(The straight portion of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian is one chi and five cun in length, while the tortuous portion extends to two chi and six cun.) The *Ling Shu* states: The meridian of the Foot-Yangming Stomach begins at the intersection of the nose (the root of the nose, also known as Shan Gen, where the meridians cross from left to right), laterally receiving the Qi of the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian (Receiving means entering. The Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian originates at Jingming BL-1 in the inner canthus and runs parallel to the Foot-Yangming; thus, the Foot-Yangming receives its Qi here). It descends along the lateral aspect of the nose, enters the upper teeth (the lateral nasal region corresponds to areas such as Chengqi ST-1, Sibai ST-2, and Juliao ST-3), emerges to encircle the lips, and intersects below at Chengjiang CV-12 (Encircle means to surround. Chengjiang is an acupoint of the Ren Mai). It then follows the posterior mandible downward, emerging at Daying ST-5 (The area below the cheekbone is the jaw; the center of the jaw is the chin; this path goes from Dicang ST-4 down to Daying). It follows Jiache ST-6, ascends anterior to the ear, passes through Guest Master (Keguzhu/Shangguan GB-3, a Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian point located anterior to the ear), follows the hairline, and reaches the frontal cranium (Jiache is a local point below the ear; Shangguan is anterior to the ear; the area anterior to the hairline is the frontal cranium); A branch proceeds anterior to Daying, descends to Renying ST-9, follows the throat, enters the Supraclavicular Fossa (Quepen), descends through the diaphragm, belongs to the Stomach, and connects with the Spleen (Renying and Quepen are local points. Belonging to the Stomach refers to the meridian's affiliation; connecting with the Spleen reflects the exterior-interior relationship between the Stomach and Spleen. This branch enters internally from Quepen, descends through the diaphragm, passing through the regions of Shangwan CV-13 and Zhongwan CV-12, belonging to the Stomach and connecting with the Spleen); The main straight trunk descends from Quepen along the medial edge of the breast (Straight refers to the direct external course, passing through Qihuxue ST-15 etc., reaching Ruzhong ST-17 and Rugen ST-18), descends flanking the umbilicus (such as Tianshu ST-25), and enters the Qi Street (descending from Wailing ST-27 into the Qi Street, i.e., Qichong ST-30, located on both sides of the pubic hair line, one cun above the inguinal ligament); Another branch originates from the stomach opening, descends along the interior of the abdomen, and meets the main trunk at the Qi Street (The stomach opening refers to the lower orifice of the stomach, corresponding to the Xiaowan CV-10 region, called Youmen in the *Nan Jing*. Following the abdominal interior past Hanyu KI-16 of the Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian, this branch merges with the main trunk at the Qi Street); From there, it descends to Bituan ST-31, reaches Futu ST-32, and descends to the middle of the knee patella (The knee cap is called Bin), follows the lateral aspect of the tibia (The shin bone is called Jing), descends to the dorsum of the foot (The top of the foot is called Fu), and enters the space between the medial side of the second toe (Bi refers to the thigh; Di means to reach. Bituan and Futu are points above the knee. The lateral aspect of the knee and tibia corresponds to the sequence of Dubi ST-35, Zusanli ST-36, and Shangjixu ST-37, then follows Neiting ST-44, enters the medial space of the second toe, and exits at Lidui ST-45, where the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian ends); A branch diverges three cun below Lianquan (Lian refers to the upper margin; three cun below Lianquan is Fenglong ST-40, which is the Luo-Connecting vessel of the Yangming, thus descending into the lateral space of the second toe); Another branch diverges from the dorsum of the foot, enters the space between the great toe, and emerges from its tip (This branch diverges from Chongyang ST-42 on the dorsum, runs obliquely into the space between the great toes, crosses to the Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian, follows the great toe to emerge from its tip, and connects with the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian). The Luo-Connecting vessel is named Fenglong, located eight cun above the malleolus, diverging to run to the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian; Its collateral branches follow the lateral aspect of the tibia upward, connect with the head and neck, gather the Qi of various meridians, and descend to connect with the larynx and pharynx. When Qi rebels, it causes throat obstruction and hoarseness; when excess occurs, mania and epilepsy manifest; when deficiency occurs, the foot cannot be held firmly, and the tibia becomes dry; treatment should target the divergent pathways (The Luo-Connecting vessel of the Foot-Yangming is named Fenglong, located eight cun above the lateral malleolus, diverging to the Foot-Taiyin. This meridian follows the throat to Quepen; the Stomach is the sea of the zang-fu organs, and the throat/pharynx and Quepen are passages for all meridians, hence they interconnect). The main meridian ascends to the thigh, enters the abdominal interior, belongs to the Stomach, scatters to the Spleen, ascends to communicate with the Heart, follows the pharynx, emerges from the mouth, ascends to the zygomatic arch (Zygoma), returns to connect with the eye system, and combines with the Foot-Yangming (This represents the exterior-interior combination of the Spleen and Stomach meridians. Ascending to Bituan, the internal pathway enters the abdomen via the Qi Street, belongs to the Stomach, scatters to the Spleen, ascends to the Heart, follows the pharynx to emerge from the mouth, ascends to the zygoma, enters near Chengqi ST-1, connects with the eye system forming the lower net of the eye, and合 with the Foot-Yangming proper). The sinews originate from the middle three toes, knot at the dorsum of the foot, slant outward and upward to adduct to the fibula, ascend to knot at the lateral aspect of the knee, go straight up to knot at the hip pivot, and follow the costal region to belong to the spine (The middle three toes refer to the second toe, beside Lidui. Knotting at the dorsum corresponds to Chongyang, running obliquely between the sinews of the Foot-Taiyin and Foot-Shaoyang, ascending to the fibula, knotting at the lateral knee, going straight up to the hip pivot, running anterior to the Foot-Shaoyang, following the ribs, and internally belonging to the spine); The straight part ascends, knots at the knee; the branch knots at the lateral fibula, combining with the Foot-Shaoyang (Referring to the tibia. The straight part follows the tibia from the dorsum, knots at the lateral aspect below the knee near Zusanli, ascending to the knee patella; the branch runs obliquely upward from the anterior dorsum, knotting at the lateral fibula near Yanglingquan GB-34, combining with the Foot-Shaoyang); The straight part follows Futu upward, knots at the thigh, gathers at the genitalia, and spreads upward over the abdomen (This straight part rises directly from the knee patella, follows Futu and Bituan, knots at the thigh, ascends to gather at the genitalia, which is the convergence of all sinews, meeting at the Qi Street, with the Yangming acting as the leader. From Henggu, it runs bilaterally, following Tianshu and Guanmen, spreading upward over the abdomen; these sinews extending to the neck are rigid); It knots at Quepen, ascends to the neck, ascends to flank the mouth, combines at the zygoma (Zygoma), descends to knot at the nose, and ascends to combine with the Foot-Taiyang, where the Foot-Taiyang forms the upper net of the eye and the Foot-Yangming forms the lower net of the eye (Ascending from Quepen to the neck at Renying, following the cheeks, flanking the mouth, meeting the Yangqiao at Dicang, ascending to the zygoma, descending to knot beside the nose, ascending again to Jingming BL-1, combining with the Foot-Taiyang. The fine sinews of Taiyang scatter above the eye, forming the upper net. The fine sinews of Yangming scatter below the eye, forming the lower net); A branch knots from the cheek anterior to the ear (This branch ascends from the cheek to knot anterior to the ear, meeting the Foot-Shaoyang at Shangguan and Hanjian, ending at Touwei). When the meridian is disturbed, symptoms include shivering chills, frequent stretching and yawning, and dark complexion; upon onset, aversion to people and fire, startle at the sound of wood, palpitations, desire to close doors and windows and stay alone; severely, climbing high to sing, discarding clothes and running, intestinal rumbling and abdominal distension, known as Ben Tun Jue. This meridian governs diseases generated by blood, including mania, malaria, damp-warmth, sweating, rhinorrhea or epistaxis, oral ulcers, neck swelling, throat obstruction, massive abdominal edema, pain and swelling of the knee patella, pain along the chest, breast, Qi Street, thigh, Futu, lateral tibia, and dorsum of the foot, and immobility of the second toe. Excess Qi causes heat in the anterior body; if Stomach Qi is excessive, food is digested quickly with hunger, and urine is yellow; deficiency causes coldness and shivering in the anterior body; Cold in the Stomach causes distension and fullness. In excess, the Renying pulse is three times larger than the Cunkou pulse; in deficiency, the Renying pulse is smaller than the Cunkou pulse.
