Thus, a sensation of fullness and obstruction forms; it feels like a mass but is not a true lump, nor is it a fixed growth. Upon seeing food, there is aversion, and each meal ends without satiety. The complexion is sallow and emaciated, and the limbs waste away day by day. People assume this is consumptive disease (Lao) caused by dietary indiscretion, yet who would know that it is actually spleen deficiency failing to transform nutrients? When one craves food before it even arrives, it indicates strong stomach Qi. When discomfort arises after swallowing, it indicates weak spleen Qi. Overindulgence merely relies on the strength of stomach Qi. Relying on this strength, people consume both refined and coarse foods, as well as raw and cold items, inevitably damaging the stomach Qi. The stomach and spleen are exterior-interior paired organs; if the stomach is injured, the spleen cannot remain uninjured. However, in individuals with robust kidney Qi, even if the stomach is injured, the spleen may not be, because the fire of the Mingmen (Gate of Life) within the kidneys can generate spleen Qi. Therefore, spleen Qi deficiency is often cured by tonifying kidney fire. Now, when food cannot be digested to the point of aversion upon seeing it, it signifies that both the spleen and stomach are injured. Merely tonifying the kidney fire may only generate spleen earth but fail to generate stomach earth. This is because spleen earth requires kidney fire to be generated, while stomach fire requires the fire of the Pericardium to grow. The treatment method must involve tonifying the Pericardium to generate stomach earth and tonifying the Mingmen to generate spleen earth.

Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 3 qian), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 5 qian), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix, 5 qian), Fu Ling (Poria, 3 qian), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 1 qian), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex, 1 qian), Ba Ji Tian (Morindae Officinalis Radix, 5 qian), Chang Pu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma, 0.5 fen), Shan Zha (Crataegi Fructus, 10 grains), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata, 0.5 fen), Yuan Zhi (Polygalae Radix, 0.8 fen).
Decoct in water and take orally. After two doses, spleen Qi becomes robust; after another two doses, stomach Qi opens; after ten doses, stomach and spleen Qi become vigorous; after another ten doses, complete recovery occurs.
This formula tonifies the Pericardium superiorly, the Mingmen inferiorly, and the stomach and spleen centrally. When fire generates, earth becomes robust; when earth is robust, food is digested. This is an unchangeable principle. The world does not know the method of tonifying fire, nor does it understand the distinction between tonifying the Pericardium and the Mingmen. Thus, they daily attempt to strengthen the spleen without success, and open the stomach without effect, eventually developing consumptive disease before stopping. Is this not lamentable?
For this condition, Wen Hua Tang (Warming and Transforming Decoction) is also excellent.

When a person encounters setbacks, or fails in official examinations, or worries about daily necessities, depression accumulates. There is distension and stuffiness in the chest and hypochondrium, food intake decreases daily, the complexion is depressed, and gradually the limbs waste and the form declines. The patient fears cold and heat. People assume this is consumptive disease caused by sorrow, yet who would know it is liver Qi stagnation, where wood overacts on the stomach and spleen? Liver wood delights in free expansion. Upon encountering cold wind or sorrow, it becomes stagnant and fails to extend. However, liver Qi refuses to accept non-extension; seeking extension within non-extension, it cannot expand upward to generate heart fire, so it must downwardly overact and injure spleen earth. Once spleen earth is injured, stomach Qi also weakens. With weak stomach Qi, food intake diminishes, and how can it distribute nourishment to the zang-fu organs? Seeing the patient listless, refusing drink and food, people suspect parasite infestation and use drugs to eliminate parasites and purge filth. Since liver Qi remains unopened, the stomach and spleen are further damaged, leading to greater exhaustion. Many die from becoming consumptive disease. The treatment method is simply to relieve the depression.
Prescribe Shun Shi Tang (Smooth and Adapt Decoction):
Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 1 liang), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 3 qian), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 0.5 fen), Bai Jie Zi (Sinapis Semen, 1 qian), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 2 qian), Yu Jin (Curcumae Longae Radix, 1 qian), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 0.3 fen), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 0.5 fen), Fu Ling (Poria, 3 qian), Xiang Fu (Cyperi Rhizoma, 1 qian), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 0.8 fen).
Decoct in water and take orally. After two doses, stomach and spleen open; after four doses, chills and fever cease; after ten doses, all symptoms of depression dissipate; after twenty doses, complete recovery occurs.
This formula enters the liver meridian specifically, and also the spleen and stomach meridians. It soothes liver Qi stagnation and ventilates spleen Qi sinking, which explains its miraculous efficacy. If one seeks to kill parasites and dispel evil spirits, this condition originally has no parasites or spirits. It is truly regrettable that tuberculous disease caused by depression is easy to treat, yet people do not know how to treat depression.
For this condition, Shi Zhi Tang (Adapt Will Decoction) is also effective.
Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Fu Ling (Poria) (each 5 qian); Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus), Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) (each 0.5 fen); Sha Ren (Amomi Fructus, 1 grain); Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata), Xiang Fu (Cyperi Rhizoma), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) (each 2 qian); Su Zi (Perillae Fructus, 1 qian).

There are nuns, widows, unmarried daughters, and wives whose husbands have been away for a long time, living apart. Due to lovesickness and depression, desiring a man but unable to obtain him, internal fire moves secretly, scorching yin fluids. Liver blood becomes dry, inevitably leading to blood depletion and amenorrhea. There is morning and evening fever, night sweats, and nocturnal emissions with dreams of sexual intercourse. Day after day, year after year, appetite declines, limbs feel heavy and fatigued, skin becomes rough like fish scales, and the face and eyes turn dark. People assume this is consumptive disease due to blood stasis, yet who would know it is tuberculous disease due to dry blood? Whenever women's desire fire moves, it is often difficult to resolve. Desire fire is like thunder fire. When thunder fire moves, heaven and earth change, and yin and yang become discordant. Water boils with fire, and fire flares upward with water. Who will not be scorched dry? Women's desire fire originates in the liver; liver fire is fire within wood. Thunder fire likes to split wood because fire emerges from wood. Liver fire should be stored because the liver stores blood. When liver fire moves, blood cannot be stored. Fire moving causes blood leakage. Moreover, if fire does not move, fine; but once it moves, it cannot stop suddenly. Thus, fire moves frequently and blood leaks frequently. If movement never ceases, leakage never ceases. How can blood not become dry? The treatment seems suitable for draining fire from wood. However, fire can only be temporarily drained to stop inflammation, not frequently drained to damage wood.
Prescribe Xiao Chou Tang (Eliminate Sorrow Decoction):
Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 1 liang), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 1 liang), Wei Yu (Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma, 1 liang), Xuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) (each 1.5 fen); Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex, 3 qian), Di Gu Pi (Lycii Cortex, 5 qian), Bai Jie Zi (Sinapis Semen, 1 qian), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata, 1 liang).
Decoct in water and take orally. Take several doses continuously until liver Qi is no longer dry. Take several more doses until liver fire is pacified. Take ten more doses until depleted blood is replenished and various symptoms gradually heal.
This formula tonifies liver wood and simultaneously tonifies kidney water. When water is abundant, wood receives nourishment; when wood is balanced, fire mechanisms subside. One need not specifically treat consumptive disease, and it will retreat naturally. Within tonifying liver and kidney, there are still herbs that open and vent depression. Those who merely tonify liver blood or merely drain liver fire are still one step short.
For this condition, San Si Tang (Disperse Longing Decoction) is also good.
Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix, 1 liang), Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex) (each 5 qian); Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 1 liang), Di Gu Pi (Lycii Cortex, 3 qian), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix, 1 qian), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 5 qian), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 0.5 fen), Chao Zhi Zi (Gardeniae Fructus, 2 qian), Jing Jie (Schizonepetae Spica, 1 qian).

When damp-heat accumulates in the stomach and spleen, and raw/cold substances remain undigested, over time they transform into tapeworms (cunbai) or roundworms. This causes abdominal pain, sallow complexion, emaciation, profuse night sweats, timidity, and weakness. This is parasitic accumulation that has not dispersed. Parasites arise from damp-heat transformation, but the accumulation of damp-heat is actually due to spleen-stomach deficiency. Where earth is firm, parasites cannot grow; where earth is loose, water enters. When water enters, dampness remains. Dampness accumulates to create heat, and heat generates parasites. Therefore, the treatment need not use vermifuge drugs. Simply strengthening spleen-stomach earth will cause parasites to leave. However, since parasites inhabit tunnels within the earth, their offspring are numerous. Merely strengthening spleen-stomach earth creates steaming qi, which may not kill all parasites. Fearing incomplete eradication, while strengthening spleen-stomach, one must assist with vermifuge agents. This is uprooting the source and cutting off the grass by the roots.
Prescribe Mie Chong Tang (Exterminate Parasite Decoction):
Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 1 liang), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen, 2 qian), Shi Jun Zi (Quisqualis Fructus, 20 pieces), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 3 qian), Lian Shu Gen (Meliae Radix, 3 qian), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 0.5 fen), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata, 3 qian), Zhi Gan Cao (Prepared Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 2 qian), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, 0.3 fen), Bai Bu (Stemonae Radix, 1 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally. After one dose, parasites pass; after two doses, many parasites pass; after three doses, all parasites are exterminated. No need for four doses.
This formula kills damp-heat parasites in the stomach and spleen, not flesh-and-blood parasites. Flesh-and-blood parasites have spiritual awareness, whereas damp-heat parasites lack knowledge. Minor treatments can achieve merit, let alone using methods for treating tubercle bacilli. No wonder that once yuan Qi returns, killing parasites is swift.
For this condition, Man Geng Yin (Eel Broth Drink) is also effective.
Eel (1 jin), boiled to make 4 bowls of broth. Separately:
Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (each 1 liang); Fu Shen (Poria with Hostwood), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata) (each 3 qian); Bai Bu (Stemonae Radix, 2 qian), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex, 1 qian). Take 2 bowls of broth, decoct to 1 bowl and take. Use residue again with 2 bowls of broth, decoct to 1 bowl. Take two doses for complete recovery.
Some people develop alcohol accumulation due to excessive brewing/drinking, damaging spleen Qi. They experience diarrhea at dawn (wugeng xie). Over time, they become listless, lose appetite, vomit frequently, and sweat profusely at night. People assume this is alcoholic consumptive disease, yet who would know it is dual deficiency of spleen and kidney? Alcohol enters the stomach, seemingly injuring it, but the organ receiving it is the spleen. The spleen dislikes dampness, and alcohol is damp, which the spleen abhors. It then transfers to the kidney. Although the kidney is a water organ storing essence, it does not store dampness. Alcohol fumes, and the kidney absorbs the toxicity of alcohol, transmitting it back to the spleen. The spleen cannot bear it, so it transmits to the large intestine for excretion. The large intestine also dislikes the dampness of alcohol and does not retain it, causing rapid evacuation. Excessive drinking leads to severe diarrhea. Profuse lower discharge depletes yin. How can one not become ill? People love alcohol as much as family members, drinking daily without cessation, until intestines rot and stomachs ulcerate. Therefore, the treatment must first enforce abstinence from alcohol, then use drugs to resolve alcohol and detoxify, followed by spleen-tonifying and kidney-benefiting herbs to rescue declining fire and earth. Then alcoholic consumptive disease may be cured.
Prescribe Xiao Jiu San (Resolve Alcohol Powder):
Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 1 liang), Shan Zhu Yu (Corni Fructus, 1 liang), Ge Hua (Puerariae Flos, 2 qian), Yi Yi Ren (Coicis Semen, 1 liang), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex, 0.3 fen), Fu Ling (Poria, 3 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally. After ten doses, diarrhea lightens; after another ten doses, diarrhea stops; after another ten doses, alcohol accumulation is removed; after another ten doses, complete recovery occurs.
This formula tonifies both spleen and kidney, separates alcohol dampness, and eliminates its toxicity. Although alcohol nature is greatly hot, we do not clear heat here but use Rou Gui (Cinnamon Bark) to assist heat. This is because dampness does not move due to decline of Mingmen fire. When true fire declines, pathogenic fire flourishes; when true fire flourishes, pathogenic fire declines, and pathogenic water flows freely.
For this condition, Jie Jiu Tang (Resolve Alcohol Decoction) can also treat it.
Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 2 liang), Fu Ling (Poria, 5 qian), Rou Dou Kou (Myristicae Semen, 2 pieces), Zuo Mu Zhi (Zizyphi Oxycanthae Ramulus, 5 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally. Ten doses for cure.
Children who eat too much fruit and indulge in rich/sweet foods develop malnutrition (gan syndrome). Their bodies are sallow and thin, hair stands erect, skin is scorched, resembling monkeys or hedgehogs. They eat dirt and charcoal. People assume this is childhood consumptive disease, yet who would know it is spleen-stomach deficiency-cold? Children are pure yang and should not suffer deficiency-cold. However, although congenital constitution may be intact, acquired constitution is often damaged. Congenital belongs to kidney; acquired belongs to spleen and stomach. Eating fruit and rich foods damages spleen and stomach. Once spleen and stomach are injured, qi of five zang organs cannot circulate, and qi of six fu organs cannot transport. Children have irregular temperaments and do not know moderation. They continue eating fruit and rich foods. How can consumptive disease not develop? Treatment involves tonifying spleen-stomach qi and regulating dietary injury. This should yield immediate results. Why would it reach childhood consumptive disease? Unfortunately, worldly physicians use Long Dan Cao (Gentianae Radix), Lu Hui (Aloe), Hu Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) to drain fire; Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen), Hou Po (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex) to descend phlegm; Mai Ya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus), Shan Zha (Crataegi Fructus), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) to purge food; Zhi Zi (Gardeniae Fructus), Lian Gen (Meliae Radix), Wu Mei (Mume Fructus) to kill parasites. This overwhelms children, damaging true yuan Qi, akin to kicking someone when they are down.
Prescribe Liu Jun Zi Tang (Six Gentlemen Decoction) with modifications:
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 2 qian), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 3 qian), Fu Ling (Poria, 3 qian), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 0.3 fen), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata, 0.1 fen), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix, 3 qian), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata, 0.5 fen).
Decoct in water and take orally.
After one dose, the child's spirit recovers; after two doses, the child's spirit regenerates. Continuous administration for ten doses ensures complete recovery. No need for more doses.
This formula is originally a qi-tonifying agent. Tonifying qi means tonifying spleen-stomach qi. Childhood illness originates from spleen-stomach injury. Congenital constitution is rarely injured. Once spleen-stomach qi turns, acquired constitution is undamaged, so why wouldn't congenital constitution continue? This is why such consumptive diseases are easy to cure.
For this condition, Shen Ren San (Divine Human Powder) is also very effective.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 2 qian), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 3 qian), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 0.5 fen), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex, 0.3 fen), Bai Dou Kou (Amomi Fructus Rotundus, 1 piece), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata, 0.5 fen), Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, 0.3 fen), Shan Zha (Crataegi Fructus).
Decoct in water and take orally.
Some people contract corpse worms, leading to consumptive disease. Symptoms are identical to those of the infected patient. Known as "Chuan Shi Lao" (Transmitting Corpse Consumption), in men, transmission goes from kidney to heart, then lung, then liver, then spleen. In women, from heart to lung, then liver, then spleen, then kidney. Five zang transmit to six fu, leading to death. This is ancient theory, but who knows it is incorrect? In Chuan Shi Lao, the patient contracts worms from the sick person. Disease appears in the organ where the worm enters, invariably transmitting to spleen leading to death. It does not necessarily transmit through all five zang. Those who transmit through all five zang start with self-injury to kidney, then to heart, lung, liver, and finally spleen. Treating self-transmission as transmitting corpse disease is a great error. Therefore, treating transmitting corpse disease need not be the same as treating self-transmission. Although corpse worms enter any organ, treatment must primarily tonify stomach and kidney, assisted by vermifuges. If stomach qi does not collapse, body fluids generate. If kidney qi does not dry up, fire qi settles. Stomach is the gatekeeper for kidney. If stomach earth digests, kidney water suffices. In transmitting corpse disease, kidney water never fails. These two meridians, kidney and stomach, must be tonified together.
Prescribe Yi Shi Mie Guai Tang (Move Corpse Exorcise Monster Decoction):
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 1 liang), Shan Zhu Yu (Corni Fructus, 1 liang), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 3 qian), Ru Xiang Mo (Frankincense Powder, 1 qian), Meng Chong (Blatta Orientalis, 14 pieces), Shui Zhi (Hirudo, fire-dried, 14 pieces), Er Can Sha Mo (Bombyx Batryticatus Powder, 3 qian).
Grind all into powder, form pills with honey. Take 100 pills daily. Upon finishing this medicine, traces of transmitting corpse worms disappear.
Ancient vermifuges for tubercle worms often damaged stomach and kidney, hence lacking efficacy. Now, Ren Shen opens stomach, Shan Zhu Yu nourishes kidney. Shan Zhu Yu is also a vermifuge. Using Meng Chong and Shui Zhi to attack worms with worms makes victory easier. Fearful that solid objects cannot penetrate deep into corpse worms, Dang Gui is added to mobilize them, and Ru Xiang to open pathways, guiding direct entry for killing. Worrying that worms might eat the tonic herbs and scatter their flavor, Er Can Sha (worm feces) is added. Worms avoid their own kind's feces and will not eat them. Thus, Ren Shen, Dang Gui, and Shan Zhu Yu can exert their effects, powerfully assisting other herbs to achieve efficacy.
For this condition, Zhu Shi Yin (Expel Corpse Drink) is also miraculous.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 0.3 fen), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 2 qian), Shan Zhu Yu (Corni Fructus, 5 qian), Man Yu Gu Shao Hui (Burned Eel Bone Powder, 1 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally.
Some people contract ghost zhu (Gui Zhu), where the entire household, young and old, suffers from corpse worm disease. This is heavier than Chuan Shi. Chuan Shi affects only one person; one dies, another gets sick. It is not as severe as Gui Zhu. Although these diseases seem caused by vengeful ghosts haunting, initially, they are always introduced by corpse worms. Corpse worms causing harm can already kill. With ghost evils assisting, changes are unpredictable, making harm even worse. Symptoms cause nocturnal emissions and dream-sexual intercourse, dripping semen, lethargy, silence, unknown suffering, universal aversion. Year after month, gradually exhausting until death. Household infection can lead to extinction of the family line, truly heartbreaking. Ge Zhichuan transmitted Ta Gan San (Hyena Liver Powder) to save people, but it only saves early-stage infections, not deep ones. I met an extraordinary person who passed down a prescription named San Qing Wan (Three Pure Pill):
Cang Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, 0.5 jin), Chao Ren Shen (Fried Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 3 liang), Shan Zhu Yu (Corni Fructus, 1 jin), Bai Wei (Cynanchi Atrati Radix, 3 liang), Jiang Can (Bombyx Batryticatus, 3 liang), E Jiao (Asini Corii Colla, 3 liang), Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 10 liang), Bie Jia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum, 10 liang), Man Yu Gu (Eel Bone, 3 liang), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 1 jin), Bai Zi Ren (Platycladi Semen, 4 liang, oil not removed), Di Gu Pi (Lycii Cortex, 10 liang), Sha Shen (Glehniae Radix, 5 liang), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex, 1 liang), Di Li Fen (Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Bulbus Powder, 1 jin), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata, 3 liang), Bei Mu (Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus, 2 liang).
Grind all into fine powder, form pills with honey. Take 3 qian morning and evening. After one month, ghost qi disperses; after two months, corpse worms die. If the whole family takes it, extinction of the family line will certainly not occur.
This formula tonifies yang qi to control yin, so ghosts dare not approach. It extinguishes corpse qi to kill worms, so evil spirits dare not hide. It has the benefit of attacking without the damage of harsh purging. It raises the dead to life and saves families to ensure longevity. Its merit is truly great.
For this condition, San Zhu Yin (Disperse Zhu Drink) is also good.
Bie Jia Chao Wei Mo (Powdered Fried Turtle Shell, 5 qian), Hu Xin Mo (Fox Heart Powder, 1 qian), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 2 qian), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 0.3 fen), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata, 2 qian), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 5 qian), Shan Zhu Yu (Corni Fructus, 5 qian), Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 5 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally. Cure in one month without recurrence.
People who make vows under flowers and moonlight, but are blocked by circumstances or fate from uniting, accumulate thoughts in their hearts. Souls wander in dreams. Gradually, they refuse tea and rice, speak incoherently, act listlessly, sleep all day, look haggard, and feel depressed. They fear cold and heat, have vague bone pain, and vague abdominal hunger. People assume consumptive disease has formed, yet who would know it is the severe symptom of lovesickness? Lovesickness need not be treated; meeting the lover resolves the depression. However, lovers are hard to find quickly. Does medicine have no other treatments? Generally, lovesickness first injures heart, then liver, and over time, spleen and stomach. To treat lovesickness, one should treat the heart, liver, spleen, and stomach meridians collectively. Treating these four meridians often yields survival. Do not believe ancient sayings that lovesickness is incurable. Heart-injuring disease is generally incurable, yet lovesickness injuring heart is still salvageable. Thinking of someone unattainable moves liver fire. Fire moving generates heart fire. Actually, this thread of continuity relies on liver wood fire to generate heart fire. Use herbs to pacify liver and relieve depression, assist with heart-tonifying and calming herbs, and add stomach-opening and spleen-strengthening drugs. Once liver Qi relaxes, heart fire spontaneously arises. One need not generate spleen-stomach earth; lovesickness will gradually decline. If human efforts intervene, what disease cannot be cured?
