This is due to the deficiency of both Yin and Yang. The Kidney governs essence and marrow, and its orifice opens at the external genitalia. Now, with Yin deficiency and Yang weakness, Blood and Qi fail to nourish each other, thus causing coldness in the external genitalia. If this persists for a long time without healing, it will lead to impotence (Yin Wei Ruo).
This is caused by labor injury depleting Blood and Qi, making the skin and interstices (Fu Cou) empty and loose, thereby allowing Wind-Cold pathogens to invade. The Kidney governs the waist and legs; when the Kidney is weak, it is easily invaded by Wind pathogens. When Wind-Cold lodges between the hip joints (Bi Shu), pain occurs.
Individuals suffering from labor injury have deficient bodies that are susceptible to Wind pathogens. The Wind pathogen invades half of the body while taking advantage of the deficiency, remaining in the muscles and skin without immediate manifestation. If one drinks water while the fluid has not yet dispersed, and then exerts oneself on the Kidneys, Water and Wind pathogens contend with each other. Taking advantage of the deficiency, they manifest unilaterally. The Wind pathogen remains stagnant, obstructing the flow of Blood and Qi, resulting in withered and thin limbs on one side, known as hemiplegia (Pian Gu).
The Kidney's orifice opens at the external genitalia. If the Kidney is injured by labor, Kidney deficiency fails to nourish the sexual organs, leading to flaccidity and weakness. Upon pulse diagnosis, if the pulse feels light and floating like fat floating on soup (Pie Pie Ru Geng Shang Fei), it indicates weak Yang Qi; if the pulse feels continuous and fine like a spider's thread (Lian Lian Ru Zhi Zhu Si), it indicates declining Yin Qi. With the decline of both Yin and Yang, and Wind pathogens entering the Kidney Meridian, the penis may fail to erect, or there may be pulling pain in the lower abdomen. The *Yang Sheng Fang* states: Mercury should not come near the external genitalia, as it causes the penis to shrink.
When Kidney Qi is damaged and invaded by Wind pathogens, the pathogenic qi flows into the Kidney Meridian and clashes with the body's Yin Qi. The true Qi and pathogenic Qi contend with each other, causing pain in the external genitalia. If only cold is present, there is merely pain; if heat is involved, swelling occurs. Treatments such as hot compresses, moxibustion, acupuncture, and stone therapy have separate specific formulas. Methods for tonification, nourishment, and guidance exercises are attached below.
The *Yang Sheng Fang · Dao Yin Fa* states: Press the toes of both feet downward against the mat, bring the two Yongquan points (KI-1) together, sit on the heels, spread the knees outward, extend both hands forward and downward as far as possible, repeating seven times. This removes labor injury, genital pain, and cold knees.
This is caused by Wind-Heat pathogens lodging in the Kidney Meridian. The heat from the Kidney Meridian flows into the external genitalia. Due to Kidney deficiency, the pathogen cannot be dispersed, resulting in swelling.
Shan disease refers to pain caused by Qi stagnation. Many tendons converge at the external genitalia. When pathogens lodge in the Jueyin and Shaoyin meridians and contend with Cold Qi, it causes pain, swelling, and contraction of the external genitalia.
Severe deficiency and labor injury result in insufficient Kidney Qi, causing coldness in the external genitalia and spontaneous sweating. When Wind pathogens take advantage of this deficiency, itching occurs. Treatments such as hot compresses, moxibustion, acupuncture, and stone therapy have separate specific formulas. Methods for tonification, nourishment, and guidance exercises are attached below.
The *Yang Sheng Fang · Dao Yin Fa* states: Lie supine, place both hands beside the knees, position the heels under the buttocks, inhale through the mouth until the abdomen is fully distended, and exhale through the nose, repeating for seven breaths. This eliminates dampness in the genital area, internal lower abdominal pain, and cold knees with limited mobility.
