Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) 1 liang, Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) 4 liang, Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) 1 liang, Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) 4 liang, Zhi Gan Cao (Prepared Licorice Root) 1 liang, Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix) 4 liang, Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber) 4 liang, Long Gu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Scapulae) 4 liang.
The above ingredients are ground into fine powder. For each dose of 3 qian, add 1.5 zhan of water, 5 slices of fresh ginger, 1 jujube, and a small amount of maltose. Decoct until the volume reduces to 1 zhan, strain the dregs, and take warm.
When Kidney Wind transmits to the Heart, the Jianzhong method is also employed because the Heart governs Ying (Nutritive Qi) and originates from the Middle Jiao. Therefore, when disease occurs, the sinews and vessels pull and convulse, a condition named "Chizong" (spasmodic contraction with alternating extension and flexion). At this time, protection of Zheng Qi (Upright Qi) is paramount.
Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) 2 liang (stir-fried with ginger juice), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) 2 liang, Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Fructus) 2 liang, Gou Qi Zi (Lycii Fructus) 1 liang, Shu Di Huang (Prepared Rehmanniae Radix) 1 liang, Sheng Gan Jiang (Raw Dried Ginger) 1 liang (newly modified in the original formula).
The above ingredients are ground into fine powder. For each dose of 3 qian, add 2 zhan of water, decoct until the volume reduces to 1 zhan, strain the dregs, and take warm at any time. The original formula contains Sang Bai Pi (Morus Cortex) and Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber), but lacks Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) and Gui Zhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus).
When Heart transfers Cold to the Lung, resulting in excessive drinking and excessive urination, it is called "Si Yin" (Dead Yin), which is incurable, leading to death within three days. The *Shengji Fang* treats this with Huang Qi Tang (Astragalus Decoction). I examined its symptoms and... collectively attributed to... using [ingredients for]... Lung and two meridians... Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber) 2 liang (heart removed), Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) 1 liang, Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) 1 liang, Zhi Gan Cao (Prepared Licorice Root) 1 liang, Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix) 1 liang, Fu Shen (Poria with Hostwood) 1 liang, Gua Lou Shi (Trichosanthis Fructus) 1 liang.
The above ingredients are ground into fine powder. For each dose of 5 qian, add 2 zhan of water, several leaves of Zhu Ye (Bambusa Leaves), decoct together until the volume reduces to 1 zhan, strain the dregs, and take warm after meals.
When Heart transfers Heat to the Lung, transmitting as Ge Xiao (Diaphragmatic Wasting-Thirst), this is also a Si Yin (Dead Yin) condition. Although not as fatal as the transfer of Cold (which causes death in three days), prolonged heat leads to wasting-thirst, vexation of the heart, shortness of breath, and depletion of Jin Ye (Body Fluids)...
Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) 1 qian, Tao Ren (Persicae Semen) 1 qian, Ji Shi Li (Ji Shi Li) 1 qian.
The above ingredients are ground into fine powder. For each dose of 1 qian, add 1 zhan of water, 3 slices of fresh ginger, decoct to make a soup, and take mixed with the powder. Take after meals and before bedtime. (Half a jin of dried white chicken manure from the twelfth lunar month, placed in a bag... Li refers to sweet wine.
