3) Xueqi (SP11). "Xue" refers to blood, indicating that the substance within this acupoint is blood. "Xi" means pore or crevice. The name Xueqi implies that the inflow and outflow of blood at this acupoint are in a minute state. The substance at this acupoint is water-dampness cloud qi from the Heaven level; its nature is both damp and hot, representing the gaseous form of existence for blood. The inflow and outflow of qi and blood substances involve water-dampness cloud qi. When this cloud qi condenses into blood, the volume is small, resembling passage through a pore; hence the name Xueqi.
Qi-blood characteristics: The substance is qi (the gaseous form of blood), located in the upper part of the Earth level.
Movement pattern: Ascends along the Spleen Meridian to Jimen (SP11).
Functions and actions: Transforms blood into qi, and transforms and transports Spleen blood.
Treatment methods: For cold conditions, apply reducing then reinforcing techniques, or moxibustion; for heat conditions, reduce by releasing qi from the needle, or use aquapuncture.

Acupoint meaning: Qi and blood of the Spleen Meridian transform into wind qi here.
Name explanation: "Ji" refers to a winnowing basket, a vessel for carrying things. "Men" means gate or portal. The name Jimen indicates the transformation and movement of Spleen earth substances at this acupoint. The substance originates as wind qi expanding from the water-dampness cloud qi of Xuehai (SP10); upon reaching this acupoint, the wind qi becomes vigorous, carrying Spleen earth substances with it. The Spleen earth substances within the acupoint are carried out like items in a winnowing basket; hence the name Jimen.
Qi-blood characteristics: The substance consists of damp-heat wind qi and Spleen earth dust blown up by the wind qi.
Movement pattern: Spleen earth dust ascends along the Spleen Meridian with the wind qi and settles in the upper region of this acupoint.
Functions and actions: Transforms and transports Spleen earth particles to various parts of the body.
Treatment methods: For cold conditions, reinforce and apply moxibustion; for heat conditions, reduce by releasing qi from the needle, or use cool water aquapuncture.
12 Chongmen (SP12)
Aliases: Cigong, Shangcigong, Chongmai, Qian Zhangmen.
Acupoint meaning: Qi and blood of the Spleen Meridian rush upward to the abdomen here.
Name explanation:
1) Chongmen. "Chong" means rushing or colliding. "Men" means gate. The name Chongmen indicates that the meridian qi transmitted from lower acupoints of the Spleen Meridian rushes upward to the abdomen from this acupoint. The substance is gathered meridian qi from the lower leg and knee regions of the Spleen Meridian; its movement here is characterized by an upward rush after heating; hence the name Chongmen.
2) Cigong, Shangcigong. "Ci" means benevolence. "Gong" means place of gathering and dispersing. "Shang" means upper. The name Cigong implies that the ascending qi and blood at this acupoint do not possess extreme high temperatures. Although they rise due to heat, they do not overcome Lung Metal, similar to how Spleen Earth (mother) shows benevolence toward Lung Metal (child); hence the name Cigong.
3) Chongmai. "Chong" means collision. "Mai" means meridian qi. The name Chongmai indicates that the qi and blood movement here is in a rushing state. The reasoning is the same as for Chongmen.
4) Qian Zhangmen. "Qian" distinguishes it from Zhangmen on the Liver Meridian. "Zhang" means large timber or strong wind. "Men" means gate. The name Qian Zhangmen indicates that the qi and blood movement here is strong wind qi. The reasoning is the same as for Chongmen.
Qi-blood characteristics: The substance is yang-heat wind qi.
Movement pattern: Rushes toward the abdomen along the Spleen Meridian.
Functions and actions: Transforms and transports Spleen earth.
Treatment methods: For cold conditions, reinforce and apply moxibustion; for heat conditions, reduce by releasing qi from the needle.
13 Fushe (SP13) Meeting point of Foot-Taiyin, Yin Wei, and Jueyin meridians.
Acupoint meaning: Yin water fluids from the zang-fu organs exit the Spleen Meridian from this acupoint.
Name explanation:
1) Fushe. "Fu" refers to zang-fu organs. "She" means source. The name Fushe indicates that the qi and blood at this acupoint originate from the internal zang-fu organs. Because this acupoint has pores at the Earth level connecting to the internal Yin Wei Mai, water fluids from the Yin Wei Mai transmit outward to this acupoint. Since part of the qi and blood substance originates from the zang-fu organs, it is named Fushe.
2) Meeting point of Foot-Taiyin, Yin Wei, and Jueyin meridians. The qi and blood substance contains water fluids transmitted outward from the Yin Wei Mai and wind qi transmitted from Chongmen (SP12). The wind qi from Chongmen combines with the nature of the Jueyin Liver Meridian's qi and blood. Therefore, this acupoint is the meeting point of the Foot-Taiyin, Yin Wei, and Jueyin meridians. (*Nanjing*, Chapter 28 states: "The Yang Wei and Yin Wei meridians weave and connect throughout the body; their overflowing and stored qi and blood cannot circulate and irrigate all meridians." Based on this text, further analysis is provided. The Yin and Yang Wei meridians have a weaving and connecting function for the body's systemic qi and blood, characterized by overflow and storage without circulating irrigation. 'Overflow' refers to excess qi and blood flowing outward. 'Storage' refers to qi and blood being stored. 'Circulation' refers to substances moving cyclically through different human levels. 'Irrigation' refers to transmission to other parts. Based on this analysis, the qi and blood substances and characteristics of the Yin and Yang Wei meridians can be summarized as follows: Their substances are the excess qi and blood flowing outward from various meridians. The Yin Wei Mai's qi and blood are excess fluids, while the Yang Wei Mai's are excess gases. These fluids and gases are stored within the Yin and Yang Wei meridians. Internally within the Sanjiao, excess fluids from organs are constrained by the Sanjiao membrane and exist within the Sanjiao. Under gravity, these fluids accumulate in the lower abdomen. Once reaching the height of the internal-external abdominal passages, they overflow toward the body surface.
