Labor injury generates exogenous heat, causing blood to seep into the bladder. Blood flows recklessly when warmed; thus, due to heat, it scatters and seeps into the bladder, resulting in hematuria (blood in urine).
This is caused by labor injury damaging Kidney Qi. The Kidneys store Essence (Jing), which is formed from Blood. Deficiency consumption leads to Seven Injuries and Six Extremes, damaging both Qi and Blood. The Kidneys become relatively deficient and fail to store Essence, causing both Essence and Blood to leak out.
This occurs because Kidney deficiency and Marrow emptiness are attacked by Wind-Cold pathogens. The Kidneys reside in the Lower Jiao (Lower Burner) and govern the waist and legs; their Qi nourishes and moistens the Marrow. Now, due to Kidney deficiency contracting Wind-Cold, the knees become cold. If prolonged without cure, it leads to soreness, pain, weakness, and limited flexion of the feet. Regarding decoctions, hot compresses, acupuncture, and stone therapy, there are separate specific formulas. Nourishing and Daoyin (guiding and pulling) methods are attached below.
The *Yangsheng Fang · Daoyin Fa* states: Extend both hands backward to press against the mat, kneel on one foot while sitting on the other, bend the remaining foot as described, look upward at the face, observe where the Qi channel feels comfortable and free, maintain the extreme posture, and vibrate the body four to seven times. Do the same on the left side. Initially, step forward with both feet simultaneously, maintaining the extreme posture for two to seven repetitions. This removes chest and abdominal diseases, knee coldness, and umbilical stuffiness.
It also states: In a kneeling position, harmonize Heart Qi to descend to the feet, visualize the Qi flowing smoothly and distributing appropriately, then slowly rise, extend arms alongside the ribs, as if the palms are inhaling and exhaling continuously. If the face feels urgent or stifled, rise and place the back flat on the ground, repeating this movement seven to fourteen times. This slightly alleviates knee coldness, chronic Bladder conditions, stiffness of the waist and spine, and cold stuffiness below the umbilicus.
It also states: Sit with both legs extended, direct Qi toward Yongquan (KI-1), performing this three times. Once the Qi penetrates through, retract the right foot, bending and curling it, grasp the Yongquan point on the sole of the foot tightly with both hands, and pull. Press the foot against the hand, pull, and assume the posture simultaneously. Exert force in hands and feet, sending Qi downward, repeating twenty-one times, ensuring the flow of Qi does not deviate. Practicing this repeatedly removes Cold Qi within the Kidneys, knee coldness, and foot pain.
It also states: Kneel on one foot, sit on it, curl toes inward with hands inside the thighs, exert force downward, push the body outward, assume the posture simultaneously, and move toward the heart for seven to fourteen repetitions. Do the same on the left side. This removes hemorrhoids, Five Labors, pain and stuffiness in feet and arms, knee coldness, and Yin pain.
It also states: Lie supine, extend both calves, interlock the ten toes, extend both hands beside the body, and inhale through the nose for seven breaths. This removes coldness in both calves and pain in the leg bones.
It also states: Lie supine, extend both calves and hands, bring the outer heels and toes together, inhale through the nose until exhaustion for seven breaths. This removes coldness in both knees, shin pain, and muscle cramps.
It also states: Point both toes downward against the mat, press the two Yongquan points apart, sit on the heels, push both knees outward, reach hands forward downward to the limit, repeating seven times. This removes Yin pain and knee coldness due to labor injury, emaciation of the Spleen, and dryness of the Kidneys.
It also states: Embrace both knees with hands, maintain the extreme posture, shake back and forth forty-nine times, and tilt the head backward. This removes knee coldness.
It also states: Lie supine, extend both calves, turn both toes to the left, extend both hands straight beside the body, and inhale through the nose for seven breaths. This removes dead flesh and coldness in the shins.
It also states: Stand, grasp the waist with both hands, keep the body upright, relax the body and mind, allow Qi to descend and distribute properly, shake front and back forty-nine times, stand with feet together and head facing forward shaking fourteen times, shake the head up and down seven times, swallow saliva and lift both shoulders, soften the spine, dissipate Cold Qi, and allow Zang-Fu Qi to penetrate through Yongquan.
It also states: Cross-kneel, extend both hands backward, press palms to the ground, exhale downward. Initially, slowly lower yourself; if you feel severe stuffiness in the waist and spine, return to the upright position, repeating this seven to fourteen times. Keep the body upright, scatter Qi left and right, rotate the waist twenty-one times. This removes cold stuffiness below the umbilicus, knee coldness, and disorders within the Jiexi (ST-41) area.
