Yintang (Ex-HN1) treats all types of wind-stroke with aphasia; Jiache (ST6) treats trismus; Tongziliao (BL1) treats closed eyelids; Yingxiang (LI20) treats closure of both mouth and eyes.
Shaohai (HT3) treats wind-stroke (pinching is preferred over needling); pushing Waiguan (TE5) and Jianshi (PC5) stops muscle spasms, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Pinching Yangchi (TE4) stops headache, clears and tonifies Kidney Water to open blockage of urination and defecation, and induces sweating.
Pinching Zongjin (Extra point) and pushing Tianhequ (Conception Vessel channel between wrist and elbow) clears Heart Heat, treating mouth ulcers, tidal fever, night crying, and frequent convulsions of the four limbs; pinching Wailaogong (Extra point) treats generalized tidal fever; rubbing this point is effective when green veins appear on the abdomen.
Rubbing Laogong (PC8) stirs Heart Fire and induces sweating; it should not be used lightly.
Houxi (SI3): Pushing upward is a draining method, primarily promoting diuresis; pushing downward is a tonifying method for the Kidneys.
Wangu (SI4) stops diarrhea; pushing downwards suffices.
Hegu (LI4) is located in the crease between the first and second metacarpal bones at the tiger's mouth; it calms fright. Pinch once on each hand.
Zhongzhu (TE3) treats tendon cramps; pinch then rub. Xiiejie (ST41) treats "internal-drawing fright" (convulsions with backward arching); rubbing and pinching corrects the posture. Guiyan (Extra points, i.e., Xianyan/Knee Eye, four points total): If the body arches backward, pinching these points immediately straightens the body.
Weizhong (BL40) treats forward falling during convulsions; pinching downwards straightens the body.
Pusen (BL60) treats foot twitching/jumping and teeth grinding. Rubbing clockwise stops vomiting; rubbing counter-clockwise stops diarrhea. For simultaneous fright, vomiting, and diarrhea, pinching this point and the middle toe is effective.
Dadun (LR1): When fright strikes urgently, grasp this point, or use bilateral grasping with Xiedai (Extra point). (Note: Xiedai is also known as Pusan, or Kunlun (BL60) according to Xia; moxibustion of three cones treats pediatric epilepsy and convulsions.)
Yongquan (KI1) treats fright-induced vomiting and diarrhea. After pinching, for males, rotating left and rubbing stops vomiting; rotating right and rubbing stops diarrhea. Rotating left without rubbing treats vomiting; rotating right without rubbing treats diarrhea.
Pushing techniques: Open Heavenly Gate 24 times (from glabella up to hairline); Divide Yin and Yang 9 times (using thumbs to push from glabella laterally to Taiyang points; applicable regardless of cold, heat, excess, or deficiency). If affected by cold, rub Taiyang heavily to induce sweating; for weak constitutions affected by cold, also rub Taiyang to induce sweating, and rub Taiyin to retain sweat, ensuring perspiration occurs between the skin and fascia, thereby preventing Yang collapse due to excessive sweating and further weakness (for females, rub Taiyin to induce sweating and Taiyang to stop sweating). Subsequently, pinch Yingtian, Glabella, Shangen, Zhuntou, Renzhong, and Chengjiang points once each to substitute for needling. For males, push up San Guan (Three Passes) on the left hand 30 times, and drain Liu Fu (Six Bowels) 50-60 times to correspond. Then, hold the child's left palm upwards with both hands, divide-push Zongjin 6-7 times, and perform Bagua rotation on the left palm from Gen Palace to Kan Palace 20-30 times. Bend the child's left little finger and heavily rub Wailaogong, named "Yellow Bee Enters the Cave," 30 times. Then, rub each of the five finger joints twice. On the left leg, stroke Weizhong downwards 30 times. The above pushing methods apply only to the left hand and left foot for both genders. Follow with mild warming using a Lantern Festival lamp ○ Calming Fright with Lantern Fire: Moxibustion on Fontanelle, Glabella, Umbilical Center, Umbilical Periphery (six burns around umbilicus), Shaoshang (LU11), Hegu (LI4), and Xiedai, 15 burns per point (using rush pith dipped in clear oil ignited for cauterization).
The above pushing techniques are performed using the practitioner's thumb soaked in decoction of ginger and scallion. For other points, additional rubbing methods are applied based on symptoms.
