acupuncture Class 25.) Taixi pulse vanishes, death untreatable. (Taixi is Foot-Shaoyin Kidney pulse, behind medial malleolus artery. Water cannot overcome Earth, Kidney Qi exhausts, Taixi vanishes, hence death.)
When Shaoyang Ministerial Fire rules Heaven, Fire overcomes excessively, warm Qi circulates, Metal administration is uneven; (Yin-Shen years. Ministerial Fire overcoming above controls Metal, so warm Qi circulates, Metal administration uneven.) People suffer from headache, fever/chills like malaria, heat rising causing skin pain, yellow/red complexion, transmission to water disease, body/facial edema, abdominal fullness with仰息 (breathing with head thrown back), dysentery red/white, sores/coughing blood, vexation/chest heat, severely nasal congestion, disease rooted in Lung; (Ministerial Fire active, Metal Qi injured, guest heat burns inside, Water cannot control, hence these diseases, all root in Lung.) Tianfu pulse vanishes, death untreatable. (Tianfu is Hand-Taiyin Lung pulse, inner arm, 3 cun below axilla artery. Metal cannot overcome Fire, Lung Qi exhausts, Tianfu vanishes, hence death.)
When Yangming Dryness Metal rules Heaven, Dryness overcomes excessively, Trees flourish late, Grasses grow late, sinews/bones change internally, Great Cool changes climate, tall trees gather life below, grass tips wither, hibernating insects appear; (Mao-You years. Dryness Metal overcoming above controls Wood, so plant growth late. In humans, Liver Blood injured, cannot nourish sinews/bones, so internal changes. Metal Qi Great Cool changes generation climate, so plants react this way. Yangming Metal above, Shaoyin Fire below, so insects appear. Last four sentences moved from below Malaria section.) People suffer from left hypochondriac pain, cold clearing in middle, catching pathogen causing malaria, cough, borborygmus, dysentery loose stool, sudden heart/hypochondriac pain, unable to turn sides, dry throat, dusty face, waist pain, men's hernia, women's lower abdominal pain, eye ulcers, acne/abscesses, disease rooted in Liver; (Left hypochondriac pain etc. are Liver Meridian diseases, Wood governs Left. According to Jingmai Chapter, heart/hypochondriac pain unable to turn, dusty face belong to Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder; waist pain unable to bend/extend, men's hernia, women's lower abdominal pain, dry throat/dusty face/sundried stool belong to Foot-Jueyin Liver. Liver/Gallbladder exterior-interior, Wood injured by Metal, so diseases root in Liver. Mu/Wu sounds. Tui sound Tui. Cuo sound He.) Taichong pulse vanishes, death untreatable. (Taichong is Foot-Jueyin Liver pulse, 2 cun behind big toe joint artery. Wood cannot overcome Metal, Liver Qi exhausts, Taichong vanishes, hence death.)
When Taiyang Cold Water rules Heaven, Cold overcomes excessively, Cold Qi returns, water freezes, if Fire transport is blazing, violent rain becomes hail; (Chen-Xu years, Cold overcoming above, Cold returns, water freezes. If meeting Fire transport blazing, Water/Fire clash, violent rain hail. These two sections old text seems inverted. Adjusted now.) People suffer from blood changes inside, developing abscesses, Juexin pain, vomiting blood/bloody stool/nasal congestion, frequent sadness, occasional dizziness/fainting, chest/abdominal fullness, hand heat/elbow cramping/armpit swelling, heart palpitations, chest/hypochondrium/epigastrium unrest, red face/yellow eyes, frequent belching/dry throat, severely dark complexion, thirst wanting drink, disease rooted in Heart. Fire injured by Cold, so diseases root in Heart. Dan same as Dan. Tai sound Tai, scorched black.) Shenmen pulse vanishes, death untreatable. (Shenmen is Hand-Shaoyin Heart pulse, end of sharp bone on palm artery. Fire cannot overcome Water, Heart Qi exhausts, Shenmen vanishes, hence death.) So-called Dong Qi (Moving Qi), know the Zang. (Dong Qi means Qi arrival pulse movement. Observing presence/absence of moving pulse knows Zang Qi survival/death. This summarizes six Qi disease changes.)

Qibo said: Si Tian Qi: If Wind overcomes excessively, level with Acrid-Cool, assist with Sweet-Bitter, use Sweet to relax, use Sour to purge; (Wind above, level Acrid-Cool, assist Bitter-Sweet, Sweet relax, same as Zai Quan above. Sour purge, Wood's true flavor, purge with Sour. Meaning seen later.) If Heat overcomes excessively, level with Salty-Cold, assist with Bitter-Sweet, use Sour to astringe; (Same as Zai Quan above, but lacks "vent with Bitter", later Fire excess mentions it, so meaning same.) If Dampness overcomes excessively, level with Bitter-Hot, assist with Sour-Acrid, use Bitter to dry, use Light to drain; (Same as Zai Quan above, only assist Sour-Acrid differs from Sour-Light, Acrid controls Sour to prevent excess, so used as assist.) If Dampness is high/severe and hot, treat with Bitter-Warm, assist with Sweet-Acrid, stop when sweating occurs; (Damp high/severe hot is Damp stagnating above becoming Heat, treat Bitter-Warm to dry. Assist Sweet-Acrid to disperse. Dry and disperse, so upper Damp-Heat stops with sweat.)
